Luke 11
1 And it came to pass, when he was in a certain place praying, as he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him—Lord! teach us to pray, as, John also, taught his disciples.
Ilitokea wakati Yesu alipokuwa anaomba mahali fulani, mmoja wa mwanafunzi wake alimwambia, “Bwana, tufundishe sisi kuomba kama Yohana alivyo wafundisha wanafunzi wake'.
2 And he said unto them—Whensoever ye are praying, say—Father! Hallowed be thy name, Come may thy kingdom,
Yesu akawaambia, Msalipo, semeni, 'Baba, Jina lako litakazwe. Ufalme wako uje.
3 Our needful bread, be giving us, day by day;
Utupe mkate wetu wa kila siku.
4 And forgive us our sins, for, even we ourselves, forgive every one indebted to us; And bring us not into temptation.
Utusamehe makosa yetu, kama nasi tunavyowasamehe wote waliotukosea. Usituongoze katika majaribu.”
5 And he said unto them—Who from among you, shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him—Friend! supply me with three loaves,
Yesu akawaambia, “Ni nani kwenu atakuwa na rafiki, ambaye atamuendea usiku, na kumwambia, Rafiki niazime mikate mitatu.
6 forasmuch as, a friend of mine, hath come off a journey unto me, and I have not what I can set before him;
Kwa sababu rafiki yangu amenijia sasa hivi kutoka safarini, nami sina cha kumuandalia.'
7 and, he, from within, shall answer, and say—Be not disturbing me, —already, the door hath been fastened, and, my children, with me, are, in bed: I cannot rise and give thee?
Na yule aliyeko ndani akamjibu, usinitaabishe, Mlango umekwisha kufungwa, na watoto wangu, pamoja nami tumekwisha kulala kitandani. Siwezi kuamka na kukupa wewe mikate.
8 I say unto you—Even though he will not give him, rising because of his being a friend of his, because, at least, of his importunity, he will rouse himself, and give him as many as he needeth.
Nawaambia, japo kuwa haamki na kukupatia mikate kama rafiki yake, kwa sababu ya kuendelea kumgongea bila aibu, ataamka na kukupatia vipande vingi vya mikate kulingana na mahitaji yako.
9 I, therefore, unto you, say—Be asking, and it shall be given to you, Be seeking, and ye shall find, —Be knocking, and it shall be opened unto you.
Nami pia nawaambieni, Ombeni, nanyi mtapewa; tafuteni, nanyi mtapata, pigeni hodi nanyi mtafunguliwa.
10 For, whosoever asketh, receiveth, and, he that seeketh, findeth, —and, to him that knocketh, shall it be opened.
Kwa kuwa kila mtu aombaye atapokea, na kila mtu atafutaye atapata, na kila mtu apigaye hodi, mlango utafunguliwa kwake.
11 But which is the father, from among yourselves, whom the son will ask for, a fish, who, instead of a fish, will give him, a serpent?
Ni baba yupi miongoni mwenu, mwanaye akimuomba samaki atampa nyoka badala yake?
12 Or shall also ask, an egg, who will give him, a scorpion?
Au akimuomba yai atampa nge badala yake?
13 If therefore, ye, being, evil, know how to be giving, good gifts, unto your children, how much rather, will, the heavenly Father, give Holy Spirit unto them that ask him!
Kwa hiyo, ikiwa ninyi mlio waovu mnajuwa kuwapa watoto wenu zawadi nzuri, je si zaidi sana Baba yenu wa mbinguni kwamba atawapa Roho Mtakatifu hao wamuombao?”
14 And he was casting out a demon that was dumb; and it came to pass, when the demon went out, the dumb began speaking. And the multitudes marvelled;
Baadaye, Yesu akawa anakemea pepo, na mtu mwenye pepo alikuwa bubu. Ikawa pepo lilipomtoka, mtu huyo aliweza kuongea. Umati wakastaajabu sana.
15 but, some from among them, said—In Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons, is he casting out the demons;
Lakii watu wengine wakasema, huyu anaondo mapepo kwa Beelzebul, mkuu wa mapepo
16 and, others, putting him to the test, a sign out of heaven, were seeking from him.
Wengine walimjaribu na kumtaka awaonyeshe ishara kutoka mbinguni.
17 But, he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them—Every kingdom, against itself divided, is laid waste, and, a house, against a house, [divided], falleth;
Lakini Yesu aliyatambua mawazo yao na kuwaambia, “Kila ufalme utakaogawanyika itakuwa ukiwa, na nyumba iliyo gawanyika itaanguka.
18 And, if, even Satan, against himself hath become divided, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye are saying that, in Beelzebul, am I casting out the demons.
Kama Shetani atakuwa amegawanyika, ufalme wake utasimamaje? Kwa sababu mwasema natoa mapepo kwa Belzebuli
19 But, if, I, in Beelzebul, am casting out the demons, In whom are, your sons, casting them out? Wherefore, they, shall be, your judges.
Kama mimi natoa mapepo kwa Belzebuli, je wenzenu wanatoa mapepo kwa njia gani? Kwa sababu hii, wao watawahukumu ninyi.
20 But, if, with the finger of God, I, am casting out the demons, then doubtless unawares hath come upon you, the kingdom of God.
Lakini, kama natoa mapepo kwa kidole cha Mungu, basi uflame wa Mungu umewajia.
21 Whensoever, the mighty one, armed, may be guarding his own dwelling, in peace, are his goods;
Mtu mwenye nguvu aliye na silaha akilinda nyumba yake, vitu vyake vitakaa salama.
22 But, whensoever, a mightier than he, shall come upon and vanquish him, his panoply, he taketh away, wherein he was trusting, and, his spoils, he distributeth.
Lakini akivamiwa na mtu mwenye nguvu zaidi, Yule mtu mwenye nguvu atamnyang'anya silaha zake, na kuzichukua mali zake zote.
23 He that is not with me, is, against me; and, he that gathereth not with me, scattereth.
Yeye asiye pamoja nami yuko kinyume nami, na yeye asiyekusanya pamoja nami hutapanya.
24 Whensoever, the impure spirit, goeth out from the man, it passeth through waterless places, seeking rest; and, not finding it, [then, ] it saith, I will return unto my house, whence I came out; —
Pepo mchafu amtokapo mtu, huenda na kutafuta mahali pasipo na maji ili ajipumzishe. Atakapokuwa amekosa, husema, 'nitarudi nilipotoka.
25 and, coming, findeth it, [empty, ] swept, and adorned.
Akirudi na kukuta nyumba imefagiliwa na imekaa vizuri.
26 Then, goeth it, and taketh along with itself, other spirits, more wicked than itself—seven, and, entering in, fixeth its dwelling there; and, the last state of that man, becometh, worse than the first.
Hivyo huenda na kutafuta mapepo saba walio waovu kuliko yeye mwenyewe na kuwaleta waje wakae mahali pale. Na hali ya mtu huyo huwa mbaya kuliko ilivyokuwa mara ya kwanza.”
27 Now it came to pass, while he was saying these things, that a certain woman out of the multitude, lifting up her voice, said unto him—Happy the womb that bare thee! And the breasts which thou didst suck!
Ilitokea kwamba alipokuwa akisema maneno hayo, mwanamke fulani alipasa sauti yake zaidi ya wote kwanye mkutano wa watu na kusema “Limebarikiwa tumbo lililo kuzaa na matiti uliyoyanyonya”
28 But, he, said—Yea rather!—Happy they who hear the word of God, and observe it!
Lakini yeye akasema, wamebarikiwa wale wasikio neno la Mungu na kulitunza.
29 And, as the multitudes were thronging together, he began to be saying—This generation, is, a wicked generation: A sign, it is seeking, and, a sign, shall not be given it, save the sign of Jonah.
Wakati umati wa watu wanakusanyika na kuongezeka, Yesu akaanza kusema “Kizazi hiki ni kizazi cha uovu. Hutafuta ishara, na hakuna ishara watayopewa zaidi ya ile ishara ya Yona.
30 For, according as, Jonah, became, unto the Ninevites, a sign, so, shall be, the Son of Man also, unto this generation.
Maana kama Yona alivyokuwa ishara kwa watu wa Ninawi, ndivyo na Mwana wa Adamu atakavyokuwa ishara kwa kizazi hiki
31 The queen of the south, will rise up, in the judgment, with the men of this generation, and will condemn them; because she came out of the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, —and lo! something more than Solomon, here.
Malkia wa Kusini atasimama siku ya hukumu na watu wa kizazi hiki na kuwahukumu wao, kwani yeye alitoka katika mwisho wa nchi ili aje asikilize hekima za Solomoni, na hapa yuko aliye mkuu kuliko Solomoni.
32 Men of Nineveh, will rise up, in the judgment, with this generation, and will condemn it; because they repented into the proclamation of Jonah, —and lo! something more than Jonah, here.
Watu wa Ninawi watasimama katika hukumu pamoja na watu wa kizazi hiki siku ya hukumu watakihukumu, kwani wao walitubu kwa mahubiri ya Yona, na tazama, hapa yuko aliye mkuu kuliko Yona.
33 No one, having lighted, a lamp, into a covered place, a putteth it, nor, under the measure; but upon the lampstand, that they who enter may see, the light.
Hakuna Mtu yeyote, awashaye taa na kuiweka sehemu ya chini yenye giza isiyoonekana au chini ya kikapu, ila huwasha na kuweka juu ya kitu ili kila mtu aingiaye aweze kuona mwanga.
34 The lamp of thy body, is thine eye: Whensoever, thine eye, may be, single, even the whole of thy body, is, lighted up; but, whensoever it may be, useless, even thy body, is darkened.
Jicho lako ni taa ya mwili. Jicho lako likiwa zuri basi mwili wako wote utakuwa kwenye mwanga. Lakini jicho lako likiwa baya basi mwili wako wote utakuwa kwenye giza.
35 Be looking to it, therefore, lest, the light that is in thee, be, darkness.
Kwa hiyo, mjihadhari ili mwanga ulio ndani yenu usitiwe giza.
36 If, therefore, thy whole body, is lighted up, not having any part darkened, the whole, shall be lighted up, as whensoever, the lamp, with its radiance, may be giving thee light.
Hivyo basi, kama mwili wako wote uko kwenye mwanga, na hakuna sehemu iliyo katika giza, basi mwili wako utakuwa sawa na taa iwakayo na kutoa mwanga kwenu.”
37 And, when he had spoken, a Pharisee was requesting him that he would dine with him; and, entering, he reclined.
Alipomaliza kuongea, Farisayo alimwalika akale chakula nyumbani kwake, naye Yesu akaingia ndani na kuwa pamoja nao.
38 And, the Pharisee, beholding, marvelled that he was not, first, immersed, before the dinner.
Na Mafarisayo wakashangaa kwa jinsi ambavyo hakunawa kwanza kabla ya chakula cha jioni.
39 And the Lord said unto him: Now, ye, the Pharisees, the outside of the cup and of the tray, do make pure; but, your inward part, is full of plunder and wickedness.
Lakini Bwana akawaambia, “Ninyi Mafarisayo mnaosha nje ya vikombe na bakuli, lakini ndani yenu mmejaa tamaa na uovu.
40 Simple ones! Did not, he who made the outside, the inside also, make?
Ninyi watu msio na ufahamu, Je yeye aliyeumba nje hakuumba na ndani pia?
41 Notwithstanding, as to the things within, give alms, and lo! everything, is, pure unto you.
Wapeni masikini yaliyo ndani, na mambo yote yatakuwa safi kwenu.
42 But alas for you, the Pharisees! because ye tithe the mint, and the rue, and every garden herb, and pass by justice, and the love of God. But, these things, it was binding to do, and, those, not to pass by.
Lakini ole wenu Mafarisayo, kwani mnatoa zaka ya mnanaa na mchicha na kila aina ya mboga ya bustani. Lakini mmeacha mambo ya haki na kumpenda Mungu. Ni muhimu zaidi kufanya yaliyo ya haki na kumpenda Mungu, bila kuacha kufanya na hayo mengine pia.
43 Alas for you, the Pharisees! because ye love the first seats in the synagogues, and the salutations in the market-places!
Ole wenu Mafarisayo, kwa kuwa mnapenda kukaa katika viti vya mbele kwenye masinagogi na kuamkiwa kwa salamu za heshima sokoni.
44 Alas for you! because ye are as the secret tombs: even the men that are walking above them, know it not.
Ole wenu, kwani mnafanana na makaburi yasiyo na alama ambayo watu hutembea juu yake pasipokujua.”
45 And, making answer, one of the Lawyers saith unto him, Teacher! these things, saying, us also, dost thou insult!
Mwalimu mmoja wa sheria za Kiyahudi akamjibu na kumwambia, “Mwalimu, unachokisema kinatuudhi pia sisi.”
46 And, he, said—And, for you, the lawyers, alas! because ye lade men with burdens hard to be borne, and, yourselves, with one of your fingers, touch not the burdens.
Yesu akasema, “Ole wenu, waalimu wa sheria! kwani mnawapa watu mizigo mikubwa wasiyoweza kuibeba, walakini ninyi hamgusi mizigo hiyo hata kwa moja ya vidole vyenu.
47 Alas for you! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers slew them!
Ole wenu, kwa sababu mnajenga na kuweka kumbukumbu kwenye makaburi ya manabii' ambao waliuwawa na mababu zenu.
48 Hence, witnesses, are ye, and find consenting pleasure in the works of your fathers: because, they, indeed, slew them, and, ye, are building, [their tombs].
Hivyo ninyi mwashuhudia na kukubaliana na kazi walizozifanya mababu zenu, kwa sababu hakika waliwauwa manabii ambao mnajenga kumbukumbu katika makaburi yao.
49 For this cause, the Wisdom of God hath said—I will send forth, unto them, prophets and apostles, —and, some from among them, will they slay, and, [some] persecute:
Kwa sababu hiyo pia, hekima ya Mungu inasema, 'Nitawatumia manabii na mitume nao watawatesa na kuwaua baadhi yao.
50 That the blood of all the prophets which hath been shed from the foundation of the world, may be sought out, from this generation, —
Kizazi hiki kitawajibika kwa damu ya manabii waliouawa tangu kuanza kwa dunia,
51 From the blood of Abel, unto the blood of Zachariah who was destroyed betwixt the altar and the house; Yea! I say unto you—It shall be sought out from this generation.
Kutoka damu ya Abeli hadi damu ya Zakaria, aliyeuawa katikati ya madhabahu na patakatifu. Ndiyo, nawaambia ninyi, kizazi hiki kitawajibika.
52 Alas for you, the lawyers! because ye took away the key of knowledge: yourselves, entered not, and, them who were entering, ye hindered.
Ole wenu waalimu wa sheria za Kiyahudi, kwa sababu mmechukua funguo za ufahamu; nyie wenyewe hamuingii, na wale wanaotaka kuingia mnawazuia.”
53 And, when, from thence, he came out, the Scribes and the Pharisees began, with vehemence, to be hemming him in, and trying to make him speak off-hand concerning many things, —
Baada ya Yesu kuondoka pale, Waandishi na Mafarisayo walimpinga na kubishana naye juu ya mambo mengi.
54 lying in wait for him, to catch something out of his mouth.
wakijaribu kumnsana kwa maneno yake.
