Nehemiah 10
1 Now, upon the sealed writings, were, —Nehemiah the governor, son of Hacaliah, and Zedekiah;

28 And, the rest of the people—the priests, the Levites, the doorkeepers, the singers, the Nethinim, and all who had separated themselves from the peoples of the lands unto the law of God, their wives, their sons and their daughters, —every one having knowledge and understanding,
Resten av folket, prestene, levittene, dørvokterne, sangerne, tempeltjenerne og alle de som hadde skilt sig fra de fremmede folk for å leve efter Guds lov, med hustruer, sønner og døtre, så mange som hadde kunnskap og forstand -
29 were holding fast unto their distinguished brethren, and were entering into a curse and into an oath, to walk in the law of God, which was given through Moses the servant of God, —and to observe and do, all the commandments of Yahweh our Lord, and his regulations, and his statutes;
alle disse holdt sig til de fornemme blandt sine brødre og svor en dyr ed på at de vilde vandre efter Guds lov, som var gitt ved Guds tjener Moses, og at de vilde holde og gjøre efter alle Herrens, vår Herres bud og lover og forskrifter,
30 and that we would not give our daughters unto the peoples of the land, —and, their daughters, would we not take for our sons;
at vi ikke skulde gi våre døtre til de fremmede folk, ei heller ta deres døtre til hustruer for våre sønner,
31 and, if the peoples of the land should be bringing in wares, or any corn on the sabbath day, to sell, we would not buy of them on the sabbath, or on a holy day, —and that we would remit the seventh year, and the loan of every hand.
at vi, når de fremmede folk kom med sine varer og alle slags korn for å selge det på sabbaten, ikke skulde kjøpe det av dem på sabbaten eller nogen annen helligdag, og at vi i det syvende år skulde la landet hvile og eftergi alle krav.
32 And we laid on ourselves charges, appointing for ourselves the third of a shekel, yearly, —for the service of the house of our God:
Og vi påtok oss den forpliktelse at vi skulde avgi tredjedelen av en sekel årlig til tjenesten i vår Guds hus,
33 for the bread to set in array, and the continual meal-offering, and for the continual ascending-sacrifice, of the sabbaths, of the new moons, for the appointed feasts, and for things hallowed, and for victims bearing sin, to put a propitiatory-covering over Israel, —and for all the work of the house of our God.
til skuebrødene og det daglige matoffer og det daglige brennoffer og til offerne på sabbatene, nymånedagene og høitidene og til takkofferne og til syndofferne som tjente til soning for Israel, og til alt arbeidet i vår Guds hus.
34 Also, lots, did we cast, concerning the offering of wood among the priests, the Levites, and the people, to bring it unto the house of our God, by our ancestral houses, at times arranged, year by year, —to burn upon the altar of Yahweh our God, as it is written in the law.
Og vi, prestene, levittene og folket, kastet lodd om avgivelsen av ved til templet, hvorledes vi år for år til fastsatte tider skulde føre den til vår Guds hus efter våre familier for å brenne den på Herrens, vår Guds alter, som foreskrevet er i loven.
35 And that we would bring in the firstfruits of our ground, and the firstfruit of all fruit of all trees, year by year, —unto the house of Yahweh;
Vi vedtok også år for år å føre førstegrøden av vår jord og de første modne frukter av alle trær til Herrens hus
36 also that, the firstborn of our sons, and of our cattle, as it is written in the law, —and the firstlings of our herds and of our flocks, we would bring in unto the house of our God, unto the priests who should be in attendance in the house of our God;
og de førstefødte av våre sønner og av vår buskap, som foreskrevet er i loven, og å føre det førstefødte av vårt storfe og vårt småfe til vår Guds hus, til prestene som gjør tjeneste i vår Guds hus;
37 and, the first part of our meal and our heave-offerings and the fruit of all trees, new wine and oil, would we bring in unto the priests, into the chambers of the house of our God, and the tithe of our ground unto the Levites, —the Levites themselves, taking the tithes in all our cities of agriculture.
og det første av vårt mel og våre hellige gaver og alle slags trefrukt, most og olje skulde vi føre til prestene, til kammerne i vår Guds hus, og tienden av vår jord til levittene, og levittene skulde selv innkreve tiende i alle de byer hvor vi driver akerbruk.
38 And the priest the son of Aaron should be with the Levites, when the Levites should take the tithes, —and the Levites, should bring up the tithe of the tithe, unto the house of our God, into the chambers pertaining unto the treasure-house.
Og en prest, en av Arons sønner, skulde være med levittene når de innkrevde tiende, og selv skulde levittene føre tienden av sin tiende op til vår Guds hus, til kammerne i forrådshuset.
39 For, into the chambers, should the sons of Israel and the sons of Levi bring in the heave-offering of the corn, the new wine and the oil, since, there, are the utensils of the sanctuary, and the priests who are in attendance, and the doorkeepers, and the singers, —so would we not neglect the house of our God.
For både Israels barn og Levis barn skulde føre den hellige avgift av kornet, mosten og oljen til kammerne, hvor helligdommens kar er, og hvor de prester som gjør tjeneste, og dørvokterne og sangerne holder til. - Vi skulde ikke svikte vår Guds hus.
