< Luke 7 >

1 After he had completed all his sayings within the hearing of the people, he entered into Capernaum.

4 And, they, coming near unto Jesus, began beseeching him earnestly, saying—Worthy, is he for whom thou mayest do this,
Abo balatumwa balashika kuli Yesu, balamusenga camakasa abili kwambeti, “Kamubonani uyu muntu mwelela kumunyafwa,
5 for he loveth our nation, and, the synagogue, he, built for us.
pakwinga usuni mushobo wetu kayi walatwibakila ng'anda yakupaililamo.”
6 And, Jesus, was journeying with them. But, he, by this time, being not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying unto him—Lord! do not trouble thyself, for I am of no consideration, that, under my roof, thou shouldst enter.
Lino Yesu walaya nabo. Mpwalashika pepi ne ng'anda, mukulene wa bashilikali walatuma banendi kuli Yesu kuya kumwambileti, “Mwami, mutalishupa, pakwinga ame nkandelela kwambeti amwe mwingile mung'anda yakame.
7 Wherefore, neither deemed I, myself, worthy to come unto thee, —but speak with a word, and let my servant be healed.
Weco ndiya kulibikapo kuba walulama kwisa kuli njamwe. Nomba mwambowa maswi musha wakame nabe cena.
8 For, I too, am a man ranked, under authority, having, under myself, soldiers; and I say to this one—Go! and he goeth, —and to another—Come! and he cometh, —and to my servant—Do this! and he doeth it.
Pakwinga nenjame nkute kukonkela milawo yabamakulene pancinto kayi nkute bashilikali mbonkute kutangunina. Na ndamwambili mushilikali eti, koya, neye ukute kuya. Na ndamwambili mushilikali eti, Kwesa, neye ukute kwisa, Na ndamwambili musha wakame eti, insa ici, neye ukute kwinsa.”
9 And, hearing these things, Jesus marvelled at him; and, turning to the multitude following him, said—I tell you, Not even in Israel, such faith as this, have I found!
Yesu mpwalanyumfweco, walakankamana. Lino walalanga kubantu bangi abo balikumukonkela ne kwambeti, “Cakubinga ndiya kubonapo lushomo lwamushoboyu pakati paba Isilaeli sobwe!”
10 And they who were sent, returning unto the house, found the servant, well.
Balatumwa basa balabwelela kung'anda, nekuya akucana musha uyo laba cena.
11 And it came to pass thereafter, that he journeyed unto a city called Nain, and there were journeying with him, his disciples and a great multitude.
Kufumapo Yesu walaya mumunshi umbi ukute kukwiweti Naini. Beshikwiya bakendi nelikoto lya bantu balaya nendi.
12 Now, as he drew near unto the gate of the city, then lo! there was being brought forth, one dead, the only-begotten son of his mother, —and, she, was a widow; and, a considerable multitude of the city, was with her.
Yesu mpwalashika pepi ne munshi, walakumanya bantu kabali banyamuna citumbi, ca mutuloba wafwa walikuba emwana enka kuli banyina bamuka lubingi. Bantu bangi ba mumunshi balikuba pamo ne mukalubingi.
13 And, beholding her, the Lord, was moved with compassion over her, and said to her—Be not weeping!
Yesu mpwalabona mukalubingi uyo walamunyumfwila inkumbo ne kumwambileti, “Kocileka kulila.”
14 And, going forward, he touched the coffin, and the bearers stood still; and he said—Young man! to thee, I say, Arise!
Yesu walashika kuntangu ne kwikata citumbi ico, Lino balikuba bamanta citumbi ico balemana. Kayi kufumapo walambeti, “Obe mwana mutuloba ndakwambilingeti, punduka!”
15 And the dead man sat up, and began to speak; and he gave him to his mother.
Mwana mutuloboyo walikuba wafwa walapunduka nekwikala, walatatika kwamba. Lino Yesu walamubwesha kuli banyina.
16 And fear seized them, all, and they began to glorify God, saying—A great prophet, hath been raised up amongst us! and—God hath visited his people!
Nomba bantu bonse balatina, popelapo balalumbaisha Lesa kabambeti, “Mushinshimi mukulene labonekele pakati petu, kayi Lesa wesa akupulusha bantu bakendi.”
17 And this report went forth throughout the whole of Judaea, and all the surrounding country.
Kufumapo lulumbi lwa Yesu yalamwaika mucishi conse ca Yudeya kayi ne bishi byonse byalikuba byashunguluka.
18 And John’s disciples carried tidings unto him concerning all these things.
Beshikwiya ba Yohane balamwambila byonse. Lino Yohane walakuwa babili pa beshikwiya bakendi,
19 And, calling unto him certain two of his disciples, John sent unto the Lord, saying—Art, thou, the Coming One, or, a different one, are we to expect?
ne kubatuma kuli Mwami Yesu kuya kwipusheti, “Sena njamwe ngwalamba Yohane eti lesanga nambi tulangilile naumbi?”
20 And, coming near unto him, the men said—John the Immerser, hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art, thou, the Coming One, or, another, are we to expect?
Balatumwa abo mpobalashika kuli Yesu, balamwambileti, “Yohane mubatishi latutumu kwambeti twipushe na njamwe uyo lesanga nambi tulangililenga naumbi?”
21 In that very hour, he cured many from diseases, and plagues, and wicked spirits; and, unto many blind, gave he the favour to see.
Pacindico Yesu walikashilika malwashi abantu bangi apusana pusana, bamapensho ne kufunya mishimu yaipa kayi walasengula bampofu bangi.
22 And, answering, he said unto them—Go and bear tidings unto John, as to what ye have seen and heard: The blind, are receiving sight, the lame, walk, lepers, are cleansed, and, the deaf, hear, the dead, are raised, the destitute, are told the glad-message;
Lino Yesu walakumbula beshikwiya ba Yohane eti, “Kamuyani mumwambile Yohane byonse mbyomulabono ne kunyufwa, bampofu balabononga, balema myendo balendenga, beshimankuntu balabanga cena, bashinka matwi balanyufunga, bafu balapundukunga kayi bapenga balanyumfunga Mulumbe Waina.
23 And, happy, is he, whosoever shall not find occasion of stumbling in me!
Walelekwa muntu uyo labulunga kutonshanya pali njame.”
24 And, the messengers of John having departed, he began to say unto the multitudes, concerning John—What went ye forth into the desert to gaze at? A reed, by a wind, shaken?
Lino beshikwiya bakendi Yohane mpobalaya, Yesu walatatika kwambila bantu bangi balikubapo sha makani a Yohane mubatishi eti, “Mpomwalaya akubona Yohane mucinyika mwalikuyeyeti ulyeti cani? Sena mwalikuyeyeti Yohane uliya ngofu eti litete likute kutenkanowa ne mpepo?
25 But what went ye forth to see? A man, in soft garments, arrayed? Lo! they who in splendid apparel and luxury are found, are, in the kingly courts.
Nomba mwalikuyeyeti Yohane ulyeti cani? Sena nimuntu walikuba wafwala byakufwala byaina? Sobwe bantu beshi kufwala byaina, bakute kusuna malyalya nekwikala mumanda abami.
26 But what went ye forth to see? A prophet? Yea! I say unto you, —and abundantly more than a prophet.
Kamung'ambila, nicani ncomwalaya akubona? Sena mwalikuyeyeti Yohane nimushinshimi? Ee, ndamwambilinga cakubinga kwambeti mwalabona wapita mushinshimi.
27 This, is he concerning whom it is written—Lo! I am sending forth my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee.
Pakwinga Yohane ewuyo walambwa mumabala a Lesa, Lesa walambeti, “Ninkatume mutumwa wakame kuntangu kwakobe kwambeti akakubambile nshila.”
28 I say unto you—A greater, among them that are born of women, than John, is there none; but, he that is least in the kingdom of God, is greater than he.
“Ndamwambilinga kufuma keendi kuliyawa kubapo muntu wapita Yohane, nsombi usa mung'ana mu Bwami bwa Lesa emukulene kupita endiye.”
29 And, all the people, when they heard, and the tax-collectors, justified God, having been immersed with the immersion of John;
Bantu bonse ne beshikusonkesha misonko balanyumfwa kukambauka kwa Yohane, mpobalabatishiwa balasumina kwambeti Lesa walulama.
30 but, the Pharisees and the lawyers, had set aside, the counsel of God against themselves, not being immersed by him.
Nsombi Bafalisi ne beshikwiyisha Milawo pakukana kubatishiwa ne Yohane, balakana ncalikuyanda kubenshila Lesa.
31 Unto what, then, shall I liken the men of this generation? And unto what are they like?
Yesu walapitilisha kwambeti, “Anu bantu ba cino cindi ngandi bakoshanisha ne cani? Anu balyeti cani?”
32 They are like unto the children sitting, in a market-place, and calling one to another, who say—We played the flute for you, and ye danced not, We wailed, and ye wept not.
Balyeti batwanike bekala pabusena bwakulishilapo kabolobeshanyeti, “Twalamulilishila ngoma, amwe muliya kushana! ‘Twalamwimbila inyimbo sha malila amwe muliya kulila!’
33 For John the Immerser hath come, neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and ye say—A demon, he hath:
“Pakwinga Yohane mubatishi walesa nkalikanisha kulya kayi nkali kunwapo waini, nomba amwe mwalambeti, ‘Ukute mushimu waipa.’
34 The Son of Man hath come, eating and drinking, and ye say—Lo! a man, gluttonous and a wine-drinker, a friend of tax-collectors and sinners.
Lino Mwana Muntu mpwalesa walatatika kulya ne kunwa, amwe mwalambeti, kamubonani ni weshikulyowa nekukolwa, kayi banendi ni beshimisonko kayi ne babwipishi.
35 And yet wisdom hath been justified by all her children.
Nsombi mano a Lesa akute kubonekela kuba ancine ncine kuli bonse bakute kwatambula.”
36 And a certain one of the Pharisees was requesting him, that he would eat with him; and, entering into the house of the Pharisee, he reclined.
Mufalisi naumbi walakuwa Yesu eti ayenga akulya nendiye. Lino Yesu walaya akwingila mung'anda nekwikala pakulyela.
37 And, lo! a woman, who indeed was in the city a sinner; and, when she found out that he was reclining in the house of the Pharisee, providing an alabaster-jar of perfume,
Mu munshi uwu mwalikuba mutukashi wabwikalo bwaipa. Mpwalanyumfweti Yesu lalinga mung'anda ya Mufalisi uyo, walamanta kankuli kesula mafuta anunkila cena.
38 and standing behind, near his feet, weeping, with the tears, began she to be wetting his feet, and, with the hair of her head, was wiping off [the tears], and was tenderly kissing his feet, and anointing them with the perfume.
Walashika nekusuntama kunyuma kwa Yesu, pepi ne myendo kalila. Walatontosha myendo bya Yesu ne misoshi yakendi ne kutatika kwipukuta ne mishishi yakendi, nekumyanguta bimpanta bya Yessu ne kutatika kumunanika mafuta ayo.
39 But the Pharisee who had invited him, seeing it, spake within himself, saying, This one, if he were the prophet, would have been taking note, who and of what sort, is the woman, who is even touching him, that she is, a sinner.
Lino Mufalisi usa walakuwa Yesu mpwalaboneco, walatatika kuyeyeti, “Muntu uyu nabanga mushinshimi wancincine nalenshibi mbuli ncabele mutukashi uyu lamwikatanga pakwinga nkamwisheti nimwipishi.”
40 And, making answer, Jesus said unto him—Simon! I have, unto thee, something to say. He, then—Teacher, speak!—saith he.
Lino Yesu walamwambileti, “Shimoni nkute byakukwambila.” Shimoni walakumbuleti, “Beshikwiyisha kamwambani”
41 Two debtors, there were, to a certain creditor, —the one, owed five hundred denaries, and, the other, fifty.
Yesu walambeti, “Palikuba bantu babili balabweleka mali ku muntu. Umo walabweleka myanda isanu ya mali, naumbi mali makumi asanu.
42 they not having wherewith to pay, he forgave, both. Which of them, therefore, will love him, more?
Mpocalashika cindi ca kubwesha, bonse babili balalilwa kubwesha nkongole, lino walabalekelela. Nomba pabantu babili basa, nupeyo shikubwelekesha mali ngweshakasune cikamba?”
43 Making answer, Simon said—I suppose, that he to whom, the more, he forgave. And, he, said unto him—Rightly, hast thou judged.
Shimoni walakumbuleti, “Ame ndayeyengeti uyo walabweleka mali angi,” Yesu walamwambileti, “Ulakumbulu cena.”
44 And, turning towards the woman, unto Simon, he said—Seest thou this woman? I entered into thy house: water to me, on my feet, thou didst not give, —but, she, with her tears, hath wetted my feet, and, with her hair, wiped off [the tears].
Lino walalanga kumuntukashi usa ne kumwambila Shimoni eti, “Sena ulabono mutukashi uyu? Mpondashiki mung'anda yakobe uliyawa kumpapo menshi akusamba kumyendo. Nsombi nendi lasambishi myendo yakame nemishoshi yakendi nekwipukuta ne mishishi yakendi.
45 A kiss, to me, thou didst not give, —but, she, from the time I came in, hath not ceased tenderly kissing my feet.
Obe uliyawa kumyanguta pakumpa mutende, nsombi nendi kufuma mpondeshili mung'anda liya kucilekapo kumyanguta myendo yakame.
46 With oil, my head, thou didst not anoint, —but, she, with perfume, hath anointed, my feet.
Bona mondeshili uliyawa kunanikapo mafuta mumutwi, nsombi uyu lananiki mafuta anunkila cena kubimpanta.
47 For which cause, I say unto thee—Her many sins, have been forgiven, because she hath loved, much: but, he to whom little is forgiven, little, loveth.
Ndakwambilinga cancine ncine, kuyandishisha kunene nkwalandeshe, cilaleshengeti bwipishi bwakendi bwingi bulalekelelwa. Nomba muntu lalekelelwa bwipishi bung'ana ukute kusuna pang'ana.”
48 And he said unto her—Thy sins have been forgiven.
Kufumapo Yesu walamwambila mutukashi uyo eti, “Bwipishi bwakobe bulalekelelwa.”
49 And they who were reclining together, began to be saying within themselves—Who is, this, that, even forgiveth sins?
Lino abo bali kabalya pamo ne Yesu balatatika kwipushanyeti, “Anu niyani muntu uyu weshi kulekelela ne bwipishi?”
50 But he said unto the woman—Thy faith, hath saved thee, —Go thy way into peace.
Lino Yesu walambila mutukashi uyo eti, “Lushomo lwakobe lulakupulushu, koya mulumuno.”
