Mark 9
1 And he was saying to them: Verily, say unto you—There, are, certain of those here standing, who shall in nowise taste of death, until they see the kingdom of God, already come in power.
Y les dijo: De cierto les digo, que hay algunos que no probarán la muerte hasta que vean venir el reino de Dios con poder.
2 And, after six days, Jesus taketh with him Peter and James and John, and bringeth them up into a high mountain, apart, alone, —and he was transformed before them;
Y después de seis días, Jesús tomó consigo a Pedro, a Santiago y a Juan, y los hizo subir con él a lo alto de la montaña solos; y fue transformado en apariencia delante de ellos.
3 and his garments became brilliant, exceeding white, such as, no fuller on the earth, is able, so, to whiten.
Y su ropa se volvió resplandeciente, muy blanca, que por más que la lavara no quedaría así.
4 And there appeared unto them Elijah, with Moses, —and they were conversing with Jesus.
Y vino delante de ellos Elías con Moisés, y ellos estaban hablando con Jesús.
5 And Peter, answering, saith unto Jesus—Rabbi! it is, delightful, for us to be, here, —let us therefore make three tents, for thee, one, and, for Moses, one, and, for Elijah, one;
Y Pedro le dijo a Jesús: Maestro, es bueno para nosotros estar aquí; y hagamos tres tiendas; una para ti, una para Moisés y otra para Elías.
6 for he knew not what he should answer, for, greatly affrighted, had they become.
Porque no estaba seguro de qué hablar, porque tenían un gran temor.
7 And there came a cloud, overshadowing them, and there came a voice, out of the cloud, —This is, my Son, the Beloved, Be hearkening unto him.
Y una nube los cubrió; y una voz salió de la nube, diciendo: Este es mi Hijo amado, escuchenlo.
8 And, suddenly looking round, no longer, saw they, anyone, with them, save, Jesus only.
Y de repente mirando alrededor, ya no vieron a nadie, sino a Jesús solo con ellos.
9 And, as they were coming down out of the mountain, he charged them, that, unto no one, they should narrate what they had seen, save whenever the Son of Man, from among the dead should arise.
Y mientras descendían del monte, les ordenó que no dieran noticia a ninguno de los hombres de lo que habían visto, hasta que el Hijo del hombre hubiera resucitado.
10 And, the word, they held fast unto themselves, discussing what was, the rising from among the dead.
Y guardaron el secreto entre ellos, preguntándose entre ellos que seria eso de resucitar.
11 And they began to question him, saying—The Scribes, say, that, Elijah, must needs come, first?
Y le preguntaron, diciendo: ¿Por qué dicen los escribas que Elías tiene que ser el primero?
12 And, he, said unto them—Elijah, indeed, coming first, restoreth all things; and yet, how is it written, regarding the Son of Man, that, many things, he must suffer, and be set at nought?
Y él les dijo: En verdad, Elías es el primero, y pone todo en orden; ¿y cómo se dice en las Escrituras que el Hijo del hombre sufrirá mucho y será hecho como nada?
13 But I say unto you—Elijah also, hath come, and they have done with him, whatsoever they pleased, —according as it is written regarding him.
Pero yo les digo que Elías ha venido, y le hicieron todo lo que quisieron hacer, como lo dicen las Escrituras acerca de él.
14 And, coming unto the disciples, they saw a large multitude around them, and Scribes discussing with them.
Y cuando llegaron a los discípulos, vieron a una gran multitud de personas a su alrededor, y escribas que los interrogaban.
15 And, straightway, all the multitude, seeing him, were greatly amazed, and, running near, began saluting him.
Y luego todo el pueblo, cuando lo vieron, se llenaron de asombro, y corriendo hacia él, le dieron culto.
16 And he questioned them—What are ye discussing with them?
Y él les preguntó a los escribas: ¿Que estaban discutiendo con ellos?
17 And one out of the multitude answered him—Teacher! I brought my son unto thee, having a dumb spirit;
Y uno de los que estaban en la multitud respondió: Maestro, vine a ti con mi hijo, que tiene un espíritu mudo;
18 and, wheresoever it seizeth him, it teareth him, and he foameth, and grindeth his teeth, and weareth himself out; —and I spake to thy disciples, that they should cast it out, and they could not.
Y donde quiera que lo encuentra y se posesiona de él, lo tira al suelo lo convulsiona echa espuma, rechina los dientes y se pone rígido; e hice un pedido a tus discípulos para que lo echaran, y ellos no pudieron.
19 But, he, answering, saith—O faithless generation! how long, shall I be with you? how long, shall I bear with you? Bring him unto me!
Y les dijo a ellos en respuesta: ¡Oh generación sin fe, cuánto tiempo tendré que estar con ustedes! ¿Cuánto tiempo voy a aguantar su falta de fe? deja que venga a mí.
20 And they brought him unto him. And, seeing him, the spirit, straightway tare him, —and, falling upon the ground, he wallowed, foaming.
Y lo llevaron a él; y cuando lo vio, el espíritu en él se volvió violento inmediatamente; y cayó al cielo, rodando y echando espuma por la boca.
21 And he questioned his father—How long a time, is it, that, this, hath befallen him? and he said—From childhood;
Y Jesús preguntando al padre dijo: ¿Desde cuando ha estado así? Y él dijo: Desde niño.
22 and, many times, hath it cast him, both into fire, and into waters, that it might destroy him; but, if anything be possible to thee, help us, have compassion upon us.
Y con frecuencia lo ha enviado al fuego y al agua, para su destrucción; pero sí puedes hacer algo, tenga piedad de nosotros y ayúdanos.
23 And, Jesus, said unto him—As for this, If it be possible to thee, all things, are possible, to him who hath faith.
Y Jesús le dijo: ¡Si puedes creer! Todas las cosas son posibles para el que tiene fe.
24 Straightway crying out, the father of the child was saying—I have faith! help my, want, of faith.
En seguida, el padre del niño dio un grito, diciendo: Tengo fe; hacer que mi débil fe sea más fuerte.
25 And Jesus, seeing that a multitude is running together, rebuked the impure spirit, saying unto it—Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I, give orders unto thee: Come forth out of him, and do not, any more, enter into him.
Y viendo Jesús que el pueblo corría, dio orden al espíritu inmundo, diciéndole: Espíritu tú, que eres la causa de su pérdida de voz y de oído, te digo que salgas de él, y nunca más entres en él.
26 And, crying out, and greatly mangling him, it came forth; and he became as if dead, so that, the more part, were saying—He is dead!
Y después de dar voces y sacudirlo violentamente, salió; y el niño se quedó como un muerto; así que la mayoría de ellos dijo: Está muerto.
27 But, Jesus, grasping his hand, raised him, and he stood up.
Pero Jesús lo tomó de la mano y lo levantó; y él se levantó.
28 And, when he had gone into a house, his disciples, privately, were questioning him—Why, were, we, not able to cast it out?
Cuando entró en la casa, sus discípulos le dijeron en privado: ¿Por qué no hemos podido echarlo fuera?
29 And he said unto them—This kind, by nothing, can come out, save, by prayer.
Y les dijo: Nada hará que salga este género, sino la oración y ayuno.
30 And, from thence, going forth, they were journeying through Galilee, —and he was not wishing that any should get to know it;
Y salieron de allí, por Galilea; y era su deseo que ningún hombre lo supiera;
31 for he was teaching his disciples and saying [unto them], The Son of Man, is to be delivered up, into the hands of men, and they will slay him, —and, being slain, after three days, will he arise.
Porque enseñaba a sus discípulos y les decía: El Hijo del hombre es entregado en manos de hombres, y le matarán; y cuando él esté muerto, después de tres días volverá de entre los muertos.
32 But they were not understanding the declaration, and feared, to question, him.
Pero el dicho no era claro para ellos, y temían cuestionarlo al respecto.
33 And they came into Capernaum. And, happening to be, in the house, he was questioning them—What, in the way, were ye discussing?
Y vinieron a Capernaúm; y estando él en la casa, les preguntó: ¿De qué estabas hablando en el camino?
34 And they were silent; for, with one another, they had discussed in the way, who should be greatest.
Pero no dijeron nada: porque habían tenido una discusión entre ellos en el camino, sobre quién era el mejor.
35 And, taking a seat, he addressed the twelve, and saith unto them—If anyone willeth to be, first, he shall be, least of all, and, minister of all.
Y sentándose, hizo venir a los doce; y les dijo: Si alguno tiene el deseo de ser el primero, será el último de todos y el servidor de todos.
36 And, taking a child, he set it in the midst of them, —and, folding it in his arms, said unto them—
Y tomó un niño, y lo puso en medio de ellos; y tomándolo en sus brazos, les dijo:
37 Whosoever, unto, [one of] these children, shall give welcome, upon my name, unto me, giveth welcome; and, whosoever, unto me, giveth welcome, not, unto me, giveth welcome, but, unto him that sent me.
Cualquiera que dé honor a un niño tan pequeño en mi nombre, me honra; y el que me honra, no me honra, sino al que me envió.
38 John said unto him—Teacher! we saw someone, in thy name, casting out demons, —and we forbade him, because he was not following with us.
Juan le dijo: Maestro, vimos a uno que expulsaba espíritus malos en tu nombre; y dijimos que no lo hiciera, porque no es uno de nosotros.
39 But, Jesus, said—Do not forbid him! For, no one, is there, who shall do a work of power in my name, and have power, soon, to revile me;
Pero Jesús dijo: No digas; porque no hay varón que haga gran obra en mi nombre, y que al mismo tiempo diga mal de mí.
40 For, whosoever is not, against, us, is, for, us;
El que no está contra nosotros es por nosotros.
41 For, whosoever shall give you to drink a cup of water, in name that, Christ’s, ye are, Verily! I say unto you, in nowise, shall lose his reward.
El que les da un vaso de agua, porque son de Cristo, de cierto os digo que de ninguna manera estará sin su recompensa.
42 And, whosoever shall cause to stumble one of these little ones that believe, it is, seemly, for him, rather, if there is hung a large millstone about his neck, and he is cast into the sea.
Y cualquiera que cause problemas a uno de estos pequeños que tiene fe en mí, sería mejor para él que le pusieran una gran piedra en el cuello y lo tiraran al mar.
43 And, if thy hand shall cause thee to stumble, cut it off, —it is, seemly, for thee, maimed, to enter into life, rather than having, the two hands, to depart into the gehenna, into the fire that is not quenched; (Geenna g1067)
Y si tu mano te lleva al pecado, que sea cortada; es mejor para ti ir a la vida con una mano que tener dos manos e ir al infierno, al fuego eterno. (Geenna g1067)
Donde el gusano de ellos no muere y el fuego nunca se apaga.
45 And, if thy foot be causing thee to stumble, cut it off, —it is, seemly, for thee, to enter into life, lame, rather than having, the two feet, to be cast into the gehenna; (Geenna g1067)
Y si tu pie te lleva al pecado, que sea cortado: es mejor para ti entrar en la vida con un pie que tener dos pies e ir al infierno. (Geenna g1067)
Donde el gusano de ellos no se muere y el fuego nunca se apaga.
47 And, if thine eye be causing thee to stumble, thrust it out, —it is, seemly, for thee, one-eye, to enter into the kingdom of God, rather than having, two eyes, to be cast into gehenna, (Geenna g1067)
Y si tu ojo te lleva al pecado, sácatelo: es mejor para ti entrar en el reino de Dios con un ojo que tener dos ojos para ir al infierno, (Geenna g1067)
48 Where, their worm, dieth not, and, the fire, is not quenched,
donde su gusano está siempre vivo y el fuego no se apaga.
49 For, everyone, with fire, shall be salted.
Todos serán salados con fuego y todo sacrificio será salado con sal.
50 Salt is, good: but, if, salt, become, saltless, wherewith will ye, prepare, it? Have, within yourselves, salt, and be at peace, one with another.
La sal es buena; pero si se hace insípida, ¿Con qué la sazonaras? Tengan sal en ustedes mismos, y estén en paz unos con otros.
