< Numbers 10 >

1 And Yahweh spake unto Moses, saying:
OLELO mai la o Iehova ia Mose, i mai la,
2 Make thee two trumpets of silver, of beaten work, shalt thou make them, —and they shall be unto thee for calling the assembly, and for setting forward the camps.
E hana oe i elua pu kala nou; no ka apana kala okoa kau e hana'i ia mau mea, i mea nau e houluulu ae ai i ke anaina kanaka, a no ka hele ana o ka poe hoomoana.
3 As soon as they blow therewith, so soon shall all the assembly assemble themselves unto thee, unto the entrance of the tent of meeting.
Aia puhi aku lakou ma ia mau mea, alaila e hoakoakoa ae ke anaina kanaka a pau ma ka puka o ka halelewa anaina.
4 And, if, only once, they blow, then shall the princes, the heads of the thousands of Israel, gather themselves unto thee.
5 But when ye blow an alarm, then shall set forward the camps that are encamped eastwards;
Aia puhi oukou i ka puwaikaua, alaila o ka poe hoomoana ma ka aoao hikina ke hele imua.
6 and when ye blow a second alarm, then shall set forward the camps that are encamped southwards, —an alarm, shall they blow for setting them forward,
A puhi hou oukou i ka puwaikaua, alaila o ka poe hoomoana ma ke kukuluhema ke hele aku: e puhi lakou i ka puwaikaua no ko lakou hele ana.
7 But in calling together the convocation, ye shall blow but shall not sound an alarm.
A i ka wa e houluuluia'na ke anaina kanaka, e puhi no oukou, aole nae e hookani oukou i ka puwaikaua.
8 And, the sons of Aaron the priests, shall blow with the trumpets, —and it shall be unto you for a statute age-abiding, unto your generations.
O na keiki a Aarona, o na kahuna, e puhi lakou i na pu: a he kanawai mau loa ia no oukou a no na hanauna mahope o oukou.
9 And when ye go into war in your land against the assailant that assaileth you, then shall ye blow an alarm with the trumpets, —and bring yourselves to mind before Yahweh your God, and be saved, from your enemies,
10 And in your day of rejoicing and in your appointed seasons and in the beginnings of your months, then shall ye blow with the trumpets, over your ascending-sacrifices, and over your peace-offerings, —so shall they be unto you for a memorial before your God. I—Yahweh, am your God.
Pela hoi i ka la e olioli ai oukou, a me na la houluulu o oukou a me na la mua o ko oukou mau malama, e puhi hoi oukou i na pu maluna o na mohaikuni a oukou, a maluna o na mohaimalu o oukou, i lilo ia mau mea ia oukou i mea e hoomanaoia'i imua o ko oukou Akua: owau no Iehova ko oukou Akua.
11 And so it came to pass in the second year, in the second month on the twentieth of the month, that the cloud lifted itself up, from off the habitation of the testimony;
A i ka la iwakalua o ka lua o ka malama, i ka lua o ka makahiki, lei ae la ke ao maluna aku o ka halelewa o ke kanawai.
12 and the sons of Israel set forward by their removals from the desert of Sinai, and then the cloud abode in the desert of Paran.
13 Thus then did they set forward for the first time, —at the bidding of Yahweh, by the hand of Moses.
O ka mua keia o ko lakou hele ana, e like me ka Iehova kauoha ana mai ma ka lima o Mose.
14 So the standard of the camp of the sons of Judah set forward first, by their hosts, and over his own host, was Nahshon, son of Amminadab;
15 and, over the host of the tribe of the sons of Issachar, Nethanel, son of Zuar;
A o Nataneela ke keiki a Zuara, oia no maluna o ka poe kaua o ka ohana mamo a Isekara.
16 and, over the host of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, Eliab, son of Helon.
A o Eliaba ke keiki a Helona, oia no maluna o ka poe kaua o ka ohana mamo a Zebuluna.
17 Then was taken down the habitation, —and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari set forward bearing the habitation.
Ua wawahiia'e ka halelewa: a hele aku la na mamo a Geresona, a me na mamo a Merari, e hali ana i ka halelewa
18 Then set forward the standard of the camp of Reuben, by their hosts, —and over his own host, Elizur, son of Shedeur;
A hele aku la ka hae oko Reubena poe hoomoana, ma ko lakou poe kaua: a o Elizura ke keiki a Sedeura, oia no maluna o kona poe kaua.
19 and, over the host of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Shelumiel, son of Zurishaddai;
A o Selumiela ke keiki a Zurisadai, oia no maluna o ka poe kaua o ka ohana mamo a Simeona.
20 and, over the host of the tribe of the sons of Gad, Eliasaph, son of Deuel.
A o Eliasapa ke keiki a Deuela, oia maluna o ka poe kaua o ka ohana mamo a Gada.
21 Then set forward the Kohathites, bearing the sanctuary, —and so the habitation was reared by the time they came in.
A hele aku la ka Kohata, e hali ana i na mea hoano; a na kela poe i kukulu ae i ka halelewa no ka wa i hiki aku ai lakou nei.
22 Then set forward the standard of the camp of the sons of Ephraim by their hosts, —and over his own host, was Elishama son of Ammihud;
23 and, over the host of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, Gamaliel, son of Pedahzur;
A o Gamaliela ke keiki a Pedazura, oia no maluna o ka poe kaua o ka ohana mamo a Manase.
24 and, over the host of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, Abidan, son of Gideoni.
A o Abidana ke keiki a Gideoni, oia no maluna o ka poe kaua o ka ohana mamo a Beniamina.
25 Then set forward the standard of the camp of the sons of Dan, bringing up the rear of all the camps, by their hosts, —and over his own host, Ahiezur, son of Ammishaddai;
26 and, over the host of the tribe of the sons of Asher, Pagiel, son of Ochran;
A o Pagiela ke keiki a Okera na, oia no maluna o ka poe kaua o ka ohana mamo a Asera.
27 and, over the host of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, Ahira, son of Enan.
Maluna hoi o ka poe kaua o ka ohana mamo a Napetali, o Ahira ke keiki a Enana.
28 These, were the settings-forward of the sons of Israel by their hosts, —thus did they set forward.
Pela na hele ana o na mamo a Iseraela, ma ko lakou mau poe kaua, i ka wa i hele aku ai lakou.
29 Then said Moses to Hobab, son of Raguel the Midianite, father-in-law of Moses: Setting forward, are we unto the place of which Yahweh hath said, The same, will I give unto you, —Oh come with us and we will do thee good, for, Yahweh, hath spoken good, concerning Israel.
Olelo aku la o Mose ia Hobaba, i ke keikikane a Reuela ka Midiana, ka makuahonowaikane o Mose, Ke hele aku nei makou i kahi a Iehova i i mai ai, E haawi ana au ia no oukou: e hele pu oe me makou, a e hana aku makou ia oe i ka maikai; no ka mea, ua olelo mai o Iehova i ka maikai no ka Iseraela.
30 And he said unto him, I will not go, —but unto my own land, and unto my own kindred, will I go.
I mai la kela ia ia, Aole au e hele, e hoi hou ana au i ko'u aina iho, a i ko'u poe hoahanau.
31 Then said he: I beseech thee, do not forsake us, —for, on this account, hast thou come to know of our encamping in the desert, so shalt thou be unto us as eyes;
I aku la ia, Ke noi aku nei au ia oe, mai haalele oe ia makou; no ka mea, ua ike oe e hoomoana iho ana makou ma ka waonahele, a e lilo mai oe i maka no makou.
32 and it shall be if thou wilt go with us, —yea it shall be that with the very good wherewith Yahweh shall do us good, will we do good unto thee.
Eia hoi kekahi, a i hele pu oe me makou, he oiaio no, o ka maikai a Iehova e hana mai ai ia makou, oia ka makou e hana aku ai ia oe.
33 So then they went forward, from the mountain of Yahweh, a journey of three days, —and the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, was going before them a journey of three days, to search out for them a resting-place,
34 And the cloud of Yahweh, was over them by day, —when they set forward out of the camp.
Uhi iho la ke ao o Iehova maluna o lakou i ke ao i ko lakou hele ana aku mawaho o kahi hoomoana.
35 And it came to pass when the ark set forward, that Moses said: Arise, O Yahweh! and scattered be thy foes, Let them that hate thee flee before thee;
Aia i ka hele ana aku o ka pahu imua, alaila, i aku la o Mose, E ku ae oe iluna, e Iehova; a e hoopuehuia'e kou poe enemi; a e hooauheeia'ku imua ou ka poe inaina ia oe.
36 But when it rested, he said, —Return, O Yahweh! unto the myriads of the thousands of Israel.
A ku malie iho ia, alaila, i aku la ia, E hoi hou mai oe, e Iehova, i na lehulehu o ka Iseraela.
