Leviticus 11

1 And Yahweh spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying unto them:

യഹോവ മോശയോടും അഹരോനോടും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു:

2 Speak ye unto the sons of Israel saying, —These are the living things which ye may eat, of all the beasts which are upon the earth:

“ഇസ്രായേല്യരോടു പറയുക: കരയിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാ മൃഗങ്ങളിലും നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഭക്ഷിക്കാവുന്നവ ഇവയാണ്:

3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof and is cloven-footed, and cheweth the cud among beasts, that, may ye eat.

കുളമ്പു പിളർന്നു രണ്ടായി പിരിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതും അയവിറക്കുന്നതുമായ ഏതൊരു മൃഗത്തെയും നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഭക്ഷിക്കാം.

4 Nevertheless, these, shall ye not eat, of them that chew the cud, and of them that part the hoof, —the camel, because though he, cheweth the cud, yet, the hoof, he parteth not, unclean, he is to you;

“‘ഒന്നുകിൽ അയവിറക്കുന്നവയോ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ കുളമ്പു പിളർന്നവയോ ആയിരിക്കാം ചില മൃഗങ്ങൾ. അവ നിങ്ങൾ ഭക്ഷിക്കരുത്. ഒട്ടകം അയവിറക്കുന്നെങ്കിലും കുളമ്പു പിളർന്നതല്ല; അതു നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അശുദ്ധമാണ്.

5 And, the coney, because, though he cheweth the cud, yet, the hoof, he parteth not, —unclean, he is to you;

കുഴിമുയൽ അയവിറക്കുന്നെങ്കിലും കുളമ്പു പിളർന്നതല്ല; അത് നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അശുദ്ധമാണ്.

6 And the hare, because though she cheweth the cud, yet the hoof, she parteth not, —unclean, she is to you;

മുയൽ അയവിറക്കുന്നെങ്കിലും, കുളമ്പു പിളർന്നതല്ല; അതു നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അശുദ്ധമാണ്.

7 And, the swine, because though he parteth the hoof, and is cloven-footed, yet, the cud, he cheweth not, —unclean, he is to you;

പന്നിയുടെ കുളമ്പു പിരിഞ്ഞ് പൂർണമായി പിളർന്നതാണ്; എന്നാൽ അത് അയവിറക്കുന്നില്ല; അതു നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അശുദ്ധമാണ്.

8 Of their flesh, shall ye not eat, and, their carcase, shall ye not touch, —unclean, they are to you.

നിങ്ങൾ അവയുടെ മാംസം ഭക്ഷിക്കുകയോ അവയുടെ ശവം സ്പർശിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യരുത്; അവ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അശുദ്ധമാണ്.

9 these, may ye eat, of all that are in the waters, —all that have fins and scales in the waters, in the seas and in the rivers, them, may ye eat.

“‘കടൽവെള്ളത്തിലും പുഴയിലും ജീവിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാ ജീവികളിലും ചിറകും ചെതുമ്പലും ഉള്ളവയെല്ലാം നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഭക്ഷിക്കാം.

10 But, all that have not fins and scales, in the seas and in the rivers, of all that swarm in the waters, and of all the living souls that are in the waters, an abomination, they are unto you;

എന്നാൽ കടലുകളിലും പുഴകളിലും കൂട്ടമായി ചരിക്കുന്നവയിലും വെള്ളത്തിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്ന മറ്റു ജീവികളിലും, ചിറകും ചെതുമ്പലും ഇല്ലാത്തവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു നിഷിദ്ധമായിരിക്കണം.

11 and an abomination, shall they remain to you, —of their flesh, ye shall not eat, and their carcases, shall ye abhor.

അവ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അറപ്പായിരിക്കണം. അവയുടെ മാംസം ഭക്ഷിക്കരുത്, അവയുടെ പിണം നിങ്ങൾക്കു നിഷിദ്ധമായിരിക്കണം.

12 Whatsoever hath not fins and scales in the waters, an abomination, it is unto you.

വെള്ളത്തിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്ന, ചിറകും ചെതുമ്പലുമില്ലാത്ത എന്തും നിങ്ങൾക്കു നിഷിദ്ധമാണ്.

13 And, these, shall ye abhor of birds, they shall not be eaten, an abomination, they are, —the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the osprey;

“‘പറവകളിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് നിഷിദ്ധമായിരിക്കുന്നവ ഇവയാണ്: അവ അശുദ്ധമാകുകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ അവ ഭക്ഷിക്കരുത്: കഴുകൻ, ചെമ്പരുന്ത്, കരിമ്പരുന്ത്

14 and the vulture, and the falcon, after its kind;

ഗൃദ്ധ്രം, ഏതിനത്തിലുംപെട്ട പരുന്ത്,

15 every raven, after its kind;

എല്ലാ ഇനത്തിലുംപെട്ട കാക്ക,

16 and the female ostrich, and the male ostrich, and the sea-gull, —and the hawk after its kind;

ഒട്ടകപ്പക്ഷി, പുള്ള്, കടൽക്കാക്ക, എല്ലാ ഇനത്തിലുംപെട്ട കഴുകൻ,

17 and the pelican and the gannet, and the bittern;

നത്ത്, നീർക്കാക്ക, കൂമൻ,

18 and the swan and the vomiting pelican and the little vulture;

മൂങ്ങ, വേഴാമ്പൽ, വെള്ളക്കഴുകൻ,

19 and the stork, and the parrot, after its kind, —and the mountain-cock and the bat.

പെരിഞ്ഞാറ, ഏതിനത്തിലുംപെട്ട കൊക്ക്, കുളക്കോഴി, വവ്വാൽ.

20 Every creeping thing that flieth, that goeth on all-fours, an abomination, it is unto you.

“‘ചിറകുള്ള പ്രാണികളിൽ നാലുകാലിൽ നടക്കുകയും പറക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവയെല്ലാം നിങ്ങൾക്കു നിഷിദ്ധമാണ്.

21 Nevertheless, these, may ye eat, of all creeping things that fly, that go on all-fours, —such as have legs above their feet, to leap therewith, upon the earth—

നാലുകാലിൽ നടക്കുന്നെങ്കിലും നിലത്തു ചാടിനടക്കേണ്ടതിനു കാലുകളിൽ സന്ധിബന്ധമുള്ളതും ചിറകുള്ളതുമായ പ്രാണികളെ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഭക്ഷിക്കാം.

22 these of them, may ye eat: the swarming-locust after its kind, and the devouring locust after its kind, —and the chargol-locust after its kind, and the chagab-locust after its kind.

ഇവയിൽ ഏതിനം വെട്ടുക്കിളിയും വിട്ടിലും ചീവീടും തുള്ളനും നിങ്ങൾക്കു തിന്നാം.

23 But every [other] creeping thing that flieth, which hath four feet, an abomination, it is unto you;

എന്നാൽ, ചിറകും നാലു കാലുമുള്ള മറ്റെല്ലാ ജീവികളും നിങ്ങൾക്കു നിഷിദ്ധമാണ്.

24 and, for these, shall ye count yourselves unclean—whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the evening;

“‘ഇവയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ അശുദ്ധരാക്കും; അവയുടെ പിണം സ്പർശിക്കുന്നവർ സന്ധ്യവരെ അശുദ്ധരായിരിക്കും.

25 and whosoever beareth away aught of the carcase of them, shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening.

അവയിലൊന്നിന്റെ പിണം എടുക്കുന്നവരും തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം അലക്കണം, അവരും സന്ധ്യവരെ അശുദ്ധരായിരിക്കും.

26 As for every kind of beast which, though it parteth the hoof, yet is not cloven-footed nor cheweth the cud, unclean, they are unto you, —every one who toucheth them shall be unclean.

“‘കുളമ്പു പിരിഞ്ഞ് പൂർണമായി പിളരാത്തതും അയവിറക്കാത്തതുമായ മൃഗങ്ങളെല്ലാം നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അശുദ്ധം; അവയിലൊന്നിന്റെ പിണം തൊടുന്നവർ അശുദ്ധരായിരിക്കും.

27 And, all that go upon their paws, among all the living things that go on all-fours, unclean, they are unto you, —whoso toucheth the carcase of them, shall be unclean until the evening.

നാലുകാലിൽ നടക്കുന്ന ജീവികളിൽ ഉള്ളങ്കാൽ പതിച്ചു നടക്കുന്നവയെല്ലാം നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അശുദ്ധം; അവയിലൊന്നിന്റെ പിണം സ്പർശിക്കുന്നവർ സന്ധ്യവരെ അശുദ്ധരായിരിക്കും.

28 And, he that beareth away the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and shall be unclean until the evening, —unclean, they are unto you.

അവയുടെ പിണം എടുക്കുന്നവർ തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം അലക്കണം, അവർ സന്ധ്യവരെ അശുദ്ധരായിരിക്കും. ഈ മൃഗങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് നിഷിദ്ധമാണ്.

29 And, these, unto you, shall be unclean, among the creeping things that creep upon the earth, —the weasel and the mouse, and the lizard after its kind;

“‘നിലത്തു സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്ന ജന്തുക്കളിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അശുദ്ധമായവ ഇവയാണ്: പെരുച്ചാഴി, എലി, എല്ലാ ഇനത്തിലുംപെട്ട ഉടുമ്പ്,

30 and the ferret and the chameleon and the wall-lizard, —and the winding lizard, and the mole.

അളുങ്ക്, ഓന്ത്, പല്ലി, അരണ, തുരപ്പൻ

31 These, are they which are unclean to you among all that creep, —whosoever toucheth them when they are dead shall be unclean until the evening;

നിലത്തു സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവകയിലും ഇവ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അശുദ്ധമാണ്. അവയുടെ ജഡം സ്പർശിക്കുന്നവരും സന്ധ്യവരെ അശുദ്ധരായിരിക്കും.

32 and, everything whereon any of them shall fall when they are dead shall be unclean—of any articles of wood, or cloth, or skin, or sackcloth, any article wherewith any work is done, —shall be put in water and shall be unclean until the evening, and then be clean,

അവയിലൊന്നു ചത്ത് എന്തിന്മേലെങ്കിലും വീണാൽ, ആ സാധനത്തിന്റെ ഉപയോഗമെന്തായാലും, അതു മരമോ വസ്ത്രമോ തുകലോ ചാക്കുശീലയോകൊണ്ട് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയതാണെങ്കിലും അശുദ്ധമായിരിക്കും. അതു വെള്ളത്തിൽ ഇടണം; അതു സന്ധ്യവരെ അശുദ്ധമായിരിക്കും, പിന്നെ അതു ശുദ്ധമാകും.

33 And, as for any earthen vessel whereinto any of them may fall, everything therein shall be unclean, and, the vessel itself, shall ye break in pieces.

അവയിലൊന്ന് ഒരു മൺപാത്രത്തിൽ വീണാൽ അതിലുള്ളതെല്ലാം അശുദ്ധമായിരിക്കും, നിങ്ങൾ ആ പാത്രം ഉടച്ചുകളയണം.

34 Of all the food that may be eaten, that whereon shall come water, shall be unclean, —and, all drink which might be drunk in any [such] vessel, shall be unclean.

ഭക്ഷിക്കാൻ അനുവാദമുള്ള ഏതെങ്കിലും ആഹാരത്തിൽ അങ്ങനെയുള്ള പാത്രത്തിലെ വെള്ളം വീണാൽ അത് അശുദ്ധമാകും. അതിലുള്ള ഏതു പാനീയവും അശുദ്ധമാകും.

35 And, everything whereon shall fall any part of the carcase of them shall be unclean, oven or fire-range, it shall be destroyed, unclean, they are, —and, unclean, Shall they remain to you.

അവയിലൊന്നിന്റെ പിണം എന്തിലെങ്കിലും വീണാൽ വീഴുന്നതെന്തായാലും അത് അശുദ്ധമാകും. അത് അടുപ്പായാലും പാചകപാത്രമായാലും ഉടച്ചുകളയണം. അവ അശുദ്ധമാണ്, അവയെ അശുദ്ധമായി പരിഗണിക്കണം.

36 Notwithstanding, a fountain or cistern wherein is a gathering of waters shall be clean, —but, he that toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean.

എന്നാൽ ഒരു ഉറവയോ ഒരു ജലസംഭരണിയോ ശുദ്ധമായിരിക്കും; ഈ പിണങ്ങളിലൊന്നു സ്പർശിക്കുന്ന വ്യക്തി അശുദ്ധനാണ്.

37 And when any part of the carcase of them shall fall upon seed for sowing, which is to be sown, the same is, clean.

നടാനുള്ള വിത്തിൽ ഒരു പിണം വീണാൽ. അത് ശുദ്ധമായിത്തന്നെയിരിക്കും.

38 But, when water shall be put upon seed, and there shall fall thereon any part of the carcase of them, unclean, it is to you.

എന്നാൽ വിത്തിൽ വെള്ളം ഒഴിച്ചുകഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു പിണം അതിന്മേൽ വീണാൽ അതു നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അശുദ്ധമാണ്.

39 And, when any of the beasts which are yours for food shall die, he that toucheth the carcase of it shall be unclean until the evening.

“‘നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഭക്ഷിക്കാൻ അനുവാദമുള്ള ഒരു മൃഗം ചത്താൽ അതിന്റെ പിണം തൊടുന്നവർ സന്ധ്യവരെ അശുദ്ധരായിരിക്കും.

40 And, he that eateth of the carcase of it, shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening, —he also that carrieth away the carcase thereof shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening.

ആ പിണത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നവർ തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം കഴുകണം. അവർ സന്ധ്യവരെ അശുദ്ധരായിരിക്കും. ആരെങ്കിലും ആ പിണം എടുത്താൽ അയാൾ തന്റെ വസ്ത്രം കഴുകണം, അയാൾ സന്ധ്യവരെ അശുദ്ധമായിരിക്കും.

41 And, any creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, an abomination, it is—it shall not be eaten.

“‘നിലത്ത് ഇഴയുന്ന എല്ലാ പ്രാണികളും നിങ്ങൾക്കു നിഷിദ്ധമാണ്; അതു ഭക്ഷിക്കരുത്.

42 Everything that goeth upon the belly, and everything that goeth upon all-fours, even to everything having many feet, as regardeth any creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, ye shall not eat them for, an abomination, they are.

ഉരസ്സുകൊണ്ടോ നാലുകാലുകൊണ്ടോ കൂടുതൽ കാലുകൾകൊണ്ടോ നിലത്തു ചരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു പ്രാണിയെയും നിങ്ങൾ തിന്നരുത്; അവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു നിഷിദ്ധം.

43 Do not make your persons abominable, with any creeping thing that creepeth, —neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should become unclean thereby.

ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള ഏതെങ്കിലും ഇഴജാതിമൂലം നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ അശുദ്ധരാക്കരുത്. അവ മുഖാന്തിരമോ അവയാലോ നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ അശുദ്ധരാക്കരുത്.

44 For, I—Yahweh, am your God, therefore shall ye hallow yourselves and remain holy; for, holy, am, I,—therefore shall ye not make your persons unclean, with any creeping thing that crawleth upon the earth;

ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു; ഞാൻ വിശുദ്ധനാകുകയാൽ നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു വിശുദ്ധരായിരിക്കുക. നിലത്തു സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ജീവിയാലും നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ അശുദ്ധരാക്കരുത്.

45 for, I—Yahweh, am he that brought you up out of the land of Egypt, that I might become your God, —therefore shall ye be holy, for, holy, am, I.

നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായിരിക്കാൻ, നിങ്ങളെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്ന് കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവ ഞാനാകുന്നു; ആകയാൽ, ഞാൻ വിശുദ്ധനാകുകയാൽ, നിങ്ങളും വിശുദ്ധരായിരിക്കുക.

46 This, is the law of beast and of bird, and of every living soul that moveth in the waters, —and as to every soul that creepeth upon the earth:

“‘മൃഗങ്ങളെയും പറവകളെയും ജലത്തിൽ ചരിക്കുന്ന ജീവികളെയും നിലത്തു ചരിക്കുന്ന ജീവികളെയും സംബന്ധിച്ച പ്രമാണം ഇവയാകുന്നു.

47 That ye may make a difference—between the unclean and the clean, —and between the living thing that may be eaten, and the living thing which may not be eaten.

നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ശുദ്ധവും അശുദ്ധവുംതമ്മിലും ഭക്ഷിക്കാവുന്നവയും ഭക്ഷിക്കരുതാത്തവയുമായ ജീവികൾതമ്മിലും തരംതിരിവുണ്ടായിരിക്കണം.’”
