Numbers 16
1 Then took Korah, son of Izhar son of Kohath son of Levi, —and Dathan and Abiram sons of Eliab, and On, son of Peleth sons of Reuben;
Und Korah, der Sohn Jizhars, des Sohnes Kehaths, des Sohnes Levis, unternahm es, und mit ihm Dathan und Abiram, die Söhne Eliabs, und On, der Sohn Pelets, die Söhne Rubens,
2 and rose up before Moses, with certain men of the sons of Israel, two hundred and fifty, —princes of assembly, called to the stated meeting, men of renown;
und sie standen auf gegen Mose, mit 250 Männern von den Kindern Israel, Fürsten der Gemeinde, Berufene [S. die Anm. zu Kap. 1,16] der Versammlung, Männer von Namen.
3 and gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron and said unto them Too much for you, when, all the assembly, are, all of them, holy, and in the midst of them, is Yahweh, —Wherefore, then, should ye set yourselves up, above the convocation of Yahweh?
Und sie versammelten sich wider Mose und wider Aaron und sprachen zu ihnen: Laßt es genug sein! Denn die ganze Gemeinde, sie allesamt, sind heilig, und Jehova ist in ihrer Mitte! Und warum erhebet ihr euch über die Versammlung Jehovas?
4 And, when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face.
Als Mose es hörte, fiel er auf sein Angesicht.
5 Then spake he unto Korah, and unto all his assembly, saying, In the morning, will Yahweh make known who are his, and who is the holy one and will cause him to come near unto himself, —yea him whom he shall choose, will he cause to come near unto himself.
Und er redete zu Korah und zu seiner ganzen Rotte und sprach: Morgen, da wird Jehova kundtun, wer sein ist und wer heilig [Eig. der Heilige] ist, daß er ihn zu sich nahen lasse; und wen er erwählt, den wird er zu sich nahen lassen.
6 This do, —Take to you censers, Korah and all his assembly;
Dieses tut: Nehmet euch Räucherpfannen, Korah und seine ganze Rotte,
7 and place therein fire, and put thereon incense before Yahweh, to-morrow, So shall it be—that, the man whom Yahweh shall choose, he shall be the holy one. Too much for you ye sons of Levi!
und morgen tut Feuer darein und leget Räucherwerk darauf vor Jehova; und es soll geschehen, der Mann, den Jehova erwählen wird, der sei der Heilige. Laßt es genug sein, ihr Söhne Levis!
8 And Moses said unto Korah, —Hear, I pray you, ye sons of Levi!
Und Mose sprach zu Korah: Höret doch, ihr Söhne Levis!
9 Is it too small a thing for you that the God of Israel hath separated you from the assembly of Israel, to bring you near unto himself, —to do the laborious work of the habitation of Yahweh, and to stand before the assembly, to wait upon them?
Ist es euch zu wenig, daß der Gott Israels euch aus der Gemeinde Israel ausgesondert hat, um euch zu sich nahen zu lassen, damit ihr den Dienst der Wohnung Jehovas verrichtet, und vor der Gemeinde stehet, um sie zu bedienen,
10 But having brought thee near, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee, must ye seek priesthood also?
daß er dich und alle deine Brüder, die Söhne Levis, mit dir hat herzunahen lassen? Und ihr trachtet auch nach dem Priestertum!
11 Wherefore thou and all thine assembly, are conspiring against Yahweh, —But Aaron, what is he, that ye should murmur against him?
Darum rottet ihr euch zusammen, du und deine ganze Rotte, wider Jehova; denn Aaron, was ist er, daß ihr wider ihn murret?
12 Then sent Moses, to call for Dathan and for Abiram sons of Eliab, —and they said We will not come up:
Und Mose sandte hin, um Dathan und Abiram, die Söhne Eliabs, zu rufen. Aber sie sprachen: Wir kommen nicht hinauf!
13 Was it, a small thing, that thou didst bring us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to put us to death in the desert but thou must, continue even to lord it, over us?
Ist es zu wenig, daß du uns aus einem Lande, das von Milch und Honig fließt, heraufgeführt hast, um uns in der Wüste sterben zu lassen, daß du dich auch gar zum Herrscher über uns aufwirfst?
14 Certainly not into a land flowing with milk and honey, hast thou brought us, nor given unto us an inheritance of field and vineyard, —The eyes of those men, wilt thou dig out? We will not come up.
Du hast uns keineswegs in ein Land gebracht, das von Milch und Honig fließt, noch uns Äcker und Weinberge als Erbteil gegeben! Willst du diesen Leuten die Augen ausstechen? Wir kommen nicht hinauf!
15 Then was Moses very angry, and he said unto Yahweh, Do not thou have respect unto their meal-offering. Not one ass, from them, have I taken, neither have I wronged one of them.
Da ergrimmte Mose sehr und sprach zu Jehova: Wende dich nicht zu ihrer Opfergabe! nicht einen Esel habe ich von ihnen genommen, und keinem einzigen unter ihnen ein Leid getan.
16 And Moses said unto Korah, Thou, and all thine assembly, come ye before Yahweh, —thou, and they, and Aaron to-morrow.
Und Mose sprach zu Korah: Du und deine ganze Rotte, ihr sollt morgen vor Jehova erscheinen, [W. sein] du und sie und Aaron.
17 And take ye each man his censer and put thereon incense, then shall ye bring near before Yahweh, each man his censer, two hundred and fifty Censers, —and, thou and Aaron, each man his censer.
Und nehmet ein jeder seine Räucherpfanne und leget Räucherwerk darauf, und bringet ein jeder seine Räucherpfanne dar vor Jehova, 250 Räucherpfannen; und du und Aaron, ein jeder seine Räucherpfanne.
18 So they took each man his censer and put thereon fire, and placed thereon incense, —and took their stand at the entrance of the tent of meeting with Moses and Aaron.
Und sie nahmen ein jeder seine Räucherpfanne und taten Feuer darauf und legten Räucherwerk darauf; und sie traten hin an den Eingang des Zeltes der Zusammenkunft, auch Mose und Aaron.
19 And Korah gathered together against them all the assembly, unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, —then appeared the glory of Yahweh, unto all the assembly.
Und Korah versammelte wider sie die ganze Gemeinde an den Eingang des Zeltes der Zusammenkunft. Da erschien die Herrlichkeit Jehovas vor der ganzen Gemeinde.
20 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying:
Und Jehova redete zu Mose und zu Aaron und sprach:
21 Separate yourselves out of the midst of this assembly, —that I may consume them in a moment.
Sondert euch ab aus der Mitte dieser Gemeinde, und ich will sie vernichten in einem Augenblick!
22 And they fell upon their faces and said, O GOD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, —shall, one man, sin, and against all the assembly, wilt thou be wroth.
Und sie fielen auf ihr Angesicht und sprachen: Gott, [El] du Gott der Geister alles Fleisches! der eine Mann sündigt, und du solltest über die ganze Gemeinde zürnen?
23 And Yahweh spake unto Moses, saying,
Und Jehova redete zu Mose und sprach:
24 Speak unto the assembly, saying, —Get ye up from round about the habitation of Korah, Dathan and Abiram.
Rede zu der Gemeinde und sprich: Hebet euch ringsum weg von der Wohnung Korahs, Dathans und Abirams.
25 So Moses rose up, and went, unto Dathan and Abiram, —then went, after him the elders of Israel.
Da stand Mose auf und ging zu Dathan und Abiram, und ihm nach gingen die Ältesten Israels.
26 And he spake unto the assembly, saying—Remove I pray you from beside the tents of these lawless men, and do not touch aught that pertaineth unto them, —lest ye be carried off, in all their sins.
Und er redete zu der Gemeinde und sprach: Weichet doch von den Zelten dieser gesetzlosen Männer und rühret nichts an, was ihnen gehört, daß ihr nicht weggerafft werdet in allen ihren Sünden!
27 So they went up from beside the habitation of Korah, Dathan and Abiram on every side, —and, Dathan and Abiram, came out and stationed themselves at the entrance of their tents, with their wives and their sons and their little ones.
Und sie hoben sich ringsum weg von der Wohnung Korahs, Dathans und Abirams. Und Dathan und Abiram traten heraus und standen am Eingang ihrer Zelte mit ihren Weibern und ihren Söhnen und ihren Kindlein.
28 Then said Moses, Hereby, shall ye know, that, Yahweh hath sent me, to do all these works, —verily, not out of my own heart:
Und Mose sprach: Daran sollt ihr erkennen, daß Jehova mich gesandt hat, alle diese Taten zu tun, daß ich nicht aus meinem Herzen gehandelt habe:
29 If, as all human beings die, these do die, and the visitation of all human beings, be visited upon them, Yahweh, hath not sent me.
Wenn diese sterben, wie alle Menschen sterben, und mit der Heimsuchung aller Menschen heimgesucht werden, so hat Jehova mich nicht gesandt;
30 But, if, a creation, Yahweh create, and the ground open wide her mouth and swallow them up, with all that pertain unto them, and so they go down alive unto hades, then shall ye know, that these men have despised Yahweh. (Sheol h7585)
wenn aber Jehova ein Neues [W. eine Schöpfung, d. h. etwas noch nie Geschehenes] schafft, und der Erdboden seinen Mund auftut und sie verschlingt mit allem, was ihnen angehört, und sie lebendig in den Scheol hinabfahren, so werdet ihr erkennen, daß diese Männer Jehova verachtet haben. - (Sheol h7585)
31 And it came to pass as he made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground which was under them, clave asunder;
Und es geschah, als er alle diese Worte ausgeredet hatte, da spaltete sich der Erdboden, der unter ihnen war,
32 and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up them, and their households, —and all the human beings who pertained unto Korah, with all their goods:
und die Erde tat ihren Mund auf und verschlang sie und ihre Familien [W. ihre Häuser] und alle Menschen, die Korah angehörten, und die ganze Habe.
33 so, they, and all that pertained unto them, went down, alive unto hades, —and the earth, closed upon them, and they perished out of the midst of the convocation. (Sheol h7585)
Und sie fuhren, sie und alles, was ihnen angehörte, lebendig in den Scheol hinab; und die Erde bedeckte sie, und sie wurden mitten aus der Versammlung vertilgt. (Sheol h7585)
34 And, all Israel who were round about them, fled at their cry, —for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up.
Und ganz Israel, das rings um sie her war, floh bei ihrem Geschrei; denn sie sprachen: Daß die Erde uns nicht verschlinge!
35 Fire also came forth, from Yahweh, —and consumed the two hundred and fifty men, who offered the incense.
Und Feuer ging aus von Jehova und fraß die 250 Männer, die das Räucherwerk dargebracht hatten.
36 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:
Und Jehova redete zu Mose und sprach:
37 Say unto Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the midst of the burning, and the fire, scatter thou yonder, —for they have been hallowed.
Sprich zu Eleasar, dem Sohne Aarons, dem Priester, [O. des Priesters] daß er die Räucherpfannen aus dem Brande herausnehme; und streue das Feuer hinweg, denn sie sind heilig.
38 As for the censers of these sinners against their own persons, they shall be made into beaten-out plates as an overlay for the altar, for they had brought them near before Yahweh and hallowed them, —so shall they become a sign unto the sons of Israel.
Die Räucherpfannen dieser Männer, welche wider ihre Seele gesündigt haben, -man mache daraus breitgeschlagene Bleche zum Überzug für den Altar; denn sie haben sie vor Jehova dargebracht, und so sind sie heilig; und sie sollen den Kindern Israel zum Zeichen sein.
39 And Eleazar the priest took the censers of bronze, which the consumed men had brought near, —and beat them out into plates for overlaying the altar:
Und Eleasar, der Priester, nahm die ehernen Räucherpfannen, welche die Verbrannten dargebracht hatten, und man schlug sie breit zum Überzug für den Altar,
40 a memorial unto the sons of Israel, That no stranger, who is not of the seed of Aaron, shall draw near to offer incense before Yahweh, —lest he become like Korah and like his assembly, As spake Yahweh by the hand of Moses with regard thereto.
als ein Gedächtnis für die Kinder Israel, auf daß kein Fremder, der nicht vom Samen Aarons ist, herzunahe, um Räucherwerk vor Jehova zu räuchern, und es ihm nicht ergehe wie Korah und seiner Rotte, -so wie Jehova durch Mose zu ihm [d. h. zu Eleasar] geredet hatte.
41 And all the assembly of the sons of Israel murmured, on the morrow, against Moses and against, Aaron, saying, —Ye, have caused the death of the people of Yahweh.
Und die ganze Gemeinde der Kinder Israel murrte am anderen Morgen wider Mose und wider Aaron und sprach: Ihr habt das Volk Jehovas getötet!
42 And it came to pass, when the assembly gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, that they turned towards the tent of meeting, and lo! the cloud had covered it: and the glory of Yahweh, appeared.
Und es geschah, als die Gemeinde sich wider Mose und wider Aaron versammelte, da wandten sie sich zu dem Zelte der Zusammenkunft, und siehe, die Wolke bedeckte es, und die Herrlichkeit Jehovas erschien.
43 And Moses and Aaron came in, before the tent of meeting.
Da gingen Mose und Aaron vor das Zelt der Zusammenkunft.
44 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:
Und Jehova redete zu Mose und sprach:
45 Lift yourselves up out of the midst of this assembly, that I may consume them, as in a moment, —And they fell upon their faces.
Hebet euch weg aus der Mitte dieser Gemeinde, und ich will sie vernichten in einem Augenblick! Da fielen sie auf ihr Angesicht.
46 Then said Moses unto Aaron—Take the censer and place thereon fire, from off the altar, and put incense [thereon], and, going quickly into the assembly, put a propitiatory-covering over them, —for wrath hath gone forth from before Yahweh the plague, hath begun.
Und Mose sprach zu Aaron: Nimm die Räucherpfanne und tue Feuer vom Altar darauf und lege Räucherwerk auf, und bringe es eilends zu der Gemeinde und tue Sühnung für sie; denn der Zorn ist ausgegangen von [Eig. von her] Jehova, die Plage hat begonnen.
47 Then took Aaron, as Moses spake, and ran into the midst of the convocation, and lo! the plague had begun among the people, —so he placed the incense, and put a propitiatory-covering over the people:
Und Aaron nahm die Räucherpfanne, so wie Mose geredet hatte, und lief mitten unter die Versammlung, und siehe, die Plage hatte unter dem Volke begonnen; und er legte das Räucherwerk auf und tat Sühnung für das Volk.
48 thus did he take his stand between the dead and the living, —and the plague was restrained.
Und er stand zwischen den Toten und den Lebendigen, und der Plage ward gewehrt.
49 And so it was that they who died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, —besides them who died over the matter of Korah.
Und es waren derer, die an der Plage starben, 14700, außer denen, die Korahs wegen gestorben waren.
50 And Aaron returned unto Moses, unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, —when, the plague, had been restrained.
Und Aaron kam wieder zu Mose an den Eingang des Zeltes der Zusammenkunft, als der Plage gewehrt war.
