Matthew 12
1 In that season, went Jesus, on, the sabbath, through the cornfields, —and, his disciples, hungered, and began to pluck ears of corn, and to eat.
Umbes sel ajal kõndis Jeesus hingamispäeval läbi viljapõldude. Tema jüngritel oli kõht tühi, seepärast hakkasid nad viljapäid korjama ja teri sööma.
2 But, the Pharisees, observing it, said unto him, Lo! thy disciples, are doing what is not allowed to do, on sabbath.
Kui variserid seda nägid, ütlesid nad Jeesusele: „Vaata oma jüngreid − nad teevad seda, mida ei ole hingamispäeval lubatud teha!“
3 And he said unto them, have ye never read what, David, did, when he hungered, and they who were with him? how
Aga Jeesus ütles neile: „Kas te ei ole lugenud, mida tegi Taavet, kui temal ja ta meestel oli kõht tühi?
4 he entered into the house of God and, the presence-bread, did eat, which it was not, allowable, for him to eat, nor for them who were with him, —save for the priests, alone?
Ta läks Jumala kotta ning tema ja ta mehed sõid püha leiba, mida ei olnud lubatud kellelgi peale preestrite süüa.
5 Or have ye not read, in the law, that, on the sabbaths, the priests, in the temple, the sabbath, profane, and are, blameless?
Kas te ei ole seadusest lugenud, et hingamispäeval rikkusid preestrid templis hingamispäeva, kuid neid ei peetud süüdlaseks?
6 But I say unto you, —Something greater than the Temple, is here!
Aga mina ütlen teile, et siin on keegi, kes on tähtsam kui tempel!
7 If, however, ye had known what this meaneth—Mercy, I desire, and not, sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the blameless;
Kui te teaksite, mida tähendab Pühakirjas see lõik: „Ma tahan halastust ja mitte ohvrit“, ei oleks te süütut inimest hukkamõistnud.
8 For, the Son of Man, is, Lord of the Sabbath.
Sest inimese Poeg on hingamispäeva Issand.“
9 And, passing on from thence, he came into their synagogue;
Siis Jeesus lahkus ja läks nende sünagoogi.
10 and lo! a man having, a withered hand, and they questioned him, saying, Is it allowable, on the sabbath, to heal? that they might accuse him.
Seal oli üks halvatud käega mees. „Kas seadus lubab hingamispäeval terveks teha?“küsisid nad temalt, otsides põhjust teda süüdistada.
11 And said unto them, What man, from among yourselves, [shall there be], —Who shall have one sheep, and, if this should fall, on the sabbath, into a pit, will not lay hold of it, and raise it?
„Oletame, et sul on lammas ja see kukub hingamispäeval maa sees olevasse auku. Kas sa ei haara temast kinni ega tõmba teda välja?“küsis Jeesus neilt.
12 How much better, then, a man, than, a sheep? So that it is allowable, on the sabbath, nobly, to act.
„Kas te ei arva, et inimene on palju enam väärt kui lammas? Nii et jah, hingamispäeval on lubatud head teha.“
13 Then saith he unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand! And he stretched it forth, —and it was restored, whole, as the other.
Siis ütles ta mehele: „Siruta oma käsi välja!“Mees sirutas käe välja ja see oli terveks saanud, sama terve nagu teine käsi.
14 And the Pharisees, going forth, took, counsel, against him, to the end that, him, they might destroy.
Kuid variserid läksid välja ja sepitsesid plaani, kuidas Jeesust tappa.
15 But, Jesus, taking note, retired from thence, —and many followed him, and he cured them all;
Seda teades Jeesus lahkus ja suur rahvahulk järgnes talle. Ta tegi kõik terveks,
16 and straitly charged them, lest they should make him, manifest:
kuid ütles neile, et nad ei räägiks teistele, kes ta on.
17 that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: —
Nii täitus see, mida prohvet Jesaja ütles:
18 Lo! my servant, whom I have chosen, My beloved, in whom, my soul, delighteth, —I will put my Spirit upon him, and, justice, unto the nations, will he report:
„See on mu sulane, kelle ma valisin, see, keda ma armastan ja kes on mulle meelepärane. Ma panen tema peale oma Vaimu ja ta räägib võõramaalastele, mis on õige.
19 He will not strive, nor will he cry out, nor shall any hear, in the broadways, his voice:
Ta ei vaidle, ta ei hõika valjusti, ja keegi ei kuule tema häält tänavail.
20 A bruised cane, will he not break, and, a smoking wick, will he not quench, —until he urge on, justice, to victory,
Ta ei murra viga saanud pilliroogu katki ega kustuta suitsevat tahti, kuni ta on tõestanud, et tema kohtuotsus on õige,
21 And, in his name, shall nations hope.
ja võõramaalased panevad oma lootuse tema peale.“
22 Then they brought unto him, one demonized, blind and dumb, —and he cured him, so that the dumb did speak and see.
Siis toodi Jeesuse juurde mees, kes oli kurjadest vaimudest vaevatud ning pime ja tumm. Jeesus tegi ta terveks, nii et tumm mees suutis kõneleda ja näha.
23 And all the multitudes were beside themselves, and were saying, Can, this one, be, the Son of David?
Kogu rahvas oli hämmastunud ja küsis: „Kas see võib tõesti olla Taaveti poeg?“
24 But, the Pharisees, hearing it, said, This one, doth not cast out the demons, save in Beelzebul ruler of the demons.
Aga kui variserid sellest kuulsid, vastasid nad: „See mees suudab kurje vaime välja ajada ainult Peltsebuli, kurjade vaimude ülema abil!“
25 And, knowing their inward thoughts, he said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself, is laid waste, —and, no city or house divided against itself, will stand;
Teades, mida nad mõtlevad, ütles Jeesus neile: „Iga kuningriik, mis on seesmiselt jagunenud, hävitatakse. Ei jää püsima ükski linn ega majapidamine, mis on seesmiselt jagunenud.
26 And, if, Satan, is casting, Satan, out, against himself, hath he become divided, —How then shall, his kingdom, stand?
Kui Saatan ajab Saatana välja, siis on ta seesmiselt jagunenud; kuidas saaks tema kuningriik püsida?
27 And, if, I, in Beelzebul, am casting out the demons, In whom are, your sons, casting them out? Wherefore, they, shall be, judges of you.
Kui ma ajan kurje vaime välja Peltsebuli nimel, kelle nimel ajavad siis teie omad kurje vaime välja? Teie enda inimesed tõestavad, et te eksite!
28 But, if, in God’s Spirit, I, am casting out the demons, then doubtless hath come upon you unawares, the kingdom of God!
Aga kui ma ajan kurje vaime välja Jumala Vaimu väega, siis on Jumala riik teie juurde tulnud!
29 Or how can one enter the house of the mighty and, seize his goods, unless, first, he bind the mighty one? and, then, his house, he will plunder.
Kas saab minna tugeva mehe majja ja võtta tema vara, kui sa teda enne kinni ei seo? Kui sa ta kinni seod, siis saad võtta kõik tema majast.
30 He that is no with me, is, against me, —and, he that gathereth not with me, scattereth
Kes ei ole minuga, on minu vastu, ja need, kes ei kogu koos minuga, teevad vastupidist: nad puistavad laiali.
31 Wherefore, I say unto you, All sin and profane speaking, shall be forgiven unto men, —but, the speaking profanely of the Spirit, shall not be forgiven;
Sellepärast ma ütlengi teile, et iga patt ja jumalateotus antakse teile andeks, välja arvatud Vaimu teotamine, mida ei anta andeks.
32 And, whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him, —but, whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age, or the coming. (aiōn g165)
Neile, kes ütlevad midagi inimese Poja vastu, antakse andeks, aga kes ütleb midagi Püha Vaimu vastu, sellele ei anta andeks, ei selles ega järgmises elus. (aiōn g165)
33 Either make the tree good, and its fruit good, or make the tree worthless, and its fruit worthless; for, from the fruit, the tree is known.
Otsustage ära, kas puu on hea ja selle vili on hea või on puu halb ja selle vili on halb, sest puud tuntakse tema viljast.
34 Broods of vipers! How can ye speak, good things, being, evil? For, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh.
Te rästikute sigitis, kuidas saate teie, kes olete kurjad, öelda midagi head? Sest teie suu kõneleb lihtsalt seda, millest mõtlemisega on mõistus hõivatud.
35 The good man, out of the good treasure, putteth forth, good things; and, the evil man, out of the evil treasure, putteth forth, evil things.
Hea inimene toob välja head oma heast tagavarast ja halb inimene toob välja halba oma halvast tagavarast.
36 But I say unto you, That, every useless expression that men shall utter, they shall render, concerning it, an account, in a day of judgment;
Ma ütlen teile, inimesed peavad kohtupäeval aru andma igast hooletust sõnast, mida nad ütlevad.
37 For, by thy words, shalt thou be, justified, and, by thy words, shalt thou be condemned.
Sest see, mida räägid, mõistab sind kas õigeks või süüdi.“
38 Then, answered him, certain of the Scribes and Pharisees, saying, Teacher! we desire of thee, a sign, to behold.
Siis tulid tema juurde mõned vaimulikud õpetajad ja variserid ning ütlesid: „Õpetaja, me tahame, et sa näitaksid meile tunnustähte.“
39 But, he, answering, said unto them, A wicked and adulterous generation, a sign, doth seek, and, a sign, will not be, given, it, save the sign of Jonah the prophet.
„Kurjad inimesed, kes ei usu Jumalat, on need, kes otsivad tunnustähti. Ainus tunnustäht, mis neile antakse, on prohvet Joona tunnustäht, “ütles Jeesus neile.
40 For, just as was Jonah in the belly of the sea-monster three days and three nights, so, will be the Son of Man, in the heart of the earth, three days and three nights.
„Samamoodi nagu Joona oli suure kala kõhus kolm päeva ja kolm ööd, lamab inimese Poeg maa sees kolm päeva ja kolm ööd.
41 Men of Nineveh, will rise up in the judgment, with this generation, and will condemn it, —because they repented into the proclamation of Jonah; and lo! something greater than Jonah, here.
Niineve elanikud tõusevad kohtus koos selle põlvkonnaga esile ja nad mõistavad selle põlvkonna hukka, sest nemad parandasid Joona sõnumi peale meelt, ja nagu näete, on siin keegi, kes on suurem kui Joona!
42 The queen of the south, will arise in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it—because she came out of the ends of the earth, to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and lo! something greater than Solomon, here.
Lõunamaa kuninganna tuuakse kohtu ette koos selle põlvkonnaga ning ta mõistab selle põlvkonna hukka, sest ta tuli maailma otstest kuulama Saalomoni tarkust, ja nagu näete, siin on keegi, kes on suurem kui Saalomon!
43 But, when the impure spirit goeth out of the man, it passeth through waterless places, seeking rest, —and findeth it not.
Kui kuri vaim lahkub kellestki, uitab see mahajäetud paikades, et leida asupaika, ja ta ei leia kohta, kuhu jääda.
44 Then, it saith, Into my house, will I return whence I came out, —and, coming, findeth it empty [and] swept and adorned.
Nii ta siis ütleb: „Ma lähen tagasi sinna, kust ma lahkusin, “ja tagasi tulles leiab ta selle paiga olevat tühja, puhta ja korras.
45 Then, it goeth, and taketh along with itself, seven diverse spirits, more wicked than itself, —and, entering, abideth there; and, the last state of that man, becometh, worse than the first. So, shall it be, with this, wicked, generation.
Siis läheb ta ja toob kaasa seitse endast kurjemat vaimu ning nad tulevad ja hakkavad seal elama. Nii on inimese olukord hullem kui alguses. Nii saab olema selle kurja põlvkonnaga.“
46 While yet he was speaking unto the multitudes, lo! his mother and brethren, were standing without, seeking to speak with him.
Sel ajal kui ta rahvale kõneles, tulid tema ema ja vennad ning seisid väljas, soovides temaga rääkida.
47 [And one said to him, Lo! thy mother and thy brethren, without, are standing, seeking, to speak, with thee.]
Keegi tuli ja ütles talle: „Vaata, su ema ja vennad on väljas ja tahavad sinuga rääkida.“
48 But, he, answering, said unto him that was telling him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
„Kes on mu ema? Kes on mu vennad?“küsis Jeesus.
49 And, stretching forth his hand towards his disciples, he said, Lo! my mother and my brethren!
Ta osutas oma jüngrite suunas ja ütles: „Vaadake, nemad on mu ema ja mu vennad!
50 For, whosoever shall do the will of my Father who is in the heavens, he, is my, brother, and sister, and mother.
Sest see, kes täidab mu taevase Isa tahet, on mu vend, õde ja ema!“
