Matthew 23
1 Then, Jesus spake unto the multitudes and unto his disciples,
Shakapanu Yesu kaligambira lipinga lya wantu pamuhera na wafundwa wakuwi,
2 saying—Upon Moses’ seat, have sat down, the Scribes and the Pharisees:
“Wafunda wa Malagaliru na Mafalisayu wanauwezu wa kutakulira Malagaliru ga Musa.
3 All things, therefore, whatsoever they tell you, do and observe, —but, according to their works, do ye not, for they, say, and do not, perform.
Su mfiruwa kujimila na kutenda shoseri shawawagambireni, kumbiti namtenda vyawawatenda weni, toziya watenda ndiri vilii vyawafunda.
4 But they bind together heavy burdens, and lay upon men’s shoulders, whereas, they, with their finger, are not willing to move them.
Watawa visanka vitopa na kuwatwika wantu, kumbiti weni wasinda ata kutalipisiya shala wapati kupapa.
5 But, all their works, they do, to be gazed at, by men, —for they make broad their amulets, and make large their fringes,
Womberi wankutenda matendu gawu goseri su wantu wagawoni, wankuvala tepi zilembwa malagaliru kusheni kwawu na mumawoku na wongera mishirashira mumahabiti gawu.
6 And dearly love the first couch in the chief meals, and the first seats in the synagogues,
Wafira kulikala pahala paligoya mumsambu na kulikala viti vya ligoya munumba ya Mlungu.
7 And the salutations in the market-places, and to be called by men, Rabbi.
Wafira wawalamsiyi kwa ligoya pahala pa soku na wafira wantu wawashemi, ‘Mfunda.’
8 But, ye, —do not be called Rabbi, —for, one, is your Teacher, and, all ye, are brethren;
Kumbiti mwenga namshemwa ‘mfunda,’ toziya mfunda gwenu yumu hera, na woseri mwenga mwawalongu.
9 And, father, be none of you called, upon the earth, for, one, is your Father, the Heavenly;
Ama namumshema muntu yoseri ‘Tati’ pasipanu, toziya mwana Tati yumu hera kumpindi.
10 Neither be called leaders, for, your leader, is one, the Christ;
Namshemwa ‘Walonguziya,’ toziya mwana mlonguziya yumu hera ndo Kristu Mlopoziya.
11 And, the greatest of you, shall be to you, a minister;
Yakawera mkulu pakati penu mpaka kaweri ntumintumi gwenu.
12 And, whoever shall exalt himself, shall be, abased, and, whoever shall abase himself, shall be, exalted,
Yakalikwisa hawamsulusiyi na yakalisulusiya mweni, hakakwiswi.”
13 But alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because ye are locking up the kingdom of the heavens before men, —for, ye, are not entering, neither, them who are entering, suffer ye to enter.
“Shondi wafunda wa Malagaliru na Mafalisayu, mwawafyangu mwenga! Mwankutata mlyangu gwa Ufalumi wa kumpindi palaa wantu pawafiriti kwingira, kumbiti maweni mwenga mwingira ndiri na muwajimira ndiri wantu yawajera kwingira.
Shondi wafunda wa Malagaliru na Mafalisayu, mwawafyangu mwenga! Mwankuwayonga wakenja nakuwapoka numba zawu na mwankulilanguziya kusali sala ntali! Toziya ya hangu hampati azabu nkulu nentu!” Malembu gamonga gahera musitari agu.
15 Alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites: because ye compass sea and dry land, to make one convert—and, when it is done, ye make him a son of gehenna, twofold more than ye. (Geenna g1067)
“Shondi wafunda wa Malagaliru na Mafalisayu, mwawafyangu mwenga! Mwankugenda mwanja mulitanda na paisi su mpati muntu yumu yakajimira ntambu yamjimira. Pamumpata, mumtenda mala mbili kaweri muntu gwa kugenda mumotu gwa jehanamu kuliku maweni mwenga.” (Geenna g1067)
16 Alas for you, blind guides! that say—Whosoever shall swear by the Temple, it is, nothing, but, whosoever shall swear by the gold of the Temple, is bound:
Shondi walongoziya mwana lwisi! Mwenga mfunda muntu pakalilapira kwa Numba nkulu ya Mlungu, kulilapira aku shintu ndiri, kumbiti pakalirapa kwa zahabu Mnumba nkulu ya Mlungu, kulirapira aku kumkola.
17 Foolish and blind! for which is, greater, The gold, or the Temple that hath hallowed the gold?
Mwenga mwanalwisi wazigizigi! Shoshi shana mana nentu, zahabu ama Numba nkulu ya Mlungu yayitenda zahabu iweri nanagala?
18 And, whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is, nothing, but, whosoever shall swear by the gift that is upon it, is bound:
Kayi mfunda, muntu pakalirapira pashitalawanda sha kutambikira, shintu ndiri, kumbiti pakalirapira kwa lifupu lyawalituliti pashitalawanda sha kutambikira, kulirapa aku hakumkoli.
19 Blind! for which is greater, The gift, or the altar that halloweth the gift?
Mwenga mwawa lwisi! Shoshi sha mana nentu, lifupu lilii, ama pashitalawanda sha kutambikira peni patendaga lifupu liweri linanagala?
20 He therefore that hath sworn by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all that is upon it;
Muntu yakalilapira kwa pashitalawanda sha kutambikira kalirapa kwa pahala pa kutambikira na mafupu goseri gawatuliti pahala pa kutambikira.
21 And, he that hath sworn by the Temple, sweareth by it, and by him who dwelleth therein;
Na yakalirapira kwa Numba nkulu ya Mlungu, kalilapira kwa Numba nkulu ya Mlungu na Mlungu yakalikala amu,
22 And, he that hath sworn by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him who sitteth thereupon.
na yoseri yakalirapira kumpindi kwa Mlungu, su kalilapira kwa shibanta sha shifalumi sha Mlungu na kwa Mlungu yakalivagira.
23 Alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because ye tithe the mint and the anise and the cummin, —and have dismissed the weightier matters of the law—the justice, the mercy, and the faith; whereas, these, it was binding, to do, and, those, not to, dismiss.
“Shondi wafunda wa Malagaliru na Mafalisayu, mwawafyangu mwenga! Mwankuwatoza wantu shintu shimu muvintu lilongu, ata kuusu viungu vya likolu gambira mahamba ganunkira weri na binzari na jira na kumbiti mleka kujimira mafundu ga mana ga Malagaliru, gambira vitendu viheri na lusungu na njimiru. Vitwatila avi vya mana ndo mfiruwa kuvitenda pota na kulyaluwa vyamonga.
24 Blind guides! Straining out the gnat, but, the camel, swallowing.
Mwenga walongoziya mwana lwisi! Mwankulaviya wavingozi mu vyakulanda, kumbiti mwankumira shingongolu yawamshema ntembu!
25 Alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because ye cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, —while, within, they are full of plunder and intemperance.
“Shondi wafunda wa Malagaliru na Mafalisayu, mwawafyangu mwenga! Mwankugulula shikombi na bakuli kwa kunja, kumbiti mngati kumema vintu vyampatiti kwa wakwepula na malema.
26 Blind Pharisee! cleanse, first, the inside, of the cup [and of the dish], that, the outside thereof, may become, clean.
Mfalisayu lwisi! Gugulula uhakata huti yawuwera mushikombi na kunja hakuweri kuherepa viraa.
27 Alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because ye make yourselves like sepulchres whitewashed, which, outside, indeed, appear, beautiful, but, within, are full, of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness, —
“Shondi wafunda wa Malagaliru na Mafalisayu, wafyangu mwenga! Muwera gambira mapumba gawatyelemekiti shokaa ndo yeni kwa kunja gawonikana gaherepa, kumbiti mngati imema mifupa ya mawuti na kila ntambu ya kudoda.
28 Thus, ye also, outside, indeed, appear to men, righteous, but, within, are full, of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
Viraa virii kwa kunja mwenga muwoneka mwawaheri, kumbiti mumyoyu mwenu kumema ufyangu na udoda.
29 Alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and adorn the monuments of the righteous,
“Shondi wafunda wa Malagaliru na Mafalisayu, mwawafyangu mwenga! Mwankunyawira mapumba ga wambuyi wa Mlungu na kugalembera mapumba ga wantu waheri,
30 and say—If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been their partners in the blood of the prophets:
na mlonga, ‘Handa twenga metulikali shipindi sha wagogolu wetu metulitangiti ndiri nawomberi kuwalaga wambuyi wa Mlungu!’
31 So that ye bear witness against yourselves, that ye are, sons, of them who murdered the prophets.
Su mpitaulira kuwera maweni mwenga ndo wiwuka wawu woseri yawawalagiti wambuyi wa Mlungu!
32 And, ye, fill ye up the measure of your fathers!
Su, mumalili shilii shawanjiti wagogolu wenu!
Mwenga wanjoka na wana wa wanjoka! Mwenga namulihola kuwera muweza kukwepa kutozwa kwingira mumotu gwa Jehanamu. (Geenna g1067)
34 For this cause, lo! I, send unto you, prophets and wise men and scribes, —some from among them, ye will slay and crucify, And some from among them ye will—scourge in your synagogues, and pursue from city to city:
Su neni nuwagambirani kuwera hanuwajegeri mwenga wambuyi wa Mlungu. Na wantu wana luhala na wafunda wa Malagaliru ga Musa, hamuwalagi wamu wawu na kuwapingika wamonga na kuwasyatanga ntomondu wamonga munumba za Mlungu na kuwawinga kulawa lushi na lushi.
35 That there may come upon you—all righteous blood poured out upon the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous, unto the blood of Zachariah, son of Barachiah, whom ye murdered between the Temple and the altar.
Vilawilu vya kutoza kwa kuwalaga wantu woseri waheri haiweri kwa mwenga, kwanjira kulagwa kwa Abeli muntu muheri mpaka kulagwa kwa Zakariya mwana gwa Barakiya, Zakariya ndo mweni yamumlagiti pakati pa Numba nkulu ya Mlungu na pashitalawanda sha kutambikira.
36 Verily, I say unto you—All these things, will have come, upon this generation.
Nakaka nuwagambireni, kutozwa kwa wantu woseri yawawalaga wayawu hakuweri kwa shiyiwuku sha mashaka aga!
37 Jerusalem! Jerusalem! that slayeth the prophets, and stoneth them that have been sent unto her, —how often, would I have gathered thy children, like as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, —and ye would not!
“Yerusalemu! Shondi shondi Yerusalemu bamu! Guwalaga wambuyi wa Mlungu, guwagumanga kwa mabuwi walii yawatumitwi kwakuwi! Vipindi vivuwa nfira kuwatula wana waku mumawoku mwangu gambira nkuku pakavigupika vyana vyakuwi kwa mbapatiru zyakuwi, kumbiti gwenga gunema!
38 Lo! your house is left to you;
Su, Numba nkulu ya Mlungu yaku hailekwi ushiwa.
39 For I say unto you—in no wise, may ye see me, henceforth, until ye say, Blessed, is he that cometh, in the name of the Lord!
Nukugambirani kwanjira vinu, hapeni gumoni kayi mpaka pagutakula, ‘Mlungu gumtekeleri yomberi yakiza mulitawu lya Mtuwa.’”
