Numbers 27
1 Then came near the daughters of Zelophehad, son of Hepher, son of Gilead son of Machir son of Manasseh pertaining to the families of Manasseh, son of Joseph, —these being the names of his daughters, Mahlah Noah and Hoglah and Milcah, and Tirzah.
Entonces llegaron las hijas de Zelofejad, hijo de Hefer, hijo de Galaad, hijo de Maquir, hijo de Manasés, de las familias de Manasés, hijo de José, los nombres de los cuales eran Maala, Noa, Hogla, Milca y Tirsa.
2 So they stood before Moses and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes, and all the assembly, —at the entrance of the tent of meeting, saying:
Ellas se presentaron ante Moisés, el sacerdote Eleazar, los jefes y toda la congregación, en la entrada del Tabernáculo de Reunión, y dijeron:
3 Our father, died in the desert, although, he, was not among the assembly that conspired against Yahweh, in the assembly of Korah, —but, in his own sin, died he; and sons, had he none.
Nuestro padre murió en el desierto. Él no estuvo en compañía de los que se reunieron contra Yavé en el grupo de Coré, sino murió por su propio pecado. No tuvo hijos varones.
4 Wherefore should the name of our father be withdrawn out of the midst of his family, because he had no son? Give ye unto us a possession, in the midst of the brethren of our father.
¿Por qué el nombre de nuestro padre es excluido de su familia, por no tener un hijo varón? Dennos posesión entre los hermanos de nuestro padre.
5 And Moses brought near their cause before Yahweh.
Moisés presentó su causa delante de Yavé,
6 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:
y Yavé respondió a Moisés:
7 A right thing, are the daughters of Zelophehad speaking: Thou shalt, surely give, them a possession for an inheritance, in the midst of the brethren of their father, —and shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass over unto them.
Las hijas de Zelofejad dicen bien. Les darás posesión de herencia entre los hermanos de su padre y traspasarás la heredad de su padre a ellas.
8 And unto the sons of Israel, shalt thou speak, saying, —When, any man, shall die, having no son, then shall ye cause his inheritance to pass over to his daughter.
A los hijos de Israel hablarás: Cuando alguien muera sin hijo varón, traspasarán su herencia a su hija.
9 And, if he hath no daughter, then shall ye give his inheritance unto his, brethren.
Si no tiene hija, darán su herencia a sus hermanos,
10 And if he hath no brethren, then shall ye give his inheritance unto the brethren of his father.
y si no tiene hermanos, darán su herencia a los hermanos de su padre.
11 And, if his father hath no brethren, then shall ye give his inheritance unto his blood-relation that is near unto him of his family, and he shall possess it, —So shall it serve the sons of Israel as a regulative statute, As Yahweh commanded Moses.
Si su padre no tiene hermanos, darán su herencia al pariente más cercano de su familia, el cual la poseerá. Esto será para los hijos de Israel un estatuto de justo juicio, como Yavé ordenó a Moisés.
12 And Yahweh said unto Moses, Go up into this mount of Abarim, —and see, the land which I have given unto the sons of Israel;
Yavé dijo a Moisés: Sube a esta montaña de Abarim, y contempla la tierra que di a los hijos de Israel.
13 And, when thou hast seen it, then shalt thou also be withdrawn unto thy kinsfolk, —as Aaron thy brother was withdrawn;
Y cuando la contemples, tú también serás reunido a tu pueblo, como tu hermano Aarón fue reunido,
14 because ye resisted my bidding—in the desert of Zin when the assembly contended, —that ye should hallow me regarding the waters, before their eyes, —the same, were the waters of Meribah, of Kadesh in the desert of Zin.
porque fueron rebeldes a mi mandato en el desierto de Zin, en la rebelión de la congregación. No me santificaron en cuanto al agua ante los ojos de ellos. (Estas son las aguas de Meriba en Cades, en el desierto de Zin.)
15 Then spake Moses unto Yahweh saying:
Entonces Moisés respondió a Yavé:
16 Let Yahweh, God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the assembly;
Yavé, ʼElohim de los espíritus de todo ser humano, designe un varón que dirija la congregación,
17 who may go out before them and who may come in before them, and who may take them out and who may bring them in, —that the assembly of Yahweh become not as sheep that have no shepherd.
que salga y entre delante de ellos, que los saque y los introduzca, para que la congregación de Yavé no sea como ovejas que no tienen pastor.
18 And Yahweh said unto Moses: Take thee Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom is spirit, —then shalt thou lean thy hand upon him;
Yavé dijo a Moisés: Toma a Josué, hijo de Nun, un varón en el cual hay Espíritu, e impón tu mano sobre él.
19 and shalt cause him to stand before Eleazar the priest, and before all the assembly, —and shalt charge him before their eyes;
Lo pondrás en pie ante el sacerdote Eleazar y de toda la congregación, y lo comisionarás en presencia de ellos.
20 and shalt put some of thine honour upon him, —that all the assembly of the sons of Israel may hearken.
Impondrás algo de tu autoridad sobre él para que toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel le obedezca.
21 And, before Eleazar the priest, shall he stand, and shall ask by him for the decision of the Lights, before Yahweh, —at the bidding thereof, shall they go out, and at the bidding thereof, shall they come in—he, and all the sons of Israel with him, even all the assembly.
Además, él se pondrá en pie ante el sacerdote Eleazar y le consultará por medio del juicio del Urim delante de Yavé. Por su mandato todos los hijos de Israel, toda la congregación saldrán y entrarán.
22 And Moses did as Yahweh commanded him, —and took Joshua, and caused him to stand before Eleazar the priest, and before all the assembly;
Moisés hizo como Yavé le mandó. Tomó a Josué y lo presentó ante el sacerdote Eleazar y toda la congregación.
23 and leaned his hands upon him and charged him, —As Yahweh spake by the hand of Moses.
Luego impuso sus manos sobre él y lo comisionó, como Yavé habló por medio de Moisés.
