Judges 17
1 And there was a man of the hill country of Ephraim, whose, name, was Micah.
Havia um homem da região montanhosa de Efraim, cujo nome era Miquéias.
2 And he said unto his mother—The eleven hundred pieces of silver that were taken by thee, when, thou, didst utter a curse, and didst also say in my hearing, Lo! the silver, is with me! I took it. Then said his mother, Blessed, be my son by Yahweh.
Ele disse a sua mãe: “As onze centenas de moedas de prata que foram tiradas de você, sobre as quais você proferiu uma maldição, e também falou aos meus ouvidos, a prata está comigo”. Eu a levei”. Sua mãe disse: “Que Yahweh abençoe meu filho!”
3 And, when he had restored the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, his mother said—I had, hallowed, the silver unto Yahweh out of mine own hand, for my son, to make a graved (molten) image, now, therefore, I will restore it unto thee.
Ele restaurou as onze centenas de moedas de prata para sua mãe, então sua mãe disse: “Eu certamente dedico a prata de minha mão a Iavé para meu filho, para fazer uma imagem esculpida e uma imagem derretida. Agora, portanto, vou restaurá-la a você”.
4 But he restored the silver to his mother, —so his mother took two hundred pieces of silver, and gave it to the silversmith, who made thereof a graved (molten) image, and it was in the house of Micah.
Quando ele devolveu o dinheiro a sua mãe, sua mãe pegou duzentas moedas de prata e as deu a um ourives, que fez uma imagem esculpida e uma imagem derretida dela. Estava na casa de Miquéias.
5 Now, the man Micah, had a house of gods, —and he made an ephod, and teraphim, and installed one of his sons, who became his priest.
O homem Miquéias tinha uma casa de deuses, e fez um éfode, e teraphim, e consagrou um de seus filhos, que se tornou seu sacerdote.
6 In those days, there was no king in Israel, —every man did, that which was right in his own eyes.
Naquela época, não havia rei em Israel. Todos faziam o que era certo aos seus próprios olhos.
7 And there was a young man out of Bethlehem-judah, of the family of Judah, —he, being a Levite, and, he, being a sojourner there.
Havia um jovem de Belém de Judá, da família de Judá, que era um levita; e ele vivia lá.
8 So the man took his journey out of the city, out of Bethlehem-judah, to sojourn, wheresoever he could find [a home], —and he came into the hill country of Ephraim, as far as the house of Micah, in pursuing his journey.
O homem partiu da cidade, de Belém Judá, para viver onde podia encontrar um lugar, e veio para a região montanhosa de Efraim, para a casa de Mica, enquanto viajava.
9 And Micah said unto him, Whence comest thou? And he said unto him—A Levite, am I, from Bethlehem-judah, and, I, am taking my journey to sojourn, wheresoever I can find [a home].
Miquéias lhe disse: “De onde você veio?”. Ele lhe disse: “Eu sou um levita de Belém Judá, e estou procurando um lugar para viver”.
10 And Micah said unto him—Dwell with me, and be to me a father and a priest, and, I, will give thee ten pieces of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and thy sustenance. So the Levite went.
Miquéias disse-lhe: “Habita comigo e sê para mim um pai e um padre, e eu te darei dez moedas de prata por ano, um terno de roupa, e sua comida”. Então, o Levita entrou.
11 And the Levite was content to dwell with the man, —and the young man became to him, as one of his sons.
O Levita se contentou em morar com o homem; e o jovem era para ele como um de seus filhos.
12 And Micah installed the Levite, and the young man became his priest, —and remained in the house of Micah.
Miquéias consagrou o levita, e o jovem tornou-se seu sacerdote, e estava na casa de Miquéias.
13 Then said Micah—Now, I know that Yahweh will do me good, —seeing I have a Levite as my priest.
Então Miquéias disse: “Agora sei que Yahweh me fará bem, pois tenho um levita como sacerdote”.
