< Leviticus 24 >

1 And Yahweh spake unto Moses, saying:
I korero ano a Ihowa ki a Mohi, i mea,
2 Command the sons of Israel, That they bring unto thee—pure oil olive, beaten, for giving light, —to cause the lamp to burn up continually.
Whakahaua nga tama a Iharaira kia kawea e ratou ki a koe, he hinu oriwa, hei te mea parakore, hei te mea tuki, mo te whakamarama, kia ka tonu ai nga rama.
3 Outside the veil of the testimony, in the tent of meeting, shall Aaron order it, from evening until morning, before Yahweh continually, —a statute age-abiding, to your generations.
4 Upon the pure lampstand, shall he order the lamps, —before Yahweh, continually.
5 And thou shalt take fine meal, and bake it, in twelve cakes, —of two-tenths, shall each cake be.
Me tiki ano e koe he paraoa pai, ka tunu ai kia tekau ma rua nga keke: kia rua nga whakatekau o te epa ki te keke kotahi.
6 And thou shalt set them in two rows, six in a row, —upon the pure table, before Yahweh.
7 And thou shalt put upon each row pure frankincense, —so shall it belong unto the bread as a memorial, an altar-flame unto Yahweh.
Me maka ano hoki e koe he parakihe parakore ki runga i tetahi rarangi, i tetahi rarangi, kia ai taua mea i runga i te taro hei whakamahara, hei whakahere ahi ki a Ihowa.
8 Sabbath day by sabbath day, shall he order it before Yahweh continually, —from the sons of Israel as an age-abiding covenant:
Me whakararangi tonu e ia, i tenei hapati, i tenei hapati, ki te aroaro o Ihowa, he mea mo nga tama a Iharaira; hei kawenata pumau.
9 so shall it be for Aaron and for his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place, —for most holy, shall it be unto him from among the altar-flames of Yahweh, a statute age-abiding.
A ma Arona ratou ko ana tama tena; me kai e ratou ki te wahi tapu; he tino tapu hoki tena mana i roto i nga whakahere ahi a Ihowa; hei tikanga pumau.
10 And forth went the son of a woman of Israel—he being the son of a man of Egypt—in the midst of the sons of Israel;
A i haere atu i roto i nga tama a Iharaira tetahi tama a tetahi wahine o Iharaira, ko tona papa no Ihipa: na ka whawhai tenei tama a te wahine o Iharaira ki tetahi tangata o Iharaira i roto i te puni;
11 and the son of the woman of Israel, and a man of Israel, reviled one another in the camp. And the son of the Israelitish woman uttered contemptuously the Name, and reviled. So they brought him in unto Moses, —now, the name of his mother, was Shelomith, daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan;
12 and they put him in ward, —that a clear answer might be given to them at the mouth of Yahweh.
13 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:
Na ka korero a Ihowa ki a Mohi, ka mea,
14 Bring forth him that reviled unto the outside of the camp, then shall all that heard [him] lean their hands upon his head, —and all the assembly shall stone him.
15 And, unto the sons of Israel, shalt thou speak saying, —What man soever curseth his God shall bear his sin.
Me korero ano e koe ki nga tama a Iharaira, me ki atu, Ki te kanga tetahi tangata i tona Atua, ka waha e ia tona hara.
16 And, he that contemptuously uttereth the name of Yahweh, shall be, surely put to death, all the assembly shall, surely stone, him, —as the sojourner so the home-born, when he contemptuously uttereth the Name, he shall be put to death.
17 And, when, any man, by smiting taketh the life of any human being, he shall be surely put to death,
Ki te whakamate hoki tetahi i tetahi tangata me tino whakamate ano ia;
18 And he that by smiting taketh away the life of a beast, shall make it good, —life for life.
Ki te whakamate hoki tetahi i te kararehe, me utu e ia; he kararehe mo te kararehe.
19 And, when, any man, inflicteth a blemish upon his neighbour, as he hath done, so, shall it be done to him:
Ki te mate hoki i te tangata tetahi wahi o tona hoa; me mea ki a ia tana i mea ai:
20 fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, as he inflicteth a blemish upon a human being, so, shall one be inflicted upon him.
He whati mo te whati, he kanohi mo te kanohi, he niho mo te niho: ko te mate i meatia e ia ki te tangata, me mea ano ki a ia.
21 And he that killeth a beast, shall make it good, -and he that killeth a human being, shall be put to death.
Ki te whakamate hoki tetahi i te kararehe, me utu e ia: ki te whakamate hoki tetahi i te tangata, me whakamate ano ia.
22 One rule, shall ye have, as the sojourner, so the home-born, shall be, —For, I—Yahweh, am your God.
Kia kotahi ano ta koutou whakawa mo te manene, mo te tangata whenua: ko Ihowa hoki ahau, ko to koutou Atua.
23 So then Moses spake unto the sons of Israel, and they took forth the reviler, unto the outside of the camp, and stoned him with stones. Thus, the sons of Israel did, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
