Numbers 13
1 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:
I rzekł Pan do Mojżesza, mówiąc:
2 Send for thee men and let them spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving unto the sons of Israel, —one man each for the tribe of his fathers, shalt thou send, each one a prince among them.
Poślij męże, którzy by przeszpiegowali ziemię Chananejską, którą Ja dawam synom Izraelskim; po jednym mężu z każdego pokolenia poślecie, którzy by byli przedniejsi między nimi.
3 So then Moses sent them out of the desert of Paran, at the bidding of Yahweh, —all of them, great men, heads of the sons of Israel, were they.
Wysłał je tedy Mojżesz z puszczy Faran według rozkazania Pańskiego; a oni mężowie wszyscy byli co przedniejsi z synów Izraelskich.
4 And, these, are their names, —Of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua, son of Zaccur;
A teć są imiona ich: Z pokolenia Ruben Samua, syn Zachurów.
5 Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat, son of Hori;
Z pokolenie Symeonowego Safat, syn Hurów.
6 Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb, son of Jephunneh;
Z pokolenia Judy Kaleb, syn Jefunów.
7 Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal, son of Joseph;
Z pokolenia Isaschar Igal, syn Józefów.
8 Of the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea, son of Nun;
Z pokolenia Efraimowego Ozeasz, syn Nunów.
9 Of the tribe of Benjamin, Palti, son of Raphu;
Z pokolenia Benjaminowego Falty, syn Rafuów.
10 Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel, son of Sodi;
Z pokolenia Zabulon Gedyjel, syn Sodego.
11 Of the tribe of Joseph—of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi son of Susi;
Z pokolenia Józefowego, to jest z potomstwa Manasesowego, Gady, syn Susego.
12 Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel, son of Gemalli;
Z pokolenia Dan Ammijel, syn Gemmalego.
13 Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur, son of Michael;
Z pokolenia Aser Setur, syn Michaelów.
14 Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi, son of Vophsi;
Z pokolenia Neftali, Nabi, syn Wafsego.
15 Of the tribe of Gad, Geuel, son of Machi.
Z pokolenia Gad Guel, syn Machego.
16 These, are the names of the men, whom Moses sent to spy out the land, —but Moses called Hoshea son of Nun, Joshua.
Teć są imiona mężów, które posłał Mojżesz na przeszpiegowanie ziemi: i nazwał Mojżesz Ozeasza, syna Nunowego, Jozue.
17 So Moses sent them, to spy out the land of Canaan, —and said unto them—Go up, here in the South, Yea ye shall go up the mountain;
A posyłając je Mojżesz na przeszpiegowanie ziemi Chananejskiej, mówił do nich: Idźcie w tę stronę ku południowi, a wnijdźcie na górę:
18 And shall see the land, what it is, —And the people that dwell thereupon, Whether they are, strong, or weak, Whether they are, few or many;
I oglądajcie ziemię, jaka jest, i lud, który mieszka w niej, jeźli jest mocny, czyli mdły? jeźli ich mało, czyli wiele?
19 And what, the land, is, wherein they dwell, Whether it is, good, or, bad, —And the cities within which they dwell, Whether in camps or in strongholds;
Jaka też jest ziemia, w której mieszkają, jeźli dobra, czyli zła? i co są za miasta, w których mieszkają, jeźli w namieciech, czyli w obronnych miejscach?
20 And what the land is, Whether, fat, or, lean, Whether there is timber therein or is not, Then shall ye pluck up courage and take of the fruit of the land. Now the days, were the days of the first-fruits of grapes.
Także co za ziemia, jeźli urodzajna, czyli niepłodna? jeźli w niej są drzewa, czyli nie? a bądźcie mężnego serca i przynieście nam owocu tamtej ziemi; a było to w ten czas, gdy się wina dostawały.
21 So they went up, and spied out the land, —from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob at the entering in of Hamath.
I szli, a przeszpiegowali ziemię od puszczy Syn aż do Rochob, którędy chodzą do Emat.
22 Yea they went up in the South and entered as far as Hebron, and there, were Ahiman Sheshai and Talmai descendants of the Anak. Now, Hebron, was built seven years, before Zoan of Egypt.
A idąc ku południowi przyszli aż do Hebron, gdzie byli Ahiman, Sesai i Talmai, synowie Enakowi; a Hebron siedem lat było zbudowane przed Soan Egipskiem.
23 And they entered as far as the ravine of Eschol, and cut down, from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and bare it on a pole between two, —also of the pomegranates and of the figs.
Przyszli potem aż do rzeki Eschol, i urznęli tam gałąź z gronem jednem jagód winnych, i nieśli ją na drążku, dwa także granatowe jabłka i figi.
24 That place, was called, The Ravine of Eschol ["Cluster-ravine"]—on account of the cluster, which was cut down from thence by the sons of Israel.
I nazwano miejsce ono Nachal Eschol, od grona winnego, które tam byli urznęli synowie Izraelscy.
25 And they returned from spying out the land, —at the end of forty days.
Zatem wrócili się od onego szpiegowania ziemi po wyjściu czterdziestu dni.
26 So they took their journey, and came in unto Moses and unto Aaron and unto all the assembly of the sons of Israel into the wilderness of Paran, towards Kadesh, —and brought back word—unto them and unto all the assembly, and showed them the fruit of the land.
A wróciwszy się, przyszli do Mojżesza i do Aarona, i do wszystkiego zgromadzenia synów Izraelskich na puszczą Faran, która jest w Kades; i dali im i wszystkiemu pospólstwu sprawę, ukazawszy im owoc onej ziemi.
27 And they recounted unto him, and said, We entered into the land whither thou didst send us, and surely it doth flow with milk and honey, and, this, is the fruit thereof.
A powiadali im, mówiąc: Przyszliśmy do ziemi, do którejś nas był posłał, która w prawdzie opływa mlekiem i miodem, a oto, ten jest owoc jej;
28 Nevertheless surely mighty, are the people that dwell in the land, —and, the cities, walled in, exceeding great, moreover also, the descendants of the Anak, saw we there.
Tylko że mocny jest lud, który mieszka w onej ziemi; miasta także obronne są, i bardzo wielkie; do tego i syny Enakowe tameśmy widzieli.
29 Amalek, dwelleth in the land of the South; And, the Hittite, and the Jebusite and the Amorite, dwell in the mountain And the Canaanite, dwelleth by the sea, and by the side of the Jordan.
Amalek mieszka w ziemi na południe, a Hetejczyk, i Jebuzejczyk, i Amorejczyk mieszka na górach; Chananejczyk zaś mieszka nad morzem, i nad brzegiem Jordanu.
30 And Caleb stilled the people unto Moses, —and said unto them—Let us go straight up, and possess it, for we shall, surely prevail, against it.
I hamował Kaleb lud szemrzący przeciw Mojżeszowi, i mówił: Pójdźmy a posiądźmy ziemię, bo ją pewnie sobie podbijemy.
31 But the men who went up with him said, We cannot go up against the people, —for stronger, are they than we.
Ale mężowie oni, którzy z nim chodzili, rzekli: Nie będziem mogli ciągnąć przeciw tamtemu ludowi; bo mocniejszy jest nad nas.
32 So they sent forth a rumour of the land which they had spied out, among the sons of Israel, saying, —As touching the land through which we passed to spy it out, it is, land that eateth up them who dwell therein, And all the people that we saw in the midst thereof, were men of great stature.
I zganili onę ziemię, którą byli przeszpiegowali, synom Izraelskim, mówiąc: Ziemia ta, którąśmy przeszli, i przeszpiegowali ją, jest ziemia pożerająca obywatele swoje, a lud wszystek, któryśmy w niej widzieli, lud jest wysokiego wzrostu.
33 And, there, saw we the giants, sons of Anak [descended] of the giants, —And we were in our own eyes, as grass-hoppers, And, so, were we in their eyes.
Tameśmy też widzieli olbrzymy, syny Enakowe z rodu olbrzymów; i zdaliśmy się sobie przy nich jako szarańcza, takimiż zdaliśmy się i onym.
