Numbers 1

1 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses in the desert of Sinai in the tent of meeting, —on the first of the second month in the second year by their coming forth out of the land of Egypt saying:

இஸ்ரயேலர் எகிப்திலிருந்து வந்த இரண்டாம் வருடம் இரண்டாம் மாதம் முதலாம் நாள், சீனாய் பாலைவனத்தில், சபைக் கூடாரத்தில் யெகோவா மோசேயுடன் பேசினார். அவர் சொன்னதாவது:

2 Reckon ye up the sum of all the assembly of the sons of Israel, by their families by their ancestral houses, —in the counting of names, every male, by their polls;

“நீ இஸ்ரயேலின் முழு சமுதாயத்தையும், வம்சங்களின்படியும், குடும்பங்களின்படியும் கணக்கிடவேண்டும். ஒவ்வொருவரையும் பெயர் பெயராகப் பதிவு செய்யவேண்டும்.

3 from twenty years old and upwards, every one able to go forth to war in Israel, —ye shall number them by their hosts, thou and Aaron;

நீயும், ஆரோனும் படையில் பணிபுரியக்கூடிய இருபது வயதையும், அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட வயதையும் உடைய எல்லா இஸ்ரயேல் மனிதர்களையும், அவர்களுடைய பிரிவுகளின்படி கணக்கிடுங்கள்.

4 and with you, shall be one man for each tribe, —each man, head of his ancestral house, shall be.

இதற்காக ஒவ்வொரு கோத்திரத்திலிருந்தும், குடும்பத்தின் தலைவன் உனக்கு உதவிசெய்ய வேண்டும்.

5 These, then, are the names of the men who shall stand with you, —Of Reuben, Elizur, son of Shedeur;

“உனக்கு உதவியாய் இருக்கவேண்டியவர்களின் பெயர்களாவன: “ரூபன் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து சேதேயூரின் மகன் எலிசூர்;

6 Of Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;

சிமியோன் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து சூரிஷதாயின் மகன் செலூமியேல்,

7 Of Judah, Nahshon, son of Amminadab;

யூதா கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து அம்மினதாபின் மகன் நகசோன்,

8 Of Issachar, Nethanel, son of Zuar;

இசக்கார் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து சூவாரின் மகன் நெதனெயேல்,

9 Of Zebulun, Eliab, son of Helon;

செபுலோன் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து ஏலோனின் மகன் எலியாப்,

10 Of the sons of Joseph, —Of Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud; Of Manasseh, Gamaliel, son of Pedahzur;

யோசேப்பின் மகன்களான எப்பிராயீமின் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து அம்மியூதின் மகன் எலிஷாமா, மனாசே கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து பெதாசூரின் மகன் கமாலியேல்,

11 Of Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni;

பென்யமீன் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து கீதியோனியின் மகன் அபீதான்,

12 Of Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;

தாண் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து அம்மிஷதாயின் மகன் அகியேசேர்,

13 Of Asher, Pagiel, son of Ochran;

ஆசேர் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து ஓகிரானின் மகன் பாகியேல்,

14 Of Gad, Eliasaph son of Deuel;

காத் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து தேகுயேலின் மகன் எலியாசாப்,

15 Of Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan.

நப்தலி கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து ஏனானின் மகன் அகீரா.”

16 These, are they who had been summoned by the assembly, being princes of the tribes of their fathers, —heads of the thousands of Israel.

தங்களுடைய முற்பிதாக்களின் கோத்திரங்களின் தலைவர்களாக, இஸ்ரயேல் சமுதாயத்திலிருந்து நியமிக்கப்பட்ட மனிதர்கள் இவர்களே. இஸ்ரயேல் வம்சங்களின் தலைவர்களும் இவர்களே.

17 So then Moses and Aaron took these men, who were distinguished by name;

மோசேயும், ஆரோனும் பெயர் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட இம்மனிதரைச் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டார்கள்.

18 all the assembly also, called they together on the first of the second month, —and they declared their pedigree according to their families by their ancestral houses, —in the counting of names from twenty years old and upwards by their polls.

இரண்டாம் மாதம் முதலாம் நாளில், இஸ்ரயேலின் முழு சமுதாயத்தையும் ஒன்றுகூட்டினார்கள். மக்கள் தங்கள் பரம்பரையைத் தங்கள் வம்சங்களின்படியும், குடும்பங்களின்படியும் குறிப்பிட்டார்கள். இருபது வயதையும், அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட வயதையும் உடைய மனிதர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும், பெயர் பெயராகப் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள்.

19 As Yahweh commanded Moses, so he mustered them in the desert of Sinai.

யெகோவா மோசேக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே அவர்கள் செய்தார்கள். இப்படியாக சீனாய் பாலைவனத்தில் அவன் அவர்களைக் கணக்கிட்டான்.

20 And they were [as followeth] —The sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, in their pedigrees—by their families, by their ancestral houses, in the counting of names, by their polls, every male, from twenty years old and upwards, every one able to go forth to war;

21 such as were numbered of them as belonging to the tribe of Reuben, forty-six thousand and five hundred.

ரூபன் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்த எண்ணிக்கை 46,500 பேர்.

22 Of the sons of Simeon, in their pedigrees by their families by their ancestral houses, —such as were numbered of him, in the counting of names by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upwards, every one able to go forth to war;

சிமியோனின் சந்ததிகளிலிருந்து, இராணுவத்தில் பணிபுரியக்கூடிய, இருபது வயதையும் அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட வயதையும் உடைய எல்லோரும் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள். அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும், தங்களுடைய வம்ச பதிவின்படியும், குடும்ப பதிவின்படியும், பெயர் பெயராகப் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள்.

23 such as were numbered of them as belonging to the tribe of Simeon, fifty-nine thousand and three hundred.

24 Of the sons of Gad, in their pedigrees—by their families by their ancestral houses, in the counting of names from twenty years old and upwards, every one able to go forth to war:

காத்தின் சந்ததிகளிலிருந்து, இராணுவத்தில் பணிபுரியக்கூடிய இருபது வயதையும், அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட வயதையும் உடைய எல்லோரும் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள். அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும், தங்களுடைய வம்ச பதிவின்படியும், குடும்ப பதிவின்படியும், பெயர் பெயராகப் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள்.

25 such as were numbered of them as belonging to the tribe of Gad, forty-five thousand and six hundred and fifty.

காத் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்த எண்ணிக்கை 45,650 பேர்.

26 Of the sons of Judah, in their pedigrees by their families by their ancestral houses, —in the counting of names, from twenty years old and upwards, every one able to go forth to war;

யூதாவின் சந்ததிகளிலிருந்து, இராணுவத்தில் பணிபுரியக்கூடிய இருபது வயதையும், அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட வயதையும் உடைய எல்லோரும் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள். அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும், தங்களுடைய வம்ச பதிவின்படியும், குடும்ப பதிவின்படியும், பெயர் பெயராகப் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள்.

27 such as were numbered of them as belonging to the tribe of Judah, seventy-four thousand and six hundred.

யூதாவின் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்த எண்ணிக்கை 74,600 பேர்.

28 Of the sons of Issachar, in their pedigrees—by their families by their ancestral houses, —in the counting of names, from twenty year old and upwards, every one able to go forth to war;

இசக்கார் சந்ததிகளிலிருந்து, இராணுவத்தில் பணிபுரியக்கூடிய இருபது வயதையும், அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட வயதையும் உடைய எல்லோரும் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள். அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும், தங்களுடைய வம்ச பதிவின்படியும், குடும்ப பதிவின்படியும், பெயர் பெயராகப் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள்.

29 such as were numbered of them as belonging to the tribe of Issachar, fifty-four thousand and four hundred.

இசக்காரின் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்த எண்ணிக்கை 54,400 பேர்.

30 Of the sons of Zebulun, in their pedigrees—by their families by their ancestral houses, —in the counting of names from twenty years old and upwards, every one able to go forth to war;

செபுலோனின் சந்ததிகளிலிருந்து, இராணுவத்தில் பணிபுரியக்கூடிய இருபது வயதையும், அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட வயதையும் உடைய எல்லோரும் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள். அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும், தங்களுடைய வம்ச பதிவின்படியும், குடும்ப பதிவின்படியும் பெயர் பெயராகப் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள்.

31 such as were numbered of them as belonging to the tribe of Zebulun, fifty-seven thousand and four hundred.

செபுலோனின் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்த எண்ணிக்கை 57,400 பேர்.

32 Of the sons of Joseph—Of the sons of Ephraim, in their pedigrees—by their families by their ancestral houses, —in the counting of names, from twenty years old, and upwards, every one able to go forth to war;

யோசேப்பின் மகனான எப்பிராயீமின் சந்ததிகளிலிருந்து, இராணுவத்தில் பணிபுரியக்கூடிய இருபது வயதையும், அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட வயதையும் உடைய எல்லோரும் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள். அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும், தங்களுடைய வம்ச பதிவின்படியும், குடும்ப பதிவின்படியும் பெயர் பெயராகப் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள்.

33 such as were numbered of them, as belonging to the tribe of Ephraim, forty thousand and five hundred.

எப்பிராயீமின் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்த எண்ணிக்கை 40,500 பேர்.

34 Of the sons of Manasseh, in their pedigrees—by their families by their ancestral houses, —in the counting of names from twenty years old and upwards, every one able to go forth to war;

யோசேப்பின் மகனான மனாசேயின் சந்ததிகளிலிருந்து, இராணுவத்தில் பணிபுரியக்கூடிய இருபது வயதையும், அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட வயதையும் உடைய எல்லோரும் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள். அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும், தங்களுடைய வம்ச பதிவின்படியும், குடும்ப பதிவின்படியும் பெயர் பெயராகப் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள்.

35 such as were numbered of them as belonging to the tribe of Manasseh, thirty-two thousand, and two hundred.

மனாசேயின் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்த எண்ணிக்கை 32,200 பேர்.

36 Of the sons of Benjamin, in their pedigrees by their families, by their ancestral houses, —in the counting of names, from twenty years old, and upwards, every one able to go forth to war;

பென்யமீனின் சந்ததிகளிலிருந்து, இராணுவத்தில் பணிபுரியக்கூடிய இருபது வயதையும், அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட வயதையும் உடைய எல்லோரும் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள். அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும் தங்களுடைய வம்ச பதிவின்படியும், குடும்ப பதிவின்படியும் பெயர் பெயராகப் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள்.

37 such as were numbered of them as belonging to the tribe of Benjamin, thirty-five thousand and four hundred.

பென்யமீனின் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்த எண்ணிக்கை 35,400 பேர்.

38 Of the sons of Dan, in their pedigrees by their families by their ancestral houses, in the counting of names from twenty years old and upwards, every one able to go forth to war;

தாணின் சந்ததிகளிலிருந்து, இராணுவத்தில் பணிபுரியக்கூடிய இருபது வயதையும், அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட வயதையும் உடைய எல்லோரும் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள். அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும், தங்களுடைய வம்ச பதிவின்படியும், குடும்ப பதிவின்படியும், பெயர் பெயராகப் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள்.

39 such as were numbered of them as belonging to the tribe of Dan, sixty-two thousand, and seven hundred.

தாணின் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்த எண்ணிக்கை 62,700 பேர்.

40 Of the sons of Asher, in their pedigrees—by their families by their ancestral houses, —in the counting of names, from twenty years old, and upwards, every one able to go forth to war;

ஆசேரின் சந்ததிகளிலிருந்து, இராணுவத்தில் பணிபுரியக்கூடிய இருபது வயதையும், அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட வயதையும், உடைய எல்லோரும் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள். அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும், தங்களுடைய வம்ச பதிவின்படியும், குடும்ப பதிவின்படியும் பெயர் பெயராகப் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள்.

41 such as were numbered of them as belonging to the tribe of Asher, forty-one thousand, and five hundred.

ஆசேரின் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்த எண்ணிக்கை 41,500 பேர்.

42 The sons of Naphtali, in their pedigrees by their families by their ancestral houses, —in the counting of names, from twenty years old, and upwards, every one able to go forth to war;

நப்தலியின் சந்ததிகளிலிருந்து, இராணுவத்தில் பணிபுரியக்கூடிய இருபது வயதையும், அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட வயதையும் உடைய எல்லோரும் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள். அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும், தங்களுடைய வம்ச பதிவின்படியும், குடும்ப பதிவின்படியும் பெயர் பெயராகப் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள்.

43 such as were numbered of them, as belonging to the tribe of Naphtali, fifty-three thousand, and four hundred.

நப்தலியின் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்த எண்ணிக்கை 53,400 பேர்.

44 These, are they who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron and the twelve princes of Israel did number, the princes acting each one for his ancestral house.

மோசேயினாலும், ஆரோனாலும், தன்தன் குடும்பத்தைப் பிரதிநிதித்துவப்படுத்திய இஸ்ரயேலரின் பன்னிரண்டு தலைவர்களினாலும் எண்ணப்பட்ட மனிதர்கள் இவர்களே.

45 So then all they who were numbered of the sons of Israel by their ancestral houses, from twenty years old and upwards, every one able to go forth to war in Israel;

இஸ்ரயேலின் இராணுவத்தில் பணிசெய்யக்கூடிய இருபது வயதையும், அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட வயதையும் உடைய இஸ்ரயேலர் எல்லோரும் அவர்களுடைய குடும்பங்களின்படியே எண்ணப்பட்டார்கள்.

46 so then all they who were numbered were six hundred and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.

மொத்த எண்ணிக்கை 6,03,550 பேர்.

47 But the Levites by the tribe of their fathers were not numbered in their midst.

ஆனால், மற்றவர்களோடு லேவி கோத்திரத்தின் குடும்பங்கள் கணக்கிடப்படவில்லை.

48 For Yahweh spake unto Moses saying:

யெகோவா மோசேயிடம் சொல்லியிருந்ததாவது:

49 Only the tribe of Levi, shalt thou not number, nor the sum of them, shalt thou reckon up, in the midst of the sons of Israel.

“நீ லேவி கோத்திரத்தைக் கணக்கிடவோ, அவர்களை மற்ற இஸ்ரயேலருடன் மக்கள் தொகை கணக்கெடுக்கவோ வேண்டாம்.

50 But do, thou thyself, put the Levites in charge over the habitation of the testimony, and over all the furniture thereof and over all that pertaineth thereto, they, shall bear the habitation, and all the furniture thereof, and they, shall attend thereupon; and, round about the habitation, shall they encamp.

ஆனால் நீ லேவியரை சாட்சிபகரும் இறைசமுகக் கூடாரத்திற்கும், அதன் எல்லா பணிப்பொருட்களுக்கும், அதற்குரிய எல்லாவற்றிற்கும்மேல் பொறுப்பாக நியமிக்கவேண்டும். இறைசமுகக் கூடாரத்தையும், அதன் பணிமுட்டுகளையும் அவர்களே சுமக்கவேண்டும். அவர்களே அதைப் பராமரித்து, அதைச் சுற்றிலும் முகாமிடவேண்டும்.

51 And, when the habitation is to set forward, the Levites shall take it down, and when the habitation is to be pitched, the Levites, shall set it up, but the stranger that draweth near, shall be put to death.

எப்பொழுதாவது இறைசமுகக் கூடாரத்தை நகர்த்தவேண்டுமானால், லேவியரே அதைக் கழற்றவேண்டும். இறைசமுகக் கூடாரத்தை அமைக்கவேண்டுமென்றாலும் அதை லேவியரே செய்யவேண்டும். அதற்கு அருகில் செல்லும் வேறு எவனும் கொல்லப்படவேண்டும்.

52 So then the sons of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man, near his own camp, and, every man, near his own standard, by their hosts;

இஸ்ரயேலர் தங்கள் பிரிவுகளின்படியே கூடாரங்களை அமைக்கவேண்டும். ஒவ்வொருவனும் தன் சொந்தக் கூடாரத்தில் தன் சொந்தக் கொடியின்கீழ் இருக்கவேண்டும்.

53 but the Levites, shall pitch their tents round about the habitation of the testimony, that there be no wrath upon the assembly of the sons of Israel, —so shall the Levites keep the watch of the habitation of the testimony.

ஆனாலும், இஸ்ரயேல் சமுதாயத்தின்மேல் கோபம் வராதபடிக்கு லேவியர்கள் உடன்படிக்கைக் கூடாரத்தைச் சுற்றி தங்கள் முகாமிடவேண்டும். உடன்படிக்கைக் கூடாரத்தின் பராமரிப்புக்கு லேவியரே பொறுப்பாயிருக்க வேண்டும்.”

54 Thus did the sons of Israel, —according to all that Yahweh commanded Moses, so, did they.

யெகோவா மோசேக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே இஸ்ரயேலர் இவற்றையெல்லாம் செய்தார்கள்.
