Nehemiah 10

1 Now, upon the sealed writings, were, —Nehemiah the governor, son of Hacaliah, and Zedekiah;

28 And, the rest of the people—the priests, the Levites, the doorkeepers, the singers, the Nethinim, and all who had separated themselves from the peoples of the lands unto the law of God, their wives, their sons and their daughters, —every one having knowledge and understanding,

Le reste du peuple, les prêtres, les lévites, les portiers, les chantres, les serviteurs du temple, et tous ceux qui s'étaient séparés des peuples des pays pour suivre la loi de Dieu, leurs femmes, leurs fils et leurs filles - tous ceux qui avaient de la connaissance et de l'intelligence -

29 were holding fast unto their distinguished brethren, and were entering into a curse and into an oath, to walk in the law of God, which was given through Moses the servant of God, —and to observe and do, all the commandments of Yahweh our Lord, and his regulations, and his statutes;

se joignirent à leurs frères, leurs nobles, et ils s'engagèrent par une malédiction et par un serment à suivre la loi de Dieu, donnée par Moïse, serviteur de Dieu, à observer et à mettre en pratique tous les commandements de Yahvé notre Seigneur, ses ordonnances et ses lois;

30 and that we would not give our daughters unto the peoples of the land, —and, their daughters, would we not take for our sons;

Nous ne donnerons pas nos filles aux peuples du pays et nous ne prendrons pas leurs filles pour nos fils;

31 and, if the peoples of the land should be bringing in wares, or any corn on the sabbath day, to sell, we would not buy of them on the sabbath, or on a holy day, —and that we would remit the seventh year, and the loan of every hand.

Si les peuples du pays apportent des marchandises ou du grain à vendre le jour du sabbat, nous n'achèterons rien d'eux le jour du sabbat ou un jour saint, et nous renoncerons aux récoltes de la septième année et à l'acquittement de toute dette.

32 And we laid on ourselves charges, appointing for ourselves the third of a shekel, yearly, —for the service of the house of our God:

Nous avons aussi établi des ordonnances pour nous-mêmes, afin de nous imposer chaque année le tiers d'un sicle pour le service de la maison de notre Dieu:

33 for the bread to set in array, and the continual meal-offering, and for the continual ascending-sacrifice, of the sabbaths, of the new moons, for the appointed feasts, and for things hallowed, and for victims bearing sin, to put a propitiatory-covering over Israel, —and for all the work of the house of our God.

pour les pains de proposition, pour l'offrande perpétuelle, pour l'holocauste perpétuel, pour les sabbats, pour les nouvelles lunes, pour les fêtes, pour les choses saintes, pour les sacrifices pour le péché en expiation pour Israël, et pour tous les travaux de la maison de notre Dieu.

34 Also, lots, did we cast, concerning the offering of wood among the priests, the Levites, and the people, to bring it unto the house of our God, by our ancestral houses, at times arranged, year by year, —to burn upon the altar of Yahweh our God, as it is written in the law.

Nous, prêtres, lévites et peuple, nous tirerons au sort l'offrande de bois, pour l'apporter dans la maison de notre Dieu, selon les maisons de nos pères, aux époques fixées chaque année, afin de la brûler sur l'autel de l'Éternel, notre Dieu, comme il est écrit dans la loi;

35 And that we would bring in the firstfruits of our ground, and the firstfruit of all fruit of all trees, year by year, —unto the house of Yahweh;

et pour apporter chaque année à la maison de l'Éternel les prémices de notre sol et les prémices de tous les fruits de toutes les espèces d'arbres;

36 also that, the firstborn of our sons, and of our cattle, as it is written in the law, —and the firstlings of our herds and of our flocks, we would bring in unto the house of our God, unto the priests who should be in attendance in the house of our God;

ainsi que les premiers-nés de nos fils et de notre bétail, comme il est écrit dans la loi, et les premiers-nés de nos troupeaux et de nos cheptels, pour les apporter à la maison de notre Dieu, aux prêtres qui font le service dans la maison de notre Dieu;

37 and, the first part of our meal and our heave-offerings and the fruit of all trees, new wine and oil, would we bring in unto the priests, into the chambers of the house of our God, and the tithe of our ground unto the Levites, —the Levites themselves, taking the tithes in all our cities of agriculture.

et d'apporter aux prêtres, dans les salles de la maison de notre Dieu, les prémices de notre pâte, nos offrandes ondulées, les fruits de toutes les espèces d'arbres, le vin nouveau et l'huile, et aux Lévites les dîmes de notre sol, car ce sont eux, les Lévites, qui prélèvent les dîmes dans tous nos villages agricoles.

38 And the priest the son of Aaron should be with the Levites, when the Levites should take the tithes, —and the Levites, should bring up the tithe of the tithe, unto the house of our God, into the chambers pertaining unto the treasure-house.

Le prêtre, descendant d'Aaron, sera avec les Lévites lorsque les Lévites prélèveront la dîme. Les Lévites monteront la dîme des dîmes à la maison de notre Dieu, dans les chambres, dans la maison du trésor.

39 For, into the chambers, should the sons of Israel and the sons of Levi bring in the heave-offering of the corn, the new wine and the oil, since, there, are the utensils of the sanctuary, and the priests who are in attendance, and the doorkeepers, and the singers, —so would we not neglect the house of our God.

Car les enfants d'Israël et les enfants de Lévi apporteront l'offrande ondulée du blé, du vin nouveau et de l'huile, dans les chambres où se trouvent les ustensiles du sanctuaire, et les prêtres qui font le service, avec les portiers et les chantres. Nous n'abandonnerons pas la maison de notre Dieu.
