Joshua 23
1 And it came to pass, after many days, when Yahweh had given rest unto Israel, from all their enemies round about, —and, Joshua, had become old, advanced in days,
परमप्रभुले तिनीहरूको वरिपरि भएका तिनीहरूका सबै शत्रुबाट विश्राम दिनुभएको धेरै समयपछि यहोशू वृद्ध भइसकेका थिए ।
2 that Joshua called for all Israel, for their elders, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers, —and said unto them, I, am old, advanced in days;
यहोशूले इस्राएलका धर्म-गुरुहरू, अगुवाहरू, न्यायकर्ताहरू सबैलाई बोलाए र तिनीहरूलाई भने, “म निकै वृद्ध भइसकेको छु ।
3 but, ye, have seen—all that Yahweh your God hath done unto all those nations, because of you, —for, Yahweh your God, is he that hath fought for you.
परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूका खातिर यी सबै जातिलाई गर्नुभएका सबै कुरा तिमीहरूले देखेका छौ, किनभने तिमीहरूका निम्ति लड्नुहुने परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वर नै हुनुहुन्छ ।
4 Behold, I have allotted to you these nations which remain, as an inheritance, for your tribes, —from the Jordan, and all the nations which I have cut off, even unto the great sea, at the going in of the sun.
हेर, मैले तिमीहरूलाई पश्चिममा यर्दनदेखि महासमुद्रसम्म पहिले नै नष्ट पारेका जातिहरूका साथै तिमीहरूका कुलहरूका निम्ति उत्तराधिकारको रूपमा हुन विजय हासिल गर्न बाँकी रहेका जातिहरू तिमीहरूलाई दिएको छु ।
5 But, Yahweh your God—he, will thrust them out from before you, and drive them away out of your sight, —so shall ye possess their land, as Yahweh your God spoke unto you.
परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिनीहरूलाई धपाउनुहुने छ । उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई तिमीहरूका खातिर फ्याँक्नुहुने छ । उहाँले तिनीहरूको भू-भाग कब्जा गर्नुहुने छ र परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूलाई प्रतिज्ञा गर्नुभएझैँ तिमीहरूले तिनीहरूको भूमि अधीन गर्ने छौ ।
6 Therefore must ye be very firm to observe and to do all that is written in the scroll of the law of Moses, —so as not to turn aside therefrom, to the right hand or to the left;
त्यसैले निकै बलियो होओ, ताकि मोशाको व्यवस्थाबाट न त दहिने न त देब्रेतिर नलागी सबै पालन गर ।
7 so as not to go in among these nations, these which remain with you, —and, with the name of their gods, shall ye neither make memorial nor put on oath, and neither serve them, —nor bow down to them.
त्यसैले तिमीहरू तिमीहरूका माझमा रहेका जातिहरूसँग नमिसिओ वा तिनीहरूका देवताहरूको नाउँ उच्चारण नगर, तिनीहरूको शपथ नखाओ, तिनीहरूको आराधना नगर वा तिनीहरूलाई दण्डवत् नगर ।
8 But, unto Yahweh your God, must ye cleave, —as, ye have done until this day;
बरु, तिमीहरूले आजको दिनसम्म गरेझैँ तिमीहरूका परमप्रभु परमश्वरमा नै रहिरहो ।
9 therefore hath Yahweh dispossessed, from before you, nations great and strong, —but, as for you, not a man hath stood before you, until this day.
किनभने परमप्रभुले ठुलो र बलियो जातिहरूलाई तिमीहरूको सामु धपाउनुभएको छ, आजको दिनसम्म कोही तिमीहरूको सामु खडा हुन सकेको छैन ।
10 One man of you, can chase a thousand, —for, Yahweh your God, is he that fighteth for you, as he spake to you.
तिमीहरूमध्ये एक जनाले हजार जनालाई भगाउनेछ, किनभने तिमीहरूका परमप्रभु परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूलाई प्रतिज्ञा गर्नुभएझैँ उहाँ तिमीहरूका निम्ति लड्नुहुने छ ।
11 Take diligent heed, therefore, unto your souls, —to love Yahweh your God.
विशेष ध्यान देऊ, ताकि तिमीहरूले परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरलाई प्रेम गर
12 But, if ye, do in any wise turn back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, these which remain with you, —and intermarry with them, and go in with them, and, they, with you;
तर यदि तिमीहरू तिमीहरूमाझ बाँकी रहेका यी जातिहरूसँग लाग्यौ र पछि हट्यौ भने वा यदि तिमीहरूले तिनीहरूसँग अन्तर-जातीय विवाह गर्यौ भने वा यदि तिमीहरू उनीहरूसँगै आयौ र उनीहरू तिमीहरूसँग सबै आए भने,
13 know, that Yahweh your God will no further drive out these nations from before you, —but they will become unto you a snare and a hook, and a goad in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye have perished from off this goodly soil, which Yahweh your God hath given unto you.
यो जान कि परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिमीहरू माझबाट यी जातिहरूलाई धपाउनुहुने छैन । बरु, परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूलाई दिनुभएको यो असल भूमिबाट तिमीहरू नष्ट नभएसम्म उनीहरू तिमीहरूका निम्ति पासो र जाल अनि तिमीहरूका पीठमा कोर्रा, तिमीहरूका आँखाका कसिङ्गर हुने छन् ।
14 But lo! I am going to-day, in the way of all the earth, —ye must acknowledge, therefore, with all your heart and with all your soul, that there hath not failed a single thing, out of all the good things which Yahweh your God spake concerning you, the whole, hath come to pass to you, there hath not failed thereof, a single thing.
म सबै पृथ्वीको मार्गमा जाँदै छु, र परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूको बारेमा प्रतिज्ञा गर्नुभएको कुनै पनि असल कुरा सत्य साबित हुन एक शब्द पनि चुकेको छैन भनी तिमीहरूले आफ्नो सारा ह्रदय र आफ्नो सारा प्राणले जान्दछौ । यी सबै कुरा तिमीहरूका निम्ति पुरा भएका छन् । तिनमा एउटै पनि चुकेको छैन ।
15 But it shall be that, as all the good things have come unto you, which Yahweh your God spake unto you, so, will Yahweh bring upon you all the evil things, until he hath destroyed you from off this goodly soil, which Yahweh your God hath given unto you.
तर जसरी परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूलाई प्रतिज्ञा गर्नुभएका सबै वचन पुरा भएको छ, त्यसरी नै परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूलाई दिनुभएको यो असल भूमिबाट तिमीहरूलाई नष्ट नगरेसम्म परमप्रभुले तिमीहरूमाथि सबै खराबी ल्याउनुहुने छ ।
16 When ye transgress the covenant of Yahweh your God which he hath commanded you, and go and serve other gods, and bow yourselves down unto them, then will the anger of Yahweh kindle upon you, and ye will perish quickly, from off the good land which he hath given unto you.
यदि तिमीहरूले पालन गर्न तिमीहरूलाई उहाँले आज्ञा गर्नुभएको परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरको करार तोड्यौ भने, उहाँले यो गर्नुहुने छ । यदि तिमीहरू जान्छौ र अरू देवताहरूको आराधना गर्छौ र दण्डवत् गर्छौ भने, परमप्रभुको क्रोध तिमीहरूविरुद्ध दन्किने छ र उहाँले तिमीहरूलाई दिनुभएको असल भूमिबाट तिमीहरू चाँडै नष्ट हुने छौ ।”
