< Numbers 32 >

1 Now, much cattle, had come into the possession of the sons of Reuben and of the sons of Gad, an exceeding mighty number. And when they saw the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead, lo! the place, was a place for cattle.
Reuben leh Gad chilhahten bong hon tampi anavul un ahi. Chuin Jazer gam leh Gilead gam amudoh taovin ahile, hiche mun chu bong honte vahna ding’a ki lem tah a sohdoh tan ahi.
2 So the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben came in, —and spake unto Moses and unto Eleazar the priest, and unto the princes of assembly, saying,
Chuin Gad chate ahin Reuben chate ahin Mose leh Eleazer thempupa leh khoppi lamkai ho jouse hengah ahung un hiti hin a sei tauvin ahi.
3 As touching Ataroth and Dibon, and Jazer and Nimrah, and Heshbon, and Elealeh, —and Sebam and Nebo, and Beon-

4 the land which Yahweh smote before the assembly of Israel, a land for cattle, it is, —and, thy servants, have cattle.
Pakaiyin mitmu changtah ah hichete ho Israel khoppi ana suhmang ahin, hiche gamsung chu bong vahna ding mong mong in aum tan, lhacha a pang ho jeng in jong bong ka nei uve atiuvin ahi.
5 And they said—If we have found favour in thine eyes, let this land be given unto thy servants, for a possession, —do not take us over the Jordan.
Chuin hiti hin aseijun, namitmua na lunglhaina lam katouva ahile, hiche gamsung hi nalhacha keiho chanvou in neisem peh tauvin, Jordan vadung gal lamma vang nei puida tauvin, tin asei uve.
6 Then said Moses unto the sons of Gad and unto the sons of Reuben, —Shall, your brethren, go into the war, and ye, settle down here?
Mose’n jong Gad leh Reuben chate henga aseijin, na sopite hou galsat laitah a hi nangho tou thip beh a um deng ding na tiuham.
7 Wherefore, then, should ye dissuade the heart of the sons of Israel, from passing over into the land which Yahweh hath given to them?
Pakai, Pathen in a pehsa hiche gamsunga alut diu chu ipi dinga na lungthoi sah jeng’u ham?
8 Thus, did your fathers, —when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea, to view the land,
Napate uvin jong Kadesh Barnea apat hiche gam velhi dinga ka sol chun hiti hin asei un ahi.
9 and they went up as far as the ravine of Eschol, and viewed the land, and then dissuaded the heart of the sons of Israel from entering into the land, which Yahweh had given them.
Abonchauvin Eshcol phaicham geijin akitol tauvin, hiche gamsung chu amit tah uvin agamu tauve, Pakaiyin Israel chate apehsa gamsung alut diu sa chu ana lung thoisah jeng tauvin ahi.
10 Then was the anger of Yahweh kindled on that day, —and he sware, saying:
Hiche nikho chun Pakai, Pathen alung hang doh jeng tan ahile hiti hin ki hahselna anei tan ahi.
11 Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt from twenty years old and upwards, shall see the soil, which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac and unto Jacob, because they have not followed after me fully;
Kum somnia lhah chunglam se, Egypt gamsung’a konna hungpot doh hon, Isaac, Abraham leh Jacob henga ka kitep nasa gamsunga chu lut theilou hel diu ahitai. Ajeh chu amaho hin cham kimsel in kanung ajui tapouvin ahi.
12 save Caleb son of Jephunneh, the Kenezite, and Joshua, son of Nun, —for they followed after Yahweh, fully.
Keniz apat Jephunneh cha Caleb leh Nun chapa Joshua kalvalla adang koima chan hiche gamsung khu amuthei lou ding ahi. Ajeh chu amani hin Chamkim sella Pakai, Pathen nung ajuilhon ahi.
13 So the anger of Yahweh kindled upon Israel, and he made them wander in the desert, forty years, —until all the generation who had done the evil in the eyes of Yahweh, had wasted away!
Israel chung’a Pakai, Pathen alunghang jeng tan ahile, chuin Israel mite hiche khang mite ho chu Pakai mitmua thilse bol jouse athigam kahsen kum som li sung in gamthip noiya avale sah tan ahi.
14 Lo! therefore, ye have arisen in the room of your fathers, a brood of sinful men, —to heap up yet more upon the heat of the anger of Yahweh, towards Israel.
Nangho jong napu napate hou akonna chonsetna chun nahin jui peh taovin, hijeh chun Israel mite chunga Pakai lung hanna chu asang jocheh a lung hansah ding nagel uve!
15 If ye do turn away from following him, then will he yet again leave them behind in the desert, —so shall ye bring destruction upon all this people.
Chule Pakai nung najuina uva konna na kihei mang hel uva ahile, aman hiche mite hohi gamthip noiya don louva ahin koi ding, chu teng hiche mite ho chunga hi manthahna na alhunsah teitei ding ahi tai, ati.
16 Then came they near unto him, and said, Folds, for flocks, would we build for our cattle, here, —and cities for our little ones;
Chuin Gad leh Reuben chate Mose ang sung’a ahung lut tauvin, hiti hin asei uve, hiche muna hin kelngoinou tampi ka nei uvin, hijeh chun kelngoi kul ka sempeh uva, chule ka cha ka naote hou dinga jong chenna in phabep ka sah peh diu ahi.
17 but, we, would arm ourselves promptly, before the sons of Israel, until that we have brought them into their place, —so should our little ones remain in the fortified cities, because of the inhabitants of the land.
Khat cheh in manchah kapat uva, Israel mite gal lamkaiya ka pan diu, amaho jouse chenna ding mun kamu kahse uva kigosa demma umjing ka hiuvin, ahinlah a gamsunga chengte ho jal a hi numei chapang ho kulpi kaikhum ma ven bit ding ka tiu ahi.
18 We would not return unto our houses, —until the sons of Israel have possessed themselves each man, of his inheritance.
Chule Israel chaten khat cheh a chen mun anei kahse’a keiho inlam hung kile lou ding kahi tauve.
19 For we would not inherit with them, over the Jordan, and onwards, —because our inheritance hath come unto us on this side the Jordan towards sunrise.
Ajeh chu amaho toh Jordan vadung gal lamma khu gou kalo khom thei lou diu ahi. Solam gamkai Jordan lam hi keiho goulo ding a hung kisep doh ahitai.
20 And Moses said unto them, If ye will indeed do this thing, —if ye will arm yourselves, before Yahweh, for the war;
Chuin Mose’n jong amaho jouse henga aseijin, na bonchao va hitia hi na bolsoh kei diu, khat cheh manchah toh na kondoh uva, Pakai ansunga galsat dinga na kon doh sohkei diu ahi.
21 and every armed man of you pass over the Jordan before Yahweh, —until he hath dispossessed his enemies, from before him;
Gal manchah choi jouse Jordan vadung na galkai soh kei diu, chu teng Pakaiyin amasang lama amel mate asat gamhel kahsea Pakai angsunga gal na sat jing diu ahi.
22 and the land be subdued before Yahweh then afterwards, shall ye return, and shall be acquitted by Yahweh and by Israel, —and this land shall be yours for a possession before Yahweh.
Hiche gamsung chu Pakaija konna athua ki nunsah na ahung um doh teng leh na boncha uva Israel mite na chung uva kigahna ho Jousea konna na onthol diu, na hung kinung lekit uva chu teng hiche gamsung hi Pakai, Pathen jal'a nangho jouse chenna hiding ahi tai.
23 But, if ye shall not do this, lo! ye will have sinned against Yahweh, —and take note of your sin, that it will find you out.
Hi tabang’a hi nabol lou uva ahile, nangho jouse jong Pakai doumah a umna hidiu, hiche na chonset nau hin na hin holdoh teidiu ahi, tihi kichih theijun, ati.
24 Build you cities for your little ones, and folds for your flocks, —and then that which hath gone forth from your mouth, ye shall do.
Na numei chapang ho ding in chen mun phabep sahpeh unlang, na kelngoi tehou kul jong sem peh uvin lang, amavang na kitepna’u aboncha na bolsoh kei diu ahi.
25 Then spake the sons of Gad, and the sons of Reuben unto Moses, saying, —thy servants, will do, as, my lord, is giving command.
Chuin Gad leh Reuben chate hon Pakai henga hiti hin asei tauvin ahi. Nei thupeh bang bang uva na lhacha ten ka bol jing diu ahiye.
26 Our little ones, our wives, our cattle, and all our beasts, shall remain there in the cities of Gilead;

27 and thy servants, will pass over every one armed for war, before Yahweh to battle, —as, my lord is speaking.
Ka heng uva na thu lhah banga hi nalhacha te galman chah panna Pakai angsunga galsat ding in Jordan vadung galkai soh kei diu kahi, ati.
28 So Moses gave command concerning them, unto Eleazar the priest and unto Joshua son of Nun, and unto the heads of the fathers of the tribes, of the sons of Israel;
Chuin Mose’n aboncha’u chung thudol a Eleazer thempupa ahin Nun chapa Joshua chule Israel chate phung kailhah ama ama pa janglhah cheh henga thu ape tan ahi.
29 and Moses said unto them—If the sons of Gad and the son of Reuben will pass with you over the Jordan, every one armed for the war before Yahweh, and the land be subdued before you, then shall ye give unto them the land of Gilead, for a possession.
Mose’n amaho henga hiti chun thu aseijin, Gad chate ahin Reuben chate abonchauva galmanchah choiya Pakai angsunga galsat dinga Jordan vadung agalkai soh kei uva, agam jeng jong hi Pakai angsunga ama thua anun a ahile, Gilead gam mun hi Amaho chen mun ding’a na peh doh jeng diu ahi.
30 But, if they will not pass over armed, with you, then shall they accept a possession in your midst, in the land of Canaan.
Ahinlah amaho hin gal manchah la kichoi ngal uva nangho jaona agal kaikhom tah lou uva ahile, amaho hin Canaan gamsung’a nangho jouse lah’a chenna mun anei lou diu ahi.
31 Then responded the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben, saying, —That which Yahweh had spoken unto thy servants, so, will we do.
Chuin Gad chate leh Reuben chaten ahenga hiti hin asei un, na lhacha ho josue henga Pakaiyin asei bang banga keihon jong ka suh-bukim soh kei diu ahi, tai.
32 We, will pass over armed, before Yahweh into the land of Canaan, —then shall be ours, the possession of our inheritance across the Jordan.

33 So then Moses gave unto them even unto the sons of Gad and unto the sons of Reuben and unto the half tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph the kingdom of sihon, king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og, the king of Bashan, the land by her cities with boundaries, even the cities of the land round about.

34 And the sons of Gad built Dibon, and Ataroth, —and Aroer;

35 and Atroth-shophan and Jazer, and Jogbehah;

37 And the sons of Reuben built Heshbon, and Elealeh, —and Kiriathaim,

39 Then went the sons of Machir son of Manasseh to Gilead, and captured it, and dispossessed the Amorites who were therein,
Chuin Manasseh chapa Machir chate acheuvin Gilead agasat uvin ahile ahin jou tauve, agamsunga ana cheng Amor mite chu abonchaovin adel jam gamhel taovin ahi.
