Nahum 1
1 The oracle, on Nineveh, —the scroll of the vision of Nahum, the Elkoshite.
Esiae nye nyagblɔɖi si Mawu ɖe fia Nyagblɔɖila Nahum, Elkositɔ, le ŋutega me tso nu si ava dzɔ ɖe Ninive dzi la ŋu, eye wòŋlɔe ɖe agbalẽ sia me.
2 A GOD jealous and avenging, is Yahweh, an avenger, is Yahweh, and a lord of wrath, an avenger, is Yahweh towards his adversaries, and, a retainer [of anger], is he to his foes.
Yehowa nye Mawu ʋãŋu kple hlɔ̃biala. Ebiaa hlɔ̃, eye wòyɔ fũu kple dɔmedzoe. Yehowa biaa hlɔ̃ eƒe ketɔwo, eye wòléa dziku ɖi na eƒe futɔwo.
3 Yahweh, is slow to anger, but great in vigour, He will not leave, unpunished, as for Yahweh, in storm-wind and in tempest, is his way, and, clouds, are the dust of his feet.
Yehowa medoa dziku kaɖikaɖi o, ŋusẽ triakɔ le esi, eye magbe tohehe na agɔdzela o. Eƒe mɔwo to ahom kple ya sẽsewo me, eye lilikpowoe nye eƒe afɔ ƒe ʋuʋudedi.
4 Who rebuketh the sea and hath made it dry, and, all the streams, hath he dried up, —withered are Bashan and Carmel, Even the bloom of Lebanon, is withered:
Eblu ɖe atsiaƒu ta wòmie, eye wòna tɔsisiwo me ƒu kplakplakpla. Basan kple Karmel ƒe lãnyiƒe damawo zu gbegbe, eye Lebanon ƒe ave damawo zu dzogbe.
5 Mountains, have trembled because of him, and, the hills, have melted, —and the earth, hath lifted itself up, at his presence, the world also, and all who dwell therein.
Towo ʋuʋu kpekpekpe, eye togbɛwo lolõ gbanaa le eŋkume, anyigba kple edzinɔlawo katã ʋuʋu le eŋkume.
6 Before his indignation, who shall stand? And who shall abide the glow of his anger? His wrath, hath been poured forth like fire, and, the rocks, have been broken down because of him.
Ame ka ate ŋu anɔ te ɖe eƒe dziku nu? Ame ka ate ŋu anɔ te ɖe eƒe dɔmedzoe helĩhelĩ la nu? Ekɔ eƒe dɔmedzoe ɖe anyi abe dzo ene, eye agakpewo kaka le eŋkume.
7 Good is Yahweh, as a protection in the day of distress, —and one who acknowledgeth them who seek refuge in him.
Yehowa nyo, elabena enye sitsoƒe le xaxa me! Eléa be na ame si xɔa edzi sena.
8 But, with an overflow rolling on, a full end, will he make of them who rise up against him, —and, his foes, will he pursue into darkness.
Ke atsrɔ̃ Ninive kple tɔɖɔɖɔ, eye wòanya eƒe futɔwo aɖo ɖe viviti me.
9 What can ye devise against Yahweh? A full end, is he making, —Distress, shall not rise up twice:
Nugbe ɖe sia ɖe si woɖo ɖe Yehowa ŋu la, mana wòadze edzi o, ke boŋ gbegblẽ mava na wo zi evelia o.
10 Though they were like thorns intertwined, and as drunkards drenched with their drink, yet have they been devoured, like stubble fully dry.
Woabla wo ɖe ŋuve me, woano woawo ŋutɔ ƒe wain amu, eye woabi abe gbe ƒuƒu ene.
11 Out of thee, hath one come forth—plotting, against Yahweh, wickedness, —A counselor of the Abandoned One.
O Ninive, mewòe ame si ɖo nugbe ɖe Yehowa ŋu, eye wòɖo aɖaŋu vlo na amewo la do tso.
12 Thus, saith Yahweh, Though they be in full force, and so in great numbers, yet, even so, have they been cut off, and have passed away, —If I humble thee [once], I will not humble thee again.
Ale Yehowa gblɔe nye esi: “Togbɔ be wosɔ gbɔ, eye kpeɖeŋutɔwo le wo si hã la, wo katã woatsrɔ̃, eye wo nu ava ayi. O Yuda, togbɔ be mede abi ŋuwò hã la, nyemagade abi ŋuwò azɔ o.
13 Now, therefore, will I break his yoke from off thee, —and, thy fetters, will I tear off.
Azɔ la, maŋe kɔkuti le wò kɔ, eye matu ka wò tso bablawo me.”
14 Then will Yahweh give command concerning thee, None of thy name shall be sown any more, —out of the house of thy gods, will I cut off carved image and molten image, I will appoint thy grave, for thou art of little esteem.
Yehowa de se tso wò Ninive ŋuti be: “Womayɔ wò ŋkɔ ɖe dzidzime aɖeke ŋuti o. Mafli miaƒe aklamakpakpɛwo, eye magbã legba siwo mieli ɖe miaƒe mawuwo ƒe gbedoxɔ me. Maɖe yɔdo na mi, elabena mieganyo na naneke o.”
15 Lo! upon the mountains, The feet of one, who bringeth Good Tidings! who publisheth Prosperity! Celebrate, O Judah, thy pilgrim festivals, fulfil thy vows, for, not again, any more, shall the Abandoned One, pass through thee, he hath been wholly cut off.
Kpɔ ɖa, dɔlawo tso towo dzi gbɔna kple nya nyui, eye wole gbeƒã ɖem ŋutifafa! O Yuda, ɖu wò ŋkekenyuiwo, eye nàxe wò adzɔgbeɖefewo. Ame vɔ̃ɖiwo magava aha wò azɔ o, elabena woatsrɔ̃ wo keŋkeŋ.
