Malachi 2
1 Now, therefore, for you, is this charge, O ye priests: —
Koulye a, men lòd mwen bay prèt yo:
2 If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory to my Name, saith Yahweh of hosts, then will I send among you the curse, and will curse your blessings, —and indeed I have cursed them, because ye are not at all laying it to heart.
Si nou pa koute sa m'ap di nou la a, si nou pa soti pou nou sèvi yon lwanj pou mwen, m'ap voye madichon sou nou. Se Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a k'ap pale konsa wi. M'ap madichonnen tout bon bagay k'ap vin pou nou yo. Wi, mwen madichonnen yo deja, paske nou pa soti pou nou sèvi yon lwanj pou mwen.
3 Behold me! threatening, on your account, the seed, and I will scatter refuse upon your faces, the refuse of your festivals, —and one shall carry you away unto it;
Mwen pral touye pitit nou yo. Mwen pral voye salte, tripay bèt nou ofri yo nan figi nou. Lèfini, m'ap voye nou jete ansanm ak yo.
4 So shall ye know that I sent unto you this charge, —as being my covenant with Levi, saith Yahweh of hosts.
Lè sa a, n'a konnen se mwen menm ki te ban nou lòd sa a, pou kontra mwen te pase ak fanmi Levi a ka toujou la. Se Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a ki di sa.
5 My covenant, was with him, Life and Well-being, so I gave them to him—[I] as One to be revered— and he did revere me, — and, before my Name, dismayed, was he.
Nan kontra mwen te pase ak yo a, mwen te pwomèt mwen t'ap ba yo lavi ak kè poze. E mwen te ba yo l'. Yo menm, se pou yo te gen krentif pou mwen. Yo te gen krentif pou mwen vre, yo te respekte m'.
6 The deliverance of truth, was in his mouth, and, perverseness, was not found in his lips, — In well-doing and in uprightness, walked he with me, and, multitudes, did he turn from iniquity.
Se verite ase ki te soti nan bouch yo. Yo pa t' janm chache twonpe m'. Yo toujou mache avè m' ak kè poze. Yo t'ap fè sa ki dwat. Yo te fè anpil moun sispann fè sa ki mal.
7 For, the lips of a priest, should keep knowledge, and, a deliverance, should men seek at his mouth, — for, the messenger of Yahweh of hosts, he is.
Se devwa prèt yo pou yo moutre moun sa Bondye ye. Moun al kote yo pou yo ka konnen sa Bondye mande yo fè. Paske se mesaje Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a yo ye.
8 But, ye, have departed out of the way, ye have caused multitudes to stumble at the deliverance, — ye have violated the covenant of Levi, saith Yahweh of hosts.
Men, nou menm prèt yo, nou kite chemen Bondye a. Nou lakòz anpil moun pa kenbe kòmandman mwen bay yo. Se Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a ki di sa. Nou pa kenbe kontra mwen te fè ak moun fanmi Levi yo.
9 Therefore, I also, will suffer you to be despised and of no account unto all the people, —in proportion as none of you have been keeping my ways, but have had respect to persons, in giving your deliverance.
Se poutèt sa m'ap fè tout moun pèp Izrayèl yo derespekte nou. Y'ap pran nou pou vakabon, paske nou pa fè sa mwen mande nou fè. Nou gade sou figi moun lè pou n' di yo sa lalwa a mande.
10 Is there not, one Father, to us all? Did not, one GOD, create us? Wherefore should we deal treacherously one with another, profaning the covenant of our fathers?
Eske se pa yon sèl papa a nou tout nou genyen? Eske se pa yon sèl Bondye ki fè nou tou? Poukisa atò nou pa kenbe pwomès nou yonn ak lòt? Poukisa nou meprize kontra Bondye te fè ak zansèt nou yo?
11 Judah, hath dealt treacherously, and, an abomination, hath been wrought in Israel, and in Jerusalem, — for Judah, had profaned, the holy place of Yahweh, which he had loved, and hath taken to himself the daughter of a foreign GOD.
Moun Jida yo trayi Bondye. Yo fè yon move bagay ki lèd anpil nan peyi Izrayèl la ak nan lavil Jerizalèm. Yo derespekte kay Bondye renmen anpil la. Mesye yo marye ak fanm k'ap sèvi lòt bondye.
12 May Yahweh, cut off, from the man that doeth it—him that crieth out and him that answereth, out of the tents of Jacob, — him also that bringeth near a present to Yahweh of hosts.
Tout moun ki fè bagay sa a, se pou Seyè a pa kite yo jwenn yon moun nan fanmi Jakòb la pou kanpe pou yo osinon pou fè ofrann bay Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a pou yo.
13 And, this, a second time, will ye do, covering with tears, the altar of Yahweh, weeping and making outcry, —because he will not again turn unto the gift, and receive [it] with acceptance, at your hands?
Men yon lòt bagay nou fè ankò: N'ap benyen lotèl Seyè a ak dlo ki sot nan je nou. N'ap kriye, n'ap plenyen paske Seyè a pa menm gade ofrann nou fè l' yo, li derefize asepte anyen nan men nou.
14 Yet ye say, For what cause? Because, Yahweh, hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, with whom, thou, hast dealt treacherously, though, she, was thy consort, and thy covenant wife.
Epi n'ap mande poukisa? Se paske Seyè a wè sa ou fè madanm ou te marye lè ou te jenn lan. Ou pa kenbe pwomès ou te fè l' la. Ou te pase kontra avè l', ou te pwomèt Bondye ou t'ap kenbe l' pou madanm ou pou tout tan.
15 Now was it not, One, [who] made [you] who had, the residue of the spirit? What, then, of that One? He was seeking a godly seed. Therefore should ye take heed to your spirit, and, with the wife of thy youth, do not thou deal treacherously.
Eske Bondye pa t' fè nou tounen yon sèl kò ak yon sèl nanm? Poukisa li te fè sa? Se pou nou te ka fè pitit ki pou sèvi l'. Konsa, fè respè tèt nou! Respekte pwomès nou te fè madanm nou te marye lè nou te jenn lan.
16 For he hateth divorce, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, him also who covereth with violence his own clothing, saith Yahweh of hosts, —therefore should ye take heed to your spirit, and not deal treacherously.
Mwen rayi wè lè mouche separe ak madanm. Se Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, ki di sa. Mwen rayi wè moun k'ap aji mal konsa ak madanm yo. Se poutèt sa, fè respè tèt nou! Kenbe pwomès nou te fè madanm nou.
17 Ye have wearied Yahweh with your words, and yet ye say, Wherein have we been wearisome? When ye have said, Everyone who doeth wrong, is right in the eyes of Yahweh, and, in them, he hath taken delight, or, Where is the God of justice?
N'ap fatige tèt Seyè a ak yon bann pawòl. Epi n'ap di: Ki jan n'ap fatige l' la? Se lè n'ap plede di: Tout moun ki fè sa ki mal yo bon nan je Seyè a. Li kontan ak yo. Ou ankò lè n'ap mande: Kote Bondye k'ap rann jistis la?
