Obadiah 1
1 The vision of Obadiah, —Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, concerning Edom—A rumour, have we heard from Yahweh, and, a herald, throughout the nations, hath been sent, Up! and let us rise against her to war.
Ny fahitan’ i Obadia. Izao no lazain’ i Jehovah Tompo ny amin’ i Edoma: Nahare filazana avy tamin’ i Jehovah izahay, Ary nisy iraka nalefa ho any amin’ ny jentilisa hanao hoe: Mitsangàna, aoka isika hitsangana hanafika azy!
2 Lo! small, have I made thee, among the nations—Despised art thou exceedingly!
Indro, hataoko tsinontsinona eo amin’ ny firenena ianao, Eny, ho fanazimbazimba indrindra ianao.
3 The insolence of thy heart, hath deceived thee, O thou that inhabitest the retreats of the crag, the height of his habitation, —that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?
Ny avonavon’ ny fonao no namitaka anao, Ry ilay monina ao an-tsefatsefaky ny harambato, Any amin’ ny fonenana avo, Sady manao anakampo hoe: Iza no hampivarina ahy ho eny an-tany?
4 Though thou build high like an eagle, and though, among the stars, thou set thy nest, from thence, will I bring thee down, Declareth Yahweh.
Na dia miakatra tahaka ny voromahery aza ianao Ka mametraka ny akaninao eny amin’ ny kintana, Dia havariko avy eny ianao, hoy Jehovah.
5 If, thieves, had come to thee, if robbers by night—how ruined thou art! Would they not have stolen what sufficed them? If, grape-gatherers, had come to thee, Would they not have left gleanings?
Raha, tahìny misy mpangalatra, na jiolahy alina, tonga ao aminao, (Indrisy, fongotra ianao!) Moa tsy izay hahafa-po azy ihany va no hangalariny? Raha tahìny misy mpioty voaloboka tonga ao aminao, Moa tsy hamela voaloboka sisa hotsimponina va izy?
6 How have the things of Esau been searched out! his treasures been sought up!
Endrey ny fitady ny an’ i Esao! Endrey ny fikatsaka ny hareny miafina!
7 Up to the boundary, have they sent thee—All thy covenant men, they have deceived thee, prevailed against thee—the men thou wast wont to salute, —The partakers of thy bread, have put a net under thee—No understanding in him!
Ny olona rehetra izay vita fanekena taminao no nampandeha anao hatramin’ ny sisin-tany; Izay tsara fihavanana aminao no namitaka ka naharesy anao; Izay mihinana ny haninao no namela-pandrika ao ambaninao Tsy misy fahalalana ao aminy!
8 Shall it not be, in that day, Demandeth Yahweh, —That I will destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of Mount Esau?
Moa tsy amin’ izany andro izany va, hoy Jehovah, no hamongorako ny olon-kendry ao Edoma, Sy ny manan-tsaina ao an-tendrombohitr’ i Esao?
9 So shall thy mighty men, O Teman, be dismayed, —to the intent that every man, may be cut off, out of Mount Esau, by slaughter.
Ary ho raiki-tahotra ny lehilahy maherinao, ry Temana, Mba haringana amin’ ny vonoana ho foana ny any an-tendrombohitr’ i Esao.
10 For thy violence against thy brother Jacob, shall shame, cover thee, —so shalt thou be cut off, to times age-abiding.
Noho ny fampahoriana an’ i Jakoba rahalahinao dia ho voasaron-kenatra ianao Ka ho fongotra mandrakizay.
11 In the day when thou didst take thy stand over against him, in the day when foreigners took captive his forces, —and, aliens, entered his gates, and, over Jerusalem, cast lots, even thou, wast like one of them!
Tamin’ ilay andro namitsahanao teny am-pita, Tamin’ ny andro namaboan’ ny vahiny ny fananany, Sy nidiran’ ny hafa firenena teo amin’ ny vavahadiny, Ary nanaovany loka an’ i Jerosalema, Dia mba toy ny anankiray tamin’ ireny koa ianao.
12 Do not, then, look with satisfaction upon the day of thy brother, upon the day of his calamity, Neither rejoice over the sons of Judah—in the day of their ruin, —nor enlarge thy mouth—in the day of distress:
Aza finaritra mijery ny andron’ ny rahalahinao amin’ ny andro ahitany loza izay tsy misy toa izany; Ary aza mifaly ny amin’ ny taranak’ i Joda amin’ ny andro andringanana azy; Ary aza manao teny miavonavona amin’ ny andro fahoriana
13 Do not enter into the gate of my people—in the day of their misfortune, Do not, thou also, look with satisfaction on his misery—in the day of his misfortune; neither do thou thrust [thy hands] on his substance—in the day of his misfortune;
Aza miditra amin’ ny vavahadin’ ny oloko amin’ ny andro ahitany loza; Aza finaritra mijery ny fahantrany amin’ ny andro ahitany loza ianao, Ary aza maninji-tàna haka ny fananany amin’ ny andro ahitany loza
14 Neither do thou stand at the parting of the way, to cut off his fugitives, —neither do thou deliver up his survivors—in the day of distress.
Aza mamitsaka eo amin’ ny sampanan-dalana hamono izay afa-nandositra ianao; Ary aza manolotra izay sisa aminy amin’ ny andro fahoriana.
15 For, near, is the day of Yahweh, upon all the nations, —Just as thou hast done, shall it be done to thee, Thy dealing, shall come back upon thine own head.
Fa efa antomotra amin’ ny jentilisa rehetra ny andron’ i Jehovah; Toy ny nataonao no mba hatao aminao kosa; Eny, hitsingerina ho eo an-dohanao ny nataonao.
16 For, as ye have drunk on my holy mountain, all the nations shall drink continually, —Yea they shall drink and swallow down, and shall be, as though they had not been.
Fa toy ny nisotroanareo teo an-tendrombohitra masìna, Dia toy izany koa no hisotroan’ ny firenena rehetra mandrakariva, Eny, hisotro izy ka hitelina, Ary ho toy ny tsy ary izy.
17 But, in Mount Zion, shall be a delivered remnant which shall be holy, —and the house of Jacob shall possess their own possessions;
Fa ao an-tendrombohitra Ziona dia hisy izay sisa afaka, Ary ho masìna izy; Ary ny taranak’ i Jakoba hahalasa ny fananany.
18 And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, with the house of Esau for stubble, So shall they kindle upon them, and devour them, —and there shall be no survivor to the house of Esau, for, Yahweh, hath spoken.
Ny taranak’ i Jakoba ho afo, Ary ny taranak’ i Josefa ho lelafo, Fa ny taranak’ i Esao kosa ho vodivary, Ary harehitr’ ireny izy ka holevoniny; Ary tsy hisy sisa afaka ny taranak’ i Esao, Fa Jehovah no efa niteny.
19 Then shall they of the South possess Mount Esau, and they of the Lowlands, the Philistines, and they [of the Mountain] shall possess the field of Ephraim, and the field of Samaria, —and Benjamin [shall possess] Gilead;
Ny any amin’ ny tany atsimo no hahalasa ny tendrombohitr’ i Esao; Ary ny any amin’ ny tany lemaka amoron-tsiraka no hahalasa ny Filistina; Hahalasa ny tanin’ ny Efraima sy ny tany Samaria izy; Ary Benjamina hahalasa an’ i Gileada.
20 And, they of the captivity of this force pertaining to the sons of Israel, [shall possess] that of the Canaanites, up to Zarephath, and, they of the captivity of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the South.
Ary ny babo amin’ izao Zanak’ Isiraely maro be izao hahalasa ny Kananita hatrany Zarefata, Ary ny babo tany Jerosalema, izay any Sefarada, dia hahalasa ny tanàna any amin’ ny tany atsimo.
21 And saviours shall come up in Mount Zion, to judge the mountain of Esau, —So shall the kingdom, belong unto Yahweh.
Ary hisy mpamonjy miakatra ho ao an-tendrombohitra Ziona Hitsara ny tendrombohitr’ i Esao; Ary ho an’ i Jehovah.
