Numbers 26
1 And it came to pass, after the plague, that Yahweh spake unto Moses, and unto Eleazar son of Aaron the priest, saying:
Or il arriva après cette plaie-là, que l'Eternel parla à Moïse, et à Eléazar, fils d'Aaron, le Sacrificateur, en disant:
2 Reckon ye up the sum of all the assembly of the sons of Israel from twenty years old and upwards, by their ancestral houses, —every one able to go forth to war in Israel.
Faites le dénombrement de toute l'assemblée des enfants d'Israël, depuis l'âge de vingt ans, et au dessus, selon les maisons de leurs pères, [savoir] de tous ceux d'Israël qui peuvent aller à la guerre.
3 So then Moses and Eleazar the priest spake with them, in the waste plains of Moab, —by the Jordan near Jericho saying:
Moïse donc et Eléazar le Sacrificateur leur parlèrent dans les campagnes de Moab, auprès du Jourdain de Jéricho, en disant:
4 From twenty years old and upwards, As Yahweh commanded Moses, and the sons of Israel, who had come forth out of the land of Egypt.
[Qu'on fasse le dénombrement] depuis l'âge de vingt ans, et au dessus, comme l'Eternel l'avait commandé à Moïse et aux enfants d'Israël, quand ils furent sortis du pays d'Egypte.
5 Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, —the sons of Reuben, To Hanoch, pertained the family of the Hanochites; To Pallu, the family of the Palluites;
Ruben fut le premier-né d'Israël; et les enfants de Ruben furent Hénoc; [de lui sortit] la famille des Hénokites; de Pallu, la famille des Palluites.
6 To Hezron, the family of the Hezronites, —To Carmi, the family of the Carmites.
De Hetsron, la famille des Hetsronites; de Carmi, la famille des Carmites.
7 These, are the families of the Reubenites, —and they who were numbered of them were found to be—forty-three thousand, and seven hundred, and thirty.
Ce sont là les familles des Rubénites, et ceux qui furent dénombrés étaient quarante-trois mille sept cent trente.
8 Now, the sons of Pallu, were Eliab;
Et les enfants de Pallu, Eliab.
9 and the sons of Eliab, Nemuel, and Dathan and Abiram, —The same, Dathan and Abiram, notable men of the assembly, who contended against Moses and against Aaron in the assembly of Korah, when they contended against Yahweh;
Et les enfants d'Eliab, Némuel, Dathan et Abiram. Ce Dathan et cet Abiram, qui étaient de ceux qu'on appelait pour tenir l'assemblée, se mutinèrent contre Moïse et contre Aaron en l'assemblée de Coré, lorsqu'on se mutina contre l'Eternel;
10 and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up—with Korah also, when the assembly died, —when the fire consumed two hundred and fifty men, and they became a warning;
Et lorsque la terre ouvrit sa bouche et les engloutit. Mais Coré fut enveloppé en la mort de ceux qui étaient assemblés avec lui, quand le feu consuma les deux cent cinquante hommes; et ils furent pour signe.
11 But, the sons of Korah, died not.
Mais les enfants de Coré ne moururent point.
12 The sons of Simeon, by their families, To Nemuel, pertained the family of the Nemuelites, To Jamin, the family of the Jaminites, —To Jachin, the family of the Jachinites:
Les enfants de Siméon selon leurs familles. De Némuel, la famille des Némuélites; de Jamin, la famille des Jaminites; de Jakin, la famille des Jakinites;
13 To Zerah, the family of the Zerahites, —To Shaul, the family of the Shaulites:
De Zérah, la famille des Zarhites; de Saül, la famille des Saülites.
14 These, are the families of the Simeonites, —two and twenty thousand and two hundred.
Ce sont là les familles des Siméonites; qui furent vingt-deux mille deux cents.
15 The sons of Gad, by their families, To Zephon, pertained the family of the Zephonites; To Haggi, the family of the Haggites, —To Shuni, the family of the Shunites;
Les enfants de Gad selon leurs familles. De Tséphon, la famille des Tséphonites; de Haggi, la famille des Haggites; de Suni, la famille des Sunites;
16 To Ozni, the family of the Oznites, —To Eri, the family of the Erites;
D'Ozni, la famille des Oznites; deHéri, la famille des Hérites;
17 To Arod, the family of the Arodites, —To Arelites, the family of the Arelites:
D'Arod, la famille des Arodites; d'Aréel, la famille des Aréélites.
18 These, are the families of the sons of Gad, as to them who were numbered of them, —forty thousand and five hundred.
Ce sont là les familles des enfants de Gad, selon leur dénombrement, qui fut de quarante mille cinq cents.
19 The sons of Judah, Er and Onan, —but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.
Les enfants de Juda, Her, et Onan; mais Her et Onan moururent au pays de Canaan.
20 And so, as to the sons of Judah, by their families, it was found that—To Shelah, pertained the family of the Shelanites, To Perez, the family of the Perezites, —To Zerah, the family of the Zerahites;
Ainsi les enfants de Juda [distingués] par leurs familles, furent, de Séla, la famille des Sélanites; de Pharès, la famille des Pharésites; de Zara, la famille des Zarhites.
21 And, as to the sons of Perez, it was found that—To Hezron, pertained the family of the Hezronites, —To Hamul, the family of the Hamulites:
Et les enfants de Pharès furent, de Hetsron, la famille des Hetsronites; et de Hamul, la famille des Hamulites.
22 These, are the families of Judah, as to them who were numbered of them, —seventy-six thousand, and five hundred,
Ce sont là les familles de Juda, selon leur dénombrement, qui fut de soixante et seize mille cinq cents.
23 The sons of Issachar, by their families, Unto Tola, pertained the family of the Tolaites, —To Puvah, the family of the Puvites;
Les enfants d'Issacar selon leurs familles. De Tolah, la famille des Tolahites; de Puva, la famille des Puvites.
24 To Jashub, the family of the Jashubites, —To Shimron, the family of the Shimronites:
De Jasub, la famille des Jasubites; de Simron, la famille des Simronites.
25 These, are the families of Issachar. as to them who were numbered of them, —sixty-four thousand, and three hundred.
Ce sont là les familles d'Issacar, selon leur dénombrement, qui fut de soixante-quatre mille trois cents.
26 The sons of Zebulun, by their families, To Sered, pertained the family of the Seredites, To Elon, the family of the Elonites, —To Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites:
Les enfants de Zabulon, selon leurs familles. De Séred, la famille des Sérédites; d'Elon, la famille des Elonites; de Jahléel, la famille des Jahléélites.
27 These are the families of the Zebulunites as to them who were numbered of them, —sixty thousand, and five hundred.
Ce sont là les familles des Zabulonites, selon leur dénombrement, qui fut de soixante mille cinq cents.
28 The sons of Joseph by their families, —Manasseh, and Ephraim.
Les enfants de Joseph, selon leurs familles, furent Manassé et Ephraïm.
29 The sons of Manasseh, To Machir, pertained the family of the Machirites, and, Machir, begat Gilead, —To Gilead, pertained the family of the Gileadites.
Les enfants de Manassé. De Makir, la famille des Makirites; et Makir engendra Galaad; de Galaad, la famille des Galaadites.
30 These are the sons of Gilead: Iezer, the family of the Iezerites, —To Helek, the family of the Helekites;
Ce sont ici les enfants de Galaad; de Ihézer, la famille des Ihézérites; de Hélek, la famille des Hélékites.
31 And Asriel, the family of the Asrielites; And, Shechem, the family of the Shechemites;
D'Asriel, la famille des Asriélites; de Sékem, la famille des Sékémites.
32 And Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites; And, Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.
De Semidah, la famille des Semidahites; de Hépher, la famille des Héphrites.
33 Now Zelophehad, son of Hepher, had no sons, but only, daughters, —and, the names of the daughters of Zelophehad, were Mahlah and Noah, Hoglah Milcah, and Tirzah.
r Tsélophcad, fils de Hépher, n'eut point de fils, mais des filles: et les noms des filles de Tsélophcad sont Mahla, Noha, Hogla, Milca, et Tirtsa.
34 These, are the families of Manasseh, —and, they who were numbered of them, —fifty-two thousand, and seven hundred.
Ce sont là les familles de Manassé, et leur dénombrement fut de cinquante-deux mille sept cents.
35 These are the sons of Ephraim by their families, To Shuthelah, pertained the family of the Shuthelahites, To Becher, the family of the Becherites, —To Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.
Ce sont ici les enfants d'Ephraïm, selon leurs familles. De Suthélah, la famille des Suthélahites; de Béker, la famille des Bakrites; de Tahan, la famille des Tahanites.
36 And, these, are the sons of Shuthelah, To Eran, pertained the family of the Eranites.
Et ce sont ici les enfants de Suthélah; de Héran, la famille des Héranites.
37 These, are the families of the sons of Ephraim, as to them who were numbered of them, —thirty-two thousand, and five hundred, These, are the sons of Joseph by their families.
Ce sont là les familles des enfants d'Ephraïm, selon leur dénombrement, qui furent trente-deux mille cinq cents. Ce sont là les enfants de Joseph, selon leurs familles.
38 The sons of Benjamin by their families, To Bela, pertained the family of the Belaites, To Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites, —To Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites;
Les enfants de Benjamin, selon leurs familles. De Bélah, la famille des Balhites; d'Asbel, la famille des Asbélites; d'Ahiram, la famille des Ahiramites.
39 To Shephupham, the family of the Shuphamites, —To Hupham, the family of the Huphamites.
De Séphupham, la famille des Séphuphamites; de Hupham, la famille des Huphamites.
40 And the sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman, —[To Ard, pertained] the family of the Ardites, To Naaman, the family of the Naamites.
Et les enfants de Bélah furent Ard et Nahaman; d'Ard, la famille des Ardites; et de Nahaman, la famille des Nahamanites.
41 These, are the sons of Benjamin by their families, —and they who were numbered of them, —were forty-five thousand and six hundred.
Ce sont là les enfants de Benjamin, selon leurs familles; et leur dénombrement fut de quarante-cinq mille six cents.
42 These, are the sons of Dan, by their families: To Shuham, pertained the family of the Shuhamites, —These, are the families of Dan by their families:
Ce sont ici les enfants de Dan, selon leurs familles. De Suham, la famille des Suhamites; ce sont là les familles de Dan, selon leurs familles.
43 All the families of the Shuhamites, as to them who were numbered of them, were, sixty-four thousand, and four hundred.
Toutes les familles des Suhamites, selon leur dénombrement, furent soixante-quatre mille, et quatre cents.
44 The sons of Asher, by their families: To Imnah, pertained the family of the Imnites, To Ishvi, the family of the Ishvites, —To Beriah, the family of the Beriites;
Les enfants d'Aser, selon leurs familles. De Jimna, la famille des Jimnaïtes; de Jisui, la famille des Jisuites; de Bériah, la famille des Bériahites.
45 To the sons of Beriah, To Heber, pertained the family of the Heberites, To Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites;
Des enfants de Bériah, de Héber, la famille des Hébrites; de Malkiel, la famille des Malkiélites.
46 And, the name of the daughter of Asher, was Serah.
Et le nom de la fille d'Aser, fut Sérah.
47 These, are the families of the sons of Asher as to them who were numbered of them, —fifty-three thousand and four hundred.
Ce sont là les familles des enfants d'Aser, selon leur dénombrement, qui furent cinquante-trois mille quatre cents.
48 The sons of Naphtali, by their families, To Jahzeel, pertained the family of the Jahzeelites; To Guni, the family of the Gunites:
Les enfants de Nephthali, selon leurs familles. De Jahtséel, la famille des Jahtséélites; de Guni, la famille des Gunites.
49 To Jezer, the family of the Jezerites; To Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.
De Jetser la famille des Jitsrites; de Sillem, la famille des Sillémites.
50 These are the families of Naphtali, by their families, —and they who were numbered of them, were forty-five thousand and four hundred.
Ce sont là les familles de Nephthali, selon leurs familles, et leur dénombrement fut de quarante-cinq mille quatre cents.
51 These, are they who were numbered of the sons of Israel, six hundred and one thousand, —seven hundred and thirty,
Ce sont là les dénombrés des enfants d'Israël, qui furent six cent et un mille sept cent trente.
52 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:
Et l'Eternel parla à Moïse, en disant:
53 Unto these, shall be apportioned the land as an inheritance by the number of names.
Le pays sera partagé à ceux-ci par héritage, selon le nombre des noms.
54 For the large one, thou shalt make large his inheritance, and for the small one, thou shalt make small his inheritance, —unto each one, in proportion to them who were numbered of him, shall be given his inheritance.
A ceux qui sont en plus grand nombre tu donneras plus d'héritage, et à ceux qui sont en plus petit nombre tu donneras moins d'héritage; on donnera à chacun son héritage selon le nombre de ses dénombrés.
55 Nevertheless by lot, shall the land be apportioned, —by the names of the tribes of their fathers, shall they inherit.
Toutefois que le pays soit divisé par sort, [et] qu'ils prennent leur héritage selon les noms des Tribus de leurs pères.
56 At the bidding of the lot, shall be apportioned his inheritance, —between large and small.
L'héritage de chacun sera selon que le sort le montrera, et on aura égard au plus grand et au plus petit nombre.
57 And these, are they who were numbered of the Levites by their families, To Gershon, pertained the family of the Gershonites, To Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; To Merari, the family of the Merarites.
Et ce sont ici les dénombrés de Lévi selon leurs familles; de Guerson, la famille des Guersonites; de Kéhath, la famille des Kéhathites; de Mérari, la famille des Mérarites.
58 These, are the families of Levi—The family of the Libnites, The family of the Hebronites, The family of the Mahlites, The family of the Mushites, The family of the Korahites, —And, Kohath, begat Amram;
Ce sont donc ici les familles de Lévi; la famille des Libnites, la famille des Hébronites, la famille des Mahlites, la famille des Musites, la famille des Corhites. Or Kéhath engendra Hamram.
59 and the name of the wife of Amram, was Jochebed daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt, —and she bare to Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister:
Et le nom de la femme de Hamram, fut Jokébed, fille de Lévi, qui naquit à Lévi en Egypte, et elle enfanta à Hamram, Aaron, Moïse, et Marie leur sœur.
60 And, there were born to Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, —Eleazar and Ithamar;
Et à Aaron naquirent Nadab, Abihu, Eléazar et Ithamar.
61 But Nadab and Abihu died, —when they brought near strange fire before Yahweh:
Et Nadab et Abihu moururent en offrant du feu étranger devant l'Eternel.
62 And they who were numbered of them were found to be—twenty-three thousand, all the males from one month old and upwards—for they had not numbered themselves in the midst of the sons of Israel, because there was given unto them no inheritance, in the midst of the sons of Israel.
Et tous les dénombrés des Lévites furent vingt-trois mille, tous mâles, depuis l'âge d'un mois, et au dessus, qui ne furent point dénombrés avec les [autres] enfants d'Israël, car on ne leur donna point d'héritage entre les enfants d'Israël.
63 These, are they who were numbered by Moses, and Eleazar, the priest, —when they numbered the sons of Israel, in the waste plains of Moab, by Jordan, near Jericho.
Ce sont là ceux qui furent dénombrés par Moïse et Eléazar le Sacrificateur, qui firent le dénombrement des enfants d'Israël aux campagnes de Moab, près du Jourdain de Jéricho.
64 And among these, was there not found a man of them who had been numbered by Moses, and Aaron the priest, —when they numbered the sons of Israel in the desert of Sinai.
Entre lesquels il ne s'en trouva aucun de ceux qui avaient été dénombrés par Moïse et Aaron Sacrificateur, quand ils firent le dénombrement des enfants d'Israël au désert de Sinaï.
65 For Yahweh had said of them, They shall surely die, in the desert. And there was not left of them a man, save only, Caleb son of Jephunneh, and Joshua son of Nun.
Car l'Eternel avait dit d'eux, que certainement ils mourraient au désert; et ainsi il n'en resta pas un, excepté Caleb, fils de Jéphunné, et Josué, fils de Nun.
