Nehemiah 11

1 And the rulers of the people dwelt in Jerusalem, —and, the rest of the people, cast lots, to bring in one out of ten to dwell in Jerusalem, the holy city, and nine parts in [other] cities.

Et les Chefs du peuple demeuraient dans Jérusalem, et le reste du peuple tira au sort pour en faire venir un sur dix habiter Jérusalem, la Ville Sainte, et distribuer les neuf autres dixièmes dans les villes.

2 And the people bestowed a blessing on all the men, who willingly offered themselves to dwell in Jerusalem.

Et le peuple bénit tous les hommes qui volontairement consentirent à habiter Jérusalem.

3 Now, these, are the chiefs of the province, who dwelt in Jerusalem, but, in the cities of Judah, dwelt every man in his possession throughout their cities, Israel, the priests, and the Levites and the Nethinim, and the Sons of the Servants of Solomon.

Et voici les chefs de la province dont le domicile fut à Jérusalem. Or dans les villes de Juda chacun habitait sur sa propriété dans leurs villes, Israélites, Prêtres et Lévites et Assujettis et fils des serviteurs de Salomon.

4 And, in Jerusalem, dwelt certain of the sons of Judah and of the sons of Benjamin, —Of the sons of Judah, Athaiah son of Uzziah, son of Zechariah, son of Amariah, son of Shephatiah, son of Mahalalel, of the sons of Perez;

Et à Jérusalem habitaient des fils de Juda et des fils de Benjamin; des fils de Juda: Athaïa, fils de Uzzia, fils de Zacharie, fils d'Amaria, fils de Sephatia, fils de Mahalaleël, des fils de Pérets,

5 and Maaseiah son of Baruch, son of Col-hozeh, son of Hazaiah, son of Adaiah, son of Joiarib, son of Zechariah, son of the Shilonite.

et Maaseïa, fils de Baruch, fils de Chol-Hoseh, fils de Hazaïa, fils de Adaïa, fils de Jojarib, fils de Zacharie, fils de Siloni.

6 All the sons of Perez who were dwelling in Jerusalem, four hundred and sixty-eight, men of ability.

Tous les fils de Pérets domiciliés à Jérusalem étaient au nombre de quatre cent soixante-huit, hommes vaillants.

7 And, these, are the sons of Benjamin, —Sallu son of Meshullam, son of Joed, son of Pedaiah, son of Kolaiah, son of Maaseiah, son of Ithiel, son of Jeshaiah;

Et voici les fils de Benjamin: Sallu, fils de Mesullam, fils de Joëd, fils de Pedaïa, fils de Colaïa, fils de Maaseïa, fils de Ithiel, fils d'Esaïe;

8 and, after him, Gabbai, Sallai, —nine hundred and twenty-eight.

et après lui Gabbaï et Sallaï, neuf cent vingt-huit,

9 And, Joel son of Zichri, was in charge over them, —and, Judah son of Hassenuah, was over the city, as second.

et Joël, fils de Zichri, était préposé sur eux, et Juda, fils de Hasnua, était préposé en second sur la Ville.

10 Of the priests, Jedaiah son of Joiarib, Jachin;

Des Prêtres: Jedaïa, fils de Jojarib, Jachin,

11 Seraiah son of Hilkiah, son of Meshullam, son of Zadok, son of Meraioth, son of Ahitub, chief ruler of the house of God;

Seraïa, fils de Hilkia, fils de Mesullam, fils de Tsadoc, fils de Meraïoth, fils de Ahitub, primicier de la Maison,

12 and their brethren who were doing the work of the house, eight hundred and twenty-two, —and Adaiah son of Jeroham, son of Pelaliah, son of Amzi, son of Zechariah, son of Pashhur, son of Malchijah;

et leurs frères occupés aux affaires de la Maison de Dieu, huit cent vingt-deux; et Adaïa, fils de Jeroham, fils de Pelalia, fils de Amtsi, fils de Zacharie, fils de Paschur, fils de Malchiia,

13 and his brethren, ancestral chiefs, two hundred and forty-two, —and Amashsai son of Azarel, son of Ahzai, son of Meshillemoth, son of Immer;

et ses frères, chefs des maisons patriarcales, deux cent quarante-deux; et Amassai, fils de Azareël, fils de Achzaï, fils de Mesillémoth, fils de Immer,

14 and their brethren, strong men of ability, a hundred and twenty-eight, —and, he who was in charge of them, was Zabdiel, son of Haggedolim.

et leurs frères, hommes vaillants, cent vingt-huit; et sur eux était préposé Zabdiel, fils de Gedolim.

15 And, of the Levites, Shemaiah son of Hasshub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah, son of Bunni;

Et des Lévites: Semaïa, fils de Hassub, fils de Azricam, fils de Hasabia, fils de Bunni,

16 and Shabbethai and Jozabad, over the outside business of the house of God, of the chiefs of the Levites;

et Sabthaï, et Jozabad, préposé sur les affaires extérieures dans la Maison de Dieu, des chefs des Lévites,

17 and Mattaniah son of Mica, son of Zabdi, son of Asaph, leader of the praise who giveth thanks, in prayer, and Bakbukiah the second among his brethren, —and Obadiah son of Shemaiah, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun.

et Matthania, fils de Micha, fils de Zabdi, fils de Asaph, le chef qui le premier entonnait la louange à la prière, et Bakbukia, le second de ses frères, et Abda, fils de Sammua, fils de Galal, fils de Jeduthun:

18 All the Levites in the holy city, were two hundred and eighty-four.

19 And, the door-keepers—Akkub, Talmon, and their brethren who were keeping watch in the gates, were a hundred and seventy-two.

20 But, the residue of Israel, the priests, the Levites, were in all the cities of Judah, every one in his inheritance.

Et les autres Israélites, les Prêtres, les Lévites étaient dans toutes les villes de Juda, chacun sur sa propriété.

21 Howbeit, the Nethinim, were dwelling in Ophel, —and, Ziha and Gishpa, were over the Nethinim.

Et les Assujettis habitaient sur la Colline, et Tsiha et Gispa étaient préposés sur les Assujettis.

22 And, the overseer of the Levites in Jerusalem, was Uzzi son of Bani, son of Hashabiah, son of Mattaniah, son of Mica, —of the sons of Asaph the singers, to take lead in the business of the house of God.

Et le préposé des Lévites à Jérusalem était Uzzi, fils de Bani, fils de Hasabia, fils de Matthania, fils de Micha, des fils d'Asaph les Chantres, pour les affaires de la Maison de Dieu.

23 For, the commandment of the king, was upon them, —as to a fixed provision for the singers, the need of a day upon its day.

24 And, Pethahiah son of Meshezabel, of the sons of Zerah, son of Judah, was at the hand of the king, in every matter pertaining to the people.

Et Pethahia, fils de Meseizabéel, des fils de Zérah, fils de Juda, était à la portée du roi dans toutes les choses du peuple.

25 And, as for the villages in their fields, some of the sons of Judah, dwelt in Kiriath-arba, and the hamlets thereof, and in Dibon, and the hamlets thereof, and in Jekabzeel, and the villages thereof;

Quant aux bourgs de leurs campagnes, des fils de Juda habitaient Kiriath-Arba et ses annexes, et Dibon et ses annexes et Jecabtseël et ses bourgs

26 and in Jeshua, and in Moladah, and in Beth-pelet;

et Jésua et Molada et Beth-Palet

27 and in Hazar-shual, and in Beer-sheba, and the hamlets thereof;

et Hatsar-Sual et Bëerséba et ses annexes

28 and in Ziklag, and in Meconah, and in the hamlets thereof,

et Tsiklag et Mechona et ses annexes

29 and in En-rimmmon, and in Zorah, and in Jarmuth;

et Ein-Rimmon et Tsoreha et Jarmuth,

30 Zanoah, Adullam and their villages, Lachish, and the fields thereof, Azekah, and the hamlets thereof, —so they encamped from Beer-sheba, unto the valley of Hinnom.

Zanoah, Adullam et leurs bourgs, Lachis et ses campagnes, Azeca et ses annexes. Et ils s'établirent de Béerséba à la vallée de Hinnom.

31 And, the sons of Benjamin, [dwelt] from Geba, to Michmas and Aija, and Bethel, and the hamlets thereof:

Et les fils de Benjamin depuis Géba dans Michmas et Aïa et Béthel et ses annexes,

32 Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah;

Anathoth, Nob, Anania,

33 Hazor, Ramah, Gittaim;

Hatsor, Rama, Githaïm,

34 Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat;

Hadid, Tseboïm, Neballat,

35 Lod and Ono, the valley of craftsmen.

Lod et Ono dans la vallée des charpentiers.

36 Howbeit, of the Levites, certain courses of Judah, pertained unto Benjamin.

Et des Lévites habitaient par divisions entre Juda et Benjamin.
