< Lamentations 1 >

1 How is seated alone, the city that abounded with people, hath become as a widow, —She who abounded among the nations was a princess among provinces, hath come under tribute.
“Aleke du si yɔ fũu kple amewo tsã la ɖi gbɔlo ale! Du si nye du gã le duwo dome la le azɔ abe ahosi ene! Duwo ƒe Fianyɔnu zu kluvi egbe.
2 She, weepeth sore, in the night, and, her tear, is on her cheek, She hath none to comfort her, of all her lovers, —All her friends, have betrayed her, have become her foes.
“Ele avi fam hehehe le zã me eye aɖatsi tsi alɔgo dzi nɛ. Eƒe ahiãvi gbogboawo dometɔ aɖeke meli afa akɔ nɛ o. Xɔlɔ̃ lɔlɔ̃wo katã trɔ le eyome hezu eƒe futɔwo.
3 Carried away captive is Judah—because of oppression, and because of great servitude, She, hath remained among the nations, hath found no place of rest, —All her pursuers, have overtaken her, between straits.
“Le teteɖeanyi kple dzizizidɔ sesẽwo megbe la, Yuda yi ɖe aboyo me. Ele dukɔwo dome gake mekpɔ gbɔɖemeƒe o. Ame siwo katã le eyome tim la ke ɖe eŋu le xaxa me.
4 The ways to Zion, are mourning, because none come to her appointed feasts, All her gates, are desolate, her priests, are sighing, —her virgins, are grieved, and, she, it is bitter for her.
“Zion mɔwo le konyi fam elabena ame aɖeke megazɔa wo dzi yina ɖe eƒe azãwo ɖuƒe o. Eƒe agbowo gbã, eye eƒe nunɔlawo le hũu ɖem. Eƒe ɖetugbiwo le konyi fam eye eya ŋutɔ le veve helĩhelĩ me.
5 Her adversaries have become chief, her foes, are at ease, for, Yahweh, hath grieved her, because of the multitude of her transgressions, —Her children, have gone into captivity, before the adversary.
“Eƒe futɔwo zu edziɖulawo eye eƒe ketɔwo ɖe dzi ɖi. Yehowa do hiã nɛ le eƒe nu vɔ̃ gbogboawo ta. Viawo yi ɖe aboyo me, eye wozu aʋaléleawo le futɔwo ŋgɔ.
6 Thus hath gone forth from the daughter of Zion, all that adorned her, —Her princes have become like harts that have found no pasture, and have gone strengthless before the pursuer.
“Zion vinyɔnu ƒe atsyɔ̃wo katã dzo le eŋu. Eƒe dumegãwo le abe zi siwo mekpɔ gbeɖuƒe aɖeke o, eye le gbɔdzɔgbɔdzɔ me wosi le wo yometilawo ŋgɔ ene.
7 Jerusalem hath remembered in the days of her humiliation and her fleeings—all her precious things, which have existed from the days of old, —Now that her people have been falling into the hand of the adversary, with none to help her, the adversaries have seen her, have mocked over her sabbath-keepings.
“Yerusalem ɖo ŋku eƒe kesinɔnu siwo nɔ esi le blemaŋkekewo me la dzi, le eƒe xaxa kple tsaglalãtsatsa ƒe ŋkekewo me. Esi eƒe amewo dze futɔwo ƒe asi me la, ame aɖeke meli akpe ɖe eŋu o. Eƒe futɔwo nye kɔ kpɔe eye wokoe le eƒe aƒedozuzu ta.
8 Jerusalem, hath grievously sinned, For this cause, unto exile, hath she been delivered, —All who used to honour her, have despised her, for they have descried her unseemliness, yea, she herself, hath sighed, and turned back.
“Yerusalem ƒe nu vɔ̃wo lolo eya ta wòzu ame makɔmakɔ. Ame siwo dea bubu eŋu tsã la le vlo domi, elabena wokpɔ eƒe amame, eya ŋutɔ ɖe hũu hetrɔ dzo.
9 Her impurity, is in her skirts, She hath not remembered her hereafter, Therefore hath she come down wonderfully, none to comfort her, —Behold, O Yahweh, my humiliation, that the foe, hath made himself great.
“Eƒe ɖiƒoƒo lé ɖe eƒe avɔto, elabena mebu etsɔ me kpɔ o. Eƒe anyidzedze wɔ nuku eye ame aɖeke meli si afa akɔ nɛ o. “O, Yehowa, nye kɔ, kpɔ nye vevesese ɖa elabena ketɔ la ɖu dzi.”
10 His hand, hath the adversary spread out, over all her precious things, —for she saw that, the nations, entered her sanctuary, as to whom thou didst command they should not enter—in the convocation—unto thee!
Futɔ la do asi ɖe eƒe kesinɔnuwo katã gbɔ; ekpɔ trɔ̃subɔdukɔwo, ame siwo mèɖe mɔ be woage ɖe wò asaɖa me o la ge ɖe wò kɔkɔeƒe la.
11 All her people, are sighing, seeking bread, They have given their precious things for food, to bring back life, —Behold, O Yahweh, and discern, that I have become worthless.
Eƒe amewo katã le tsatsam le abolo dim kple ŋeŋe, wotsɔa woƒe kesinɔnu veviwo ɖɔa li nuɖuɖu be woanɔ agbe. “O, Yehowa, kpɔ ale si wodo vlom la ɖa.”
12 Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? Look around and see, whether there is pain like my pain, which is severely dealt out to me, —in that Yahweh, hath caused grief, in the day of the glow of his anger?
“Mi ame siwo katã to afi ma yi, ɖe mewɔ naneke na mi oa? Mitsa ŋku miakpɔe ɖa! Ɖe fukpekpe aɖe le abe esi wohe va dzinye, esi Yehowa he va dzinye le eƒe dziku helĩhelĩ ƒe ŋkekewo me la enea?
13 From on high, sent he fire, among my bones, and laid them prostrate, —He spread out a net for my feet, he made me turn back, he made me desolate, all the day, faint.
“Eɖo dzo ɖa tso dziƒo, ena wòɖiɖi ɖe nye ƒuwo me. Eɖo ɖɔ na nye afɔwo eye wògbugbɔm ɖe megbe. Ewɔm mezu gbegbe heku ƒenyi ŋkeke blibo la katã.
14 The yoke of my transgressions, hath been bound, by his hand—They have intertwined themselves, have come up on my neck, it hath paralysed my strength, —My Lord, hath delivered me, into the hands of those against whom I cannot rise up.
“Ebla nye nu vɔ̃wo abe kɔkuti ene, etsɔ eƒe asiwo lɔ̃e wode nu wo nɔewo me. Woɖiɖi ɖe nye kɔʋume eye Aƒetɔ la ɖe nye ŋusẽ ɖa. Etsɔm de asi na ame siwo nu nyemate ŋu anɔ te ɖo o.
15 My Lord, hath flouted at all my magnates, in my midst, He hath called against me a host, to crush my young men, —A winepress, hath My Lord trodden, to the virgin, the daughter of Judah.
“Aƒetɔ la gbe nu le kalẽtɔ siwo katã le donyeme la gbɔ, eɖo aʋakɔ ɖa be woato nye ɖekakpuiwo nyanyanya. Le eƒe wainfiaƒe, Aƒetɔ la fanya Yuda Vinyɔnuwo.
16 For these things, am, I, weeping, Mine eye, mine eye, is running down with waters, for, far from me, is any who could comfort, could bring back my life, —My sons are amazed, for strong is the foe.
“Esia ta mefa avi eye nye ŋkuwo fa aɖatsi blobloblo. Ame aɖeke metsɔ ɖe gbɔnye afa akɔ nam o eye ame aɖeke meli si agbɔ agbe nye luʋɔ o. Vinyewo zu hiãtɔwo elabena futɔ ƒe alɔ yi dzi.”
17 Zion, hath spread forth, her hands, there is none to comfort her, Yahweh, hath given command, respecting Jacob, unto them who surround him—his adversaries, —Jerusalem, hath become as a removed woman, in their midst.
Zion ke eƒe abɔwo me gake ame aɖeke meli si afa akɔ nɛ o. Yehowa gblɔ nya ɖi ɖe Yakob ŋu be eƒe aƒelikawo nanye eƒe futɔwo eye Yerusalem va zu ŋunyɔnu le wo dome.
18 Righteous is Yahweh, for, against his bidding, had I rebelled, —Hear, I pray you, all ye peoples, and see my pain, My virgins and my young men, have gone into exile.
“Yehowa le dzɔdzɔe, gake metsi tsitre ɖe eƒe se la ŋu. Miɖo to, mi amewo katã, mikpɔ nye fukpekpewo ɖa. Nye ɖekakpuiwo kple ɖetugbiwo katã yi aboyo me.
19 I called to my lovers, they, deceived me, My priests and mine elders, in the city, have breathed their last, —for they sought them food, that they might bring back their life.
“Meyɔ xɔ̃nyewo gake woflum. Nye nunɔlawo kple dumegãwo siaa tsrɔ̃ le dua me esime wonɔ tsatsam le nuɖuɖu dim be woaɖu atsi agbe.
20 See, O Yahweh, that I am in distress, Mine inward parts, are in ferment, My heart is turned within me, for I have obstinately rebelled, —Without, bereaveth the sword, Within, is like death,
“O Yehowa, kpɔ ale si metsi dzodzodzoe ɖa! Nye ameti blibo la metɔtɔ eye nye dzi hã le fu ɖem nam elabena medze aglã vevie. Yi le nu gblẽm le gota; eye le eme la, ku koe li.
21 They have heard—that, sighing am, I, [and am saying] —There is none to comfort me, All my foes, —having heard of my calamity—have rejoiced, because, thou, hast done it, —thou hast brought in the day thou didst proclaim, So let them become like me.
“Amewo se nye ŋeŋe gake ame aɖeke meli afa akɔ nam o. Nye futɔwo katã se nye dzɔgbevɔ̃eŋkɔ eye wodzɔ dzi le nu si nèwɔ ta. Na be ŋkeke si ƒe gbeƒã nèɖe la nava be woawo hã nanɔ abe nye ene.
22 Let all their wickedness, come in, before thee, and deal thou severely with them, according as thou hast dealt severely with me, for all my transgressions; for many are my sighs, and, my heart, is sick.
“Na be woƒe nu vɔ̃ɖi wɔwɔwo katã nava ŋkuwò me; wɔ na wo abe ale si nèwɔm le nye nu vɔ̃wo katã ta la ene. Nye hũuɖeɖe sɔ gbɔ eye nu te nye dzi ŋuti.”
