Numbers 19
1 And Yahweh spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying:
Le Seigneur parla encore à Moïse et à Aaron, disant:
2 This, is the statute of the law, which Yahweh hath commanded, saying, —Speak unto the sons of Israel—That they bring unto thee a red heifer, without defect wherein is no blemish, and whereupon hath come no yoke.
Voici sur la loi de purification les détails que le Seigneur a réglés, disant: Parle aux fils d'Israël et qu'ils t'amènent une génisse rousse sans tache, sans difformité, qui n'ait point encore porté le joug.
3 Then shall ye give her unto Eleazar the priest, and he shall take her forth unto the outside of the camp, and she shall be slain before him;
Tu la donneras à Eléazar le prêtre; puis, on la conduira hors du camp, en lieu pur, et on l'égorgera devant lui.
4 and Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, —and shall sprinkle towards the front of the tent of meeting: of her blood, seven times;
Eléazar prendra de son sang, et il en fera sept aspersions sur la façade du tabernacle du témoignage.
5 and the heifer shall be burned up before his eyes, —her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung shall be burned up.
Puis, on la brûlera devant lui; le cuir et la chair, le sang et la fiente seront consumés.
6 Then shall the priest take cedar-wood and hyssop and crimson, —and cast into the midst of the burning up of the heifer.
Après quoi, le prêtre prendra du bois de cèdre, de l'hysope, de l'écarlate, et l'on jettera ces choses au milieu du bûcher qui consumera la génisse.
7 And the priest shall wash his clothes and bathe his flesh in water, and afterwards come into the camp, —but the priest shall be unclean until the evening,
Le prêtre lavera ensuite ses vêtements; il se lavera le corps avec de l'eau; il rentrera dans le camp, et il sera impur jusqu'au soir.
8 And, he that burneth her, shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, —and be unclean until the evening,
L'homme qui aura brûlé la génisse lavera aussi ses vêtements, et il se lavera le corps avec de l'eau, et il sera impur jusqu'au soir.
9 Then shall a man that is clean gather up the ashes of the heifer, and put them by, outside the camp, in a clean place, —so shall they be for the assembly of the sons of Israel to keep for water of separation it is a taking away of sin.
Un homme pur recueillera les cendres de la génisse, et il les déposera hors du camp en lieu pur; et la synagogue des fils d'Israël veillera à ce qu'elle soit conservée; l'eau de l'aspersion est chose purifiante.
10 Then shall he that gathered up the ashes wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening, —so shall it be for the sons of Israel and for the sojourner that sojourneth in your midst by a statute age-abiding.
L'homme donc qui aura recueilli les cendres de la génisse lavera ses vêtements, et il sera impur jusqu'au soir: c'est une loi perpétuelle pour vous et pour les prosélytes établis parmi vous.
11 He that toucheth the dead, even any human person, shall be unclean seven days.
Celui qui aura touché un homme mort sera impur sept jours.
12 He, shall cleanse himself from sin therewith on the third day, then on the seventh day, shall he be clean, —but if he cleanse not himself from sin on the third day, then on the seventh day, shall he not be clean,
Il sera purifié avec l'eau de l'aspersion, le troisième et le septième jour, et il sera pur; s'il n'est aspergé le troisième et le septième jour, il ne le sera point.
13 Whosoever toucheth the dead the person of the human being that dieth and doth not cleanse himself from sin, the habitation of Yahweh, hath he made unclean; that person therefore shall be cut off out of Israel, —because, the water of separation, was not dashed upon him, unclean, shall he be, his uncleanness is yet upon him.
Quiconque aura touché le cadavre d'un homme mort, et n'aura point été purifié, a souillé le tabernacle du Seigneur; il sera exterminé en Israël, parce qu'il n'aura pas été aspergé de l'eau de l'aspersion. Il est impur, et son impureté est encore en lui.
14 This, is the law—When, a human being, shall die in a tent, every one who goeth into the tent and every one who is in the tent shall be unclean seven days.
Autre loi: Si un homme est mort dans une maison, quiconque entrera dans la maison et tout ce que la maison renferme seront impurs sept jours.
15 And, in the case of every open vessel, on which no cover is fastened, unclean, it is.
Tout vase ouvert qui n'aura pas de couvercle attaché sera impur.
16 And, whosoever toucheth on the face of the field, one slain with a sword, or one who hath died, or a human bone or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.
Quiconque aura touché, sur le lieu d'un meurtre, soit un cadavre, soit des ossements humains, soit un sépulcre, sera impur sept jours.
17 And they shall take, for him that is unclean, of the ashes of the burning of the sin-bearer, —and living water shall be put thereon in a vessel,
On prendra pour l'impur des cendres de la génisse brûlée pour la purification, et on répandra sur elles de l'eau vive en un vase.
18 Then shall a man that is clean take hyssop, and dip in the water, and sprinkle upon the tent, and upon all the vessels, and upon the persons who were there, —and upon him that touched the bone or him who had been slain, or him who had died of himself or the grave;
Ensuite un homme pur prendra de l'hysope, il la trempera dans l'eau, et il en aspergera soit la maison, les meubles, les âmes qui s'y trouvent, soit l'homme qui aura touché les ossements humains, ou le champ du meurtre, ou le mort, ou la sépulture.
19 and the clean person shall sprinkle upon the unclean, on the third day, and on the seventh day, —so shall he cleanse himself from sin, on the seventh day, and shall wash his clothes, and bathe in water and be clean in the evening.
Et l'homme pur aspergera l'impur, le troisième et le septième jour, et celui-ci sera purifié le septième jour; alors, il lavera ses vêtements, il se lavera avec de l'eau, et il sera impur jusqu'au soir.
20 But in the case of the man who shall be unclean and shall not cleanse himself from sin, that person shall be cut off, out of the midst of the convocation, —for, the sanctuary of Yahweh, hath he made unclean, the water of separation, hath not been dashed upon him unclean, he is.
L'homme qui aura été souillé, et n'aura pas été purifié sera exterminé du milieu du peuple, parce qu'il aura souillé les choses saintes du Seigneur, et qu'il n'aura pas été aspergé de l'eau de l'aspersion; il est impur.
21 So shall it be unto them for statute age-abiding, —and, he that sprinkleth the water of separation, shall wash his clothes, and he that toucheth the water of separation shall be unclean until the evening;
Ce sera pour vous une loi perpétuelle, et celui qui aspergera avec l'eau de l'aspersion lavera ses vêtements, et celui qui aura touché l'eau de l'aspersion sera impur jusqu'au soir.
22 and, whatsoever the unclean person toucheth, shall be unclean, —and the person who toucheth it shall be unclean until the evening.
Tout ce qu'aura touché un homme impur sera également impur, et celui qui touchera une de ces choses sera impur jusqu'au soir.
