Leviticus 10
1 Then Aaron’s sons, Nadab and Abihu, took each man his censer and placed therein fire, and put thereon incense, —and brought near before Yahweh strange fire, which he had not commanded them.
Nadab aber und Abihu, die Söhne Aarons, nahmen ihre Kohlenpfannen, thaten Feuer hinein und legten Räucherwerk darauf und brachten so ein ungehöriges Feueropfer, das er ihnen nicht geboten hatte, vor Jahwe.
2 Then came there forth fire from before Yahweh, and consumed them, —and they died before Yahweh.
Da ging Feuer aus von Jahwe und verzehrte sie, so daß sie dort vor Jahwe starben.
3 Then said Moses unto Aaron—The very thing, that Yahweh spake, saying—In them that draw near to me, must I be hallowed, And before the faces of all the people, must I get myself honour, —And Aaron, was dumb.
Da sprach Mose zu Aaron: Hier erfüllt sich, was Jahwe angekündigt hat, indem er sprach: An denen, die mir nahe stehen, will ich meine Heiligkeit erweisen. Und vor allem Volke will ich mich verherrlichen. Aaron aber verhielt sich schweigend.
4 Then called Moses unto Mishael, and unto Elzaphan, sons of Uzziel, uncle of Aaron, —and said unto them—Draw near bear away your brethren from before the sanctuary, unto the outside of the camp.
Da rief Mose Misael und Elzaphan, sie Söhne Usiels, des Oheims Aarons, herbei und gebot ihnen: Tretet herzu und tragt eure Verwandten von dem Platze vor dem Heiligtum hinweg hinaus vor das Lager!
5 So they drew near and bare them away, in their tunics, unto the outside of the camp, —as spake Moses.
Da traten sie herzu und trugen sie in ihren Leibröcken hinaus vor das Lager, wie Mose geboten hatte.
6 Then said Moses unto Aaron and to Eleazar and to Ithamar, his sons—Your heads, ye may not bare and your garments, ye shall not rend so shall ye not die, neither against all the assembly, will he be wroth, —but let, your brethren the whole house of Israel, bewail the consuming fire wherewith Yahweh hath consumed.
Aaron aber und seinen Söhnen Eleasar und Ithamar gebot Mose: Ihr dürft eure Häupter nicht entblößen und eure Kleider nicht zerreißen; sonst müßtet ihr sterben, und er würde heftig auf die ganze Gemeinde zürnen! Eure Brüder aber, das ganze Haus Israel, mögen den Brand beweinen, den Jahwe angerichtet hat.
7 But, from the entrance of the tent of meeting, shall ye not go forth, lest ye die, for, the anointing oil of Yahweh is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.
Auch dürft ihr nicht zur Thüre des Offenbarungszeltes hinausgehen, damit ihr nicht sterbt; denn das Salböl Jahwes ist auf euch! Sie aber thaten nach Moses Geheiß.
8 Then spake Yahweh unto Aaron, saying:
Und Jahwe redete mit Aaron also:
9 Wine and strong drink, thou mayest not drink, —thou nor thy sons with thee when ye enter into the tent of meeting, so shall ye not die, —an age-abiding statute to your generations;
Wein und berauschendes Getränk dürft ihr - du und deine Söhne - nicht trinken, wenn ihr ins Offenbarungszelt hineingeht, sonst müßt ihr sterben. Das ist eine für alle Zeiten geltende Satzung, die ihr beobachten sollt von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht.
10 That ye may make a difference, between the sacred and the common, —and between the unclean and the clean;
Und ihr sollt unterscheiden zwischen dem, was heilig, und dem, was nicht heilig ist, zwischen dem, was unrein, und dem, was rein ist,
11 And may teach the sons of Israel, —all the statutes which Yahweh hath spoken unto them, by the mediation of Moses.
und sollt die Israeliten alle die Satzungen lehren, die ihnen Jahwe durch Mose verkündigt hat.
12 Then spake Moses unto Aaron and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar his sons that were left, Take ye the meal-offering that is left of the altar-flames of Yahweh, and eat it unleavened beside the altar, —for, most holy, it is;
Und Mose gebot Aaron, sowie Eleasar und Ithamar, die ihm von seinen Söhnen noch geblieben waren: Nehmt das Speisopfer, das von den Jahwe dargebrachten Feueropfern noch übrig ist, und eßt es ungesäuert neben dem Altar, denn es ist hochheilig.
13 therefore shall ye eat it in a holy place, for, thine by statute, and thy sons’ by statute, it is, from among the altar-flames of Yahweh, —for, so, am I commanded.
Darum sollt ihr es an heiliger Stätte essen, denn es ist die Gebühr, die dir und deinen Söhnen von den Feueropfern zufällt - so ist mir's geboten!
14 And the wave-breast, and the heave-shoulder, shall ye eat in clean place, thou, and thy sons and thy daughters with thee, —for as thine by statute and thy sons’ by statute, have they been given, from among the peace-offerings of the sons of Israel.
Die Webebrust aber und die Hebekeule sollst du neben deinen Söhnen und Töchtern an reiner Stätte essen, denn sie sind verliehen als die Gebühr, die dir und deinen Kindern von den Heilsopfern der Israeliten zufällt.
15 The heave-shoulder and the wave-breast upon the altar-flames of the fat portions, shall they bring in, to wave as a wave-offering, before Yahweh, —so shall they be thine, and thy sons’ with thee, by an age-abiding statute, As Yahweh hath commanded.
Die Hebekeule und die Webebrust soll man neben den zu Feueropfern bestimmten Fettstücken bringen, damit sie als Webe vor Jahwe gewebt werden; dann sollen sie dir und deinen Kindern als eine für alle Zeiten feststehende Gebühr zufallen, wie Jahwe befohlen hat.
16 Now, as for the sin-bearing goat, Moses diligently sought it but lo! it had been burnt up, —then was he wroth against Eleazar and against Ithamar, the sons of Aaron that were left, saying:
Als sich nun Mose angelegentlich nach dem Sündopfer-Bock erkundigte, befand sich, daß er verbrannt war. Da zürnte er heftig auf Eleasar und Ithamar, die Söhne Aarons, die diesem noch geblieben waren, und fragte:
17 Wherefore did ye not eat the sin-bearer in the holy place? for most, holy, it is, —and thee same, hath he given you that ye may bear the iniquity of the assembly, to put a propitiatory-covering over them before Yahweh.
Warum habt ihr denn das Sündopfer nicht gegessen an heiliger Stätte? Denn es ist hochheilig, und er hat es euch verliehen, um die Verschuldung der Gemeinde hinwegzuschaffen und ihnen Sühne vor Jahwe zu erwirken.
18 Lo! the blood thereof had not been taken into the holy place, within, —ye should have, indeed eaten, it, in a holy place, as I commanded.
Ist ja doch sein Blut nicht ins Innere des Heiligtums gebracht worden; somit mußtet ihr es essen im heiligen Bezirke, wie ich befohlen hatte.
19 Then spake Aaron unto Moses—Lo! this very day, when they had brought near their own sin-bearer, and their own ascending-sacrifice, there befell me such things as these, —if, then, I had eaten of the sin-bearer this day, would it have been well-pleasing in the eyes of Yahweh?
Da antwortete Aaron Mose: Bedenke, sie haben heute ihr Sündopfer und ihr Brandopfer vor Jahwe dargebracht, und mich betraf dennoch solches; wenn ich nun heute Sündopferfleisch genießen wollte, würde das wohl Jahwe gefallen?
20 And, when Moses heard that, then was it well-pleasing in his eyes.
Als Mose das hörte, ließ er sich's gefallen.
