Luke 11
1 And it came to pass, when he was in a certain place praying, as he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him—Lord! teach us to pray, as, John also, taught his disciples.
അവൻ ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തു പ്രാൎത്ഥിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; തീൎന്നശേഷം ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ അവനോടു: കൎത്താവേ, യോഹന്നാൻ തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ പഠിപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഞങ്ങളെയും പ്രാൎത്ഥിപ്പാൻ പഠിപ്പിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
2 And he said unto them—Whensoever ye are praying, say—Father! Hallowed be thy name, Come may thy kingdom,
അവൻ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നിങ്ങൾ പ്രാൎത്ഥിക്കുമ്പോൾ ചൊല്ലേണ്ടിയതു: [സ്വൎഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ ഞങ്ങളുടെ] പിതാവേ, നിന്റെ നാമം വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെടേണമേ; നിന്റെ രാജ്യം വരേണമേ; [നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം സ്വൎഗ്ഗത്തിലെപ്പോലെ ഭൂമിയിലും ആകേണമേ; ]
3 Our needful bread, be giving us, day by day;
ഞങ്ങൾക്കു ആവശ്യമുള്ള ആഹാരം ദിനംപ്രതി തരേണമേ.
4 And forgive us our sins, for, even we ourselves, forgive every one indebted to us; And bring us not into temptation.
ഞങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങളെ ഞങ്ങളോടു ക്ഷമിക്കേണമേ; ഞങ്ങൾക്കു കടംപെട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഏവനോടും ഞങ്ങളും ക്ഷമിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളെ പരീക്ഷയിൽ കടത്തരുതേ: [ദുഷ്ടങ്കൽനിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ വിടുവിക്കേണമേ.]
5 And he said unto them—Who from among you, shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him—Friend! supply me with three loaves,
പിന്നെ അവൻ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നിങ്ങളിൽ ആൎക്കെങ്കിലും ഒരു സ്നേഹതിൻ ഉണ്ടു എന്നിരിക്കട്ടെ; അവൻ അൎദ്ധരാത്രിക്കു അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു: സ്നേഹിതാ, എനിക്കു മൂന്നപ്പം വായ്പ തരേണം;
6 forasmuch as, a friend of mine, hath come off a journey unto me, and I have not what I can set before him;
എന്റെ ഒരു സ്നേഹിതൻ വഴിയാത്രയിൽ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു; അവന്നു വിളമ്പിക്കൊടുപ്പാൻ എന്റെ പക്കൽ ഏതും ഇല്ല എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞാൽ:
7 and, he, from within, shall answer, and say—Be not disturbing me, —already, the door hath been fastened, and, my children, with me, are, in bed: I cannot rise and give thee?
എന്നെ പ്രയാസപ്പെടുത്തരുതു; കതകു അടെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; പൈതങ്ങളും എന്നോടുകൂടെ കിടക്കുന്നു; എഴുന്നേറ്റു തരുവാൻ എനിക്കു കഴികയില്ല എന്നു അകത്തുനിന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞാലും
8 I say unto you—Even though he will not give him, rising because of his being a friend of his, because, at least, of his importunity, he will rouse himself, and give him as many as he needeth.
അവൻ സ്നേഹിതാനാകകൊണ്ടു എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവന്നു കൊടുക്കയില്ലെങ്കിലും അവൻ ലജ്ജകൂടാതെ മുട്ടിക്കനിമിത്തം എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവന്നു വേണ്ടുന്നെടത്തോളം കൊടുക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
9 I, therefore, unto you, say—Be asking, and it shall be given to you, Be seeking, and ye shall find, —Be knocking, and it shall be opened unto you.
യാചിപ്പിൻ, എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കിട്ടും; അന്വേഷിപ്പിൻ, എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ കണ്ടെത്തും; മുട്ടുവിൻ എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തുറക്കും.
10 For, whosoever asketh, receiveth, and, he that seeketh, findeth, —and, to him that knocketh, shall it be opened.
യാചിക്കുന്നവന്നു ഏവന്നും ലഭിക്കുന്നു; അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവൻ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു; മുട്ടുന്നവന്നു തുറക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
11 But which is the father, from among yourselves, whom the son will ask for, a fish, who, instead of a fish, will give him, a serpent?
എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങളിൽ ഒരു അപ്പനോടു മകൻ അപ്പം ചോദിച്ചാൽ അവന്നു കല്ലു കൊടുക്കുമോ? അല്ല, മീൻ ചോദിച്ചാൽ മീനിന്നു പകരം പാമ്പിനെ കൊടുക്കുമോ?
12 Or shall also ask, an egg, who will give him, a scorpion?
മുട്ട ചോദിച്ചാൽ തേളിനെ കൊടുക്കുമോ?
13 If therefore, ye, being, evil, know how to be giving, good gifts, unto your children, how much rather, will, the heavenly Father, give Holy Spirit unto them that ask him!
അങ്ങനെ ദോഷികളായ നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കൾക്കു നല്ല ദാനങ്ങളെ കൊടുപ്പാൻ അറിയുന്നു എങ്കിൽ സ്വൎഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ പിതാവു തന്നോടു യാചിക്കുന്നവൎക്കു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനെ എത്ര അധികം കൊടുക്കും.
14 And he was casting out a demon that was dumb; and it came to pass, when the demon went out, the dumb began speaking. And the multitudes marvelled;
ഒരിക്കൽ അവൻ ഊമയായോരു ഭൂതത്തെ പുറത്താക്കി. ഭൂതം വിട്ടുപോയശേഷം ഊമൻ സംസാരിച്ചു, പുരുഷാരം ആശ്ചൎയ്യപെട്ടു.
15 but, some from among them, said—In Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons, is he casting out the demons;
അവരിൽ ചിലരോ: ഭൂതങ്ങളുടെ തലവനായ ബെയെത്സെബൂലെക്കൊണ്ടാകുന്നു അവൻ ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
16 and, others, putting him to the test, a sign out of heaven, were seeking from him.
വേറെ ചിലർ അവനെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു ഒരടയാളം അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.
17 But, he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them—Every kingdom, against itself divided, is laid waste, and, a house, against a house, [divided], falleth;
അവൻ അവരുടെ വിചാരം അറിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: തന്നിൽതന്നേ ഛിദ്രിച്ച രാജ്യം എല്ലാം പാഴായ്പോകും; വീടു ഓരോന്നും വീഴും.
18 And, if, even Satan, against himself hath become divided, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye are saying that, in Beelzebul, am I casting out the demons.
സാത്താനും തന്നോടു തന്നേ ഛിദ്രിച്ചു എങ്കിൽ, അവന്റെ രാജ്യം എങ്ങനെ നിലനില്ക്കും? ബെയെത്സെബൂലെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ.
19 But, if, I, in Beelzebul, am casting out the demons, In whom are, your sons, casting them out? Wherefore, they, shall be, your judges.
ഞാൻ ബെയെത്സെബൂലെക്കൊണ്ടു ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കൾ ആരെക്കൊണ്ടു പുറത്താക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ന്യായാധിപതികൾ ആകും.
20 But, if, with the finger of God, I, am casting out the demons, then doubtless unawares hath come upon you, the kingdom of God.
എന്നാൽ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ശക്തികൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ദൈവരാജ്യം നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു സ്പഷ്ടം.
21 Whensoever, the mighty one, armed, may be guarding his own dwelling, in peace, are his goods;
ബലവാൻ ആയുധം ധരിച്ചു തന്റെ അരമന കാക്കുമ്പോൾ അവന്റെ വസ്തുവക ഉറപ്പോടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.
22 But, whensoever, a mightier than he, shall come upon and vanquish him, his panoply, he taketh away, wherein he was trusting, and, his spoils, he distributeth.
അവനിലും ബലവാനായവൻ വന്നു അവനെ ജയിച്ചു എങ്കിലോ അവൻ ആശ്രയിച്ചിരുന്ന സൎവ്വായുധവൎഗ്ഗം പിടിച്ചുപറിച്ചു അവന്റെ കൊള്ള പകുതി ചെയ്യുന്നു.
23 He that is not with me, is, against me; and, he that gathereth not with me, scattereth.
എനിക്കു അനുകൂലമല്ലാത്തവൻ എനിക്കു പ്രതികൂലം ആകുന്നു; എന്നോടുകൂടെ ചേൎക്കാത്തവൻ ചിതറിക്കുന്നു.
24 Whensoever, the impure spirit, goeth out from the man, it passeth through waterless places, seeking rest; and, not finding it, [then, ] it saith, I will return unto my house, whence I came out; —
അശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ വിട്ടുപോയിട്ടു നീരില്ലാത്ത പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ തണുപ്പു തിരഞ്ഞുനടക്കുന്നു. കാണാഞ്ഞിട്ടു: ഞാൻ വിട്ടുപോന്ന വീട്ടിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെല്ലും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ചെന്നു,
25 and, coming, findeth it, [empty, ] swept, and adorned.
അതു അടിച്ചുവാരിയും അലങ്കരിച്ചും കാണുന്നു.
26 Then, goeth it, and taketh along with itself, other spirits, more wicked than itself—seven, and, entering in, fixeth its dwelling there; and, the last state of that man, becometh, worse than the first.
അപ്പോൾ അവൻ പോയി തന്നിലും ദുഷ്ടത ഏറിയ ഏഴു ആത്മാക്കളെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു വരുന്നു; അവയും അതിൽ കടന്നു പാൎത്തിട്ടു ആ മനുഷ്യന്റെ പിന്നത്തെ സ്ഥിതി മുമ്പിലത്തേതിനേക്കാൾ വല്ലാതെയായി ഭവിക്കും.
27 Now it came to pass, while he was saying these things, that a certain woman out of the multitude, lifting up her voice, said unto him—Happy the womb that bare thee! And the breasts which thou didst suck!
ഇതു പറയുമ്പോൾ പുരുഷാരത്തിൽ ഒരു സ്ത്രീ ഉച്ചത്തിൽ അവനോടു: നിന്നെ ചുമന്ന ഉദരവും നീ കുടിച്ച മുലയും ഭാഗ്യമുള്ളവ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
28 But, he, said—Yea rather!—Happy they who hear the word of God, and observe it!
അതിന്നു അവൻ: അല്ല, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വചനം കേട്ടു പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവർ അത്രേ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
29 And, as the multitudes were thronging together, he began to be saying—This generation, is, a wicked generation: A sign, it is seeking, and, a sign, shall not be given it, save the sign of Jonah.
പുരുഷാരം തിങ്ങിക്കൂടിയപ്പോൾ അവൻ പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങിയതു: ഈ തലമുറ ദോഷമുള്ള തലമുറയാകുന്നു; അതു അടയാളം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; യോനയുടെ അടയാളമല്ലാതെ അതിന്നു ഒരു അടയാളവും കൊടുക്കയില്ല.
30 For, according as, Jonah, became, unto the Ninevites, a sign, so, shall be, the Son of Man also, unto this generation.
യോനാ നീനെവേക്കാൎക്കു അടയാളം ആയതുപോലെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ ഈ തലമുറെക്കും ആകും.
31 The queen of the south, will rise up, in the judgment, with the men of this generation, and will condemn them; because she came out of the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, —and lo! something more than Solomon, here.
തെക്കെ രാജ്ഞി ന്യായവിധിയിൽ ഈ തലമുറയിലെ ആളുകളോടു ഒന്നിച്ചു ഉയിൎത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു അവരെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കും; അവൾ ശലോമോന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം കേൾപ്പാൻ ഭൂമിയുടെ അറുതികളിൽനിന്നു വന്നുവല്ലോ. ഇവിടെ ഇതാ, ശലോമോനിലും വലിയവൻ.
32 Men of Nineveh, will rise up, in the judgment, with this generation, and will condemn it; because they repented into the proclamation of Jonah, —and lo! something more than Jonah, here.
നീനെവേക്കാർ ന്യായവിധിയിൽ ഈ തലമുറയോടു ഒന്നിച്ചു എഴുന്നേറ്റു അതിനെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കും; അവർ യോനയുടെ പ്രസംഗം കേട്ടു മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടുവല്ലോ. ഇവിടെ ഇതാ, യോനയിലും വലിയവൻ.
33 No one, having lighted, a lamp, into a covered place, a putteth it, nor, under the measure; but upon the lampstand, that they who enter may see, the light.
വിളക്കു കൊളുത്തീട്ടു ആരും നിലവറയിലോ പറയിൻ കീഴിലോ വെക്കാതെ അകത്തു വരുന്നവർ വെളിച്ചം കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു തണ്ടിന്മേൽ അത്രേ വെക്കുന്നതു.
34 The lamp of thy body, is thine eye: Whensoever, thine eye, may be, single, even the whole of thy body, is, lighted up; but, whensoever it may be, useless, even thy body, is darkened.
ശരീരത്തിന്റെ വിളക്കു കണ്ണാകുന്നു; കണ്ണു ചൊവ്വുള്ളതെങ്കിൽ ശരീരം മുഴുവനും പ്രകാശിതമായിരിക്കും; ദോഷമുള്ളതാകിലോ ശരീരവും ഇരുട്ടുള്ളതു തന്നേ.
35 Be looking to it, therefore, lest, the light that is in thee, be, darkness.
ആകയാൽ നിന്നിലുള്ള വെളിച്ചം ഇരുളാകാതിരിപ്പാൻ നോക്കുക.
36 If, therefore, thy whole body, is lighted up, not having any part darkened, the whole, shall be lighted up, as whensoever, the lamp, with its radiance, may be giving thee light.
നിന്റെ ശരീരം അന്ധകാരമുള്ള അംശം ഒട്ടുമില്ലാതെ മുഴുവനും പ്രകാശിതമായിരുന്നാൽ വിളക്കു തെളക്കംകൊണ്ടു നിന്നെ പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കുംപോലെ അശേഷം പ്രകാശിതമായിരിക്കും.
37 And, when he had spoken, a Pharisee was requesting him that he would dine with him; and, entering, he reclined.
അവൻ സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ ഒരു പരീശൻ തന്നോടുകൂടെ മുത്താഴം കഴിപ്പാൻ അവനെ ക്ഷണിച്ചു; അവനും അകത്തു കടന്നു ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നിരുന്നു.
38 And, the Pharisee, beholding, marvelled that he was not, first, immersed, before the dinner.
മുത്താഴത്തിന്നു മുമ്പേ കുളിച്ചില്ല എന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു പരീശൻ ആശ്ചൎയ്യപ്പെട്ടു.
39 And the Lord said unto him: Now, ye, the Pharisees, the outside of the cup and of the tray, do make pure; but, your inward part, is full of plunder and wickedness.
കൎത്താവു അവനോടു: പരീശന്മാരായ നിങ്ങൾ കിണ്ടികിണ്ണങ്ങളുടെ പുറം വെടിപ്പാക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉള്ളിലോ കവൎച്ചയും ദുഷ്ടതയും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
40 Simple ones! Did not, he who made the outside, the inside also, make?
മൂഢന്മാരേ, പുറം ഉണ്ടാക്കിയവൻ അല്ലയോ അകവും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയതു?
41 Notwithstanding, as to the things within, give alms, and lo! everything, is, pure unto you.
അകത്തുള്ളതു ഭിക്ഷയായി കൊടുപ്പിൻ; എന്നാൽ സകലവും നിങ്ങൾക്കു ശുദ്ധം ആകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
42 But alas for you, the Pharisees! because ye tithe the mint, and the rue, and every garden herb, and pass by justice, and the love of God. But, these things, it was binding to do, and, those, not to pass by.
പരീശന്മാരായ നിങ്ങൾക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ തുളസിയിലും അരൂതയിലും എല്ലാ ചീരയിലും പതാരം കൊടുക്കയും ന്യായവും ദൈവസ്നേഹവും വിട്ടുകളകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഇതു ചെയ്കയും അതു ത്യജിക്കാതിരിക്കയും വേണം.
43 Alas for you, the Pharisees! because ye love the first seats in the synagogues, and the salutations in the market-places!
പരീശന്മാരായ നിങ്ങൾക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾക്കു പള്ളിയിൽ മുഖ്യാസനവും അങ്ങാടിയിൽ വന്ദനവും പ്രിയമാകുന്നു. നിങ്ങൾക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം;
44 Alas for you! because ye are as the secret tombs: even the men that are walking above them, know it not.
നിങ്ങൾ കാണ്മാൻ കഴിയാത്ത കല്ലറകളെപ്പോലെ ആകുന്നു; അവയുടെ മീതെ നടക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യർ അറിയുന്നില്ല.
45 And, making answer, one of the Lawyers saith unto him, Teacher! these things, saying, us also, dost thou insult!
ന്യായശാസ്ത്രിമാരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ അവനോടു: ഗുരോ, ഇങ്ങനെ പറയുന്നതിനാൽ നീ ഞങ്ങളെയും അപമാനിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
46 And, he, said—And, for you, the lawyers, alas! because ye lade men with burdens hard to be borne, and, yourselves, with one of your fingers, touch not the burdens.
അതിന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതു: ന്യായശാസ്ത്രിമാരായ നിങ്ങൾക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; എടുപ്പാൻ പ്രയാസമുള്ള ചുമടുകളെ നിങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യരെക്കൊണ്ടു ചുമപ്പിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ ഒരു വിരൽ കൊണ്ടുപോലും ആ ചുമടുകളെ തൊടുന്നില്ല.
47 Alas for you! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers slew them!
നിങ്ങൾക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ കല്ലറകളെ പണിയുന്നു; നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ അവരെ കൊന്നു.
48 Hence, witnesses, are ye, and find consenting pleasure in the works of your fathers: because, they, indeed, slew them, and, ye, are building, [their tombs].
അതിനാൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾക്കു നിങ്ങൾ സാക്ഷികളായിരിക്കയും സമ്മതിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; അവർ അവരെ കൊന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ അവരുടെ കല്ലറകളെ പണിയുന്നു.
49 For this cause, the Wisdom of God hath said—I will send forth, unto them, prophets and apostles, —and, some from among them, will they slay, and, [some] persecute:
അതുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ജ്ഞാനവും പറയുന്നതു: ഞാൻ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെയും അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരെയും അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയക്കുന്നു; അവരിൽ ചിലരെ അവർ കൊല്ലുകയും ഉപദ്രവിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.
50 That the blood of all the prophets which hath been shed from the foundation of the world, may be sought out, from this generation, —
ഹാബേലിന്റെ രക്തം തുടങ്ങി യാഗപീഠത്തിന്നും ആലയത്തിന്നും നടുവിൽവെച്ചു പട്ടുപോയ സെഖൎയ്യാവിന്റെ രക്തം വരെ
51 From the blood of Abel, unto the blood of Zachariah who was destroyed betwixt the altar and the house; Yea! I say unto you—It shall be sought out from this generation.
ലോക സ്ഥാപനം മുതൽ ചൊരിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന സകല പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെയും രക്തം ഈ തലമുറയോടു ചോദിപ്പാൻ ഇടവരേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ. അതേ, ഈ തലമുറയോടു അതു ചോദിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
52 Alas for you, the lawyers! because ye took away the key of knowledge: yourselves, entered not, and, them who were entering, ye hindered.
ന്യായശാസ്ത്രിമാരായ നിങ്ങൾക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ താക്കോൽ എടുത്തുകളഞ്ഞു; നിങ്ങൾ തന്നേ കടന്നില്ല; കടക്കുന്നവരെ തടുത്തുംകളഞ്ഞു.
53 And, when, from thence, he came out, the Scribes and the Pharisees began, with vehemence, to be hemming him in, and trying to make him speak off-hand concerning many things, —
അവൻ അവിടംവിട്ടുപോകുമ്പോൾ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരും
54 lying in wait for him, to catch something out of his mouth.
അവനെ അത്യന്തം വിഷമിപ്പിപ്പാനും അവന്റെ വായിൽ നിന്നു വല്ലതും പിടിക്കാമോ എന്നു വെച്ചു അവന്നായി പതിയിരുന്നുകൊണ്ടു പലതിനെയും കുറിച്ചു കുടുക്കുചോദ്യം ചോദിപ്പാനും തുടങ്ങി.
