Numbers 1
1 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses in the desert of Sinai in the tent of meeting, —on the first of the second month in the second year by their coming forth out of the land of Egypt saying:
Och HERREN talade till Mose i Sinais öken, i uppenbarelsetältet, på första dagen i andra månaden av det andra året efter deras uttåg ur Egyptens land; han sade:
2 Reckon ye up the sum of all the assembly of the sons of Israel, by their families by their ancestral houses, —in the counting of names, every male, by their polls;
"Räknen antalet av Israels barn, deras hela menighet, efter deras släkter och efter deras familjer, vart namn räknat särskilt, allt mankön, var person för sig;
3 from twenty years old and upwards, every one able to go forth to war in Israel, —ye shall number them by their hosts, thou and Aaron;
alla stridbara män i Israel, de män som äro tjugu år gamla eller därutöver, dem skolen I inmönstra efter deras häravdelningar, du och Aron.
4 and with you, shall be one man for each tribe, —each man, head of his ancestral house, shall be.
I skolen därvid taga till eder en man av var stam, den som är huvudman för sin stams familjer.
5 These, then, are the names of the men who shall stand with you, —Of Reuben, Elizur, son of Shedeur;
Och dessa äro namnen på de män som skola biträda eder: av Ruben: Elisur, Sedeurs son;
6 Of Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;
av Simeon: Selumiel, Surisaddais son;
7 Of Judah, Nahshon, son of Amminadab;
av Juda: Naheson, Amminadabs son;
8 Of Issachar, Nethanel, son of Zuar;
av Isaskar: Netanel, Suars son;
9 Of Zebulun, Eliab, son of Helon;
av Sebulon: Eliab, Helons son;
10 Of the sons of Joseph, —Of Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud; Of Manasseh, Gamaliel, son of Pedahzur;
av Josefs barn: av Efraim: Elisama, Ammihuds son; av Manasse: Gamliel, Pedasurs son;
11 Of Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni;

13 Of Asher, Pagiel, son of Ochran;

15 Of Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan.

16 These, are they who had been summoned by the assembly, being princes of the tribes of their fathers, —heads of the thousands of Israel.

17 So then Moses and Aaron took these men, who were distinguished by name;
Och Mose och Aron togo till sig dessa namngivna män;
18 all the assembly also, called they together on the first of the second month, —and they declared their pedigree according to their families by their ancestral houses, —in the counting of names from twenty years old and upwards by their polls.
och sedan de hade församlat hela menigheten på första dagen i andra månaden, blev folket infört i förteckningen efter sina släkter och efter sina familjer, vart namn räknat särskilt, de som voro tjugu år gamla eller därutöver, var person för sig,
19 As Yahweh commanded Moses, so he mustered them in the desert of Sinai.
allt såsom HERREN hade bjudit Mose; och han mönstrade dem i Sinais öken.
20 And they were [as followeth] —The sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, in their pedigrees—by their families, by their ancestral houses, in the counting of names, by their polls, every male, from twenty years old and upwards, every one able to go forth to war;
Och avkomlingarna av Rubens, Israels förstföddes, söner, upptecknade efter sina släkter och efter sina familjer, vart namn räknat särskilt, var person för sig, alla av mankön som voro tjugu år gamla eller därutöver, alla stridbara män,
21 such as were numbered of them as belonging to the tribe of Reuben, forty-six thousand and five hundred.
så många av Rubens stam som inmönstrades, utgjorde fyrtiosex tusen fem hundra.
22 Of the sons of Simeon, in their pedigrees by their families by their ancestral houses, —such as were numbered of him, in the counting of names by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upwards, every one able to go forth to war;

24 Of the sons of Gad, in their pedigrees—by their families by their ancestral houses, in the counting of names from twenty years old and upwards, every one able to go forth to war:

25 such as were numbered of them as belonging to the tribe of Gad, forty-five thousand and six hundred and fifty.

26 Of the sons of Judah, in their pedigrees by their families by their ancestral houses, —in the counting of names, from twenty years old and upwards, every one able to go forth to war;

28 Of the sons of Issachar, in their pedigrees—by their families by their ancestral houses, —in the counting of names, from twenty year old and upwards, every one able to go forth to war;

42 The sons of Naphtali, in their pedigrees by their families by their ancestral houses, —in the counting of names, from twenty years old, and upwards, every one able to go forth to war;

43 such as were numbered of them, as belonging to the tribe of Naphtali, fifty-three thousand, and four hundred.
så många av Naftali stam som inmönstrades, utgjorde femtiotre tusen fyra hundra.
44 These, are they who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron and the twelve princes of Israel did number, the princes acting each one for his ancestral house.
Dessa voro de inmönstrade, de som blevo inmönstrade av Mose och Aron och Israels hövdingar, tolv män, som företrädde var och en sin stamfamilj.
45 So then all they who were numbered of the sons of Israel by their ancestral houses, from twenty years old and upwards, every one able to go forth to war in Israel;
Och alla de av Israels barn som inmönstrades, efter deras familjer, de som voro tjugu år gamla eller därutöver, alla stridbara män i Israel,
46 so then all they who were numbered were six hundred and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.
alla dessa inmönstrade utgjorde sex hundra tre tusen fem hundra femtio.
47 But the Levites by the tribe of their fathers were not numbered in their midst.
Men leviterna i sin fädernestam blevo icke inmönstrade med de övriga.
48 For Yahweh spake unto Moses saying:
Ty HERREN talade till Mose och sade:
49 Only the tribe of Levi, shalt thou not number, nor the sum of them, shalt thou reckon up, in the midst of the sons of Israel.
Levi stam allenast skall du icke inmönstra, och du skall icke räkna antalet av dem med de övriga israeliterna;
50 But do, thou thyself, put the Levites in charge over the habitation of the testimony, and over all the furniture thereof and over all that pertaineth thereto, they, shall bear the habitation, and all the furniture thereof, and they, shall attend thereupon; and, round about the habitation, shall they encamp.
utan du skall förordna leviterna att förestå vittnesbördets tabernakel med alla dess redskap och alla dess tillbehör. De skola bära tabernaklet och alla dess redskap och göra tjänst därvid; och runt omkring tabernaklet skola de hava sitt läger.
51 And, when the habitation is to set forward, the Levites shall take it down, and when the habitation is to be pitched, the Levites, shall set it up, but the stranger that draweth near, shall be put to death.
När tabernaklet skall bryta upp, skola leviterna nedtaga det, och när tabernaklet skall slås upp, skola leviterna uppsätta det; men om någon främmande kommer därvid, skall han dödas.
52 So then the sons of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man, near his own camp, and, every man, near his own standard, by their hosts;
De övriga israeliterna skola lägra sig var och en i sitt läger, och var och en under sitt baner, efter sina häravdelningar;
53 but the Levites, shall pitch their tents round about the habitation of the testimony, that there be no wrath upon the assembly of the sons of Israel, —so shall the Levites keep the watch of the habitation of the testimony.
men leviterna skola lägra sig runt omkring vittnesbördets tabernakel, för att icke förtörnelse må komma över Israels barns menighet; och leviterna skola iakttaga vad som är att iakttaga vid vittnesbördets tabernakel.
54 Thus did the sons of Israel, —according to all that Yahweh commanded Moses, so, did they.
Och Israels barn gjorde så; de gjorde i alla stycken såsom HERREN hade bjudit Mose.
