Numbers 27
1 Then came near the daughters of Zelophehad, son of Hepher, son of Gilead son of Machir son of Manasseh pertaining to the families of Manasseh, son of Joseph, —these being the names of his daughters, Mahlah Noah and Hoglah and Milcah, and Tirzah.
Niin tulivat edes Zelophkadin tyttäret, Hephrin pojan, Gileadin pojan, Makirin pojan, Manassen pojan, Manassen Josephin pojan suvusta, ja nämät olivat hänen tytärtensä nimet: Makla, Noa, Hogla, Milka ja Tirtsa.
2 So they stood before Moses and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes, and all the assembly, —at the entrance of the tent of meeting, saying:
Ja he astuivat Moseksen ja papin Eleatsarin, ja päämiesten, ja kaiken kansan eteen, seurakunnan majan ovelle, ja sanoivat:
3 Our father, died in the desert, although, he, was not among the assembly that conspired against Yahweh, in the assembly of Korah, —but, in his own sin, died he; and sons, had he none.
Meidän isämme kuoli korvessa, eikä hän ollut siinä joukossa, jotka metelin nostivat Herraa vastaan Koran kapinassa, mutta on synnissänsä kuollut: ja ei ollut hänellä poikia.
4 Wherefore should the name of our father be withdrawn out of the midst of his family, because he had no son? Give ye unto us a possession, in the midst of the brethren of our father.
Miksi meidän isämme nimen pitää tuleman suvustansa pois, sentähden ettei hänellä ollut yhtään poikaa? antakaat meille osa isämme veljein seassa.
5 And Moses brought near their cause before Yahweh.
Ja Moses tuotti heidän asiansa Herran eteen.
6 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:
Ja Herra puhui Mosekselle, sanoen:
7 A right thing, are the daughters of Zelophehad speaking: Thou shalt, surely give, them a possession for an inheritance, in the midst of the brethren of their father, —and shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass over unto them.
Zelophkadin tyttäret ovat oikein puhuneet: sinun pitää kaiketi antaman perintöosan heille heidän isänsä veljein seassa, ja saattaman heidän isänsä perimisen heille.
8 And unto the sons of Israel, shalt thou speak, saying, —When, any man, shall die, having no son, then shall ye cause his inheritance to pass over to his daughter.
Ja puhu Israelin lapsille, sanoen: jos joku kuolee ilman pojata, niin teidän pitää antaman hänen perimisensä hänen tyttärellensä.
9 And, if he hath no daughter, then shall ye give his inheritance unto his, brethren.
Jollei hänellä ole tytärtä, niin teidän pitää sen perimisen hänen veljillensä antaman.
10 And if he hath no brethren, then shall ye give his inheritance unto the brethren of his father.
Ja jollei hänellä ole veljiä; niin teidän pitää sen antaman hänen sedillensä.
11 And, if his father hath no brethren, then shall ye give his inheritance unto his blood-relation that is near unto him of his family, and he shall possess it, —So shall it serve the sons of Israel as a regulative statute, As Yahweh commanded Moses.
Jollei hänellä ole setiä, niin teidän pitää sen antaman hänen lähimmäiselle sukulaisellensa, joka hänen lähimmäinen lankonsa on hänen suvustansa, että hän sen omistaa. Tämä pitää oleman Israelin lapsille sääty ja oikeus, niinkuin Herra on Mosekselle käskenyt.
12 And Yahweh said unto Moses, Go up into this mount of Abarim, —and see, the land which I have given unto the sons of Israel;
Ja Herra sanoi Mosekselle: astu ylös tälle Abarimin vuorelle, ja katsele sitä maata, jonka minä Israelin lapsille annan.
13 And, when thou hast seen it, then shalt thou also be withdrawn unto thy kinsfolk, —as Aaron thy brother was withdrawn;
Ja kuin sen nähnyt olet, niin sinäkin kootaan kansas tykö, niinkuin sinun veljes Aaron koottu on.
14 because ye resisted my bidding—in the desert of Zin when the assembly contended, —that ye should hallow me regarding the waters, before their eyes, —the same, were the waters of Meribah, of Kadesh in the desert of Zin.
Sillä te olitte minun sanalleni kovakorvaiset Sinin korvessa kansan toruessa, kuin teidän piti minua pyhittämän veden kautta heidän edessänsä. Se on se riitavesi Kadeksessa, Sinin korvessa.
15 Then spake Moses unto Yahweh saying:
Ja Moses puhui Herralle, sanoen:
16 Let Yahweh, God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the assembly;
Herra, kaiken lihan henkein Jumala asettakaan miehen kansan päälle,
17 who may go out before them and who may come in before them, and who may take them out and who may bring them in, —that the assembly of Yahweh become not as sheep that have no shepherd.
Joka heidän edessänsä kävis ulos ja sisälle, ja veis heitä ulos ja sisälle, ettei Herran kansa olisi niinkuin lampaat ilman paimenta.
18 And Yahweh said unto Moses: Take thee Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom is spirit, —then shalt thou lean thy hand upon him;
Ja Herra sanoi Mosekselle: ota Josua Nunin poika sinun tykös, joka on mies, jossa henki on, ja pane sinun kätes hänen päällensä,
19 and shalt cause him to stand before Eleazar the priest, and before all the assembly, —and shalt charge him before their eyes;
Ja aseta hänet papin Eleatsarin ja kaiken kansan eteen, ja käske hänelle heidän silmäinsä edessä.
20 and shalt put some of thine honour upon him, —that all the assembly of the sons of Israel may hearken.
Ja pane sinun kunniastas hänen päällensä, että kaikki kansa Israelin lapsista olisivat hänelle kuuliaiset.
21 And, before Eleazar the priest, shall he stand, and shall ask by him for the decision of the Lights, before Yahweh, —at the bidding thereof, shall they go out, and at the bidding thereof, shall they come in—he, and all the sons of Israel with him, even all the assembly.
Ja hänen pitää papin Eleatsarin eteen astuman, hänen pitää kysymän neuvoa hänen edestänsä valkeuden säädyllä Herran edessä, ja hänen suunsa jälkeen pitää hänen käymän ulos ja sisälle, sekä hänen että Israelin lasten hänen kanssansa, ja koko seurakunnan.
22 And Moses did as Yahweh commanded him, —and took Joshua, and caused him to stand before Eleazar the priest, and before all the assembly;
Ja Moses teki niinkuin Herra hänelle käski, ja otti Josuan ja asetti hänen papin Eleatsarin ja koko seurakunnan eteen,
23 and leaned his hands upon him and charged him, —As Yahweh spake by the hand of Moses.
Ja laski kätensä hänen päällensä, ja käski hänelle, niinkuin Herra oli Mosekselle puhunut.
