Numbers 23
1 Then said Balaam unto Balak: Build me here seven altars, —and prepare me here, seven bullocks and seven rams.
Ary hoy Balama tamin’ i Balaka: Manorena alitara fito eto ho ahy, ka manamboara vantotr’ ombilahy fito sy ondrilahy fito.
2 And Balak did as Balaam had spoken, —and Balak and Balaam caused to ascend a bullock and a ram on each altar.
Dia narahin’ i Balaka izay efa nolazain’ i Balama; ary Balaka sy Balama nanatitra vantotr’ ombilahy sy ondrilahy iray avy teo ambonin’ ny isan’ alitara.
3 Then said Balaam unto Balak: Station thyself by thine ascending-sacrifice, and let me go my way—peradventure Yahweh may come and meet me, and what thing soever he may show me, I will tell thee. So he went his way to a bare height.
Dia hoy Balama tamin’ i Balaka: Mitoera eto anilan’ ny fanatitra doranao, fa izaho kosa handeha; angamba ho avy hihaona amiko Jehovah; ary izay hasehony amiko dia hambarako aminao. Ary lasa nankany amin’ ny tendrombohitra anankiray mangadihady izy.
4 And God came unto Balaam, —so he said unto him The seven altars, have I built in a row, and have caused to ascend, bullock and a ram on each altar.
Ary Andriamanitra dia nihaona tamin’ i Balama; ary hoy Balama taminy: Ny alitara fito dia efa namboariko, ary efa nanatitra vantotr’ ombilahy sy ondrilahy iray avy teo ambonin’ ny isan’ alitara aho.
5 And Yahweh put a word into the mouth of Balaam, —and said—Return unto Balak, and, thus, shalt thou speak.
Ary Jehovah nanisy teny teo am-bavan’ i Balama ka nanao hoe: Miverena any amin’ i Balaka, ary izany no holazainao.
6 So he returned unto him, and lo! he was stationed by his ascending-sacrifice, —he, and all the princes of Moab.
Dia niverina tany amin’ i Balaka izy, ary, indreo, teo anilan’ ny fanatitra dorany izy sy ireo andriandahin’ i Moaba rehetra.
7 So he took up his parable and said, —From Aram, doth Balak conduct me, The king of Moab, from the mountains of the East, Come thou! curse me Jacob, Yea, come thou! rage on Israel.
Dia nanao oha-teny Balama ka nilaza hoe: Balaka nampaka ahy avy tany Arama, Ny mpanjakan’ i Moaba nampaka ahy avy tany amin’ ny tendrombohitra atsinanana: Avia, ka ozòny ho ahy Jakoba; ary mankanesa atỳ, ka sahatoy ny Isiraely.
8 How can I revile one whom GOD hath not reviled? Yea, how can I rage on one on whom Yahweh hath not raged?
Hataoko ahoana no fanozona izay tsy nozonin’ Andriamanitra? Ary hataoko ahoana no fisahato izay tsy nosahatoin’ i Jehovah?
9 Surely from the head of the rocks, do I see him, Yea, from the hills, do I observe him, —Lo! a people, who alone doth dwell, And among the nations, he doth not reckon himself.
Fa eto an-tampon’ ny vatolampy no ahitako azy, ary eto amin’ ny havoana no itazanako azy; indro, firenena mitoka-monina izy, ary tsy hatao ho isan’ ny jentilisa.
10 Who hath counted the dust of Jacob? Or who hath numbered the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the upright, And let my hereafter be like his!
Iza no mahisa ny vovok’ i Jakoba, na ny isan’ ny ampahefatry ny Isiraely? Aoka ho tahaka ny fahafatesan’ ny olo-marina ny fahafatesako, ary aoka ny hiafarako ho tahaka ny azy!
11 Then said Balak unto Balaam, What hast thou done for me? To revile mine enemies, I summoned thee, and lo! thou hast kept on blessing.
Dia hoy Balaka tamin’ i Balama: Ahoana izao nataonao tamiko izao? Hanozona ny fahavaloko no nangalako anao, kanjo nitso-drano dia nitso-drano azy kosa ianao.
12 And he answered and said, —Was it not to be so that whatsoever Yahweh should put into my mouth, the same, should I take heed to speak?
Dia namaly izy ka nanao hoe: Tsy hotandremako va ny hilaza izay ataon’ i Jehovah eto am-bavako?
13 Then said Balak unto him—Come, I pray thee, with me unto another place, from whence thou mayest see him, nothing but his utmost part, shalt thou see, but all of him, shalt thou not see, —and so revile me him from thence.
Dia hoy Balaka taminy: Andeha mba hiaraka amiko ho any amin’ ny tany hafa izay hahitanao azy; kanefa ny sisiny ihany no ho hitanao eo, fa tsy ho hitanao avokoa izy rehetra; ka ozòny ho ahy ao izy.
14 And he took him to the field of Zophim, unto the head of Pisgah, —and built seven altars, and caused to ascend a bullock and a ram on each altar.
Dia nitondra azy tao an-tsaha Zofima izy, tao an-tampon’ i Pisga; ary nanorina alitara fito izy ka nanatitra vantotr’ ombilahy sy ondrilahy iray avy teo ambonin’ ny isan’ alitara.
15 Then said he to Balak, Station thyself here by thine ascending-sacrifice, —while, I, meet him yonder.
Dia hoy izy tamin’ i Balaka: Mitoera eto anilan’ ny fanatitra doranao, fa izaho hankerỳ hihaona amin’ i Jehovah.
16 And Yahweh met Balaam, and put a word into his mouth, —and said—Return unto Balak and thus shalt thou speak.
Ary Jehovah nihaona tamin’ i Balama, dia nanisy teny teo am-bavany ka nanao hoe: Miverena mankeo amin’ i Balaka ary izany no holazainao.
17 So he came in unto him and, there he was-stationed by his ascending-sacrifice, and the princes of Moab with him. And Balak said unto him, What hath Yahweh spoken?
Ary nony tonga tany aminy izy, dia, indreo, teo anilan’ ny fanatitra dorany izy sy ireo andriandahin’ i Moaba izay teo aminy. Dia hoy Balaka taminy: Ahoana no nolazain’ i Jehovah?
18 Then took he up his parable and said, —Rise, Balak, and hear, Give ear unto me son of Zippor!
Dia nanao oha-teny Balama ka nilaza hoe: Mitsangàna, ry Balaka, ka mandrenesa; Atongilano amiko ny sofinao, ry zanak’ i Zipora;
19 GOD is, not a man, that he should lie, Nor a son of Adam, that he should repent, —Hath, he, said, and will not perform? Yea spoken, and will not make it stand fast?
Andriamanitra tsy mba olona ka handainga, na zanak’ olombelona ka hanenina; moa efa nilaza va Izy, ka tsy hefainy? na efa niteny va Izy, ka tsy hotoviny?
20 Lo! to bless, have I received [command], —And I will bless, nor will I take it back.
Indro, ny hitahy no efa azoko; ary efa nitahy Izy, ka tsy mahova izany aho.
21 He hath not discovered trouble in Jacob, Neither hath he seen wretchedness in Israel, —Yahweh, his God, is with him, And, the acclaim of a king, in his midst:
Tsy mijery faharatsiana eo amin’ i Jakoba Izy. Ary tsy mahita fahoriana eo amin’ ny Isiraely; Jehovah Andriamaniny no nomba azy, Ary hoby fanao amin’ andriana no re eo aminy.
22 GOD having brought them forth out of Egypt, The very horns of the buffalo, are his:
Nentin’ Andriamanitra nivoaka avy tany Egypta izy, ary manan-kery toy ny ombimanga,
23 Surely, there is no enchantment against Jacob, Nor divination against Israel, —Now, shall it be said—Of Jacob and of Israel, What hath GOD wrought!
Fa tsy misy fisikidianana eo amin’ i Jakoba, ary tsy misy fankatovana eo amin’ Isiraely. Fa amin’ ny fotoana no hilazana amin’ i Jakoba sy Isiraely izay efa nataon’ i Jehovah.
24 Lo, a people, like a lioness, shall rise, And like a strong lion, shall rouse himself up; He will not lie down till he eat the torn, And the blood of the slain, he drink.
Indro, firenena mitsangana toy ny liom-bavy sy miarina toy ny liona; tsy handry izy mandra-pihinany toha sy mandra-pisotrony ny ran’ ny voavono.
25 Then said Balak unto Balaam, Thou shalt neither revile, him, —nor bless him.
Dia hoy Balaka tamin’ i Balama: Aza manozona na mitso-drano azy akory
26 And Balaam responded, and said unto Balak, —Spake I not unto thee, saying, All that Yahweh shall speak, that, must I do?
Fa namaly kosa Balama ka nanao tamin’ i Balaka hoe; Tsy efa nilaza taminao va aho ka nanao hoe: Izay rehetra holazain’ i Jehovah, izany no hataoko?
27 And Balak said unto Balaam, Come, I pray thee! let me take thee unto another place, —peradventure, it may be right in the eyes of God, that thou revile me him. from thence.
Dia hoy Balaka tamin’ i Balama: Andeha ho entiko any amin’ izay tany hafa ianao; angamba ho sitrak’ Andriamanitra ny hanozonanao azy any ho ahy.
28 So Balak took Balaam, —unto the head of Peor, that looketh over the face of the Jeshimon.
Ary Balama dia nentin’ i Balaka ho ao an-tampon’ i Peora, izay manatrika ny efitra.
29 And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here, seven altars, —and prepare me here, seven bullocks and seven rams.

30 And Balak did as Balaam said, —and caused to ascend a bullock and a ram on each altar.
