Judges 2
1 And the messenger of Yahweh came up from Gilgal, unto Bochim. And he said—I led you up out of Egypt, and brought you into the land, which I had sworn unto your fathers, And I said, I will not break my covenant with you, to times age-abiding;
Ug ang manolonda ni Jehova mitungas gikan sa Gilgal ngadto sa Bochim. Ug siya miingon: Ako nagpagula kaninyo gikan sa Egipto, ug nagdala kaninyo ngadto sa yuta nga akong gipanumpa sa inyong mga amahan; ug ako nag-ingon: Dili ko gayud paglapason ang akong tugon uban kaninyo.
2 But, ye, must not solemnise a covenant with the inhabitants of this land, Their altars, must ye tear down, —But ye have not hearkened unto my voice, what is this ye have done?
Ug dili kamo maghimo ug pakigsaad uban sa mga molupyo niining yutaa, gun-obon ninyo ang ilang mga halaran. Apan kamo wala mamati sa akong tingog: nganong gibuhat ninyo kini?
3 Wherefore also I said, I will not drive them out from before you, —but they shall be your adversaries, and, their gods, shall become unto you a snare.
Sa ingon niini ako usab miingon: Ako dili magpapahawa kanila gikan sa inyong atubangan: apan sila mahimo nga ingon sa mga tunok sa inyong mga kilid ug ang ilang mga dios maoy usa ka lit-ag kaninyo.
4 And it came to pass, when the messenger of Yahweh had spoken these words unto all the sons of Israel, that the people lifted up their voice, and wept.
Ug nahitabo sa diha nga ang manolonda ni Jehova namulong niining mga pulonga sa tanang mga anak sa Israel nga ang katawohan mingpatugbaw sa ilang tingog ug nanghilak.
5 So they called the name of that place, Bochim, and offered sacrifice there, unto Yahweh.
Ug gitawag nila ang ngalan niadtong dapita Bochim: ug didto nanaghalad sila kang Jehova.
6 Now, when Joshua had let the people go, the sons of Israel went their way, every man to his inheritance, to take possession of the land.
Karon sa diha nga gipagula ni Josue ang katawohan, ang mga anak sa Israel ming-adto ang tagsatagsa ka tawo sa iyang panulondon aron sa pagpanag-iya sa yuta.
7 And the people served Yahweh all the days of Joshua, —and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great work of Yahweh which he had wrought for Israel.
Ug ang katawohan nag-alagad kang Jehova sa tanang mga adlaw ni Josue, ug sa tanang mga adlaw sa mga anciano nga nangabuhi ug dugay sa sunod ni Josue, nga nanagpakita sa mga dagkung buhat ni Jehova nga iyang gihimo alang sa Israel.
8 So then Joshua, the son of Nun, the servant of Yahweh, died, —being a hundred and ten years old.
Ug si Josue ang anak nga lalake ni Nun, ang ulipon ni Jehova, namatay nga may usa ka gatus ug napulo ka tuig ang panuigon.
9 And they buried him within the bounds of his inheritance, in Timnath-heres, in the hill country of Ephraim, —on the north of Mount Gaash.
Ug ilang gilubong siya sa utlanan sa iyang panulondon sa Timnathsera, didto dapit sa kabungtoran sa Ephraim, sa amihanan sa bukid sa Gaas.
10 All that generation also, were gathered unto their fathers, —and there arose another generation, after them, who had not known Yahweh, nor even the work which he had wrought for Israel.
Ug usab ang tanan nianang kaliwatana gitipon ngadto sa ilang mga amahan: ug didto mitungha ang laing kaliwatan sunod kanila, nga wala managpakaila kang Jehova, ni sa iyang buhat nga iyang gihimo alang sa Israel.
11 So the sons of Israel did the thing that was wicked in the sight of Yahweh, —and served the Baals;
Ug ang mga anak sa Israel naghimo niadtong dautan sa mga mata ni Jehova, ug nanag-alagad sa mga Baal.
12 and forsook Yahweh, the God of their fathers, who brought them up out of the land of Egypt, and went after other gods, from among the gods of the peoples who were round about them, and bowed themselves down unto them, —and angered Yahweh.
Ug ilang gibiyaan si Jehova, ang Dios sa ilang mga amahan nga nagdala kanila gikan sa yuta sa Egipto, ug nanagsunod sa laing mga dios, sa mga dios sa mga katawohan nga naglibut kanila, ug nanagyukbo sa ilang kaugalingon ngadto kanila: ug ilang gihagit si Jehova sa kasuko.
13 Yea, they forsook Yahweh, —and did service unto the Baal and unto Ashtaroth.
Ug ilang gibiyaan si Jehova, ug nanag-alagad kang Baal ug kang Astaroth.
14 Then kindled the anger of Yahweh upon Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of spoilers, who plundered them, —and he sold them into the hand of their enemies round about, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies.
Ug ang kasuko ni Jehova misilaub batok sa Israel, ug siya naghatag kanila ngadto sa mga kamot sa mga mangangagaw nga nanagpangagaw kanila: ug iyang gibaligya sila ngadto sa mga kamot sa ilang mga kaaway nga naglibut, aron dili na sila makatindog sa atubangan sa ilang mga kaaway.
15 Whithersoever they went out, the hand of Yahweh was found to be against them for misfortune, as spake Yahweh, and as sware Yahweh unto them, —and they were distressed exceedingly.
Bisan diin sila mangadto, ang kamot ni Jehova batok kanila alang sa kadautan, sumala sa giingon ni Jehova, ug sumala sa gipanumpa ni Jehova kanila: ug sila diha sa mapait nga kalisdanan.
16 And, though Yahweh raised up judges, —who saved them out of the hand of them that plundered them,
Ug si Jehova nagpatindog ug mga maghuhukom nga nagluwas kanila gikan sa kamot niadtong mga nanagpangagaw kanila.
17 yet, even unto their judges, did thy not hearken, for they went unchastely astray after other gods, and bowed themselves down to them, —they turned aside speedily out of the way wherein their fathers who hearkened unto the commandments of Yahweh, walked, they did not so.
Ug bisan pa niana wala gayud sila mamati sa ilang mga maghuhukom: kay sila nakighilawas sa pagsunod sa ubang mga dios, ug nagyukbo sila sa ilang kaugalingon ngadto kanila: sa hinanali nahisimang sila gikan sa dalan diin ang ilang mga ginikanan naglakat, nga nanagtuman sa mga sugo ni Jehova; apan kini wala nila himoa.
18 And, when Yahweh raised them up judges, then was Yahweh with the judges, and saved them out of the hand of their enemies, all the days of the judge, —for Yahweh was grieved at their outcry, because of them who oppressed them, and ill-treated them.
Ug sa diha nga si Jehova nagpatindog kanila ug mga maghuhukom, unya si Jehova nagauban sa maghuhukom, ug nagluwas kanila gikan sa kamot sa ilang mga kaaway sa tanang mga adlaw sa maghuhukom: kay kini nakapabasul kang Jehova tungod sa ilang mga pag-agulo tungod kanila nga nanagdaugdaug ug nanagsakit kanila.
19 But, when the judge was dead, they again broke faith more than their fathers, by going their way after other gods, by serving them, and bowing themselves down to them, —they ceased not from their doings nor from their stubborn way.
Apan nahitabo sa diha nga ang maghuhukom patay na, nga sila mingbalik, ug nanaghimo sa labi pang mangil-ad kay sa ilang mga amahan sa pagsunod sa ilang mga dios, sa pag-alagad kanila ug sa pagyukbo ngadto kanila; sila wala humunong sa ilang mga buhat, ni sa ilang dalan nga masukihon.
20 So then the anger of Yahweh kindled upon Israel, and he said—Forasmuch as this nation have transgressed my covenant, which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice,
Ug ang kasuko ni Jehova misilaub batok sa Israel; ug siya miingon: Tungod kay kining nasura nakalapas sa akong tugon nga akong gisugo sa ilang mga amahan, ug wala managpamati sa akong tingog;
21 I also, will no further dispossess a man from before them, —from among the nations which Joshua left remaining, when he died;
Ako usab sukad karon dili magapapahawa gikan sa atubangan nila bisan unsa sa mga nasud nga gibiyaan ni Josue sa iyang pagkamatay.
22 that I may, by them, put Israel to the proof, —whether they are going to be observant of the way of Yahweh, to walk therein as their fathers observed it, or not.
Aron pinaagi kanila ako makasulay sa Israel kong sila magabantay ba kun dili sa dalan ni Jehova sa paglakaw subay niana, ingon sa pagbantay sa ilang mga amahan.
23 Thus then Yahweh left these nations, not dispossessing them speedily, —neither had he delivered them into the hand of Joshua
Busa si Jehova mibiya sa maong mga nasud, sa walay pagpapahawa kanila sa dinalidali, ni ihatag niya sila ngadto sa kamot ni Josue.
