Leviticus 11

1 And Yahweh spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying unto them:

೧ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮೋಶೆ ಆರೋನರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ,

2 Speak ye unto the sons of Israel saying, —These are the living things which ye may eat, of all the beasts which are upon the earth:

೨“ನೀವು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕು, ‘ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇವುಗಳ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಹುದು,

3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof and is cloven-footed, and cheweth the cud among beasts, that, may ye eat.

೩ಅವು ಯಾವುವೆಂದರೆ ಯಾವ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಯ ಕಾಲ್ಗೊರಸು ಸೀಳಿದೆಯೋ ಅದು ಮೆಲುಕುಹಾಕುವಂಥದಾದರೆ ಅದರ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಬಹುದು.

4 Nevertheless, these, shall ye not eat, of them that chew the cud, and of them that part the hoof, —the camel, because though he, cheweth the cud, yet, the hoof, he parteth not, unclean, he is to you;

೪ಆದರೆ ಯಾವ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಯು ಮೆಲಕು ಹಾಕಿದರೂ ಗೊರಸು ಸೀಳಲಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ ಮತ್ತು ಯಾವ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಯು ಗೊರಸು ಸೀಳಿದರೂ ಮೆಲಕು ಹಾಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ ಅವುಗಳ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು. ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗೆ, ಒಂಟೆಯು ಮೆಲಕುಹಾಕುವಂಥದು ಸರಿ; ಆದರೂ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸೀಳುಗೊರಸು ಇಲ್ಲವಾದುದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಅದರ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ಅಶುದ್ಧವೆಂದೆಣಿಸಬೇಕು.

5 And, the coney, because, though he cheweth the cud, yet, the hoof, he parteth not, —unclean, he is to you;

೫ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೊಲವೂ ಮೆಲಕುಹಾಕುವಂಥದು; ಆದರೂ ಸೀಳುಗೊರಸು ಇಲ್ಲವಾದುದರಿಂದ ಅದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧ.

6 And the hare, because though she cheweth the cud, yet the hoof, she parteth not, —unclean, she is to you;

೬ಮೊಲವೂ ಮೆಲಕುಹಾಕುವಂಥದು; ಆದರೂ ಸೀಳುಗೊರಸು ಇಲ್ಲವಾದ ಕಾರಣ ಅದೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧ.

7 And, the swine, because though he parteth the hoof, and is cloven-footed, yet, the cud, he cheweth not, —unclean, he is to you;

೭ಹಂದಿಯ ಗೊರಸು ಸೀಳಿದೆ; ಆದರೂ ಅದು ಮೆಲಕು ಹಾಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲವಾದುದರಿಂದ ಅದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧ.

8 Of their flesh, shall ye not eat, and, their carcase, shall ye not touch, —unclean, they are to you.

೮ಇವುಗಳ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು; ಇವುಗಳ ಹೆಣವನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಬಾರದು; ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಅಶುದ್ಧವೆಂದೆಣಿಸಬೇಕು.

9 these, may ye eat, of all that are in the waters, —all that have fins and scales in the waters, in the seas and in the rivers, them, may ye eat.

೯“‘ಜಲಜಂತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಹುದಾದವುಗಳು ಯಾವುವೆಂದರೆ ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿಯಾಗಲಿ, ನದಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯಾಗಲಿ, ಬೇರೆ ಜಲಾಶಯದಲ್ಲಿಯಾಗಲಿ ಯಾವ ಜಾತಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗೆ ರೆಕ್ಕೆ ಇದ್ದು ಮೈಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಪರೆಪರೆಯಾಗಿರುವುದೋ ಅದರ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಬಹುದು.

10 But, all that have not fins and scales, in the seas and in the rivers, of all that swarm in the waters, and of all the living souls that are in the waters, an abomination, they are unto you;

೧೦ಆದರೆ ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರೂ ಅಥವಾ ನದಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರೂ ಜಲಚರಗಳಾದ ಸಕಲವಿಧವಾದ ಜೀವಜಂತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ಜಾತಿಗೆ ರೆಕ್ಕೆಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಪರೆಪರೆಯಾದ ಮೈಯೂ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ ಅದು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಷಿದ್ಧವಾದದ್ದು.

11 and an abomination, shall they remain to you, —of their flesh, ye shall not eat, and their carcases, shall ye abhor.

೧೧ಅಂತಹವು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನಿಷಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಅವುಗಳ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು; ಅವುಗಳ ಹೆಣಗಳು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.

12 Whatsoever hath not fins and scales in the waters, an abomination, it is unto you.

೧೨ಜಲಜಂತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದಕ್ಕೆ ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳೂ, ಪರೆಪರೆಯಾದ ಮೈ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಅವು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.

13 And, these, shall ye abhor of birds, they shall not be eaten, an abomination, they are, —the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the osprey;

೧೩“‘ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಷಿದ್ಧವಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾದ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳು ಯಾವುವೆಂದರೆ ಗರುಡ, ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಹದ್ದು,

14 and the vulture, and the falcon, after its kind;

೧೪ಕ್ರೌಂಚ, ಹದ್ದು,

15 every raven, after its kind;

೧೫ಸಕಲವಿಧವಾದ ಗಿಡುಗ,

16 and the female ostrich, and the male ostrich, and the sea-gull, —and the hawk after its kind;

೧೬ಸಕಲವಿಧವಾದ ಕಾಗೆ, ಉಷ್ಟ್ರಪಕ್ಷಿ, ಉಲೂಕ, ಕಡಲಹಕ್ಕಿ, ಸಕಲವಿಧವಾದ ಡೇಗೆ,

17 and the pelican and the gannet, and the bittern;

೧೭ಗೂಬೆ, ಹೆಗ್ಗೂಬೆ, ನೀರುಕಾಗೆ,

18 and the swan and the vomiting pelican and the little vulture;

೧೮ಬಿಳಿಗೂಬೆ, ಕರೇಟು, ಕಣಜ ಗೂಬೆ, ರಣಹದ್ದು, ಕಡಲ ಡೇಗೆ,

19 and the stork, and the parrot, after its kind, —and the mountain-cock and the bat.

೧೯ಕೊಕ್ಕರೆ, ಸಕಲವಿಧವಾದ ಬಕ, ಹೆಡೆಹಕ್ಕಿ, ಕಣ್ಣಕಪಡಿ. ಇವುಗಳ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು.

20 Every creeping thing that flieth, that goeth on all-fours, an abomination, it is unto you.

೨೦“‘ರೆಕ್ಕೆಯುಳ್ಳವುಗಳಾಗಿ ಕಾಲುಗಳಿಂದ ಹರಿದಾಡುವ ಕ್ರಿಮಿಕೀಟಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಷಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.

21 Nevertheless, these, may ye eat, of all creeping things that fly, that go on all-fours, —such as have legs above their feet, to leap therewith, upon the earth—

೨೧ಆದರೆ ಕಾಲುಳ್ಳ ಯಾವ ಕ್ರಿಮಿಕೀಟಗಳಿಗೆ ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾರುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಮುದುರಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ತೊಡೆಗಳು ಇರುತ್ತವೆಯೋ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಹುದು.

22 these of them, may ye eat: the swarming-locust after its kind, and the devouring locust after its kind, —and the chargol-locust after its kind, and the chagab-locust after its kind.

೨೨ಸಕಲವಿಧವಾದ ಮಿಡತೆಗಳನ್ನು, ಬೋಳುಮಿಡತೆಗಳನ್ನು, ಜಿಟ್ಟಿಮಿಡತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಸಣ್ಣಮಿಡತೆ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತಿನ್ನಬಹುದು.

23 But every [other] creeping thing that flieth, which hath four feet, an abomination, it is unto you;

೨೩ರೆಕ್ಕೆಯುಳ್ಳವುಗಳಾಗಿ ಕಾಲುಗಳಿಂದ ಹರಿದಾಡುವ ಸಕಲವಿಧವಾದ ಕ್ರಿಮಿಕೀಟಗಳು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಷಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿವೆ.

24 and, for these, shall ye count yourselves unclean—whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the evening;

೨೪“‘ಅದಲ್ಲದೆ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೇಳಿರುವ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಪವಿತ್ರತೆ ಉಂಟಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಅವುಗಳ ಹೆಣ ಯಾವನಿಗೆ ಸೋಂಕುವುದೋ ಅವನು ಆ ದಿನದ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ವರೆಗೂ ಅಶುದ್ಧನಾಗಿರುವನು.

25 and whosoever beareth away aught of the carcase of them, shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening.

೨೫ಅವುಗಳ ಹೆಣವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿದವನು ತನ್ನ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದವರೆಗೂ ಅಶುದ್ಧನಾಗಿರುವನು.

26 As for every kind of beast which, though it parteth the hoof, yet is not cloven-footed nor cheweth the cud, unclean, they are unto you, —every one who toucheth them shall be unclean.

೨೬ಅವು ಯಾವುವೆಂದರೆ, ಯಾವ ಪಶುವಿನ ಗೊರಸು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಸೀಳಿದ್ದರೂ ಇಗ್ಗೊರಸಾಗಿಲ್ಲವೋ ಮತ್ತು ಮೆಲಕುಹಾಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ ಅದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧ. ಯಾರನ್ನು ಅವು ಸೋಂಕುವವೋ ಅವನು ಅಶುದ್ಧನಾಗುವನು.

27 And, all that go upon their paws, among all the living things that go on all-fours, unclean, they are unto you, —whoso toucheth the carcase of them, shall be unclean until the evening.

೨೭ಚತುಷ್ಪಾದ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂಗಾಲುಗಳಿಂದ ನಡೆಯುವ ಎಲ್ಲವುಗಳು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧವಾಗಿರುವವು; ಅವುಗಳ ಹೆಣವನ್ನು ಯಾರು ಮುಟ್ಟುವರೋ ಅವರು ಆ ದಿನದ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ವರೆಗೂ ಅಶುದ್ಧರಾಗಿರುವರು.

28 And, he that beareth away the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and shall be unclean until the evening, —unclean, they are unto you.

೨೮ಅವುಗಳ ಹೆಣವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿದವನು ತನ್ನ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಆ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ವರೆಗೂ ಅಶುದ್ಧನಾಗಿರುವನು. ಅವು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧ.

29 And, these, unto you, shall be unclean, among the creeping things that creep upon the earth, —the weasel and the mouse, and the lizard after its kind;

೨೯“‘ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಂಚರಿಸುವ ಸಣ್ಣ ಜಂತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧವಾದವುಗಳು ಯಾವುವೆಂದರೆ ಮುಂಗುಸಿ, ಇಲಿ, ಸಕಲವಿಧವಾದ ಉಡ,

30 and the ferret and the chameleon and the wall-lizard, —and the winding lizard, and the mole.

೩೦ಹಾವರಾಣಿ, ಊಸುರುವಳ್ಳಿ, ಹಲ್ಲಿ, ಬಸವನಹುಳ, ಚಿಟ್ಟಿಲಿ ಇವೇ.

31 These, are they which are unclean to you among all that creep, —whosoever toucheth them when they are dead shall be unclean until the evening;

೩೧ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಂಚರಿಸುವ ಈ ಅಶುದ್ಧವಾದ ಸಣ್ಣ ಜಂತುಗಳ ಹೆಣವನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟುವವನು ಆ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ವರೆಗೂ ಅಶುದ್ಧನಾಗಿರುವನು.

32 and, everything whereon any of them shall fall when they are dead shall be unclean—of any articles of wood, or cloth, or skin, or sackcloth, any article wherewith any work is done, —shall be put in water and shall be unclean until the evening, and then be clean,

೩೨ಇವುಗಳ ಹೆಣವು ಯಾವ ವಸ್ತುವಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಳುವುದೋ ಆ ವಸ್ತುವು ಅಶುದ್ಧವಾಗಿರುವುದು. ಅದು ಮರದ ವಸ್ತುವಾಗಲಿ ಬಟ್ಟೆಯಾಗಲಿ, ಚರ್ಮವಾಗಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಗೋಣಿಯಾಗಲಿ ಅದು ಎಂಥದಾದರೂ, ಯಾವ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಉಪಯೋಗವಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಅದನ್ನು ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆನಸಬೇಕು; ಅದು ಆ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ವರೆಗೂ ಅಶುದ್ಧವಾಗಿರುವುದು; ತರುವಾಯ ಶುದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುವುದು.

33 And, as for any earthen vessel whereinto any of them may fall, everything therein shall be unclean, and, the vessel itself, shall ye break in pieces.

೩೩ಆ ಜಂತುಗಳ ಹೆಣ ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದರೆ ಆ ಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವುದೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅಶುದ್ಧವಾಗಿರುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಆ ಪಾತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ನೀವು ಒಡೆದುಬಿಡಬೇಕು.

34 Of all the food that may be eaten, that whereon shall come water, shall be unclean, —and, all drink which might be drunk in any [such] vessel, shall be unclean.

೩೪ಅದರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ತಿನ್ನತಕ್ಕ ಪದಾರ್ಥವೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ನೆನದರೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧವಾಗುವುದು. ಪಾನ ದ್ರವ್ಯವು ಆ ಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದೂ ಅಶುದ್ಧವಾಗುವುದು.

35 And, everything whereon shall fall any part of the carcase of them shall be unclean, oven or fire-range, it shall be destroyed, unclean, they are, —and, unclean, Shall they remain to you.

೩೫ಆ ಜಂತುಗಳ ಹೆಣ ಯಾವ ಸಾಮಾನಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದರೂ ಆ ಸಾಮಾನು ಅಶುದ್ಧವಾಗುವುದು. ಒಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ಒಂಟಿ ಒಲೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಅಥವಾ ಜೋಡಿ ಒಲೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಅದು ಅಶುದ್ಧವಾದುದರಿಂದ ಅದನ್ನು ಒಡೆದುಬಿಡಬೇಕು; ಅದು ಅಶುದ್ಧವೇ.

36 Notwithstanding, a fountain or cistern wherein is a gathering of waters shall be clean, —but, he that toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean.

೩೬ಒರತೆ ಮೊದಲಾದ ಜಲಾಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ನೀವು ಶುದ್ಧವೆಂದೆಣಿಸಬೇಕು. ಆದರೆ ಇವುಗಳೊಳಗಿಂದ ಆ ಹೆಣವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿದವನು ಅಶುದ್ಧನಾಗುವನು.

37 And when any part of the carcase of them shall fall upon seed for sowing, which is to be sown, the same is, clean.

೩೭ಬಿತ್ತಬೇಕಾದ ಬೀಜದ ಮೇಲೆ ಈ ಜಂತುಗಳ ಹೆಣ ಬಿದ್ದರೆ ಆ ಬೀಜವು ಅಶುದ್ಧವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

38 But, when water shall be put upon seed, and there shall fall thereon any part of the carcase of them, unclean, it is to you.

೩೮ನೀರು ಹಾಕಿ ನೆನಸಿದ ಬೀಜದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ಹೆಣ ಬಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಶುದ್ಧ.

39 And, when any of the beasts which are yours for food shall die, he that toucheth the carcase of it shall be unclean until the evening.

೩೯“‘ಆಹಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾಗಿರುವ ಪಶುವು ಸತ್ತರೆ ಅದರ ಹೆಣವನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿದವನು ಆ ದಿನದ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ವರೆಗೂ ಅಶುದ್ಧನಾಗಿರುವನು.

40 And, he that eateth of the carcase of it, shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening, —he also that carrieth away the carcase thereof shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening.

೪೦ಆ ಹೆಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವಾಗಿ ತಿಂದರೂ ತನ್ನ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ಅವನು ಆ ದಿನದ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ವರೆಗೂ ಅಶುದ್ಧನಾಗಿರುವನು. ಆ ಹೆಣವನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತವನೂ ತನ್ನ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು; ಅವನು ಆ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ವರೆಗೂ ಅಶುದ್ಧನಾಗಿರುವನು.

41 And, any creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, an abomination, it is—it shall not be eaten.

೪೧“‘ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹರಿದಾಡುವ ಕ್ರಿಮಿಕೀಟಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗಿವೆ; ಅವುಗಳ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು.

42 Everything that goeth upon the belly, and everything that goeth upon all-fours, even to everything having many feet, as regardeth any creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, ye shall not eat them for, an abomination, they are.

೪೨ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯಿಂದ ಹರಿದು ಹೋಗುವುದನ್ನು, ಕಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಹರಿದಾಡುವಂಥದನ್ನು, ಬಹಳ ಕಾಲುಳ್ಳದ್ದನ್ನು ಅಂತೂ ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹರಿದಾಡುವ ಯಾವ ಸಣ್ಣ ಜೀವಿಯನ್ನು ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು; ಅವು ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗಿವೆ.

43 Do not make your persons abominable, with any creeping thing that creepeth, —neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should become unclean thereby.

೪೩ನೀವು ಅಂತಹ ಯಾವ ಸಣ್ಣ ಜೀವಿಯನ್ನು ತಿಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನೀವೇ ಹೇಸಿಗೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಅಶುದ್ಧರಾಗಬಾರದು.

44 For, I—Yahweh, am your God, therefore shall ye hallow yourselves and remain holy; for, holy, am, I,—therefore shall ye not make your persons unclean, with any creeping thing that crawleth upon the earth;

೪೪ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು; ನೀವು ದೇವಜನರಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಇರಬೇಕು. ನಾನು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧನಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನೀವೂ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧರಾಗಿರಬೇಕು. ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹರಿದಾಡುವ ಯಾವ ಜಂತುವಿನಿಂದಾದರೂ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು.

45 for, I—Yahweh, am he that brought you up out of the land of Egypt, that I might become your God, —therefore shall ye be holy, for, holy, am, I.

೪೫ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾಗಿರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಬರಮಾಡಿದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಾನೇ; ನಾನು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧನಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನೀವೂ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧರಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.

46 This, is the law of beast and of bird, and of every living soul that moveth in the waters, —and as to every soul that creepeth upon the earth:

೪೬“‘ಇದೇ ಪಶು, ಪಕ್ಷಿ, ಜಲಚರ ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ರಿಮಿಕೀಟಗಳ ವಿಷಯವಾದ ನಿಯಮ.

47 That ye may make a difference—between the unclean and the clean, —and between the living thing that may be eaten, and the living thing which may not be eaten.

೪೭ಇದರಿಂದ ಶುದ್ಧ ಹಾಗು ಅಶುದ್ಧಗಳನ್ನು, ತಿನ್ನಬಹುದಾದ ಜೀವಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದಾದ ಜೀವಿಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ವಿವೇಚಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಿಂದಾಗುವುದು.’”
