< Mark 3 >
1 And he entered again into a synagogue, and there-was there, a man having, his hand, withered;
anantaraṁ yīśuḥ puna rbhajanagṛhaṁ praviṣṭastasmin sthāne śuṣkahasta eko mānava āsīt|
2 and they were narrowly watching him, whether, on the Sabbath, he would cure him, that they might accuse him.
sa viśrāmavāre tamarogiṇaṁ kariṣyati navetyatra bahavastam apavadituṁ chidramapekṣitavantaḥ|
3 And he saith unto the man who hath his hand withered, Arise into the midst!
tadā sa taṁ śuṣkahastaṁ manuṣyaṁ jagāda madhyasthāne tvamuttiṣṭha|
4 and saith unto them—Is it allowed, on the Sabbath, to do good, or to do evil? To, save, life, or, to slay? but they remained silent.
tataḥ paraṁ sa tān papraccha viśrāmavāre hitamahitaṁ tathā hi prāṇarakṣā vā prāṇanāśa eṣāṁ madhye kiṁ karaṇīyaṁ? kintu te niḥśabdāstasthuḥ|
5 And, looking round upon them with anger, being at the same time grieved on account of the hardening of their heart, he saith unto the man—Stretch forth thy hand! and he stretched it forth, and his hand, was restored.
tadā sa teṣāmantaḥkaraṇānāṁ kāṭhinyāddheto rduḥkhitaḥ krodhāt cartudaśo dṛṣṭavān taṁ mānuṣaṁ gaditavān taṁ hastaṁ vistāraya, tatastena haste vistṛte taddhasto'nyahastavad arogo jātaḥ|
6 And, the Pharisees, going out straightway with the Herodians, were giving counsel against him, that they should, destroy, him.
atha phirūśinaḥ prasthāya taṁ nāśayituṁ herodīyaiḥ saha mantrayitumārebhire|
7 And, Jesus, with his disciples, retired unto the sea; and, a great throng from Galilee, followed, also from Judaea,
ataeva yīśustatsthānaṁ parityajya śiṣyaiḥ saha punaḥ sāgarasamīpaṁ gataḥ;
8 and from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and beyond the Jordan, and around Tyre and Zidon, a great throng, hearing whatsoever things he was doing, came unto him.
tato gālīlyihūdā-yirūśālam-idom-yardannadīpārasthānebhyo lokasamūhastasya paścād gataḥ; tadanyaḥ sorasīdanoḥ samīpavāsilokasamūhaśca tasya mahākarmmaṇāṁ vārttaṁ śrutvā tasya sannidhimāgataḥ|
9 And he spake unto his disciples that a little boat might attend him, because of the multitude, —that they might not be pressing upon him.
tadā lokasamūhaścet tasyopari patati ityāśaṅkya sa nāvamekāṁ nikaṭe sthāpayituṁ śiṣyānādiṣṭavān|
10 For he cured many, so that they were besieging him, that they might touch him—as many as had plagues;
yato'nekamanuṣyāṇāmārogyakaraṇād vyādhigrastāḥ sarvve taṁ spraṣṭuṁ parasparaṁ balena yatnavantaḥ|
11 and the impure spirits, as soon as they beheld him, were falling down to him, and crying aloud, while he was speaking, Thou, art the Son of God!
aparañca apavitrabhūtāstaṁ dṛṣṭvā taccaraṇayoḥ patitvā procaiḥ procuḥ, tvamīśvarasya putraḥ|
12 and sternly was he rebuking them, lest they should make him manifest.
kintu sa tān dṛḍham ājñāpya svaṁ paricāyituṁ niṣiddhavān|
13 And he goeth up into the mountain and calleth near whom, he, pleased, —and they went away unto him;
anantaraṁ sa parvvatamāruhya yaṁ yaṁ praticchā taṁ tamāhūtavān tataste tatsamīpamāgatāḥ|
14 and he appointed a twelve, whom also he named, Apostles, —that they might be with him, and that he might be sending them forth to make proclamation,
tadā sa dvādaśajanān svena saha sthātuṁ susaṁvādapracārāya preritā bhavituṁ
15 and to have authority to cast out the demons;
sarvvaprakāravyādhīnāṁ śamanakaraṇāya prabhāvaṁ prāptuṁ bhūtān tyājayituñca niyuktavān|
16 and he appointed the twelve (and imposed a name on Simon—) Peter,
teṣāṁ nāmānīmāni, śimon sivadiputro
17 and James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James (and imposed on them a name—Boanerges, that is, sons of thunder);
yākūb tasya bhrātā yohan ca āndriyaḥ philipo barthalamayaḥ,
18 and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the zealot;
mathī thomā ca ālphīyaputro yākūb thaddīyaḥ kinānīyaḥ śimon yastaṁ parahasteṣvarpayiṣyati sa īṣkariyotīyayihūdāśca|
19 and Judas Iscariot, who also delivered him up. And he cometh into a house;
sa śimone pitara ityupanāma dadau yākūbyohanbhyāṁ ca binerigiś arthato meghanādaputrāvityupanāma dadau|
20 and the multitude come together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.
anantaraṁ te niveśanaṁ gatāḥ, kintu tatrāpi punarmahān janasamāgamo 'bhavat tasmātte bhoktumapyavakāśaṁ na prāptāḥ|
21 And they who were near to him, hearing of it, went out to secure him, —for they were saying—He is beside himself!
tatastasya suhṛllokā imāṁ vārttāṁ prāpya sa hatajñānobhūd iti kathāṁ kathayitvā taṁ dhṛtvānetuṁ gatāḥ|
22 And, the Scribes who from Jerusalem had come down, were saying—He hath, Beelzebul; and—In the ruler of the demons, casteth he out the demons.
aparañca yirūśālama āgatā ye ye'dhyāpakāste jagadurayaṁ puruṣo bhūtapatyābiṣṭastena bhūtapatinā bhūtān tyājayati|
23 And, calling them near, in parables, began he to say unto them—How can, Satan, cast, Satan out?
tatastānāhūya yīśu rdṛṣṭāntaiḥ kathāṁ kathitavān śaitān kathaṁ śaitānaṁ tyājayituṁ śaknoti?
24 And, if a kingdom against itself be divided, that kingdom cannot be made to stand;
kiñcana rājyaṁ yadi svavirodhena pṛthag bhavati tarhi tad rājyaṁ sthiraṁ sthātuṁ na śaknoti|
25 And, if a house against itself be divided, the house shall be unable to stand;
tathā kasyāpi parivāro yadi parasparaṁ virodhī bhavati tarhi sopi parivāraḥ sthiraṁ sthātuṁ na śaknoti|
26 And, if, Satan, hath risen up against himself, and become divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
tadvat śaitān yadi svavipakṣatayā uttiṣṭhan bhinno bhavati tarhi sopi sthiraṁ sthātuṁ na śaknoti kintūcchinno bhavati|
27 But, no one is able into the house of the mighty one to enter, and, his spoils, to carry off, unless, first the mighty one, he bind, and, then his house, will he plunder!
aparañca prabalaṁ janaṁ prathamaṁ na baddhā kopi tasya gṛhaṁ praviśya dravyāṇi luṇṭhayituṁ na śaknoti, taṁ badvvaiva tasya gṛhasya dravyāṇi luṇṭhayituṁ śaknoti|
28 Verily, I say unto you—All things shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, —the sins and the profanities wherewithal they shall profane;
atoheto ryuṣmabhyamahaṁ satyaṁ kathayāmi manuṣyāṇāṁ santānā yāni yāni pāpānīśvaranindāñca kurvvanti teṣāṁ tatsarvveṣāmaparādhānāṁ kṣamā bhavituṁ śaknoti,
29 But, whosoever shall revile against the Holy Spirit, hath no forgiveness, unto times age-abiding, —but is guilty of an age-abiding sin: (aiōn , aiōnios )
kintu yaḥ kaścit pavitramātmānaṁ nindati tasyāparādhasya kṣamā kadāpi na bhaviṣyati sonantadaṇḍasyārho bhaviṣyati| (aiōn , aiōnios )
30 because they were saying—An impure spirit, he hath!
tasyāpavitrabhūto'sti teṣāmetatkathāhetoḥ sa itthaṁ kathitavān|
31 And there come his mother and his brethren, and, standing, outside, they sent unto him, calling him.
atha tasya mātā bhrātṛgaṇaścāgatya bahistiṣṭhanato lokān preṣya tamāhūtavantaḥ|
32 And there was sitting around him a multitude, and they say unto him—Lo! thy mother and thy brethren, outside, are seeking thee!
tatastatsannidhau samupaviṣṭā lokāstaṁ babhāṣire paśya bahistava mātā bhrātaraśca tvām anvicchanti|
33 And, answering them, he saith—Who are my mother and my brethren?
tadā sa tān pratyuvāca mama mātā kā bhrātaro vā ke? tataḥ paraṁ sa svamīpopaviṣṭān śiṣyān prati avalokanaṁ kṛtvā kathayāmāsa
34 And, looking around on them who, about him, in a circle, were sitting, he saith, See! my mother and my brethren!
paśyataite mama mātā bhrātaraśca|
35 Whosoever shall do the will of God, the same, is my brother and sister and mother.
yaḥ kaścid īśvarasyeṣṭāṁ kriyāṁ karoti sa eva mama bhrātā bhaginī mātā ca|
