Lamentations 1
1 How is seated alone, the city that abounded with people, hath become as a widow, —She who abounded among the nations was a princess among provinces, hath come under tribute.
അയ്യോ, ജനപൂർണ്ണയായിരുന്ന നഗരം ഏകാന്തയായിരിക്കുന്നതെങ്ങനെ? ജാതികളിൽ മഹതിയായിരുന്നവൾ വിധവയെപ്പോലെ ആയതെങ്ങനെ? സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളുടെ നായകിയായിരുന്നവൾ ഊഴിയവേലക്കാരത്തിയായതെങ്ങനെ?
2 She, weepeth sore, in the night, and, her tear, is on her cheek, She hath none to comfort her, of all her lovers, —All her friends, have betrayed her, have become her foes.
രാത്രിയിൽ അവൾ കരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവളുടെ കവിൾത്തടങ്ങളിൽ കണ്ണുനീർ കാണുന്നു; അവളുടെ സകലപ്രിയന്മാരിലും അവളെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിപ്പാൻ ആരുമില്ല; അവളുടെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാരൊക്കെയും അവൾക്കു ശത്രുക്കളായി ദ്രോഹം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
3 Carried away captive is Judah—because of oppression, and because of great servitude, She, hath remained among the nations, hath found no place of rest, —All her pursuers, have overtaken her, between straits.
കഷ്ടതയും കഠിനദാസ്യവുംനിമിത്തം യെഹൂദാ പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകേണ്ടിവന്നു; അവൾ ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ പാർക്കുന്നു; വിശ്രാമം കണ്ടെത്തുന്നതുമില്ല; അവളെ പിന്തുടരുന്നവരൊക്കെയും ഇടുക്കിടങ്ങളിൽവെച്ചു അവളെ എത്തിപ്പിടിക്കുന്നു.
4 The ways to Zion, are mourning, because none come to her appointed feasts, All her gates, are desolate, her priests, are sighing, —her virgins, are grieved, and, she, it is bitter for her.
ഉത്സവത്തിന്നു ആരും വരായ്കകൊണ്ടു സീയോനിലേക്കുള്ള വഴികൾ ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നു; അവളുടെ വാതിലുകളൊക്കെയും ശൂന്യമായി. പുരോഹിതന്മാർ നെടുവീർപ്പിടുന്നു; അവളുടെ കന്യകമാർ ഖേദിക്കുന്നു; അവൾക്കും വ്യസനം പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
5 Her adversaries have become chief, her foes, are at ease, for, Yahweh, hath grieved her, because of the multitude of her transgressions, —Her children, have gone into captivity, before the adversary.
അവളുടെ അതിക്രമബാഹുല്യംനിമിത്തം യഹോവ അവൾക്കു സങ്കടം വരുത്തിയതിനാൽ അവളുടെ വൈരികൾക്കു പ്രാധാന്യം ലഭിച്ചു, അവളുടെ ശത്രുക്കൾ ശുഭമായിരിക്കുന്നു; അവളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങൾ വൈരിയുടെ മുമ്പായി പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകേണ്ടിവന്നു.
6 Thus hath gone forth from the daughter of Zion, all that adorned her, —Her princes have become like harts that have found no pasture, and have gone strengthless before the pursuer.
സീയോൻ പുത്രിയുടെ മഹത്വമൊക്കെയും അവളെ വിട്ടുപോയി; അവളുടെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ മേച്ചൽ കാണാത്ത മാനുകളെപ്പോലെ ആയി; പിന്തുടരുന്നവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ അവർ ശക്തിയില്ലാതെ നടക്കുന്നു.
7 Jerusalem hath remembered in the days of her humiliation and her fleeings—all her precious things, which have existed from the days of old, —Now that her people have been falling into the hand of the adversary, with none to help her, the adversaries have seen her, have mocked over her sabbath-keepings.
കഷ്ടാരിഷ്ടതകളുടെ കാലത്തു യെരൂശലേം പണ്ടത്തെ മനോഹരവസ്തുക്കളെയൊക്കെയും ഓർക്കുന്നു; സഹായിപ്പാൻ ആരുമില്ലാതെ അവളുടെ ജനം വൈരിയുടെ കയ്യിൽ അകപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ, വൈരികൾ അവളെ നോക്കി അവളുടെ നാശത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ചിരിച്ചു.
8 Jerusalem, hath grievously sinned, For this cause, unto exile, hath she been delivered, —All who used to honour her, have despised her, for they have descried her unseemliness, yea, she herself, hath sighed, and turned back.
യെരൂശലേം കഠിനപാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു മലിനയായിരിക്കുന്നു; അവളെ ബഹുമാനിച്ചവരൊക്കെയും അവളുടെ നഗ്നത കണ്ടിട്ടു അവളെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നു; അവളോ നെടുവീർപ്പിട്ടുകൊണ്ടു പിന്നോക്കം തിരിയുന്നു.
9 Her impurity, is in her skirts, She hath not remembered her hereafter, Therefore hath she come down wonderfully, none to comfort her, —Behold, O Yahweh, my humiliation, that the foe, hath made himself great.
അവളുടെ മലിനത ഉടുപ്പിന്റെ വിളുമ്പിൽ കാണുന്നു; അവൾ ഭാവികാലം ഓർത്തില്ല; അവൾ അതിശയമാംവണ്ണം വീണുപോയി; അവളെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിപ്പാൻ ആരുമില്ല; യഹോവേ, ശത്രു വമ്പു പറയുന്നു; എന്റെ സങ്കടം നോക്കേണമേ.
10 His hand, hath the adversary spread out, over all her precious things, —for she saw that, the nations, entered her sanctuary, as to whom thou didst command they should not enter—in the convocation—unto thee!
അവളുടെ സകലമനോഹരവസ്തുക്കളിന്മേലും വൈരി കൈവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ സഭയിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കരുതെന്നു നീ കല്പിച്ച ജാതികൾ അവളുടെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിൽ കടന്നതു അവൾ കണ്ടുവല്ലോ.
11 All her people, are sighing, seeking bread, They have given their precious things for food, to bring back life, —Behold, O Yahweh, and discern, that I have become worthless.
അവളുടെ സർവ്വജനവും നെടുവീർപ്പിട്ടുകൊണ്ടു ആഹാരം തിരയുന്നു; വിശപ്പടക്കുവാൻ ആഹാരത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ മനോഹര വസ്തുക്കളെ കൊടുത്തുകളയുന്നു; യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ നിന്ദിതയായിരിക്കുന്നതു കടാക്ഷിക്കേണമേ.
12 Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? Look around and see, whether there is pain like my pain, which is severely dealt out to me, —in that Yahweh, hath caused grief, in the day of the glow of his anger?
കടന്നുപോകുന്ന ഏവരുമായുള്ളോരേ, ഇതു നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഏതുമില്ലയോ? യഹോവ തന്റെ ഉഗ്രകോപദിവസത്തിൽ ദുഃഖിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന എനിക്കു അവൻ വരുത്തിയ വ്യസനം പോലെ ഒരു വ്യസനം ഉണ്ടോ എന്നു നോക്കുവിൻ!
13 From on high, sent he fire, among my bones, and laid them prostrate, —He spread out a net for my feet, he made me turn back, he made me desolate, all the day, faint.
ഉയരത്തിൽനിന്നു അവൻ എന്റെ അസ്ഥികളിൽ തീ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു കടന്നുപിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ കാലിന്നു അവൻ വല വിരിച്ചു, എന്നെ മടക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു; അവൻ എന്നെ ശൂന്യയും നിത്യരോഗിണിയും ആക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
14 The yoke of my transgressions, hath been bound, by his hand—They have intertwined themselves, have come up on my neck, it hath paralysed my strength, —My Lord, hath delivered me, into the hands of those against whom I cannot rise up.
എന്റെ അതിക്രമങ്ങളുടെ നുകം അവൻ സ്വന്തകയ്യാൽ പിണെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ എന്റെ കഴുത്തിൽ പിണെഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ എന്റെ ശക്തി ക്ഷയിപ്പിച്ചു; എനിക്കു എതിർത്തുനില്പാൻ കഴിയാത്തവരുടെ കയ്യിൽ കർത്താവു എന്നെ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
15 My Lord, hath flouted at all my magnates, in my midst, He hath called against me a host, to crush my young men, —A winepress, hath My Lord trodden, to the virgin, the daughter of Judah.
എന്റെ നടുവിലെ സകലബലവാന്മാരെയും കർത്താവു നിരസിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; എന്റെ യൗവനക്കാരെ തകർത്തുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻ എന്റെ നേരെ ഒരു ഉത്സവയോഗം വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി; യെഹൂദാപുത്രിയായ കന്യകയെ കർത്താവു ചക്കിൽ ഇട്ടു ചിവിട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
16 For these things, am, I, weeping, Mine eye, mine eye, is running down with waters, for, far from me, is any who could comfort, could bring back my life, —My sons are amazed, for strong is the foe.
ഇതുനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ കരയുന്നു; എന്റെ കണ്ണു കണ്ണുനീരൊഴുക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ തണുപ്പിക്കേണ്ടുന്ന ആശ്വാസപ്രദൻ എന്നോടു അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ശത്രു പ്രബലനായിരിക്കയാൽ എന്റെ മക്കൾ നശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
17 Zion, hath spread forth, her hands, there is none to comfort her, Yahweh, hath given command, respecting Jacob, unto them who surround him—his adversaries, —Jerusalem, hath become as a removed woman, in their midst.
സീയോൻ കൈ മലർത്തുന്നു; അവളെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിപ്പാൻ ആരുമില്ല; യഹോവ യാക്കോബിന്നു അവന്റെ ചുറ്റും വൈരികളെ കല്പിച്ചാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; യെരൂശലേം അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ മലിനയായിരിക്കുന്നു.
18 Righteous is Yahweh, for, against his bidding, had I rebelled, —Hear, I pray you, all ye peoples, and see my pain, My virgins and my young men, have gone into exile.
യഹോവ നീതിമാൻ; ഞാൻ അവന്റെ കല്പനയോടു മത്സരിച്ചു; സകലജാതികളുമായുള്ളോരേ, കേൾക്കേണമേ, എന്റെ വ്യസനം കാണേണമേ; എന്റെ കന്യകമാരും യൗവനക്കാരും പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോയിരിക്കുന്നു.
19 I called to my lovers, they, deceived me, My priests and mine elders, in the city, have breathed their last, —for they sought them food, that they might bring back their life.
ഞാൻ എന്റെ പ്രിയന്മാരെ വിളിച്ചു; അവരോ എന്നെ ചതിച്ചു; എന്റെ പുരോഹിതന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും വിശപ്പടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ആഹാരം തിരഞ്ഞുനടക്കുമ്പോൾ നഗരത്തിൽവെച്ചു പ്രാണനെ വിട്ടു.
20 See, O Yahweh, that I am in distress, Mine inward parts, are in ferment, My heart is turned within me, for I have obstinately rebelled, —Without, bereaveth the sword, Within, is like death,
യഹോവേ, നോക്കേണമേ; ഞാൻ വിഷമത്തിലായി, എന്റെ ഉള്ളം കലങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ കഠിനമായി മത്സരിക്കകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ ഹൃദയം എന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ മറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; പുറമേ വാൾ സന്തതിനാശം വരുത്തുന്നു; വീട്ടിലോ മരണം തന്നേ.
21 They have heard—that, sighing am, I, [and am saying] —There is none to comfort me, All my foes, —having heard of my calamity—have rejoiced, because, thou, hast done it, —thou hast brought in the day thou didst proclaim, So let them become like me.
ഞാൻ നെടുവീർപ്പിടുന്നതു അവർ കേട്ടു; എന്നെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിപ്പാൻ ആരുമില്ല; എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളൊക്കെയും എന്റെ അനർത്ഥം കേട്ടു, നീ അതു വരുത്തിയതുകൊണ്ടു സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു; നീ കല്പിച്ച ദിവസം നീ വരുത്തും; അന്നു അവരും എന്നെപ്പോലെയാകും.
22 Let all their wickedness, come in, before thee, and deal thou severely with them, according as thou hast dealt severely with me, for all my transgressions; for many are my sighs, and, my heart, is sick.
അവരുടെ ദുഷ്ടതയൊക്കെയും തിരുമുമ്പിൽ വരട്ടെ; എന്റെ സകല അതിക്രമങ്ങളും നിമിത്തം നീ എന്നോടു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അവരോടും ചെയ്യേണമേ; എന്റെ നെടുവീർപ്പു വളരെയല്ലോ; എന്റെ ഹൃദയം രോഗാർത്തമായിരിക്കുന്നു.
