< Obadiah 1 >

1 The vision of Obadiah, —Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, concerning Edom—A rumour, have we heard from Yahweh, and, a herald, throughout the nations, hath been sent, Up! and let us rise against her to war.
Ty aroñaro’ i Obadià: Hoe ty nafè’ Iehovà, Talè amy Edome: Nahajanjiñe entañe boak’ amy Iehovà zahay, le fa nampihitrifeñe amo kilakila’ ondatio ty sorotà, nanao ty hoe: Miongaha, antao hitroatse hihotakotake.
2 Lo! small, have I made thee, among the nations—Despised art thou exceedingly!
Inao te hafotsako ho kede amo fifeheañeo irehe; ho vata’e mavoeñe.
3 The insolence of thy heart, hath deceived thee, O thou that inhabitest the retreats of the crag, the height of his habitation, —that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?
Fa namañahy azo ty firengevohan’arofo’o, ihe mpimoneñe an-tseratseram-bato ao; an-kaboañe ey ty fimoneña’o ihe mitsakore ty hoe añ’arofo ao: Ia ty hanjotso ahy mb’an-tane mb’eo?
4 Though thou build high like an eagle, and though, among the stars, thou set thy nest, from thence, will I bring thee down, Declareth Yahweh.
Aa ndra t’ie mizonjoñe mb’añ’abo ey hirae’o am-bantio, naho ajado’o amo vasiañeo eñe ty akiba’o, mbe hazotsoko boak’ ey, hoe t’Iehovà.
5 If, thieves, had come to thee, if robbers by night—how ruined thou art! Would they not have stolen what sufficed them? If, grape-gatherers, had come to thee, Would they not have left gleanings?
Ie nivotraha’ ty mpampikametse, naho ty malaso an-kaleñe — akore ty fandrotsahañe anahareo— tsy ho nampikametse am-para’ t’ie nietsake hao? Aa naho nivotrak’ ama’o ty mpanontoñe valoboke, tsy ho nenga’e hao ty ho tsindroheñe?
6 How have the things of Esau been searched out! his treasures been sought up!
Akore ty fivolosañe i Esave, ty fikodebeañe o vara nakafi’eo.
7 Up to the boundary, have they sent thee—All thy covenant men, they have deceived thee, prevailed against thee—the men thou wast wont to salute, —The partakers of thy bread, have put a net under thee—No understanding in him!
Fa nanese azo pak’ añ’efe-tane eo o mpirimboñ’ ama’oo; nifañahie’ o nifampilongo ama’oo vaho nahagioke; fa nampipoke fandrik’ ambane’o ao o mpitrao-pikama ama’oo; (tsy ama’e ty hilala!)
8 Shall it not be, in that day, Demandeth Yahweh, —That I will destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of Mount Esau?
Ie amy andro zay, hoe t’Iehovà, tsy ho mongoreko Edome ao hao o mahihitseo naho am-bohi’ Esave ty faharendrehañe?
9 So shall thy mighty men, O Teman, be dismayed, —to the intent that every man, may be cut off, out of Mount Esau, by slaughter.
Hiroreke o fanalolahi’oo ry Temane, amy te ho fonga haitoañe am-pizamanañe am-bohi’ i Esave eo ondatio.
10 For thy violence against thy brother Jacob, shall shame, cover thee, —so shalt thou be cut off, to times age-abiding.
Hañoloñe azo ty fisalarañe ty amy nampisoaña’o an-drahalahi’o Iakobey, vaho haitoañe zafe-zanake irehe.
11 In the day when thou didst take thy stand over against him, in the day when foreigners took captive his forces, —and, aliens, entered his gates, and, over Jerusalem, cast lots, even thou, wast like one of them!
Ihe nijagarodoñe eo amy andro zay, amy andro nendese’ o ambahinio mb’eo o vara’eoy naho nizilike an-dalambei’e mb’eo o alik’ama’oo, vaho nanoe’ iereo tsatopiso t’Ierosalaime —ihe nimpiama’ iareo.
12 Do not, then, look with satisfaction upon the day of thy brother, upon the day of his calamity, Neither rejoice over the sons of Judah—in the day of their ruin, —nor enlarge thy mouth—in the day of distress:
Ho nisoa t’ie tsy nisamba an-drahalahi’o amy andron-kekoheko’ey, tsy ho nirebeke amy andro naha-rotsake o ana’ Iehodaoy; mbore tsy nimete ty nisaontsie’o añ’ebotsebotse amy andron-kankàñey.
13 Do not enter into the gate of my people—in the day of their misfortune, Do not, thou also, look with satisfaction on his misery—in the day of his misfortune; neither do thou thrust [thy hands] on his substance—in the day of his misfortune;
Tsy nimete ty nimoaha’o an-dalambei’ ondatikoo amy andron-kekoheko’ iareoy; Eka, tsy ho nisambà’o ty fisotria’e amy andron-kankà’ iareoy, ndra nampipao-pitàñe amo fanaña’ iareoo amy andro nitarañen-doza’ iareoy.
14 Neither do thou stand at the parting of the way, to cut off his fugitives, —neither do thou deliver up his survivors—in the day of distress.
Tsy nimete ty nijohaña’o am-pitsileañe eo hamonoa’o ze nipoliotse mb’eo; naho tsy ho nasese’o o sehanga’eo amy andron-kasotriañey.
15 For, near, is the day of Yahweh, upon all the nations, —Just as thou hast done, shall it be done to thee, Thy dealing, shall come back upon thine own head.
Fa mitotok’ amo kilakila’ ondatio ty andro’ Iehovà: hambañe amo sata’oo ty hanoeñe ama’o. habalik’ añ’ambone’o eo o fitoloña’oo
16 For, as ye have drunk on my holy mountain, all the nations shall drink continually, —Yea they shall drink and swallow down, and shall be, as though they had not been.
Fa manahake ty ninoma’ areo amy vohiko miavakey, ty hinoma’ o ambahinio nainai’e; ie hinoñe naho higenoke, vaho hanahake te mbe lia’e tsy teo.
17 But, in Mount Zion, shall be a delivered remnant which shall be holy, —and the house of Jacob shall possess their own possessions;
F’ie ambohi’ i Tsione ao ty nahapoliotse, ie ho miavake; vaho ho fanaña’ Iakobe o vara’ iareoo.
18 And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, with the house of Esau for stubble, So shall they kindle upon them, and devour them, —and there shall be no survivor to the house of Esau, for, Yahweh, hath spoken.
Le ho afo ty anjomba’ Iakobe, naho lel’afo ty anjomba’ Iosefe, naho ho ahetse ty anjomba’ i Esave, le ho viañe’ iereo ty ao, hamorototo iareo, vaho tsy hengañe honka’e ty añ’anjomba’ i Esave ao; fa nitsara t’Iehovà.
19 Then shall they of the South possess Mount Esau, and they of the Lowlands, the Philistines, and they [of the Mountain] shall possess the field of Ephraim, and the field of Samaria, —and Benjamin [shall possess] Gilead;
Ho a o tatimoo ty vohi’ i Esave, naho i monto’ o nte-Pilisty ambane eio, ho fanaña’ iareo ty tete’ i Efraime, naho ty tonda’ i Somerone, vaho ho fanaña’ i Beniamine t’i Gilade.
20 And, they of the captivity of this force pertaining to the sons of Israel, [shall possess] that of the Canaanites, up to Zarephath, and, they of the captivity of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the South.
Ho fanaña’ o nirohizañe amy valobohò’ o nte-Israeleoy ty a o nte-Kenàneo, pak’e Tsakrefate añe; vaho ho fanaña’ o mpirohi’ Ierosalaime e Sefaradeo o rova atimoo.
21 And saviours shall come up in Mount Zion, to judge the mountain of Esau, —So shall the kingdom, belong unto Yahweh.
Homb’an-kaboa’ i Tsione mb’eo o mpandrombakeo hizaka ty vohi’ i Esave; vaho ho a Iehovà i fifeheañey.
