Matthew 12
1 In that season, went Jesus, on, the sabbath, through the cornfields, —and, his disciples, hungered, and began to pluck ears of corn, and to eat.
අනන්තරං යීශු ර්විශ්‍රාමවාරේ ශ්ස්‍යමධ්‍යේන ගච්ඡති, තදා තච්ඡිෂ්‍යා බුභුක්‍ෂිතාඃ සන්තඃ ශ්ස්‍යමඤ්ජරීශ්ඡත්වා ඡිත්වා ඛාදිතුමාරභන්ත|
2 But, the Pharisees, observing it, said unto him, Lo! thy disciples, are doing what is not allowed to do, on sabbath.
තද් විලෝක්‍ය ඵිරූශිනෝ යීශුං ජගදුඃ, පශ්‍ය විශ්‍රාමවාරේ යත් කර්ම්මාකර්ත්තව්‍යං තදේව තව ශිෂ්‍යාඃ කුර්ව්වන්ති|
3 And he said unto them, have ye never read what, David, did, when he hungered, and they who were with him? how
ස තාන් ප්‍රත්‍යාවදත, දායූද් තත්සඞ්ගිනශ්ච බුභුක්‍ෂිතාඃ සන්තෝ යත් කර්ම්මාකුර්ව්වන් තත් කිං යුෂ්මාභි ර්නාපාඨි?
4 he entered into the house of God and, the presence-bread, did eat, which it was not, allowable, for him to eat, nor for them who were with him, —save for the priests, alone?
යේ දර්ශනීයාඃ පූපාඃ යාජකාන් විනා තස්‍ය තත්සඞ්ගිමනුජානාඤ්චාභෝජනීයාස්ත ඊශ්වරාවාසං ප්‍රවිෂ්ටේන තේන භුක්තාඃ|
5 Or have ye not read, in the law, that, on the sabbaths, the priests, in the temple, the sabbath, profane, and are, blameless?
අන්‍යච්ච විශ්‍රාමවාරේ මධ්‍යේමන්දිරං විශ්‍රාමවාරීයං නියමං ලඞ්වන්තෝපි යාජකා නිර්දෝෂා භවන්ති, ශාස්ත්‍රමධ්‍යේ කිමිදමපි යුෂ්මාභි ර්න පඨිතං?
6 But I say unto you, —Something greater than the Temple, is here!
යුෂ්මානහං වදාමි, අත්‍ර ස්ථානේ මන්දිරාදපි ගරීයාන් ඒක ආස්තේ|
7 If, however, ye had known what this meaneth—Mercy, I desire, and not, sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the blameless;
කින්තු දයායාං මේ යථා ප්‍රීති ර්න තථා යඥකර්ම්මණි| ඒතද්වචනස්‍යාර්ථං යදි යුයම් අඥාසිෂ්ට තර්හි නිර්දෝෂාන් දෝෂිණෝ නාකාර්ෂ්ට|
8 For, the Son of Man, is, Lord of the Sabbath.
අන්‍යච්ච මනුජසුතෝ විශ්‍රාමවාරස්‍යාපි පතිරාස්තේ|
9 And, passing on from thence, he came into their synagogue;
අනන්තරං ස තත්ස්ථානාත් ප්‍රස්ථාය තේෂාං භජනභවනං ප්‍රවිෂ්ටවාන්, තදානීම් ඒකඃ ශුෂ්කකරාමයවාන් උපස්ථිතවාන්|
10 and lo! a man having, a withered hand, and they questioned him, saying, Is it allowable, on the sabbath, to heal? that they might accuse him.
තතෝ යීශුම් අපවදිතුං මානුෂාඃ පප්‍රච්ඡුඃ, විශ්‍රාමවාරේ නිරාමයත්වං කරණීයං න වා?
11 And said unto them, What man, from among yourselves, [shall there be], —Who shall have one sheep, and, if this should fall, on the sabbath, into a pit, will not lay hold of it, and raise it?
තේන ස ප්‍රත්‍යුවාච, විශ්‍රාමවාරේ යදි කස්‍යචිද් අවි ර්ගර්ත්තේ පතති, තර්හි යස්තං ඝෘත්වා න තෝලයති, ඒතාදෘශෝ මනුජෝ යුෂ්මාකං මධ්‍යේ ක ආස්තේ?
12 How much better, then, a man, than, a sheep? So that it is allowable, on the sabbath, nobly, to act.
අවේ ර්මානවඃ කිං නහි ශ්‍රේයාන්? අතෝ විශ්‍රාමවාරේ හිතකර්ම්ම කර්ත්තව්‍යං|
13 Then saith he unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand! And he stretched it forth, —and it was restored, whole, as the other.
අනන්තරං ස තං මානවං ගදිතවාන්, කරං ප්‍රසාරය; තේන කරේ ප්‍රසාරිතේ සෝන්‍යකරවත් ස්වස්ථෝ(අ)භවත්|
14 And the Pharisees, going forth, took, counsel, against him, to the end that, him, they might destroy.
තදා ඵිරූශිනෝ බහිර්භූය කථං තං හනිෂ්‍යාම ඉති කුමන්ත්‍රණාං තත්ප්‍රාතිකූල්‍යේන චක්‍රුඃ|
15 But, Jesus, taking note, retired from thence, —and many followed him, and he cured them all;
තතෝ යීශුස්තද් විදිත්වා ස්ථනාන්තරං ගතවාන්; අන්‍යේෂු බහුනරේෂු තත්පශ්චාද් ගතේෂු තාන් ස නිරාමයාන් කෘත්වා ඉත්‍යාඥාපයත්,
16 and straitly charged them, lest they should make him, manifest:
යූයං මාං න පරිචායයත|
17 that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: —
තස්මාත් මම ප්‍රීයෝ මනෝනීතෝ මනසස්තුෂ්ටිකාරකඃ| මදීයඃ සේවකෝ යස්තු විද්‍යතේ තං සමීක්‍ෂතාං| තස්‍යෝපරි ස්වකීයාත්මා මයා සංස්ථාපයිෂ්‍යතේ| තේනාන්‍යදේශජාතේෂු ව්‍යවස්ථා සංප්‍රකාශ්‍යතේ|
18 Lo! my servant, whom I have chosen, My beloved, in whom, my soul, delighteth, —I will put my Spirit upon him, and, justice, unto the nations, will he report:
කේනාපි න විරෝධං ස විවාදඤ්ච කරිෂ්‍යති| න ච රාජපථේ තේන වචනං ශ්‍රාවයිෂ්‍යතේ|
19 He will not strive, nor will he cry out, nor shall any hear, in the broadways, his voice:
ව්‍යවස්ථා චලිතා යාවත් නහි තේන කරිෂ්‍යතේ| තාවත් නලෝ විදීර්ණෝ(අ)පි භංක්‍ෂ්‍යතේ නහි තේන ච| තථා සධූමවර්ත්තිඤ්ච න ස නිර්ව්වාපයිෂ්‍යතේ|
20 A bruised cane, will he not break, and, a smoking wick, will he not quench, —until he urge on, justice, to victory,
ප්‍රත්‍යාශාඤ්ච කරිෂ්‍යන්ති තන්නාම්නි භින්නදේශජාඃ|
21 And, in his name, shall nations hope.
යාන්‍යේතානි වචනානි යිශයියභවිෂ්‍යද්වාදිනා ප්‍රෝක්තාන්‍යාසන්, තානි සඵලාන්‍යභවන්|
22 Then they brought unto him, one demonized, blind and dumb, —and he cured him, so that the dumb did speak and see.
අනන්තරං ලෝකෛ ස්තත්සමීපම් ආනීතෝ භූතග්‍රස්තාන්ධමූකෛකමනුජස්තේන ස්වස්ථීකෘතඃ, තතඃ සෝ(අ)න්ධෝ මූකෝ ද්‍රෂ්ටුං වක්තුඤ්චාරබ්ධවාන්|
23 And all the multitudes were beside themselves, and were saying, Can, this one, be, the Son of David?
අනේන සර්ව්වේ විස්මිතාඃ කථයාඤ්චක්‍රුඃ, ඒෂඃ කිං දායූදඃ සන්තානෝ නහි?
24 But, the Pharisees, hearing it, said, This one, doth not cast out the demons, save in Beelzebul ruler of the demons.
කින්තු ඵිරූශිනස්තත් ශ්‍රුත්වා ගදිතවන්තඃ, බාල්සිබූබ්නාම්නෝ භූතරාජස්‍ය සාහාය්‍යං විනා නායං භූතාන් ත්‍යාජයති|
25 And, knowing their inward thoughts, he said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself, is laid waste, —and, no city or house divided against itself, will stand;
තදානීං යීශුස්තේෂාම් ඉති මානසං විඥාය තාන් අවදත් කිඤ්චන රාජ්‍යං යදි ස්වවිපක්‍ෂාද් භිද්‍යතේ, තර්හි තත් උච්ඡිද්‍යතේ; යච්ච කිඤ්චන නගරං වා ගෘහං ස්වවිපක්‍ෂාද් විභිද්‍යතේ, තත් ස්ථාතුං න ශක්නෝති|
26 And, if, Satan, is casting, Satan, out, against himself, hath he become divided, —How then shall, his kingdom, stand?
තද්වත් ශයතානෝ යදි ශයතානං බහිඃ කෘත්වා ස්වවිපක්‍ෂාත් පෘථක් පෘථක් භවති, තර්හි තස්‍ය රාජ්‍යං කේන ප්‍රකාරේණ ස්ථාස්‍යති?
27 And, if, I, in Beelzebul, am casting out the demons, In whom are, your sons, casting them out? Wherefore, they, shall be, judges of you.
අහඤ්ච යදි බාල්සිබූබා භූතාන් ත්‍යාජයාමි, තර්හි යුෂ්මාකං සන්තානාඃ කේන භූතාන් ත්‍යාජයන්ති? තස්මාද් යුෂ්මාකම් ඒතද්විචාරයිතාරස්ත ඒව භවිෂ්‍යන්ති|
28 But, if, in God’s Spirit, I, am casting out the demons, then doubtless hath come upon you unawares, the kingdom of God!
කින්තවහං යදීශ්වරාත්මනා භූතාන් ත්‍යාජයාමි, තර්හීශ්වරස්‍ය රාජ්‍යං යුෂ්මාකං සන්නිධිමාගතවත්|
29 Or how can one enter the house of the mighty and, seize his goods, unless, first, he bind the mighty one? and, then, his house, he will plunder.
අන්‍යඤ්ච කෝපි බලවන්ත ජනං ප්‍රථමතෝ න බද්ව්වා කේන ප්‍රකාරේණ තස්‍ය ගෘහං ප්‍රවිශ්‍ය තද්ද්‍රව්‍යාදි ලෝඨයිතුං ශක්නෝති? කින්තු තත් කෘත්වා තදීයගෘස්‍ය ද්‍රව්‍යාදි ලෝඨයිතුං ශක්නෝති|
30 He that is no with me, is, against me, —and, he that gathereth not with me, scattereth
යඃ කශ්චිත් මම ස්වපක්‍ෂීයෝ නහි ස විපක්‍ෂීය ආස්තේ, යශ්ච මයා සාකං න සංගෘහ්ලාති, ස විකිරති|
31 Wherefore, I say unto you, All sin and profane speaking, shall be forgiven unto men, —but, the speaking profanely of the Spirit, shall not be forgiven;
අතඒව යුෂ්මානහං වදාමි, මනුජානාං සර්ව්වප්‍රකාරපාපානාං නින්දායාශ්ච මර්ෂණං භවිතුං ශක්නෝති, කින්තු පවිත්‍රස්‍යාත්මනෝ විරුද්ධනින්දායා මර්ෂණං භවිතුං න ශක්නෝති|
32 And, whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him, —but, whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age, or the coming. (aiōn g165)
යෝ මනුජසුතස්‍ය විරුද්ධාං කථාං කථයති, තස්‍යාපරාධස්‍ය ක්‍ෂමා භවිතුං ශක්නෝති, කින්තු යඃ කශ්චිත් පවිත්‍රස්‍යාත්මනෝ විරුද්ධාං කථාං කථයති නේහලෝකේ න ප්‍රේත්‍ය තස්‍යාපරාධස්‍ය ක්‍ෂමා භවිතුං ශක්නෝති| (aiōn g165)
33 Either make the tree good, and its fruit good, or make the tree worthless, and its fruit worthless; for, from the fruit, the tree is known.
පාදපං යදි භද්‍රං වදථ, තර්හි තස්‍ය ඵලමපි සාධු වක්තව්‍යං, යදි ච පාදපං අසාධුං වදථ, තර්හි තස්‍ය ඵලමප්‍යසාධු වක්තව්‍යං; යතඃ ස්වීයස්වීයඵලේන පාදපඃ පරිචීයතේ|
34 Broods of vipers! How can ye speak, good things, being, evil? For, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh.
රේ භුජගවංශා යූයමසාධවඃ සන්තඃ කථං සාධු වාක්‍යං වක්තුං ශක්‍ෂ්‍යථ? යස්මාද් අන්තඃකරණස්‍ය පූර්ණභාවානුසාරාද් වදනාද් වචෝ නිර්ගච්ඡති|
35 The good man, out of the good treasure, putteth forth, good things; and, the evil man, out of the evil treasure, putteth forth, evil things.
තේන සාධුර්මානවෝ(අ)න්තඃකරණරූපාත් සාධුභාණ්ඩාගාරාත් සාධු ද්‍රව්‍යං නිර්ගමයති, අසාධුර්මානුෂස්ත්වසාධුභාණ්ඩාගාරාද් අසාධුවස්තූනි නිර්ගමයති|
36 But I say unto you, That, every useless expression that men shall utter, they shall render, concerning it, an account, in a day of judgment;
කින්ත්වහං යුෂ්මාන් වදාමි, මනුජා යාවන්ත්‍යාලස්‍යවචාංසි වදන්ති, විචාරදිනේ තදුත්තරමවශ්‍යං දාතව්‍යං,
37 For, by thy words, shalt thou be, justified, and, by thy words, shalt thou be condemned.
යතස්ත්වං ස්වීයවචෝභි ර්නිරපරාධඃ ස්වීයවචෝභිශ්ච සාපරාධෝ ගණිෂ්‍යසේ|
38 Then, answered him, certain of the Scribes and Pharisees, saying, Teacher! we desire of thee, a sign, to behold.
තදානීං කතිපයා උපාධ්‍යායාඃ ඵිරූශිනශ්ච ජගදුඃ, හේ ගුරෝ වයං භවත්තඃ කිඤ්චන ලක්‍ෂ්ම දිදෘක්‍ෂාමඃ|
39 But, he, answering, said unto them, A wicked and adulterous generation, a sign, doth seek, and, a sign, will not be, given, it, save the sign of Jonah the prophet.
තදා ස ප්‍රත්‍යුක්තවාන්, දුෂ්ටෝ ව්‍යභිචාරී ච වංශෝ ලක්‍ෂ්ම මෘගයතේ, කින්තු භවිෂ්‍යද්වාදිනෝ යූනසෝ ලක්‍ෂ්ම විහායාන්‍යත් කිමපි ලක්‍ෂ්ම තේ න ප්‍රදර්ශයිෂ්‍යන්තේ|
40 For, just as was Jonah in the belly of the sea-monster three days and three nights, so, will be the Son of Man, in the heart of the earth, three days and three nights.
යතෝ යූනම් යථා ත්‍ර‍්‍යහෝරාත්‍රං බෘහන්මීනස්‍ය කුක්‍ෂාවාසීත්, තථා මනුජපුත්‍රෝපි ත්‍ර‍්‍යහෝරාත්‍රං මේදින්‍යා මධ්‍යේ ස්ථාස්‍යති|
41 Men of Nineveh, will rise up in the judgment, with this generation, and will condemn it, —because they repented into the proclamation of Jonah; and lo! something greater than Jonah, here.
අපරං නීනිවීයා මානවා විචාරදින ඒතද්වංශීයානාං ප්‍රතිකූලම් උත්ථාය තාන් දෝෂිණඃ කරිෂ්‍යන්ති, යස්මාත්තේ යූනස උපදේශාත් මනාංසි පරාවර්ත්තයාඤ්චක්‍රිරේ, කින්ත්වත්‍ර යූනසෝපි ගුරුතර ඒක ආස්තේ|
42 The queen of the south, will arise in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it—because she came out of the ends of the earth, to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and lo! something greater than Solomon, here.
පුනශ්ච දක්‍ෂිණදේශීයා රාඥී විචාරදින ඒතද්වංශීයානාං ප්‍රතිකූලමුත්ථාය තාන් දෝෂිණඃ කරිෂ්‍යති යතඃ සා රාඥී සුලේමනෝ විද්‍යායාඃ කථාං ශ්‍රෝතුං මේදින්‍යාඃ සීම්න ආගච්ඡත්, කින්තු සුලේමනෝපි ගුරුතර ඒකෝ ජනෝ(අ)ත්‍ර ආස්තේ|
43 But, when the impure spirit goeth out of the man, it passeth through waterless places, seeking rest, —and findeth it not.
අපරං මනුජාද් බහිර්ගතෝ (අ)පවිත්‍රභූතඃ ශුෂ්කස්ථානේන ගත්වා විශ්‍රාමං ගවේෂයති, කින්තු තදලභමානඃ ස වක්ති, යස්මා; නිකේතනාද් ආගමං, තදේව වේශ්ම පකාවෘත්‍ය යාමි|
44 Then, it saith, Into my house, will I return whence I came out, —and, coming, findeth it empty [and] swept and adorned.
පශ්චාත් ස තත් ස්ථානම් උපස්ථාය තත් ශූන්‍යං මාර්ජ්ජිතං ශෝභිතඤ්ච විලෝක්‍ය ව්‍රජන් ස්වතෝපි දුෂ්ටතරාන් අන්‍යසප්තභූතාන් සඞ්ගිනඃ කරෝති|
45 Then, it goeth, and taketh along with itself, seven diverse spirits, more wicked than itself, —and, entering, abideth there; and, the last state of that man, becometh, worse than the first. So, shall it be, with this, wicked, generation.
තතස්තේ තත් ස්ථානං ප්‍රවිශ්‍ය නිවසන්ති, තේන තස්‍ය මනුජස්‍ය ශේෂදශා පූර්ව්වදශාතෝතීවාශුභා භවති, ඒතේෂාං දුෂ්ටවංශ්‍යානාමපි තථෛව ඝටිෂ්‍යතේ|
46 While yet he was speaking unto the multitudes, lo! his mother and brethren, were standing without, seeking to speak with him.
මානවේභ්‍ය ඒතාසාං කථනාං කථනකාලේ තස්‍ය මාතා සහජාශ්ච තේන සාකං කාඤ්චිත් කථාං කථයිතුං වාඤ්ඡන්තෝ බහිරේව ස්ථිතවන්තඃ|
47 [And one said to him, Lo! thy mother and thy brethren, without, are standing, seeking, to speak, with thee.]
තතඃ කශ්චිත් තස්මෛ කථිතවාන්, පශ්‍ය තව ජනනී සහජාශ්ච ත්වයා සාකං කාඤ්චන කථාං කථයිතුං කාමයමානා බහිස්තිෂ්ඨන්ති|
48 But, he, answering, said unto him that was telling him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
කින්තු ස තං ප්‍රත්‍යවදත්, මම කා ජනනී? කේ වා මම සහජාඃ?
49 And, stretching forth his hand towards his disciples, he said, Lo! my mother and my brethren!
පශ්චාත් ශිෂ්‍යාන් ප්‍රති කරං ප්‍රසාර‍්‍ය්‍ය කථිතවාන්, පශ්‍ය මම ජනනී මම සහජාශ්චෛතේ;
50 For, whosoever shall do the will of my Father who is in the heavens, he, is my, brother, and sister, and mother.
යඃ කශ්චිත් මම ස්වර්ගස්ථස්‍ය පිතුරිෂ්ටං කර්ම්ම කුරුතේ, සඒව මම භ්‍රාතා භගිනී ජනනී ච|
