< Nehemiah 12 >
1 Now, these, are the priests and the Levites, who came up with Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua, —Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra;
Pea ko e kau taulaʻeiki mo e kau Livai eni, naʻe ʻalu hake mo Selupepeli ko e foha ʻo Sialiteli, mo Sesua ko Selaia, mo Selemaia, mo Esela,
2 Amariah, Malluch, Hattush;

7 Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah, —these, were the chiefs of the priests and their brethren, in the days of Jeshua.
Mo Salu, mo ʻAmoki, mo Hilikia, mo Sitaia. Ko e kau tuʻukimuʻa eni ʻoe kau taulaʻeiki, pea ʻo honau ngaahi kāinga ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻo Sesua.
8 And, the Levites, Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, Mattaniah, —over the choirs, he and his brethren;
Pea ko e kau Livai foki: ko Sesua, mo Pinui, mo Katimieli, mo Selepea, mo Siuta, mo Matania, ʻaia naʻe taki ki he fakafetaʻi, ʻaia mo hono ngaahi kāinga.
9 and Bakbukiah and Unno their brethren, were over against them, in wards.
Pea mo Pakipukia mo Uni, ko honau kāinga, naʻe hangatonu atu kiate kinautolu ʻi honau ngaahi lakanga.
10 And Jeshua, begat Joiakim, —and Joiakim, begat Eliashib, and, Eliashib, [begat] Joiada;
Pea naʻe tupu ʻia Sesua ʻa Soaikimi, pea tupu foki ʻia Soaikimi ʻa Iliasipi, pea tupu ʻia Iliasipi ʻa Sihoiata.
11 and, Joiada, begat Jonathan, —and, Jonathan, begat Jaddua.
Pea tupu ʻia Sihoiata ʻa Sonatani, pea tupu ʻia Sonatani ʻa Satua.
12 And, in the days of Joiakim, were priests, ancestral chiefs, —of Seraiah, Meraiah, of Jeremiah, Hananiah;
Pea naʻe ai ʻae kau taulaʻeiki ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻo Sihoiakimi, ko e kau tuʻukimuʻa ʻoe ngaahi mātuʻa: ʻia Selaia, ko Melaia: ʻia Selemaia, ko Hanania;
13 of Ezra, Meshullam, —of Amariah, Jehohanan;
ʻIa Esela, ko Mesulami; ʻia ʻAmalia, ko Sihohanani;

15 of Harim, Adna, —of Meraioth, Helkai;

16 of Iddo, Zechariah, —of Ginnethon, Meshullam;
ʻIa Ito, ko Sakalia; ʻia Kinitoni, ko Mesulami;
17 of Abijah, Zichri, —of Miniamin, of Moadiah, Piltai;
ʻIa ʻApisa, ko Sikili; ʻia Miniamini, ʻia Moatia, ko Pilite;
18 of Bilgah, Shammua, —of Shemaiah, Jehonathan;
ʻIa Pilika, ko Samua; ʻia Simaia, ka Sihonatani;
19 and, of Joiarib, Mattenai, —of Jedaiah, Uzzi;
Pea ʻia Soaialipi, ko Matinei; ʻia Sitaia, ko Usi;
20 of Sallai, Kallai, —of Amok, Eber;
ʻIa Salei, ko Kalei; ʻia ʻAmoki, ko ʻIpeli,
21 of Hilkiah, Hashabiah, —of Jedaiah, Nethanel.
ʻIa Hilikia, ko Hasapea; ʻia Sitaia, ka Netanili.
22 The Levites—in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, and Johanan, and Jaddua, were recorded as ancestral chiefs, —also the priests, unto the reign of Darius the Persian.
Naʻe tohi ʻae kau Livai ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻo Iliasipi, ko Sihoiata, mo Sohanani, mo Satua, ko e kau tuʻukimuʻa ʻoe kau mātuʻa: mo e kau taulaʻeiki foki, ʻo hoko mo e pule ʻa Talaiasi ko e tangata Peasia.
23 the sons of Levi, ancestral heads, were written in the book of Chronicles, —even until the days of Johanan, son of Eliashib.
Ko e ngaahi foha ʻo Livai, ko e kau tuʻukimuʻa ʻoe kau mātuʻa, naʻe tohi ʻi he tohi ʻoe toenga talanoa, ʻo hoko ki he ngaahi ʻaho ʻo Sohanani ko e foha ʻo Iliasipi.
24 And, the chiefs of the Levites, Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua son of Kadmiel, with their brethren over against them, to praise—to give thanks, by the commandment of David the man of God, —ward joined to ward.
Pea ko e kau tuʻukimuʻa ʻoe kau Livai: ko Hasapea, mo Selepea, mo Sesua ko e foha ʻo Katimieli, mo honau kāinga naʻe hangatonu kiate kinautolu, ke fai fakamālō, mo ʻatu ʻae fakafetaʻi, ʻo hangē ko e fekau ʻa Tevita ko e tangata ʻae ʻOtua, ko e hangatonu atu ʻae lakanga ki he lakanga ʻe taha.
25 Mattaniah and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were watchers, doorkeepers of the ward, in the storehouses of the gates.
Ko e kau leʻo matapā naʻe tauhi ʻi he tulutulu ʻoe ngaahi matapā, ko Matania, mo Pakipukia, mo ʻOpataia, mo Mesulami, mo Talimoni, mo ʻAkupi.
26 These, were in the days of Joiakim, son of Jeshua, son of Jozadak, —and in the days of Nehemiah the pasha, and Ezra the priest the scribe.
Naʻe ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻo Sihoiakimi ko e foha ʻo Sesua, ko e foha ʻo Sosataki, ʻakinautolu ni, pea ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻo Nehemaia ko e pule, pea mo Esela ko e taulaʻeiki mo e tangata tohi.
27 And, at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, they sought the Levites, out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, —to keep the dedication and the rejoicing, both with thanksgiving and with music, cymbals, harps, and with lyres.
Pea ʻi he fakatapui ʻoe ʻā maka ʻo Selūsalema naʻa nau kumi ʻae kau Livai mei honau ngaahi potu kotoa pē, ke ʻomi ʻakinautolu ki Selūsalema, ke fai ʻae fakatapui ʻi he fiefia lahi, ʻi he ngaahi fakafetaʻi, mo e hiva, mo e ngaahi meʻa pakihi, mo e ngaahi ūtete mo e ngaahi haʻape.
28 So the sons of the singers gathered themselves together, —both out of the circuit round about Jerusalem, and out of the villages of the Netophathites;
Pea naʻe fakakātoa ʻae ngaahi foha ʻoe kau hiva, mei he potu fonua tafangafanga naʻe takatakai ʻi Selūsalema, pea mei he ngaahi potu kakai ʻo Nitofa;
29 also out of Beth-gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba, and Azmaveth, —for, villages, had the singers builded for themselves, round about Jerusalem.
Pea mei he fale ʻo Kilikali foki, pea mei he ngaahi ngoue ʻo Kepa mo ʻAsimaveti: he naʻe langa honau ngaahi potu ke nofo ai ʻe he kau hiva ʻo takatakai ʻi Selūsalema.
30 And the priests and the Levites purified themselves, —and purified the people, and the gates, and the wall.
Pea naʻe fakamaʻa ʻakinautolu ʻe he kau taulaʻeiki mo e kau Livai, pea fakamaʻa ʻae kakai, mo e ngaahi matapā, mo e ʻā maka.
31 Then brought I up the rulers of Judah upon the wall, —and I appointed two large choirs, even to go in procession to the right, upon the wall, towards the dung-gate;
Pea ne u toki ʻomi ʻae houʻeiki ʻo Siuta ki ʻolunga ki he ʻā maka, pea fokotuʻu honau vāhenga lahi ʻe ua ʻonautolu ke fai fakafetaʻi, pea naʻe ʻalu honau fakataha ʻe taha ki he nima toʻomataʻu ʻoe funga ʻā maka ʻo hanga atu ki he matapā tuʻunga veve:
32 and after them went Hoshaiah, and half the rulers of Judah;
Pea naʻe muimui ʻiate kinautolu ʻa Hosaia, mo hono vaeuaʻanga ʻe taha ʻoe houʻeiki ʻo Siuta,
33 then Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam;
Mo ʻAsalia, mo Esela, mo Mesulami,
34 Judah, and Benjamin, and Shemaiah, and Jeremiah;
Mo Siuta, mo Penisimani, mo Simaia, mo Selemaia,
35 and, of the sons of the priests, with trumpets, Zechariah—son of Jonathan—son of Shemaiah—son of Mattaniah, son of Micaiah, son of Zaccur, son of Asaph;
Mo e niʻihi ʻoe ngaahi foha ʻoe kau taulaʻeiki, ʻaki ʻae ngaahi meʻalea; ʻio, ʻa Sakalia ko e foha ʻo Sonatani, ko e foha ʻo Simaia, ko e foha ʻo Sakuli, ko e foha ʻo ʻAsafi;
36 and his brethren—Shemaiah and Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, and Judah, Hanani, with the instruments of music of David, the man of God, —with Ezra the scribe before them;
Mo hono ngaahi kāinga, ko Simaia, mo ʻAsalili, mo Milale, mo Kilale, mo Meai, mo Netanili, mo Siuta, mo Hanani, mo e ngaahi meʻa faiva ʻa Tevita ko e tangata ʻae ʻOtua, mo Esela ko e tangata tohi ʻi honau ʻao.
37 and, over they fountain gate and straight before them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the going up of the wall, —above the house of David, even as far as the water-gate, eastward.
Pea naʻa nau ʻalu hake ʻi he matapā ʻoe mata vai, ʻaia naʻe hangatonu atu kiate kinautolu, ʻi he ngaahi tuʻunga ʻoe kolo ʻa Tevita, ʻi he ʻalu hake ʻoe ʻā maka, ʻi ʻolunga ʻi he fale ʻo Tevita, ʻio, ʻo aʻu atu ki he matapā vai ʻi he potu hahake.
38 And, the second choir, was going over against them, I, following it, —with the half of the people upon the wall, above the tower of the ovens, even as far as the broad wall;
Pea ko hono fakataha ʻe taha ʻokinautolu naʻe fai fakafetaʻi naʻe ʻalu ki he potu naʻe hangatonu mai kiate kinautolu, pea naʻaku muimui atu kiate kinautolu, mo hono vaeuaʻanga ʻe taha ʻoe kakai ʻi he funga ʻā maka, mei he potu mamaʻo atu ʻi he fale māʻolunga ʻoe ngaahi afi tutuʻanga meʻa, ʻio, ʻo aʻu atu ki he ʻā maka laulahi;
39 and above the gate of Ephraim, and upon the old gate, and upon the fish-gate, and the tower of Hananel, and the tower of Hammeah, even as far as the sheep-gate, —and they came to a stand, at the gate of the guard.
Pea mei he potu ki ʻolunga hake ʻi he matapā ʻo ʻIfalemi, pea mei ʻolunga ʻi he matapā motuʻa, pea ki ʻolunga ʻi he matapā ika, pea mei he fale māʻolunga ʻo Hananili, mo e fale māʻolunga ʻo Mea, ʻio, ʻo aʻu ki he matapā sipi: pea naʻa nau tuʻumaʻu pe ʻi he matapā ʻoe fale fakapōpula.
40 So the two choirs, came to a stand, at the house of God, —and I, and half the deputies with me;
Pea naʻe pehē ʻae tuʻu ʻae fakataha ʻe ua naʻe fai fakafetaʻi ʻi he fale ʻoe ʻOtua, mo au pea mo hono vaeuaʻanga ʻe taha ʻoe kau pule:
41 and, the priests—Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;
Pea ko e kau taulaʻeiki eni: ko Iliakimi, mo Maaseia, mo Miniamini, mo Mikaia, mo Ilionei, mo Sakalia, mo Hanania, ʻaki ʻae ngaahi meʻa lea;
42 and Maaseiah and Shemaiah and Eleazar and Uzzi and Jehohanan and Malchijah and Elam and Ezer, —and the musicians sounded, aloud with Jezrahiah who was over them.
Mo Maaseia, mo Simaia, mo ʻEliesa, mo Usi, mo Sihohanani, mo Malikisa, mo ʻIlami, mo Eseli. Pea naʻe hiva kalanga ʻae kau hiva, fakataha mo honau taki muʻa ko Siselahia.
43 And they sacrificed, on that day, great sacrifices, and rejoiced, for, God, had caused them to rejoice with great joy, moreover also, the women and children, rejoiced, —so that the rejoicing of Jerusalem was heard afar off.
Pea naʻa nau ʻatu foki ʻi he ʻaho ko ia ʻae ngaahi feilaulau lahi, ʻi he fiefia: he naʻe fakafiefiaʻi ʻakinautolu ʻi he fiefia lahi; pea naʻe fiefia ʻae ngaahi uaifi foki mo e fānau; ko ia naʻe ongo ki he mamaʻo ʻae fiefia ʻa Selūsalema.
44 And there were set in charge, on that day, certain men, over the chambers for the treasures, for the heave-offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them, out of the fields of the cities, the portions appointed by the law, for the priests, and for the Levites, —for, the joy of Judah, was over the priests and over the Levites, who were remaining.
Pea naʻe fakanofo ʻi he kuonga ko ia ʻae niʻihi, ke tauhi ʻae ngaahi fale ki he ngaahi koloa, ko e ngaahi meʻa ʻoku ʻatu, mo e ngaahi ʻuluaki fua, pea ki he ngaahi tāuvao, ke tānaki ki ai mei he ngaahi ngoue ʻi he ngaahi kolo ʻae ngaahi ʻinasi ʻoe fono ki he kau taulaʻeiki, mo e kau Livai: he naʻe fiefia ʻa Siuta koeʻuhi ko e kau taulaʻeiki mo e kau Livai naʻe ngāue.
45 So they kept the charge of their God, and the charge of the purification, and [so did] the singers and the doorkeepers, —according to the commandment of David and of Solomon his son.
46 For, in the days of David and Asaph, of old, there were chiefs of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving, unto God.
He naʻe ʻi ai ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻo Tevita, mo ʻAsafi, ʻae kau takimuʻa ʻi he kau hiva, mo e ngaahi hiva ʻoe fakaongolelei mo e fakafetaʻi ki he ʻOtua.
47 Now, all Israel—in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, used to give the portions of the singers and the doorkeepers, the need of a day upon its day, —and they hallowed them unto the Levites, and, the Levites, hallowed them unto the sons of Aaron.
Pea ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻo Selupepeli, pea ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻo Nehemaia, naʻe foaki ʻe ʻIsileli kotoa pē ʻae ngaahi ʻinasi tokoni ki he kau hiva mo e kau leʻo matapā, taki taha ʻene tokoni ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē: pea naʻa nau vaheʻi ʻae ngaahi meʻa tapu maʻae kau Livai; pea naʻe vaheʻi ia ʻe he kau Livai maʻae fānau ʻa ʻElone.
