Matthew 13
1 On that day, Jesus, going out of the house, was sitting near the sea:
Más tarde, ese día, Jesús se fue de la casa y se sentó a enseñar junto al lago.
2 and there were gathered unto him, large multitudes, so that, he, into a boat, entered, and was sitting, and, all the multitude, on the beach was standing.
Pero se reunieron a su alrededor tantas personas, que tuvo que subirse a una barca y allí se sentó a enseñar, mientras que todas las multitudes se quedaron de pie en la playa.
3 And he spake unto them many things, in parables, saying: Lo! the sower went forth to sow, —
Él les enseñaba muchas cosas, usando relatos para ilustrarlas. “El sembrador salió a sembrar”, comenzó a decir.
4 and, as he sowed, some, indeed, fell by the pathway, and, the birds, came, and devoured it;
“Mientras sembraba, algunas de las semillas cayeron por el camino. Entonces las aves vinieron y se las comieron.
5 And, some, fell on the rocky places, where it had not much earth, —and, straightway, it sprang up, because if had no depth of earth;
Otras semillas cayeron en suelo rocoso y porque no habia mucha tierra, germinaron pronto”.
6 and, the sun arising, it was scorched, and, because it had no root, it withered away;
El sol salió y las chamuscó y se murieron porque no tenían raíces.
7 And, some, fell upon the thorns, and the thorns came up, and choked it;
Otras semillas cayeron entre espinos que crecieron y las sofocaron.
8 But, some, fell upon the good ground, and did yield fruit, —this, indeed a hundred fold, and, that, sixty, and, the other, thirty.
No obstante, otras semillas cayeron en buen suelo. Esas semillas produjeron una cosecha—algunas cien, otras sesenta, y otras treinta veces lo que se había plantado.
9 He that hath ears, let him hear.
¡Todo el que tenga oídos, escuche!
10 And the disciples, coming near, said to him, Wherefore, in parables, art thou speaking to them?
Los discípulos vinieron a Jesús y le preguntaron, “¿Por qué usas ilustraciones cuando hablas a la gente?”
11 And, he, answering, said, Because, unto you, hath it been given, to get to know the sacred secrets of the kingdom of the heavens, —whereas, unto them, hath it not been given.
“Ustedes son privilegiados porque a ustedes se les han revelado los misterios del reino de los cielos, pero ellos no tienen ese conocimiento”, respondió Jesús.
12 For, whosoever hath, it shall be given, to him, and he shall be made to abound, —but, whoever hath not, even what he hath, shall be taken from him?
“Aquellos que ya tienen recibirán más, más que suficiente. Pero aquellos que no tienen, lo que lleguen a tener se les quitará.
13 For this reason, in parables, unto them, do I speak, —because, seeing, they see not, and, hearing, they hear not, —neither do they understand.
Esa es la razón por la que les hablo a ellos a través de ilustraciones. Porque aunque ellos pueden ver, no ven; y aunque pueden oír, no oyen; ni entienden tampoco.
14 And, again is being fulfilled in them, the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, —They shall, surely hear, and yet will not understand, and, surely see, and yet not perceive;
“La profecía de Isaías se cumple en ellos: ‘aunque ustedes oigan, no entenderán, y aunque vean, no percibirán.
15 For the heart of this people hath become dense, and, with their ears, heavily have they heard, and, their eyes, have they closed, —lest, once they should see with their eyes, and, with their ears, should hear, and, with their hearts, should understand, and return; when I would certainly heal them.
Ellos tienen un corazón duro, no quieren escuchar y han cerrado sus ojos. Si no fuera así, entonces podrían ver con sus ojos, oír con sus oídos y entender con sus mentes. Entonces podrían regresar a mí y yo los sanaría’.
16 But happy are, your, eyes, that they see, and your ears, that they hear;
“Benditos los ojos de ustedes, porque pueden ver. También sus oídos, porque pueden oír.
17 For, verily, I say unto you—Many prophets and righteous men, have coveted to see what ye see, and have not seen, and to hear what ye hear, and have not heard.
Les digo que muchos profetas y personas buenas anhelaron ver lo que ustedes están viendo ahora, pero no lo vieron. Ellos anhelaban escuchar lo que ustedes están escuchando, pero no lo escucharon.
18 Hear, ye, then, the parable of him that sowed: —
“Así que escuchen el relato del sembrador:
19 When anyone heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, the wicked one cometh, and catcheth up that which hath been sown in his heart, —this, is he, by the pathway, sown.
Cuando las personas oyen el mensaje del reino, y no lo entienden, el maligno viene y arranca lo que fue sembrado en sus corazones. Esto es lo que ocurre con las semillas que cayeron en el camino.
20 And, he on the rocky places sown, the same, is he that, heareth the word, and, straightway, with joy, receiveth it;
Las semillas sembradas en el suelo rocoso son las personas que escuchan el mensaje e inmediatamente lo aceptan con alegría.
21 yet hath he no root in himself, but is, only for a season, —and, there arising, tribulation or persecution because of the word, straightway, he findeth cause of stumbling.
De esta manera permanecen por un tiempo, pero como no tienen raíces, cuando los problemas llegan, se apartan rápidamente.
22 And, he among the thorns sown, the same, is he that, heareth the word, —and, the anxiety of the age and the deceit of riches, choke up the word, and, unfruitful, it becometh. (aiōn g165)
Las semillas que fueron sembradas entre los espinos son las personas que escuchan el mensaje, pero luego las preocupaciones de la vida y la tentación por el dinero ahogan el mensaje y éste no produce fruto. (aiōn g165)
23 But, he on the good ground sown, the same, is he who doth hear and understand the word, who, indeed, beareth fruit and produceth, —this, a hundred, and, that, sixty, and, the other, thirty.
Las semillas sembradas en buen suelo son las personas que escuchan el mensaje, lo entienden, y producen buena cosecha—algunos cien, otros sesenta, y otros treinta veces lo que fue sembrado”.
24 Another parable, put he before them, saying—The kingdom of the heavens hath become like a man sowing good seed in his field;
Entonces les contó otro relato ilustrado: “El reino de los cielos es como un granjero que sembró buena semilla en su campo.
25 and, while men were sleeping, his enemy came, and sowed over darnel, in among the wheat, —and away he went.
Pero mientras sus trabajadores dormían, llegó un enemigo y sembró maleza encima del trigo. Y se fueron.
26 And, when the blade shot up, and brought forth, fruit, then, appeared, the darnel also.
Cuando el trigo creció y produjo espigas, la maleza también creció.
27 And the servants of the householder, coming near, said to him, —Sir! was it not, good seed, thou didst sow in thy field? Whence then hath it, darnel?
Los trabajadores del granjero vinieron a preguntarle: ‘Señor, ¿acaso no sembraste buena semilla en tu campo? ¿De dónde salió esta maleza?’
28 And he said unto them—An enemy, hath, done this. And they say, unto him—Wilt thou, then, that we go and collect it?
“‘Algún enemigo hizo esto’, respondió él. ‘¿Quieres que vayamos y arranquemos la maleza?’ le preguntaron.
29 And, he, saith—Nay! lest, at any time, while collecting the darnel, ye uproot, along with it, the wheat:
‘No,’ respondió él, ‘al arrancar la maleza podrían arrancar de raíz el trigo también.
30 Suffer both to grow together until the harvest, and at, harvest time, I will say unto the reapers, —Collect ye first, the darnel, and bind it into bundles, with a view to the burning it up; but, the wheat, be gathering it into my barn.
Dejen que crezcan juntos hasta la cosecha, y entonces le diré a los segadores: reúnan primero la maleza, átenla en bultos y quémenlos. Luego reúnan el trigo y almacénenlo en mi granero’”.
31 Another parable, put he before them, saying—The kingdom of the heavens is like unto, a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field;
Les dio otra ilustración: “El reino de los cielos es como una semilla de mostaza que sembró un granjero en su campo.
32 which, indeed, is, less, than all seeds, but, when grown, is greater than garden-plants, and becometh a tree, —so that the birds of heaven come, and lodge among its branches.
Aunque es la semilla más pequeña de todas, ésta crece y llega a ser mucho más grande que las otras plantas. De hecho, se convierte en un árbol tan grande, que las aves pueden posarse en sus ramas”.
33 Another parable, [spake he unto them]: —The kingdom of the heavens is like, unto leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour until, the whole, was leavened.
Y les contó otro relato ilustrado: “El reino de los cielos es como la levadura que una mujer mezcló con una gran cantidad de harina, hasta que toda la masa creció”.
34 All these things, spake Jesus in parables, unto the multitudes, and, without a parable, was he speaking, nothing, unto them:
Y Jesús le enseñaba todas estas cosas a las multitudes por medio de relatos ilustrados—de hecho, él no les hablaba sin usar relatos.
35 that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken through the prophet, saying—I will open, in parables, my mouth, I will bring up things hidden from the foundation!
Esto cumplía las palabras del profeta: “Hablaré por medio de relatos, y enseñaré cosas ocultas desde la creación del mundo”.
36 Then, dismissing the multitudes, he went into the house, and his disciples came near to him, saying—Make quite plain to us the parable of the darnel of the field.
Jesús se fue de donde estaba la multitude a una casa. Sus discípulos vinieron donde él estaba y le dijeron: “Por favor, explícanos el relato de la maleza en el campo”.
37 And, he, answering, said—He that soweth the good seed, is the Son of Man;
“El que siembra la buena semilla es el Hijo del hombre”, les explicó Jesús.
38 And, the field, is the world, and, the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom, —and, the darnel seeds, are the sons of the evil one;
“El campo es el mundo. Las semillas buenas son los hijos del reino. Las semillas de maleza son los hijos del maligno.
39 And, the enemy that sowed them, is the adversary, and, the harvest, is, the conclusion of an age, and, the reapers, are, messengers. (aiōn g165)
El enemigo que sembró las semillas de maleza es el diablo. La cosecha es el fin del mundo. Los segadores son ángeles. (aiōn g165)
40 Just, therefore, as collected is the darnel, and, with fire is burned, so, will it be in the conclusion of the age: — (aiōn g165)
Así como la maleza se recoge y se quema, así será en el fin del mundo. (aiōn g165)
41 The Son of Man will send forth his messengers, and they will collect, out of his kingdom, all the causes of stumbling, and the doers of lawlessness,
El Hijo del hombre enviará ángeles, y ellos recogerán todo lo que es pecaminoso y a todos los que hacen el mal,
42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire: there, will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
y los lanzarán en el horno abrasador, donde habrá llanto y crujir de dientes.
43 Then, the righteous, will shine forth as the sun, in the kingdom of their Father. He that hath ears, let him hear!
Entonces aquellos que viven justamente brillarán como el sol en el reino de su padre. ¡Todo el que tiene oídos, oiga!
44 The kingdom of the heavens is like unto, a treasure hid in the field, which a man, finding, hid, —and, by reason of his joy, withdraweth and selleth whatsoever he hath, and buyeth that field.
“El reino de los cielos es como un tesoro escondido en un campo. Un hombre lo encontró, lo volvió a enterrar, y lleno de alegría se fue y vendió todo lo que tenía y entonces compró ese campo.
45 Again, the kingdom of the heavens is, like, unto, a merchant, seeking beautiful pearls, —
El reino de los cielos es también como un mercader que busca perlas preciosas.
46 and, finding one very precious pearl, departing, he at once sold all things, whatsoever he had, and bought it.
Cuando encontró la perla más costosa que alguna vez conociera, se fue y vendió todo lo que tenía y la compró.
47 Again, the kingdom of the heavens is like unto, a large drag-net, cast into the sea and gathering of every kind, —
Una vez más, el reino de los cielos es como una red de pescar que fue lanzada al mar y atrapó todo tipo de peces.
48 which, when it was filled, they dragged up on the beach, and, sitting down, collected the good into vessels, but, the worthless, forth they cast.
Cuando estaba llena, fue sacada a la orilla. Los buenos peces fueron colocados en las canastas, mientras que los malos peces fueron echados a la basura.
49 So, will it be in the conclusion of the age: The messengers will come forth, and separate the wicked from among the righteous; (aiōn g165)
“Así serán las cosas cuando llegue el fin del mundo. Los ángeles saldrán y separarán a las personas malas de las personas buenas, (aiōn g165)
50 and will cast them into the furnace of fire: there, will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
y las lanzarán en el horno abrasador, donde habrá llanto y crujir de dientes.
51 Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea!
“¿Ahora lo entienden todo?” “Sí”, respondieron ellos.
52 And, he, said unto them—Wherefore, every scribe, discipled unto the kingdom of the heavens, is like unto a householder, who putteth forth out of his treasure, things new and old.
“Todo maestro religioso que haya aprendido acerca del reino de los cielos es como el propietario de una casa que saca de su despensa tesoros nuevos y viejos”, respondió Jesús.
53 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these parables, he removed from thence;
Después que Jesús terminó de contar estos relatos, se fue de allí.
54 and, coming into his own city, began teaching them in their synagogue, so that with astonishment were they being struck, and were saying—Whence, hath, this one, this wisdom, and the mighty works?
Entonces regresó a la ciudad donde se había criado y allí enseñaba en la sinagoga. Las personas estaban asombradas, y preguntaban: “¿De dónde obtiene su sabiduría y sus milagros?
55 Is not, this one, the carpenter’s, son? Is not, his mother, called Mary, and are not his brethren—James and Joseph, and Simon, and Judas?
¿No es este el hijo del carpintero? ¿No es este el hijo de María, y hermano de Santiago, José, Simón y Judas?
56 and, his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence, then hath, this one, all these things?
¿No viven sus hermanas entre nosotros? ¿De dónde, entonces recibe todo esto?”
57 And they began to find cause of stumbling in him. But, Jesus, said unto them—A prophet is not without honour, save in his city, and in his house.
Y por esta razón se negaban a creer en él. “Un profeta es honrado en todas partes, excepto en su propia tierra y entre su familia”, les dijo Jesús.
58 And he did not, there, many mighty works, because of their unbelief.
Como ellos no lograron creer en él, Jesús no hizo muchos milagros allí.
