Judges 12
1 And the men of Ephraim were called together, and passed over northward, —and said unto Jephthah—Wherefore didst thou pass over to do battle with the sons of Ammon, and, for us, didst not call, to go with thee? Thy house, will we consume over thee with fire.
ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮನ ಜನರು ಕೂಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಉತ್ತರದ ಜಪೋನಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಯೆಫ್ತಾಹನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದಾಗ, ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಏಕೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೋಗಲು ಕರೆಕಳುಹಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ? ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುತ್ತೇವೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
2 And Jephthah said unto them, Great strife, had, I and my people, even with the sons of Ammon; but, when I cried unto you for help, ye saved me not out of their hand.
ಯೆಫ್ತಾಹನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನನಗೂ, ನಮ್ಮ ಜನರಿಗೂ ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ದೊಡ್ಡ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವಿರುವಾಗ, ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕರೆದೆನು. ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅವರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಿ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
3 So, when I saw that thou wast not going to save, then put I my life in my hand, and passed over against the sons of Ammon, and Yahweh delivered them into my hand. Wherefore, then, have ye come up against me this day, to fight against me?
ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನಾನು ಕಂಡು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು, ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಹೋದೆನು. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಏಕೆ ಬಂದಿರಿ?” ಎಂದನು.
4 And Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim, —and the men of Gilead smote Ephraim, because they said—Fugitives of Ephraim, are, ye, O ye Gileadites, in the midst of Ephraim, in the midst of Manasseh.
ಆಗ ಯೆಫ್ತಾಹನು ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದ್ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ, ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, “ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ಯರನ್ನು ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯವರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದ್ಯರಾದ ನೀವು ಸ್ವಕುಲವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ,” ಎಂದು ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ಯರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದ್ಯರು ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದರು.
5 And the Gileadites captured the fords of the Jordan, against the Ephraimites, —and so it was, that, when the fugitives of Ephraim said, Let me pass over, the men of Gilead said to him, An Ephraimite, art thou? and, if he said—Nay!
ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದ್ಯರು ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಮುಂದುಗಡೆ ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿ ರೇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದರು. ಆಗ ಏನಾಯಿತೆಂದರೆ, ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಬಂದು, “ದಾಟುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರೆ, ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದ್ಯರು, “ನೀನು ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ಯನೋ?” ಎಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅವನು, “ಇಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದರೆ, ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಷಿಬ್ಬೋಲೆತ್ ಅನ್ನು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
6 they said to him, Come now, say Shibboleth, and, if he said Sibboleth, and he could not take heed to speak in that manner, then laid they hold on him, and slew him at the fords of the Jordan, —and there fell, at that time, of the Ephraimites, forty-two thousand.
ಆಗ ಅವನು ಹಾಗೆ ಹೇಳಲಾರದೆ, “ಸಿಬ್ಬೋಲೆತ್,” ಎಂದು ಉಚ್ಛರಿಸುವವನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿ ರೇವುಗಳ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಹೀಗೆ ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ಯರೊಳಗೆ ನಾಲ್ವತ್ತೆರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರು ನಾಶವಾದರು.
7 And, when Jephthah had judged Israel six years, then Jephthah the Gileadite died, and was buried in [one of] the cities of Gilead.
ಯೆಫ್ತಾಹನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಆರು ವರ್ಷ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸಿದನು. ಅನಂತರ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದ್ಯನಾದ ಯೆಫ್ತಾಹನು ಮರಣಹೊಂದಿದನು. ಅವನ ಶವವನ್ನು ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ ಒಂದರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದರು.
8 And there judged Israel, after him, Ibzan of Bethlehem.
ಅವನ ತರುವಾಯ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನವನಾದ ಇಬ್ಚಾನನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸಿದನು.
9 And so it was, he had thirty sons, and, thirty daughters, sent he abroad, while, thirty daughters, brought he from abroad for his sons. And he judged Israel seven years.
ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಪುತ್ರರು, ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಪುತ್ರಿಯರು ಇದ್ದರು. ಪುತ್ರಿಯರನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಮದುವೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು; ಹೊರಗಿನಿಂದ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಕನ್ಯೆಯರನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಪುತ್ರರಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡನು. ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿಗೆ ಏಳು ವರ್ಷ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸಿದನು.
10 And Ibzan died, and was buried in Bethlehem.
ನಂತರ ಇಬ್ಚಾನನು ಮರಣಹೊಂದಿ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಿಯಾದನು.
11 And, after him, did Elon the Zebulunite judge Israel, —and he judged Israel, ten years.
ಅವನ ತರುವಾಯ ಜೆಬುಲೂನಿನವನಾದ ಏಲೋನನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನು ಹತ್ತು ವರ್ಷಗಳು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸಿದನು.
12 And Elon the Zebulunite died, and was buried in Aijalon, in the land of Zebulun.
ಜೆಬುಲೂನಿನವನಾದ ಏಲೋನನು ಮರಣಹೊಂದಿ, ಜೆಬುಲೂನ್ ದೇಶವಾದ ಅಯ್ಯಾಲೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ಶವವನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದರು.
13 And there judged Israel, after him, Abdon son of Hillel, the Pirathonite.
ಅವನ ತರುವಾಯ ಪಿರಾತೋನ್ಯನಾದ ಹಿಲ್ಲೇಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಬ್ದೋನನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸಿದನು.
14 And so it was, he had forty sons and thirty grandsons, who rode on seventy ass colts, —and he judged Israel eight years.
ಅವನಿಗೆ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಕತ್ತೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಏರುವ ನಾಲ್ವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ, ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಮೊಮ್ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಇದ್ದರು. ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿಗೆ ಎಂಟು ವರ್ಷ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸಿದನು.
15 And Abdon son of Hillel, the Pirathonite died, —and was buried in Pirathon, in the land of Ephraim, in the hill country of the Amalekites.
ಪಿರಾತೋನ್ಯನಾದ ಹಿಲ್ಲೇಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಬ್ದೋನನು ಮರಣಹೊಂದಿ, ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಮಾಲೇಕ್ಯರ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪಿರಾತೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ಶವವನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದರು.
