< Mark 14 >
1 Now it was the Passover and the Unleavened [cakes], after two days. And the High-priests and Scribes were seeking, how, with guile, they might secure, and lay him;
Embaga ey’Okuyitako, kwe baliira emigaati egitali mizimbulukuse, yali ebuzaayo ennaku bbiri etuuke. Bakabona abakulu n’abannyonnyozi b’amateeka ne basala olukwe engeri gye banaakwata Yesu bamutte.
2 for they were saying—Not in the feast, lest there be an uproar of the people.
Ne bagamba nti, “Si mu kiseera ky’embaga y’Okuyitako, kubanga abantu bayinza okuleetawo akeegugungo.”
3 And, he being in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as he was reclining, there came a woman, holding an alabaster-jar of perfume, pure spikenard, very costly; and breaking the jar she was pouring down [the perfume], upon his head.
Mu kiseera ekyo Yesu ng’ali Besaniya mu nnyumba y’omusajja eyali amanyiddwa nga Simooni Omugenge, ng’atudde, omukazi n’ayingira ng’alina eccupa, eyalimu amafuta ag’akaloosa ag’omuwendo omungi. N’ayasa eccupa n’asiiga amafuta ku mutwe gwa Yesu.
4 But there were some much displeased among themselves—To what end hath, this waste of the perfume happened?
Abamu ku abo abaaliwo ne basunguwalira nnyo ekikolwa ekyo, nga beebuuza nti, “Amafuta ago gafudde ki?
5 For this perfume could have been sold for above three hundred denaries, and given unto the destitute! and they were indignant with her.
Wakiri singa gatundiddwa dinaali ezisukka mu bikumi ebisatu, ne ziweebwa abaavu!” Ne bamwemulugunyiza.
6 But, Jesus, said—Let her alone! Why are ye reproaching, her? A seemly work, hath she wrought, in me;
Naye Yesu n’abagamba nti, “Omukazi mumuleke. Lwaki mumuteganya? Ankoledde ekikolwa kirungi.
7 For, always, have ye, the destitute, with you, and whensoever ye please, ye can, unto them, [at any time] do well! But, me, not, always, have ye.
Abaavu muli nabo bulijjo, era muyinza okubakolera obulungi buli we mwagalidde, naye Nze sijja kubeera nammwe bulijjo.
8 What she had, she used, —She took it beforehand to anoint my body for the burial;
Akoze ky’asobola, omubiri gwange agusiigiddewo amafuta ag’akaloosa nga bukyali, ng’aguteekateeka okuziikibwa.
9 And, verily, say unto you—Wheresoever the glad-message shall be proclaimed throughout the whole world, —also what she did, will be told for a memorial of her.
Ddala ddala mbagamba nti buli kifo kyonna Enjiri gy’eneebuulirwanga mu nsi yonna, ekikolwa ky’omukazi ono kinajjukirwanga era kinaayongerwangako okumujjukiranga.”
10 And, Judas Iscariot, who was one of he twelve, went away unto the High-priests, that, him, he might deliver up unto them.
Awo Yuda Isukalyoti, omu ku bayigirizwa ba Yesu ekkumi n’ababiri, n’agenda eri bakabona abakulu alabe bw’anaalyamu Yesu olukwe amubawe.
11 Now, when they heard, they rejoiced, and promised to give him, silver; and he was seeking how, at a favourable opportunity, he might, deliver him up.
Bakabona abakulu bwe baakiwulira ne basanyuka nnyo, ne bamusuubiza okumuwa ensimbi. Bw’atyo Yuda n’atandika okunoonyereza engeri entuufu w’anaaweerayo Yesu.
12 And, on the first day of the unleavened cakes, when, the passover, they were slaying, his disciples say unto him—Where wilt thou, we depart and make ready, that thou mayest eat the passover?
Awo ku lunaku olusooka olw’embaga y’Abayudaaya kwe baliira emigaati egitali mizimbulukuse, nga bawaayo omwana gw’endiga ogw’Okuyitako nga ssaddaaka, abayigirizwa be ne bamubuuza nti, “Oyagala tukutegekere wa gy’onooliira Embaga ey’Okuyitako.”
13 And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them—Go your way into the city, and there will meet you a man, a jar of water, bearing, —follow him;
N’atuma babiri ku bayigirizwa be, n’abagamba nti, “Mugende mu kibuga munaasanga omusajja eyeetisse ensuwa y’amazzi, mumugoberere.
14 and, wheresoever he shall enter, say ye unto the householder—The teacher, saith, Where is my lodging, where, the passover, with my disciples, I may eat?
Muyingire mu nnyumba mw’anaayingira, mubuuze nnyinimu nti, ‘Ekisenge nze n’abayigirizwa bange mwe tunaalira Embaga ey’Okuyitako kiri ludda wa?’
15 And, he, unto you, will shew, a large upper-room, spread ready, and, there, make ye ready for us.
Ajja kubalaga ekisenge ekinene ekya waggulu, ekiwedde okulongoosa n’okutegeka. Muteekereteekere omwo ekijjulo kyaffe.”
16 And the disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found, according as he had said unto them, —and they made ready the passover.
Awo abayigirizwa ababiri ne bagenda mu kibuga, ne basanga byonna nga Yesu bwe yabibagamba, ne bateekateeka Okuyitako.
17 And, when evening arrived, he cometh, with the twelve.
Obudde bwe bwawungeera n’atuuka n’abayigirizwa be ekkumi n’ababiri.
18 And, as they were reclining and eating, Jesus said—Verily, I say unto you—One from among you, will deliver me up, he that is eating with me.
Bwe baali batudde nga balya, Yesu n’abagamba nti, “Ddala ddala mbagamba nti omu ku mmwe alya nange anandyamu olukwe.”
19 They began to be grieved, and to be saying unto him, one by one, —Can it be, I?
Ennaku n’ebakwata nnyo, ne batandika okumubuuza kinnoomu nti, “Ddala ye nze?”
20 And, he, said unto them—One of the twelve, he that is dipping with me into the [one] bowl:
N’abagamba nti, “Omu ku mmwe ekkumi n’ababiri, akoza nange mu kibya.
21 Because, the Son of Man, indeed, goeth his way, —according as it is written concerning him; but alas! for that man, through whom the Son of Man is being delivered up, —Well for him, if that man, had not been born!
Omwana w’Omuntu agenda ng’Ebyawandiikibwa bwe biri. Naye zimusanze alya mu Mwana w’Omuntu olukwe. Kyandibadde kirungi singa omuntu oyo teyazaalibwa.”
22 And, as they were eating, taking a loaf, he blessed and brake, and gave unto them, and said—Take! this, is, my body;
Awo bwe baali balya, Yesu n’addira omugaati, ne yeebaza, n’agumenyaamenyamu, n’agabira abayigirizwa be, n’abagamba nti, “Mutoole mulye, guno gwe mubiri gwange.”
23 And, taking a cup, he offered thanks, and gave unto them; and they, all, drank of it.
Ate n’addira ekikompe ne yeebaza n’akibawa; bonna ne banywa.
24 And he said unto them—This, is, my blood of the covenant, that is to be poured out in behalf of many.
N’abagamba nti, “Guno musaayi gwange ogw’endagaano, oguyiika ku lw’abangi.
25 Verily, I say unto you—No more, will I in anywise drink of the fruit of the vine, until that day when I shall be drinking it new, in the kingdom of God.
Ddala ddala mbagamba nti sigenda kuddayo kunywa ku kibala kya muzabbibu okutuusa ku lunaku luli lwe ndikinywa nga kisingawo obulungi mu bwakabaka bwa Katonda.”
26 And, having sung praise, they went forth unto the Mount of Olives.
Awo ne bayimbayo oluyimba, ne bafuluma ne bagenda ku lusozi olwa Zeyituuni.
27 And Jesus saith unto them—Ye, all, will find cause of stumbling, because it is written, —I will smite the shepherd, and, the sheep, will be scattered abroad;
Yesu n’abagamba nti, “Buli omu ku mmwe ajja kunjabulira, kubanga kyawandiikibwa nti, “‘Ndikuba omusumba, endiga ne zisaasaana.’
28 But, after my arising, I will go before you into Galilee.
Naye bwe ndimala okuzuukizibwa, ndibakulembera okugenda e Ggaliraaya.”
29 And, Peter, said unto him—Even if, all, shall find cause of stumbling, certainly not, I.
Peetero n’amugamba nti, “Abalala bonna ne bwe banaakwabulira, nze siikwabulire!”
30 And Jesus saith unto him—Verily, I say unto thee, thou, this day, in this night, before that twice a cock crow, thrice, will deny me.
Yesu n’amugamba nti, “Ddala ddala nkugamba nti ekiro kya leero, enkoko eneeba tennakookolima mirundi ebiri, onooneegaana emirundi esatu.”
31 But he, most vehemently, was saying—Even though I must needs die with thee, in nowise, will I, deny thee. Likewise, indeed, were, all besides, saying.
Peetero n’akiggumiza nnyo ng’agamba nti, “Oba kufiira wamu naawe n’afa, naye sijja kukwegaana n’akamu kokka.” N’abalala bonna ne beerayirira bwe batyo.
32 And they come into an estate the name of which is Gethsemane, and he saith unto his disciples—Sit ye here, while I pray.
Awo Yesu n’abayigirizwa be ne batuuka mu kifo ekiyitibwa Gesusemane, n’agamba abayigirizwa be nti, “Mugira mutuula wano, ŋŋende nsabe.”
33 And he taketh Peter and James and John with him, and began to be exceedingly amazed, and in great distress;
N’atwala Peetero, ne Yakobo ne Yokaana; n’atandika okweraliikirira n’okuteganyizibwa mu mutima.
34 and he saith unto them—Encompassed with grief is my soul, unto death: Abide ye here, and be watching.
N’abagamba nti, “Omwoyo gwange guliko ennaku nnyingi nnyo zaagala na kunzita, kale mubeere wano mukuume.”
35 And, going forward a little, he fell upon the ground, and was praying that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him;
Ne yeeyongerako mu maaso katono, n’agwa wansi n’asaba obanga kisoboka, essaawa eyo, ereme kutuuka.
36 and was saying—Abba! O Father! All things, are possible to thee: Bear aside this cup from me; but not what, I, will, but what, thou, [wilt].
N’asaba nti, “Aba, Kitange, ebintu byonna bisoboka gy’oli. Nzigyako ekikompe kino. Naye si nga Nze bwe njagala, wabula nga ggwe bw’oyagala.”
37 And he cometh and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter—Simon! art thou sleeping? Hadst thou not strength, one hour, to watch?
N’akomawo gye bali, n’abasanga nga beebase. N’agamba Peetero nti, “Simooni! Weebase? Tosobodde kutunulako nange wadde essaawa emu?
38 Be watching and praying, that ye enter not into temptation: the, spirit, indeed, is willing, but, the flesh, weak.
Mutunule musabe, muleme kukemebwa. Omwoyo gwagala, naye omubiri munafu.”
39 And, again, departing, he prayed, [the same thing, saying].
Ate n’abaleka awo n’addayo, n’asaba ebigambo bye bimu na biri bye yasaba olubereberye.
40 And, again, coming, he found them sleeping, for their eyes were being, weighed down, —and they knew not what to answer him.
N’akomawo we bali, n’abasanga nga beebase, kubanga amaaso gaabwe gaali gakambira. Ne batamanya kya kumuddamu.
41 And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them—Ye are sleeping the remaining time and taking your rest: —It is enough! the hour hath come! Lo! the Son of Man is being delivered up into the hands of sinners.
Bwe yadda gye bali omulundi ogwokusatu n’abagamba nti, “Kale mwebakire ddala. Kinaamala, laba ekiseera kituuse Omwana w’Omuntu aweebweyo mu mikono gy’abalina ebibi.
42 Be rousing yourselves, let us be leading on! Lo! he that is delivering me up, hath drawn near.
Musituke! Tugende, laba andyamu olukwe anaatera okutuuka.”
43 And, straightway, while yet he is speaking, Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, cometh near, and, with him, a multitude, with swords and clubs, from the High-priests and the Scribes and the Elders.
Yesu yali akyayogera, amangwago Yuda (omu ku batume be ekkumi n’ababiri) n’ajja ng’ali n’ekibiina kinene, ekyava ewa bakabona abakulu, n’abakulembeze b’Abayudaaya, nga balina ebitala era nga bakutte emiggo.
44 He that is delivering him up hath given an agreed sign unto them, saying—Whomsoever I shall kiss, he, it is! Secure him, and be leading away, safely.
Yuda yali abagambye nti, “Gwe nnanywegera, ye wuuyo mumukwate, mumutwale nga mumunywezezza.”
45 And, coming, straightway, stepping forward to him, he saith—Rabbi! and openly kissed him.
Awo baali baakatuuka Yuda n’alaga eri Yesu, bwe yamutuukako n’agamba nti, “Omuyigiriza!” N’amugwa mu kifuba.
46 And, they, thrust their hands on him, and secured him.
Ne bavumbagira Yesu ne bamukwata, ne bamunyweza.
47 [A certain] one of the by-standers, drawing a sword, smote the servant of the High priest, and took off his, ear.
Naye omu ku baali bayimiridde awo n’asowolayo ekitala n’asalako okutu kw’omuddu wa Kabona Asinga Obukulu.
48 And Jesus, answering, said unto them—As against a robber, came ye forth, with swords and clubs, to arrest me?
Yesu n’ababuuza nti, “Lwaki munzijjidde ng’omumenyi w’amateeka, n’ebitala n’emiggo okunkwata?
49 Daily, was I with you, in the temple, teaching; and ye secured me not. But, that, the Scriptures, may be fulfilled…
Mbadde nammwe ennaku nnyingi mu yeekaalu nga njigiriza, naye temwankwata. Naye kino kikoleddwa ebyawandiikibwa bituukirire.”
50 And they, all, forsook, him, and fled.
Bonna ne bamwabulira ne badduka.
51 And, a certain young man, was following with him, having cast about himself a fine Indian cloth, over his naked body, —and they are securing him;
Naye waaliwo omulenzi omuvubuka eyali agoberera ng’avaako ennyuma, nga yeebikkiridde olugoye, lumu lwokka, ne baagezaako okumukwata,
52 but, he, leaving behind the cloth, fled naked.
n’abeesumattulako, ne basigaza olugoye n’adduka bwereere.
53 And they led away Jesus unto the High-priest; and all the High-priests and the Elders and the Scribes gather together.
Awo Yesu n’atwalibwa eri Kabona Asinga Obukulu, bakabona abakulu n’abakulembeze b’Abayudaaya n’abannyonnyozi b’amateeka.
54 And, Peter, afar of, followed him, as far as within, into the court of the High-priest; and was sitting with the attendants, and warming himself by the light.
Peetero n’agoberera nga yeesuddeko akabanga, n’ayita mu luggya lwa Kabona Asinga Obukulu, n’atuula ku kyoto n’abaweereza we baali bootera omuliro.
55 Now, the High-priest, and all the High-council, were seeking, against Jesus, testimony, with the intent to put him to death, —and were not finding any;
Bakabona abakulu, n’Abasaddukaayo bonna, baali banoonya obujulizi kwe banaasinziira okutta Yesu, naye ne bubabula.
56 for, many, were bearing false-witness against him, and the testimonies were not, agreed.
Bangi baayogera eby’obulimba ku ye, naye obujulizi bwabwe nga bukoonagana bukoonaganyi.
57 And some, standing up, were bearing false-witness against him, saying—
Abamu ku bo ne bamuwaayiriza nga bagamba nti,
58 We, heard him saying, I, will pull down this shrine, the one made by hand, and, in three days, another, not made by hand, will I raise.
“Twamuwulira ng’ayogera nti, ‘Ndizikiriza Yeekaalu eno eyazimbibwa n’emikono gy’abantu, naye oluvannyuma lw’ennaku ssatu ndizzaawo endala etazimbiddwa na mikono gy’abantu.’”
59 And, not even so, was the testimony, agreed.
Naye era n’olwo ebigambo byabwe tebyatereera bulungi.
60 And, the High-priest rising up into the midst, questioned Jesus, saying—Answerest thou, nothing? What are these, against thee, witnessing?
Awo Kabona Asinga Obukulu n’ayimirira, n’abuuza Yesu nti, “Tolina ky’oddamu ku bino bye bakwogerako?”
61 But, he, was silent, and answered, nothing. Again, the High-priest was questioning him, and saith unto him—Art, thou, the Christ the Son of the Blessed?
Yesu n’atamuddamu kintu. Ate Kabona Asinga Obukulu n’amubuuza nti, “Ggwe Kristo, Omwana w’oyo atenderezebwa?”
62 And Jesus said—I, am; and ye shall see the Son of Man—sitting, on the right hand, of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.
Yesu n’addamu nti, “Ye Nze, era mugenda kulaba Omwana w’Omuntu ng’atudde ku mukono ogwa ddyo ogwa Katonda Ayinzabyonna, ng’akomawo mu bire eby’eggulu.”
63 And, the High-priest, having rent asunder his inner-garments, saith—What, further, need have we, of witnesses?
Awo Kabona Asinga Obukulu n’ayuza ebyambalo bye, n’agamba nti, “Ate twetaagira ki abajulizi?
64 Heard ye the profanity? What, to you, doth it appear? And they, all, condemned him to be, worthy, of, death.
Muwulidde obuvvoozi. Musala mutya omusango guno?” Bonna ne bamusalira gwa kufa.
65 And some began to be spitting at him, and, covering up his face, and to be buffeting him, and saying to him—Prophesy! And, the attendants, with smart blows, took him.
Abamu ne batandika okumuwandulira amalusu, ne bamusiba kantuntunu ku maaso, ne bamukuba empi mu maaso, nga bwe bamuduulira nga bagamba nti, “Lagula.” N’abaserikale nabo ne bamukuba ebikonde nga bamufulumya.
66 And, Peter, being, below in the court, there cometh one of the maid-servants of the High-priest;
Peetero yali ali wabweru mu luggya, omu ku bawala abaweereza ba Kabona Asinga Obukulu n’ajja.
67 and, seeing Peter warming himself, having looked at him, saith—And, thou, wast, with the Nazarene—with Jesus.
Bwe yalaba Peetero n’amwetegereza ng’ayota omuliro, n’amugamba nti, “Ggwe, wali ne Yesu, Omunnazaaleesi.”
68 But, he, denied, saying—I neither know [him], nor do I well understand what, thou, sayest; and went out into the porch.
Peetero ne yeegaana ng’agamba nti, “Simanyi wadde okutegeera by’oyogerako!” N’afuluma n’alaga ebweru mu kisasi, enkoko n’ekookolima.
69 And, the maid-servant, seeing him, began, again, to be saying unto the by-standers—This one, is, from among them.
Omuwala oli n’alengera Peetero, n’ategeeza banne abaali bayimiridde awo nti, “Ono ali omu ku bo.”
70 But, he, again, was denying. And, after a little again, the by-standers, were saying unto Peter—Truly, thou, art, from among them; for thou art, a Galilaean, also.
Peetero n’ayongera okwegaana. Bwe waayitawo akabanga, abantu abalala abaali bayimiridde awo ne bagamba Peetero nti, “Ddala ddala oli omu ku bo, kubanga oli Mugaliraaya!”
71 And, he, began to be cursing and swearing—I know not this man, of whom ye are speaking!
Peetero n’atandika, okukolima n’okulayira nga bw’agamba nti, “Omusajja ono gwe mwogerako, simumanyi.”
72 And, straightway, a second time, a cock, crowed; and Peter was reminded of the declaration, how Jesus had said to him—Before a cock, twice, crow, thrice, wilt thou deny me. And, when he thought thereon, he began to weep.
Amangwago enkoko n’ekookolima omulundi ogwokubiri, Peetero n’ajjukira ebigambo Yesu bye yali amugambye nti, “Enkoko eneeba tennakookolima mirundi ebiri, onoonneegaana emirundi esatu.” Awo Peetero n’atulika n’akaaba amaziga.
