Numbers 26
1 And it came to pass, after the plague, that Yahweh spake unto Moses, and unto Eleazar son of Aaron the priest, saying:
૧મરકી બંધ થયા પછી યહોવાહે મૂસાને તથા હારુન યાજકના પુત્ર એલાઝારને કહ્યું,
2 Reckon ye up the sum of all the assembly of the sons of Israel from twenty years old and upwards, by their ancestral houses, —every one able to go forth to war in Israel.
૨“ઇઝરાયલી લોકોની આખી જમાતમાં જેઓ વીસ વર્ષના કે તેથી વધારે ઉંમરના હોય, એટલે કે જેઓ ઇઝરાયલ માટે યુદ્ધમાં જવાને સમર્થ હોય તેઓની તથા તેઓના પિતૃઓના કુટુંબોની ગણતરી કર.”
3 So then Moses and Eleazar the priest spake with them, in the waste plains of Moab, —by the Jordan near Jericho saying:
૩યર્દન નદીને કિનારે યરીખોના, મોઆબના મેદાનમાં મૂસા તથા એલાઝાર યાજકે તેઓની સાથે વાત કરી કે,
4 From twenty years old and upwards, As Yahweh commanded Moses, and the sons of Israel, who had come forth out of the land of Egypt.
૪વીસ વર્ષ તથા તેથી વધારે ઉંમરના લોકોની ગણતરી કરો, જેમ યહોવાહે મૂસાને તથા ઇઝરાયલ લોકોને મિસરમાંથી બહાર આવ્યા હતા ત્યારે તેઓને આજ્ઞા આપી હતી તેમ.”
5 Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, —the sons of Reuben, To Hanoch, pertained the family of the Hanochites; To Pallu, the family of the Palluites;
૫ઇઝરાયલનો જયેષ્ઠ દીકરો રુબેન હતો. તેના દીકરા હનોખથી હનોખીઓનું કુટુંબ. પાલ્લૂથી પાલ્લૂનું કુટુંબ.
6 To Hezron, the family of the Hezronites, —To Carmi, the family of the Carmites.
૬હેસ્રોનથી હેસ્રોનીઓનું કુટુંબ. કાર્મીથી કાર્મીઓનું કુટુંબ.
7 These, are the families of the Reubenites, —and they who were numbered of them were found to be—forty-three thousand, and seven hundred, and thirty.
૭રુબેનના વંશજોનાં આટલાં કુળો હતાં, તેઓની સંખ્યા તેંતાલીસહજાર સાતસોત્રીસની હતી.
8 Now, the sons of Pallu, were Eliab;
૮પાલ્લૂનો દીકરો અલિયાબ હતો.
9 and the sons of Eliab, Nemuel, and Dathan and Abiram, —The same, Dathan and Abiram, notable men of the assembly, who contended against Moses and against Aaron in the assembly of Korah, when they contended against Yahweh;
૯અલિયાબના દીકરા: નમુએલ, દાથાન તથા અબિરામ હતા. દાથાન તથા અબિરામ જેઓ કોરાહને અનુસરતા હતા જ્યારે તેઓએ મૂસા તથા હારુનની સામે બંડ પોકારીને યહોવાહ સામે બળવો કર્યો તે એ જ હતા.
10 and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up—with Korah also, when the assembly died, —when the fire consumed two hundred and fifty men, and they became a warning;
૧૦જયારે તેઓ મૃત્યુ પામ્યા ત્યારે પૃથ્વી પોતાનું મુખ ખોલીને તેઓને કોરાહ સહિત ગળી ગઈ. તે જ સમયે અગ્નિએ બસો પચાસ માણસોનો નાશ કરી નાખ્યો જેઓ ચિહ્નરૂપ થઈ પડ્યા.
11 But, the sons of Korah, died not.
૧૧તેમ છતાં કોરાહના વંશજો મૃત્યુ પામ્યા નહિ.
12 The sons of Simeon, by their families, To Nemuel, pertained the family of the Nemuelites, To Jamin, the family of the Jaminites, —To Jachin, the family of the Jachinites:
૧૨શિમયોનના વંશજોનાં કુટુંબો નીચે પ્રમાણે છે: નમુએલથી નમુએલીઓનું કુટુંબ. યામીનથી યામીનીઓનું કુટુંબ. યાખીનથી યાખીનીઓનું કુટુંબ,
13 To Zerah, the family of the Zerahites, —To Shaul, the family of the Shaulites:
૧૩ઝેરાહથી ઝેરાહીઓનું કુટુંબ. શાઉલથી શાઉલીઓનું કુટુંબ.
14 These, are the families of the Simeonites, —two and twenty thousand and two hundred.
૧૪આ શિમયોનના વંશજોનાં કુટુંબો હતાં, જેઓ સંખ્યામાં બાવીસહજાર બસો માણસો હતા.
15 The sons of Gad, by their families, To Zephon, pertained the family of the Zephonites; To Haggi, the family of the Haggites, —To Shuni, the family of the Shunites;
૧૫ગાદના વંશજોનાં કુટુંબો આ હતાં એટલે. સફોનથી સફોનીઓનું કુટુંબ. હાગ્ગીથી હાગ્ગીઓનું કુટુંબ. શૂનીથી શૂનીઓનું કુટુંબ.
16 To Ozni, the family of the Oznites, —To Eri, the family of the Erites;
૧૬ઓઝનીથી ઓઝનીઓનું કુટુંબ. એરીથી એરીઓનું કુટુંબ.
17 To Arod, the family of the Arodites, —To Arelites, the family of the Arelites:
૧૭અરોદથી અરોદીઓનું કુટુંબ. આરએલીથી આરએલીઓનું કુટુંબ.
18 These, are the families of the sons of Gad, as to them who were numbered of them, —forty thousand and five hundred.
૧૮આ ગાદના વંશજોના કુટુંબો હતા જેઓની સંખ્યા ચાલીસહજાર પાંચસો માણસોની હતી.
19 The sons of Judah, Er and Onan, —but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.
૧૯એર તથા ઓનાન યહૂદાના દીકરા હતા, પણ આ માણસો કનાન દેશમાં મૃત્યુ પામ્યા હતા.
20 And so, as to the sons of Judah, by their families, it was found that—To Shelah, pertained the family of the Shelanites, To Perez, the family of the Perezites, —To Zerah, the family of the Zerahites;
૨૦યહૂદાના બીજા વંશજોનાં કુટુંબો આ હતાં એટલે: શેલાથી શેલાનીઓનું કુટુંબ. પેરેસથી પેરેસીઓનું કુટુંબ. ઝેરાહથી ઝેરાહીઓનું કુટુંબ.
21 And, as to the sons of Perez, it was found that—To Hezron, pertained the family of the Hezronites, —To Hamul, the family of the Hamulites:
૨૧પેરેસના વંશજો આ હતા એટલે: હેસ્રોનથી હેસ્રોનીઓનું કુટુંબ. હામૂલથી હામૂલીઓનું કુટુંબ.
22 These, are the families of Judah, as to them who were numbered of them, —seventy-six thousand, and five hundred,
૨૨આ યહૂદાના વંશજોનાં કુટુંબો હતા, જેઓની સંખ્યા છોતેરહજાર પાંચસો માણસોની હતી.
23 The sons of Issachar, by their families, Unto Tola, pertained the family of the Tolaites, —To Puvah, the family of the Puvites;
૨૩ઇસ્સાખારના વંશજોના કુટુંબો આ હતાં એટલે: તોલાથી તોલાઈઓનું કુટુંબ. પુવાહથી પૂનીઓનું કુટુંબ.
24 To Jashub, the family of the Jashubites, —To Shimron, the family of the Shimronites:
૨૪યાશૂબથી યાશૂબીઓનું કુટુંબ. શિમ્રોનથી શિમ્રોનીઓનું કુટુંબ.
25 These, are the families of Issachar. as to them who were numbered of them, —sixty-four thousand, and three hundred.
૨૫આ ઇસ્સાખારના વંશજોના કુટુંબો હતા, જેઓની સંખ્યા ચોસઠહજાર ત્રણસો માણસોની હતી.
26 The sons of Zebulun, by their families, To Sered, pertained the family of the Seredites, To Elon, the family of the Elonites, —To Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites:
૨૬ઝબુલોનના વંશજોનાં કુટુંબો આ હતાં એટલે: સેરેદથી સેરેદીઓનું કુટુંબ. એલોનથી એલોનીઓનું કુટુંબ. યાહલેલથી યાહલેલીઓનું કુટુંબ.
27 These are the families of the Zebulunites as to them who were numbered of them, —sixty thousand, and five hundred.
૨૭આ ઝબુલોનીઓના વંશજોનાં કુટુંબો હતાં. જેઓની સંખ્યા સાઠહજાર પાંચસો માણસોની હતી.
28 The sons of Joseph by their families, —Manasseh, and Ephraim.
૨૮યૂસફના વંશજો મનાશ્શા અને એફ્રાઇમ હતા.
29 The sons of Manasseh, To Machir, pertained the family of the Machirites, and, Machir, begat Gilead, —To Gilead, pertained the family of the Gileadites.
૨૯મનાશ્શાના વંશજો આ હતા: માખીરથી માખીરીઓનું કુટુંબ માખીર ગિલ્યાદનો પિતા હતો, ગિલ્યાદથી ગિલ્યાદીઓનું કુટુંબ.
30 These are the sons of Gilead: Iezer, the family of the Iezerites, —To Helek, the family of the Helekites;
૩૦ગિલ્યાદનાં કુટુંબો આ હતાં: ઈએઝેરથી ઈએઝેરીઓનું કુટુંબ. હેલેકથી હેલેકીઓનું કુટુંબ, અને
31 And Asriel, the family of the Asrielites; And, Shechem, the family of the Shechemites;
૩૧આસ્રીએલથી આસ્રીએલીઓનું કુટુંબ. અને શખેમથી શખેમીઓનું કુટુંબ.
32 And Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites; And, Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.
૩૨શમીદાથી શમીદાઈઓનું કુટુંબ. હેફેરથી હેફેરીઓનું કુટુંબ.
33 Now Zelophehad, son of Hepher, had no sons, but only, daughters, —and, the names of the daughters of Zelophehad, were Mahlah and Noah, Hoglah Milcah, and Tirzah.
૩૩હેફેરના દીકરા સલોફહાદને દીકરા નહોતા, પણ ફક્ત દીકરીઓ જ હતી. તેની દીકરીઓનાં નામ માહલાહ, નૂહ, હોગ્લાહ, મિલ્કાહ તથા તિર્સા હતાં.
34 These, are the families of Manasseh, —and, they who were numbered of them, —fifty-two thousand, and seven hundred.
૩૪આ મનાશ્શાનાં કુટુંબો હતાં, જેઓની સંખ્યા બાવનહજાર સાતસો માણસોની હતી.
35 These are the sons of Ephraim by their families, To Shuthelah, pertained the family of the Shuthelahites, To Becher, the family of the Becherites, —To Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.
૩૫એફ્રાઇમના વંશજોનાં કુટુંબો આ હતાં. શૂથેલાહથી શૂથેલાહીઓનું કુટુંબ. બેખેરથી બેખેરીઓનું કુટુંબ. તાહાનથી તાહાનીઓનું કુટુંબ.
36 And, these, are the sons of Shuthelah, To Eran, pertained the family of the Eranites.
૩૬શૂથેલાહના વંશજો, એરાનથી એરાનીઓનું કુટુંબ.
37 These, are the families of the sons of Ephraim, as to them who were numbered of them, —thirty-two thousand, and five hundred, These, are the sons of Joseph by their families.
૩૭આ એફ્રાઇમના વંશજોનાં કુટુંબો હતાં. જેઓની સંખ્યા બત્રીસહજાર પાંચસો માણસોની હતી. યૂસફના વંશજો તેઓના કુટુંબોની ગણતરી પ્રમાણે આ છે.
38 The sons of Benjamin by their families, To Bela, pertained the family of the Belaites, To Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites, —To Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites;
૩૮બિન્યામીનના વંશજોનાં કુટુંબો આ હતાં: બેલાથી બેલાઈઓનું કુટુંબ. આશ્બેલથી આશ્બેલીઓનું કુટુંબ. અહીરામથી અહીરામીઓનું કુટુંબ.
39 To Shephupham, the family of the Shuphamites, —To Hupham, the family of the Huphamites.
૩૯શૂફામથી શૂફામીઓનું કુટુંબ. હૂફામથી હૂફામીઓનું કુટુંબ.
40 And the sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman, —[To Ard, pertained] the family of the Ardites, To Naaman, the family of the Naamites.
૪૦બેલાના દીકરાઓ આર્દ તથા નામાન હતા. આર્દથી આર્દીઓનું કુટુંબ, નામાનથી નામાનીઓનું કુટુંબ.
41 These, are the sons of Benjamin by their families, —and they who were numbered of them, —were forty-five thousand and six hundred.
૪૧આ બિન્યામીનના વંશજોનાં કુટુંબો હતાં. જેઓની સંખ્યા પિસ્તાળીસહજાર છસો માણસોની હતી.
42 These, are the sons of Dan, by their families: To Shuham, pertained the family of the Shuhamites, —These, are the families of Dan by their families:
૪૨દાનના કુટુંબોના વંશજો, શૂહામથી શૂહામીઓનું કુટુંબ. આ દાનના વંશજોનું કુટુંબ હતું.
43 All the families of the Shuhamites, as to them who were numbered of them, were, sixty-four thousand, and four hundred.
૪૩શૂહામીઓના બધાં કુટુંબોની સંખ્યા ચોસઠહજાર ચારસો માણસોની હતી.
44 The sons of Asher, by their families: To Imnah, pertained the family of the Imnites, To Ishvi, the family of the Ishvites, —To Beriah, the family of the Beriites;
૪૪આશેરના વંશજોનાં કુટુંબો આ હતાં. યિમ્નાથી યિમ્નીઓનું કુટુંબ. યિશ્વીથી યિશ્વીઓનું કુટુંબ, બરિયાથી બરિયાઓનું કુટુંબ.
45 To the sons of Beriah, To Heber, pertained the family of the Heberites, To Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites;
૪૫બરિયાના વંશજોનાં કુટુંબો આ હતાં. હેબેરથી હેબેરીઓનું કુટુંબ. માલ્કીએલથી માલ્કીએલીઓનું કુટુંબ.
46 And, the name of the daughter of Asher, was Serah.
૪૬આશેરની દીકરીનું નામ સેરાહ હતું.
47 These, are the families of the sons of Asher as to them who were numbered of them, —fifty-three thousand and four hundred.
૪૭આ આશેરના વંશજોનાં કુટુંબો હતાં, જેઓની સંખ્યા તેપનહજાર ચારસો માણસોની હતી.
48 The sons of Naphtali, by their families, To Jahzeel, pertained the family of the Jahzeelites; To Guni, the family of the Gunites:
૪૮નફતાલીના વંશજોનાં કુટુંબો આ હતાં: યાહસએલથી યાહસએલીઓનું કુટુંબ, ગૂનીથી ગૂનીઓનું કુટુંબ,
49 To Jezer, the family of the Jezerites; To Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.
૪૯યેસેરથી યેસેરીઓનું કુટુંબ, શિલ્લેમથી શિલ્લેમીઓનું કુટુંબ.
50 These are the families of Naphtali, by their families, —and they who were numbered of them, were forty-five thousand and four hundred.
૫૦નફતાલીના વંશજોનાં કુટુંબો આ હતાં. જેઓની સંખ્યા પિસ્તાળીસહજાર ચારસો માણસોની હતી.
51 These, are they who were numbered of the sons of Israel, six hundred and one thousand, —seven hundred and thirty,
૫૧ઇઝરાયલ લોકો મધ્યેના માણસોની કુલ ગણતરી છ લાખ એક હજાર સાતસો ત્રીસની હતી.
52 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:
૫૨પછી યહોવાહે મૂસાને કહ્યું,
53 Unto these, shall be apportioned the land as an inheritance by the number of names.
૫૩“તેઓનાં નામોની સંખ્યા પ્રમાણે માણસોને આ દેશનો વારસો વહેંચી આપવો.
54 For the large one, thou shalt make large his inheritance, and for the small one, thou shalt make small his inheritance, —unto each one, in proportion to them who were numbered of him, shall be given his inheritance.
૫૪મોટા કુટુંબને વધારે વારસો આપવો, નાના કુટુંબને થોડો વારસો આપવો. દરેક કુટુંબના માણસોની ગણતરી પ્રમાણે તેમને વારસો આપવો.
55 Nevertheless by lot, shall the land be apportioned, —by the names of the tribes of their fathers, shall they inherit.
૫૫ચિઠ્ઠી નાખીને દેશની વહેંચણી કરવી. દરેકને તેમના પિતૃઓનાં કુળો પ્રમાણે વારસો મળે.
56 At the bidding of the lot, shall be apportioned his inheritance, —between large and small.
૫૬વધારે તથા થોડા કુટુંબોની વચ્ચે ચિઠ્ઠીઓ નાખીને વારસાની વહેંચણી કરવી.”
57 And these, are they who were numbered of the Levites by their families, To Gershon, pertained the family of the Gershonites, To Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; To Merari, the family of the Merarites.
૫૭લેવીઓનાં કુટુંબો: તેઓનાં કુટુંબો પ્રમાણે ગણતરી થઈ તે આ હતી: ગેર્શોનથી ગેર્શોનીઓનું કુટુંબ. કહાથથી કહાથીઓનું કુટુંબ. મરારીથી મરારીઓનું કુટુંબ,
58 These, are the families of Levi—The family of the Libnites, The family of the Hebronites, The family of the Mahlites, The family of the Mushites, The family of the Korahites, —And, Kohath, begat Amram;
૫૮લેવીઓનાં કુટુંબો નીચે મુજબ છે: લિબ્નીઓનું કુટુંબ. હેબ્રોનીઓનું કુટુંબ. માહલીઓનું કુટુંબ. મુશીઓનું કુટુંબ. તથા કોરાહીઓનું કુટુંબ. કહાથ આમ્રામનો પૂર્વજ હતો.
59 and the name of the wife of Amram, was Jochebed daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt, —and she bare to Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister:
૫૯આમ્રામની પત્નીનું નામ યોખેબેદ હતું, તે લેવીની દીકરી હતી, જે મિસરમાં લેવીને ઘરે જન્મી હતી. તેનાથી હારુન, મૂસા તથા તેમની બહેન મરિયમ જન્મ્યા હતા.
60 And, there were born to Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, —Eleazar and Ithamar;
૬૦હારુનની પત્નીએ નાદાબ તથા અબીહૂ, એલાઝાર તથા ઈથામારને જન્મ આપ્યો. આમ્રામ તેનો પતિ હતો.
61 But Nadab and Abihu died, —when they brought near strange fire before Yahweh:
૬૧નાદાબ તથા અબીહૂ યહોવાહ સમક્ષ અમાન્ય અગ્નિ ચઢાવતા મૃત્યુ પામ્યા.
62 And they who were numbered of them were found to be—twenty-three thousand, all the males from one month old and upwards—for they had not numbered themselves in the midst of the sons of Israel, because there was given unto them no inheritance, in the midst of the sons of Israel.
૬૨તેઓ મધ્યેના જેઓની ગણતરી થઈ તેઓ એટલે એક મહિનો તથા તેનાથી વધારે ઉંમરના પુરુષોની સંખ્યા તેવીસ હજારની હતી. પણ તેઓની ગણતરી ઇઝરાયલ લોકો વચ્ચે થઈ ન હતી, કેમ કે તેઓને ઇઝરાયલ લોકો મધ્યે વારસો મળ્યો ન હતો.
63 These, are they who were numbered by Moses, and Eleazar, the priest, —when they numbered the sons of Israel, in the waste plains of Moab, by Jordan, near Jericho.
૬૩મૂસા તથા એલાઝાર યાજકથી જેઓની ગણતરી થઈ તેઓ આ હતા. તેઓએ યર્દનને કિનારે યરીખો સામે મોઆબના મેદાનમાં ઇઝરાયલ લોકોની ગણતરી કરી.
64 And among these, was there not found a man of them who had been numbered by Moses, and Aaron the priest, —when they numbered the sons of Israel in the desert of Sinai.
૬૪મૂસાએ તથા હારુન યાજકે સિનાઈ અરણ્યમાં ઇઝરાયલના વંશજોની ગણતરી કરી ત્યારે જેઓની ગણતરી થઈ હતી તેઓમાંનો એક પણ માણસ ત્યાં ન હતો.
65 For Yahweh had said of them, They shall surely die, in the desert. And there was not left of them a man, save only, Caleb son of Jephunneh, and Joshua son of Nun.
૬૫કેમ કે, યહોવાહે કહ્યું હતું કે આ બધા લોકો અરણ્યમાં મૃત્યુ પામશે. ફક્ત યફૂન્નેનો દીકરો કાલેબ તથા નૂનનો દીકરો યહોશુઆ સિવાય તેઓમાંનો એક પણ માણસ બચશે નહિ.
