< Nehemiah 7 >
1 And it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, —and the doorkeepers and the singers and the Levites had been appointed,
Mgbe e wuzichara mgbidi ahụ, na mgbe m guzobesịrị ibo nʼọnụ ụzọ ya niile nʼọnọdụ ha, họpụtakwa ndị ọbụ abụ na ndị nche, na ndị Livayị.
2 that I gave Hanani my brother, and Hananiah captain of the castle, charge over Jerusalem, for, he, was a truly faithful man, and revered God above many.
Enyefere m ọrụ ilekọta Jerusalem nʼaka nwanne m nwoke bụ Hanani, ya na Hananaya onye bụ onyeisi ụlọ ukwu ahụ e wusiri ike, nʼihi na ọ bụ nwoke na-ekwu eziokwu, bụrụkwa onye na-atụ egwu Chineke karịa ọtụtụ ndị ọzọ.
3 And I said unto them, Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened until, hot, be the sun, and, while they are standing by, let them close the doors, and make them fast, —setting watches, of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one over against his own house.
Ụfọdụ ga-eche nʼebe a họpụtara ha, ụfọdụ ga-eche nʼakụkụ ụlọ nke aka ha.”
4 Now, the city, was broad on both hands, and large, but, the people, were few in the midst thereof, —and the houses had not been built.
Nʼoge a obodo ahụ buru ibu dịkwa mbara, ma ndị bi nʼime ya dị ole na ole nʼọnụọgụgụ, ụlọ ndị dị nʼime ya bụkwa ihe ewugharịbeghị.
5 So then my God put it into my heart, and I gathered together the nobles and the deputies and the people, to register their genealogy, —then found I a register roll, of them who came up at the first, and found written therein: —
Ya mere Chineke m tinyere ya nʼobi m ka m chịkọta ndị niile a na-asọpụrụ, ndị ọchịchị, na ndị niile bi nʼobodo, maka idebanye aha nʼakwụkwọ ezinaụlọ nʼezinaụlọ. Achọtara m ebe e depụtara usoro ndị mmadụ niile bụ ụzọ lọta Juda nʼoge gara aga. Nke a bụ ihe m chọpụtara edere nʼime ya:
