Luke 1
1 Seeing, indeed, that, many, had taken in hand to re-arrange for themselves a narrative, concerning the facts which have been fully confirmed amongst us, —
௧மகா கனம்பொருந்திய தேயோப்பிலுவே, நாங்கள் முழுநிச்சயமாக நம்புகிற காரியங்களை,
2 according as they who from the beginning became eye-witnesses and attendants of the Word delivered them unto us,
௨ஆரம்பமுதல் கண்கூடாகப் பார்த்து வசனத்தைப் போதித்தவர்கள் எங்களுக்கு ஒப்புவித்தபடியே அவைகளைக்குறித்து சரித்திரம் எழுத அநேகம்பேர் முயற்சித்தனர்.
3 it seemed good, even to me, having closely traced from the outset all things accurately, to write unto thee, in order, most excellent Theophilus:
௩ஆகவே, ஆரம்பமுதல் எல்லாவற்றையும் திட்டமாக விசாரித்து அறிந்த நானும் உமக்கு உபதேசிக்கப்பட்ட காரியங்களின் நிச்சயத்தை நீர் அறியவேண்டும் என்று,
4 that, as touching the matters which thou hadst been taught by word of mouth, thou mightest obtain full knowledge, of the certainty.
௪அவைகளை சரியாக ஒழுங்குப்படுத்தி உமக்கு எழுதுவது எனக்கு நல்லதாகத் தோன்றியது.
5 It came to pass, in the days of Herod, king of Judaea, that there was a certain priest, by name Zachariah, of the daily course of Abia; and that he had a wife of the daughters of Aaron, and, her name, was Elizabeth.
௫யூதேயாதேசத்தின் ராஜாவாகிய ஏரோதின் நாட்களில், அபியா என்னும் ஆசாரிய வம்சத்தைச் சேர்ந்த சகரியா என்னும் பெயர்கொண்ட ஆசாரியன் ஒருவன் இருந்தான். அவனுடைய மனைவி ஆரோனுடைய சந்ததியில் ஒருத்தி, அவளுடைய பெயர் எலிசபெத்து.
6 Now they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and righteous appointments of the Lord, blameless;
௬அவர்கள் இருவரும் கர்த்தர் கொடுத்த எல்லாக் கட்டளைகளின்படியும் நியமங்களின்படியும் குற்றமற்றவர்களாக நடந்து, தேவனுக்குமுன்பாக நீதியுள்ளவர்களாக இருந்தார்கள்.
7 and they had no child, inasmuch as Elizabeth was barren, and, both, had become, advanced in their days.
௭எலிசபெத்து மலடியாக இருந்தபடியால், அவர்களுக்குப் பிள்ளையில்லாதிருந்தது; இருவரும் முதிர்வயதானவர்களாகவும் இருந்தார்கள்.
8 But it came to pass, as he was doing priestly service in the order of his daily course, before God,
௮அப்படியிருக்க, அவன் தன் ஆசாரிய முறைமைகளின்படி தேவசந்நிதியிலே ஆசாரிய ஊழியம் செய்துவருகிற காலத்தில்,
9 according to the custom of his priesthood, it fell to his lot to offer incense, entering into the Temple of the Lord;
௯ஆசாரிய ஊழிய முறைகளின்படி அவன் தேவாலயத்திற்குச் சென்று தூபம் காட்டுகிறதற்காகத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டான்.
10 and, all the throng of the people, was praying outside, at the hour of the incense offering.
௧0தூபம் காட்டுகிற நேரத்திலே மக்களெல்லோரும் கூட்டமாக வெளியே ஜெபம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.
11 And there appeared unto him a messenger of the Lord, standing on the right hand of the altar of incense;
௧௧அப்பொழுது கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் ஒருவன் தூப பீடத்தின் வலதுபக்கத்திலே நின்று அவனுக்குத் தரிசனமானான்.
12 and Zachariah was troubled when he beheld, and, fear, fell upon him.
௧௨சகரியா அவனைப் பார்த்து கலங்கி, பயமடைந்தான்.
13 But the messenger said unto him—Do not fear, Zachariah! Inasmuch as thy supplication hath been hearkened to, —and, thy wife Elizabeth, shall bring forth a son to thee, and thou shalt call his name, John;
௧௩கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் அவனைப் பார்த்து: சகரியாவே, பயப்படாதே, உன் விண்ணப்பம் கேட்கப்பட்டது; உன் மனைவியாகிய எலிசபெத்து உனக்கு ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெற்றெடுப்பாள், அவனுக்கு யோவான் என்று பெயர் இடுவாயாக.
14 And there shall be joy to thee and exulting, and, many, over his birth, shall rejoice;
௧௪உனக்குச் சந்தோஷமும் மகிழ்ச்சியும் உண்டாகும், அவன் பிறப்பதினாலே அநேகர் சந்தோஷப்படுவார்கள்.
15 For he shall be great before the Lord, and, wine and strong drink, in nowise may he drink, and, with Holy Spirit, shall he be filled, already, from his mother’s womb;
௧௫அவன் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாகப் பெரியவனாக இருப்பான், திராட்சைரசமும் மதுபானமும் குடிக்கமாட்டான், அவன் எலிசபெத்தின் கர்ப்பத்தில் இருக்கும்போதே பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரால் நிரப்பப்பட்டிருப்பான்.
16 And, many of the Sons of Israel, shall he turn towards the Lord their God;
௧௬அவன் இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்தாரில் அநேகரைப் பாவங்களைவிட்டு, அவர்களுடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடத்திற்குத் திருப்புவான்.
17 And, he, shall go before him, in the spirit and power of Elijah, —To turn the hearts of fathers unto children, and the unyielding, into the prudence of the righteous, and to prepare, for the Lord, a people made ready.
௧௭பிதாக்களுடைய இருதயங்களைப் பிள்ளைகளிடத்திற்கும், கீழ்ப்படியாதவர்களை நீதிமான்களுடைய ஞானத்திற்கும் திருப்பி, உத்தமமான மக்களை கர்த்தருக்கு ஆயத்தப்படுத்த, அவன் எலியாவின் ஆவியும் பலமும் உள்ளவனாக கர்த்தருக்கு முன்னே நடப்பான் என்றான்.
18 And Zachariah said unto the messenger—Whereby, shall I know this? for, I, am, aged, and, my wife, advanced in her days.
௧௮அப்பொழுது சகரியா தேவதூதனை நோக்கி: இதை நான் எப்படி அறிவேன்; நான் முதிர்வயதானவனாக இருக்கிறேன், என் மனைவியும் வயதானவளாக இருக்கிறாளே என்றான்.
19 And the messenger, answering, said unto him—I, am Gabriel, —he that standeth near before God; and have been sent forth to speak unto thee, and to deliver the joyful message unto thee, as touching these things.
௧௯தேவதூதன் அவனுக்கு மறுமொழியாக: நான் தேவ சந்நிதானத்தில் நிற்கிற காபிரியேல் என்பவன்; உன்னுடனே பேசவும், உனக்கு இந்த நற்செய்தியை அறிவிக்கவும் அனுப்பப்பட்டு வந்தேன்;
20 And lo! thou shalt be silent, and not able to speak until the day when these things shall come to pass; because thou didst not believe in my words, —the which shall be fulfilled for their season.
௨0இதோ, குறித்த காலத்திலே நிறைவேறப்போகிற என் வார்த்தைகளை நீ விசுவாசிக்காதபடியால் இவைகள் நிறைவேறும் நாள்வரை நீ பேசமுடியாமல் ஊமையாக இருப்பாய் என்றான்.
21 And the people were expecting Zachariah, and began to marvel that he should tarry in the Temple;
௨௧மக்கள் சகரியாவுக்காக நீண்டநேரம் காத்திருந்து, அவன் தேவாலயத்தில் இருந்து வெளியே வர தாமதம் செய்ததினால் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள்.
22 and when he came forth he was not able to speak unto them, and they perceived that, a vision, he had seen in the Temple, —and, he, continued making signs unto them, and remained dumb.
௨௨அவன் வெளியே வந்தபோது மக்களிடத்தில் பேச முடியாமலிருந்தான்; எனவே தேவாலயத்தில் அவன் ஒரு தரிசனத்தைப் பார்த்தான் என்று அறிந்துகொண்டார்கள். அவன் ஊமையாக இருந்தபடியால் அவர்களுக்கு சைகைகாட்டினான்.
23 And it came to pass, when the days of his public ministration were fulfilled, that he departed unto his house.
௨௩அவனுடைய ஊழியத்தின் நாட்கள் நிறைவேறினவுடனே தன் வீட்டிற்குப்போனான்.
24 And, after these days, Elizabeth his wife conceived, and she disguised herself five months, saying—
௨௪அதற்குப்பின்பு, அவன் மனைவியாகிய எலிசபெத்து கர்ப்பந்தரித்து: மக்கள் மத்தியில் எனக்கு உண்டாயிருந்த அவமானத்தை நீக்கும்படியாகக் கர்த்தர் இந்த நாட்களில் என்மேல் இரக்கம் வைத்து,
25 Thus, for me, hath the Lord wrought, —in the days in which he looked upon me, to take away my reproach among men.
௨௫எனக்கு இப்படிச் செய்தார் என்று சொல்லி, ஐந்து மாதங்கள் வீட்டைவிட்டு வெளியே போகாமல் இருந்தாள்.
26 Now, in the sixth month, was the messenger Gabriel sent forth from God, into a city of Galilee, the name of which was Nazareth, —
௨௬எலிசபெத்தின் ஆறாம் மாதத்திலே காபிரியேல் என்னும் தூதன், கலிலேயாவிலுள்ள நாசரேத்து என்னும் ஊரில்,
27 unto a virgin, betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and, the name of the virgin, was, Mary;
௨௭தாவீதின் வம்சத்தை சேர்ந்த யோசேப்பு என்கிற பெயருள்ள மனிதனுக்கு நிச்சயிக்கப்பட்டிருந்த ஒரு கன்னிப் பெண்ணிடத்திற்கு தேவனாலே அனுப்பப்பட்டான்; அந்தக் கன்னிப் பெண்ணின் பெயர் மரியாள்.
28 and entering in unto her, he said—Joy to thee, favoured one! The Lord, be with thee!
௨௮அவள் இருந்த வீட்டில் தேவதூதன் தோன்றி: கிருபை பெற்றவளே, வாழ்க, கர்த்தர் உன்னுடனே இருக்கிறார், பெண்களுக்குள்ளே நீ ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவள் என்றான்.
29 And, she, at the word, was greatly troubled, and began to deliberate, of what kind, this salutation, might be.
௨௯அவளோ அவனைப் பார்த்து, அவன் வார்த்தையினால் கலங்கி, இந்த வாழ்த்துக்கள் எப்படிப்பட்டதோ என்று சிந்தித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தாள்.
30 And the messenger said unto her—Do not fear, Mary, for thou hast found favour with God, —
௩0தேவதூதன் அவளை நோக்கி: மரியாளே, பயப்படாதே; நீ தேவனிடமிருந்து கிருபைபெற்றாய்.
31 And lo! thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name, Jesus:
௩௧இதோ, நீ கர்ப்பம் தரித்து ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெற்றெடுப்பாய், அவருக்கு இயேசு என்று பெயரிடுவாயாக.
32 the same, shall be great, and, Son of the Most High, shall be called, and the Lord God, will give unto him, the throne of David his father, —
௩௨அவர் பெரியவராக இருப்பார், உன்னதமான தேவனுடைய குமாரன் எனப்படுவார்; கர்த்தராகிய தேவன் அவருடைய பிதாவாகிய தாவீதின் சிங்காசனத்தை அவருக்குக் கொடுப்பார்.
33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob, unto the ages, and, of his kingdom, there shall be, no end. (aiōn g165)
௩௩அவர் யாக்கோபின் குடும்பத்தாரை என்றென்றைக்கும் அரசாளுவார்; அவருடைய இராஜ்யத்திற்கு முடிவு இல்லை என்றான். (aiōn g165)
34 But Mary said unto the messenger—How, shall this thing be, seeing that, a man, I know not?
௩௪அதற்கு மரியாள் தேவதூதனை நோக்கி: நான் கன்னிப்பெண்ணாய் இருக்கிறேனே, இது எப்படி நடக்கும்? என்றாள்.
35 And answering, the messenger said unto her—The Holy Spirit, shall come upon thee, and, the power of the Most High, shall overshadow thee; wherefore, even that which is to be born, Holy, shall be called, Son of God.
௩௫தேவதூதன் அவளுக்கு மறுமொழியாக; பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் உன்மேல் வருவார்; உன்னதமான தேவனுடைய பலம் உன்னை மூடும்; எனவே உன் கர்ப்பத்தில் பிறக்கும் இந்தப் பரிசுத்தக் குழந்தை, தேவனுடைய குமாரன் என்று அழைக்கப்படும்.
36 And lo! Elizabeth thy kinswoman, even she, hath conceived a son in, her old-age; —and, this month, is, the sixth, to her, the so-called barren one;
௩௬இதோ, உன் இனத்தைச் சேர்ந்த எலிசபெத்தும் தன்னுடைய முதிர்வயதிலே ஒரு குமாரனைக் கர்ப்பம் தரித்திருக்கிறாள்; குழந்தை இல்லாதவள் என்று சொல்லப்பட்ட அவளுக்கு இது ஆறாவது மாதம்.
37 Because no declaration from God, shall be void of power.
௩௭தேவனாலே செய்யமுடியாத காரியம் ஒன்றும் இல்லை என்றான்.
38 And Mary said—Lo! the handmaid of the Lord! Might it come to pass unto me, according to thy declaration. And the messenger departed from her.
௩௮அதற்கு மரியாள்: இதோ, நான் ஆண்டவருக்கு அடிமை, உம்முடைய வார்த்தையின்படி எனக்கு நடக்கட்டும் என்றாள். அப்பொழுது தேவதூதன் அவளைவிட்டுப் போய்விட்டான்.
39 And Mary, arising, in these days, journeyed into the hill country with haste, into a city of Judah, —
௩௯அந்த நாளில் மரியாள் எழுந்து, மலைநாடாகிய யூதேயாவில் உள்ள ஒரு பட்டணத்திற்கு சீக்கிரமாகப்போய்,
40 and entered into the house of Zachariah, and saluted Elizabeth.
௪0சகரியாவின் வீட்டிற்குச் சென்று, எலிசபெத்தை வாழ்த்தினாள்.
41 And it came to pass that, as Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leapt in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with Holy Spirit, —
௪௧எலிசபெத்து மரியாளுடைய வாழ்த்துக்களைக் கேட்டபொழுது, அவளுடைய கர்ப்பத்தில் இருந்த குழந்தை துள்ளியது; எலிசபெத்து பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரால் நிரப்பப்பட்டு,
42 and lifted up her voice with loud exclamation, and said—Blessed, art thou among women, and, blessed, is the fruit of thy womb;
௪௨அதிக சத்தமாக: பெண்களுக்குள்ளே நீ ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவள், உன் கர்ப்பத்தின் கனியும் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டது.
43 And, whence, to me is, this, That the mother of my Lord should come, unto me?
௪௩என் ஆண்டவருடைய தாயார் என்னிடம் வர நான் என்ன பாக்கியம் செய்தேன்!
44 For lo! as the sound of thy salutation came into mine ears, the babe in my womb, leapt in exultation.
௪௪இதோ, நீ வாழ்த்தின சத்தம் என் காதில் விழுந்தவுடனே, என் கர்ப்பத்திலுள்ள குழந்தை மகிழ்ச்சியால் துள்ளியது.
45 And, happy, is she who hath believed, that there shall be a perfecting of the things which have been spoken to her from the Lord!
௪௫விசுவாசித்தவளே, நீ பாக்கியவதி, கர்த்தராலே உனக்குச் சொல்லப்பட்டவைகள் நிறைவேறும் என்றாள்.
46 And Mary said—My soul doth magnify the Lord,
௪௬அப்பொழுது மரியாள்: “என் ஆத்துமா கர்த்த்தரை மகிமைப்படுத்துகிறது.
47 And my spirit hath exulted upon God my saviour;
௪௭என் ஆவி என் இரட்சகராகிய தேவனிடம் மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருக்கிறது.
48 Because he hath looked upon the humbling of his handmaid; for lo! from the present time, all the generations, will pronounce me happy.
௪௮தேவன் அடிமையாகிய என்னுடைய தாழ்மையை நோக்கிப்பார்த்தார்; இதோ, இனி எல்லா வம்சங்களும் என்னை பாக்கியம் பெற்றவள் என்பார்கள்.
49 Because he that is mighty hath done for me great things, and, holy, is his name;
௪௯வல்லமையுடைய தேவன் மகிமையான காரியங்களை எனக்குச் செய்தார்; அவருடைய நாமம் பரிசுத்தமானது.
50 And his mercy is unto generations and generations, to them who revere him;
௫0அவருடைய இரக்கம் அவருக்குப் பயந்து நடக்கிறவர்களுக்குத் தலைமுறை தலைமுறைக்கும் இருக்கும்.
51 He hath wrought strength with his arm, He hath scattered men arrogant in the intention of their heart;
௫௧அவர் தம்முடைய கரங்களினாலே வல்லமையுள்ள காரியங்களைச் செய்தார்; இருதய சிந்தைகளில் பெருமையுள்ளவர்களைச் சிதறிப்போகப்பண்ணினார்.
52 He hath deposed potentates from thrones, and uplifted the lowly;
௫௨ராஜாக்களை பதவிகளிலிருந்து நீக்கி, தாழ்மையானவர்களை உயர்த்தினார்.
53 The hungry, hath he filled with good things, and, the wealthy, hath he sent empty away;
௫௩பசியுள்ளவர்களுக்கு நன்மையானதைக் கொடுத்து, செல்வந்தர்களுக்கு ஒன்றும் கொடுக்காமல் வெறுமையாக அனுப்பிவிட்டார்.
54 He hath laid hold of Israel his servant, to be mindful of mercies:
௫௪நம்முடைய முற்பிதாக்களுக்கு அவர் சொன்னபடியே, ஆபிரகாமுக்கும் அவன் வம்சத்திற்கும் எப்பொழுதும் இரக்கம் செய்ய நினைத்து, (aiōn g165)
55 According as he spake unto our fathers, —To Abraham, and to his seed, —Unto times age-abiding. (aiōn g165)
௫௫அவருடைய மக்களாகிய இஸ்ரவேல் தேசத்தினர்களுக்கு உதவி செய்தார்” என்றாள்.
56 And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned unto her house.
௫௬மரியாள் ஏறக்குறைய மூன்று மாதங்கள் எலிசெபெத்துடன் தங்கியிருந்து, பின்பு தன் வீட்டிற்குத் திரும்பிப்போனாள்.
57 And, to Elizabeth, was the time fulfilled, that she should be bringing forth, —and she gave birth to a son.
௫௭எலிசபெத்திற்குப் பிரசவநேரம் வந்தபோது அவள் ஒரு ஆண் குழந்தையைப் பெற்றெடுத்தாள்.
58 And her neighbours and kinsfolk heard, that the Lord had magnified his mercy with her, and they were rejoicing with her.
௫௮கர்த்தர் அவள்மேல் எவ்வளவு இரக்கமாக இருந்தார் என்று அவள் அருகில் வசிப்பவர்களும் சொந்தங்களும் கேள்விப்பட்டு, அவளோடு சேர்ந்து சந்தோஷப்பட்டார்கள்.
59 And it came to pass, on the eighth day, that they came to circumcise the child, and were calling it, after the name of its father, Zachariah.
௫௯எட்டாவது நாளிலே குழந்தைக்கு விருத்தசேதனம்பண்ண அவர்கள் எல்லோரும் கூடிவந்து, குழந்தையின் தகப்பனுடைய பெயராகிய சகரியா என்ற பெயரையே குழந்தைக்கும் வைக்க விரும்பினார்கள்.
60 And his mother, answering, said—Nay! but he shall be called, John.
௬0அப்பொழுது எலிசெபெத்து: “அப்படி வேண்டாம், குழந்தைக்கு யோவான் என்று பெயர் வைக்கவேண்டும் என்றாள்.
61 And they said unto her—There is, no one from among thy kindred, who is called by this name!
௬௧அதற்கு அவர்கள்: உன் உறவினர்களில் இந்தப் பெயருள்ளவன் ஒருவனும் இல்லையே” என்று சொல்லி,
62 And they began making signs unto his father, as to what he might be wishing it to be called.
௬௨சகரியாவைப் பார்த்து: குழந்தைக்கு என்ன பெயர் வைக்க விரும்புகிறீர் என்று சைகையினால் கேட்டார்கள்.
63 And, asking for a small tablet, he wrote, saying—John, is his name! and they marvelled all.
௬௩அவன் எழுத்துப் பலகையைக் கேட்டு வாங்கி,” இவன் பெயர் யோவான்,” என்று எழுதினான்; எல்லோரும் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள்.
64 And his mouth was opened instantly, and his tongue [loosed], and he began to speak, blessing, God.
௬௪உடனே அவனுடைய வாய் திறக்கப்பட்டது, அவன் பேசி, தேவனை ஸ்தோத்திரித்துப் புகழ்ந்தான்.
65 And fear came upon all the neighbours themselves; and, throughout all the hill-country of Judaea, were all these matters being much talked of;
௬௫அதினால் அவர்களைச் சுற்றி வாழ்ந்த அனைவருக்கும் பயம் உண்டானது. மேலும் யூதேயா மலைநாடு முழுவதும் இந்தச் செய்தி பரவி, இதைக்குறித்து அதிகமாகப் பேசப்பட்டது.
66 and all who heard laid [them] up in their hearts, saying—What then shall his child be? for, even the hand of the Lord, was with him.
௬௬இதைக் கேள்விப்பட்டவர்கள் எல்லோரும் தங்களுடைய மனதிலே நடந்தவைகளை நினைத்து, இந்தக் குழந்தை வளர்ந்து எப்படிப்பட்ட காரியங்களைச் செய்யுமோ என்றார்கள். கர்த்தருடைய கரம் அந்தக் குழந்தையோடு இருந்தது.
67 And, Zachariah his father, was filled with Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying: —
௬௭அவனுடைய தகப்பனாகிய சகரியா பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவராலே நிரப்பப்பட்டு, தீர்க்கதரிசனமாக:
68 Blessed, be the Lord, the God of Israel! Because he hath visited and wrought redemption for his people,
௬௮“இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம் உண்டாவதாக.
69 And hath raised up a horn of salvation for us, In the house of David his servant:
௬௯அவர் நம்முடைய முற்பிதாக்களுக்கு வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணின இரக்கத்தைச் செய்வதற்கும்;
௭0தம்முடைய பரிசுத்த உடன்படிக்கையை நினைத்தருளி: (aiōn g165)
71 Of salvation from among our foes, and out of the hand of all them that hate us:
௭௧உங்களுடைய சத்துருக்களின் கைகளில் இருந்து நீங்கள் விடுதலையாக்கப்பட்டு, உயிரோடிருக்கும் நாட்களெல்லாம் பயமில்லாமல் எனக்கு முன்பாகப் பரிசுத்தத்தோடும் நீதியோடும் எனக்கு ஊழியம் செய்யவும் கட்டளையிடுவேன் என்று,
72 To perform mercy with our fathers, and to be mindful of his holy covenant, —
௭௨அவர் நம்முடைய முற்பிதாவாகிய ஆபிரகாமுக்கு கொடுத்த ஆணையை நிறைவேற்றுவதற்கும்;
73 The oath which he sware unto Abraham our father, To grant us,
௭௩ஆதிமுதல் கொண்டிருந்த தம்முடைய பரிசுத்த தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் வாக்கினால் தேவன் சொன்னபடியே,
74 without fear, from the hand of enemies rescued, to be rendering divine service unto him,
௭௪தமது மக்களைச் சந்தித்து மீட்டுக்கொண்டு, நம்முடைய சத்துருக்களிடம் இருந்தும், நம்மைப் பகைக்கிற எல்லோருடைய கைகளில் இருந்தும், நம்மை இரட்சிப்பதற்காக,
75 in lovingkindness and righteousness before him, all our days.
௭௫தம்முடைய தாசனாகிய தாவீதின் வம்சத்திலே நமக்கு ஒரு வல்லமையுள்ள இரட்சகரை அனுப்பினார்.
76 And, even thou, child, prophet of the Most High, shalt be called, —for thou shall march on before the Lord, to prepare his ways,
௭௬என் மகனே, நீ உன்னதமான தேவனுடைய தீர்க்கதரிசி என்று அழைக்கப்படுவாய்; நீ கர்த்தருக்கு வழிகளை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணவும்,
77 Giving a knowledge of salvation unto his people, by a remission of their sins.
௭௭நமது தேவனுடைய உருக்கமான இரக்கத்தினாலே அவருடைய மக்களுக்குப் பாவமன்னிப்பாகிய இரட்சிப்பைத் தெரியப்படுத்தவும், அவருக்கு முன்னே நடந்துபோவாய்.
78 Because of the yearning compassion of the mercy of our God, wherein shall visit us a day-dawn from on high, —
௭௮இருளிலும், மரண பயத்திலும் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறவர்களுக்கு வெளிச்சம் கொடுக்கவும்,
79 To shine on them who, in the darkness and shade of death, are sitting, to guide our feet into a way of peace.
௭௯நம்முடைய கால்களைச் சமாதானத்தின் வழியிலே நடத்தவும், அந்த இரக்கத்தினாலே உன்னதத்திலிருந்து தோன்றிய சூரியன் நம்மிடம் வந்திருக்கிறது” என்றான்.
80 And, the child, went on growing, and being strengthened in spirit, and was in the deserts, until the day he was pointed out unto Israel.
௮0அந்தப் பிள்ளை வளர்ந்து, ஆவியிலே பெலனடைந்து, இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுக்கு வெளிப்படையாக உபதேசிக்கும் நாள் வரும்வரைக்கும் வனாந்திரங்களிலே வாழ்ந்து வந்தான்.
