< Joshua 18 >
1 Then were gathered together all the assembly of the sons of Israel at Shiloh, and they set up there, the tent of meeting, —the land, having been subdued before them.
U A hoakoakoaia ke anaina kanaka o ka poe mamo a Iseraela ma Silo, a malaila lakou i kukulu ai i ka halelewa o ke anainakanaka; a ua pio ko ka aina, imua o lakou.
2 But there remained among the sons of Israel, to whom had not been apportioned their inheritance, —seven tribes.
Ehiku ohana i koe iho o na mamo a Iseraela, aole i loaa ia lakou ko lakou ainahooili.
3 So Joshua said unto the sons of Israel, —How long, will ye be too slothful, to enter in and take possession of the land, which Yahweh God of your fathers, hath given unto you?
4 Set forth for you three men for each tribe, —that I may send them, that they may arise—and go up and down in the land—and map it out as required for their inheritance, and come in unto me.
E haawi mai nowaena o oukou i mau kanaka pakolu o keia ohana kela ohana, na'u lakou e hoouna aku; a e ku lakou iluna, a e kaahele i ka aina, a e hoailona iho e like me ko lakou ainahooili; alaila e hoi mai lakou io'u nei.
5 So shall they apportion it for themselves into seven parts, —Let, Judah, stay upon his boundary, on the south, and, the house of Joseph, stay upon their boundary, on the north,
A e mahele lakou ia mea i ehiku mokuna; a e noho o Iuda ma ko lakou wahi ma ka hema; a o ka hale o Iosepa e noho lakou ma ko lakou wahi ma ka akau.
6 but, ye, shall map out the [rest of the] land, into seven parts, —and bring in [your descriptions] unto me, here, —then will I cast lots for you here, before Yahweh our God.
A e kakau oukou i ka aina i ehiku mokuna, a e lawe mai ia mea ia'u, i haawi aku au ia oukou maanei ma ka hailona imua o Iehova ko kakou Akua.
7 For Levi hath no portion in your midst, for, the priesthood of Yahweh, is his inheritance, —and, Gad, and Reuben, and the half tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance, beyond the Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of Yahweh gave unto them.
No ka mea, aohe aina no ka Levi iwaena o oukou; o ka oihanakahuna na Iehova, oia kona ainahooili: a o ka Gada, a me ka Reubena a me ka ohana hapa a Manase, ua loaa ia lakou ko lakou ainahooili, ma kela kapa o Ioredane ma ka hikina, ka mea a Mose ke kauwa a Iehova i haawi aku ai no lakou.
8 So the men arose, and went, —and Joshua commanded them who were going, to map out the land, saying—Take your journey and go up and down in the land, and map it out, and return unto me, and, here, will I cast lots for you before Yahweh, in Shiloh.
Alaila, ku iluna na kanaka a hele aku la: a kauoha aku la o Iosua i ka poe hele e kakau i ka aina, i aku la, E hele poai i ka aina, a e kakau iho, a e hoi mai ia'u, i haawi aku au ia oukou ma ka hailona imua o Iehova ma Silo nei.
9 So the men went, and passed through the land, and mapped it out by cities, into seven parts, upon a scroll, —and came in unto Joshua, unto the camp, in Shiloh.
10 And Joshua cast for them lots, in Shiloh, before Yahweh, —and Joshua there apportioned the land unto the sons of Israel, according to their portions.
A hailona iho la o Iosua no lakou imua o Iehova ma Silo; a malaila mahele ae la o Iosua i ka aina no ka poe mamo a Iseraela mamuli o ko lakou mau papa.
11 Then came up the lot of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, by their families, —and the boundary of their lot came out, between the sons of Judah and the sons of Joseph.
Ua hailonaia ka ohana a ka poe Beniamina mamuli o ko lakou mau hale; a ua moe ae la ka mokuna o ko lakou aina mawaena o ka poe mamo a Iuda, a mawaena o ka poe mamo a Iosepa.
12 And so their boundary, on the north border, was from the Jordan, —and the boundary goeth up unto the side of Jericho on the north, and goeth up in the hill country, westward, and the extensions thereof are towards the wilderness of Beth-aven;
13 and the boundary passeth over from thence towards Luz, to the side of Luz, southwards, the same, is Bethel, —and the boundary goeth down to Ataroth-addah, by the mountain that is on the south of Beth-horon the nether;
14 then turneth the boundary and goeth round the west border, southward, from the mountain which faceth Beth-horon, southward, and so the extensions thereof are unto Kiriath-baal—the same, is Kiriath-jearim, a city of the sons of Judah, —this, is the west border.
Ua kakauia ka mokuna mailaila aku a huli ia i ke kihi o ke kai ma ka hema, mai ka puu mai aia imua o Betehorona ma ka hema; a o kona welau aia ma Kiriatabaala, oia o Kiriatiarima, he kulanakauhale o ka Iuda. Oia ka aoao komohana.
15 And, the border southward, is from the uttermost part of Kiriath-jearim, —and the boundary goeth out westward, yea it goeth out unto the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah;
O kona aoao hema aia no ia mai ke kihi o Kiriatiarima, a hala ae la kona mokuna i ke komohana, a moe ae la ia a hiki i ka punawai o Napetoa.
16 and the boundary goeth down to the uttermost part of the mountain which faceth the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is in the Vale of Giants, northward, —and descendeth the valley of Hinnom, unto the side of the Jebusite, southward, and then descendeth to En-rogel;
A iho ka mokuna i ke kihi o ka mauna, aia imua o ke awawa o ke keiki a Hinoma, aia ma ke awawa o ka poe Repaima ma ka akau, a iho la ia i ke awawa a Hinoma a hiki i ka aoao o Iebusi ma ka hema, a iho ia i Enerogela,
17 and it turneth on the north, and goeth out at En-shemesh, and goeth out unto Geliloth, which is over against the ascent of Adummim, —and goeth down by the Stone of Bohan, son of Reuben;
Ua kakauia mai ka akau a hiki aku i Enesemeka, a moe ae la ia i Gelilota kahi kokoke i ka pii ana o Aduminia, a iho ia i ka pohaku o Bohana ke keiki a Reubena,
18 and passeth along unto the side over against the Arabah, northward, —and goeth down toward the Arabah;
A hala ae la i ka aoao imua o Araba ma ka akau, a iho iho la i Araba.
19 and the boundary passeth along unto the side of Beth-hoglah, northward, and so the extensions of the boundary are unto the bay of the Salt Sea, northward, unto the end of the Jordan, southward, —This, is the south boundary.
20 And, the Jordan itself, boundeth it as an eastward border. This, is the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin, by the boundaries thereof round about, by their families.
21 So then the cities of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, by their families, are, —Jericho and Beth-hoglah, and Emekkeziz,
O na kulanakauhale o ka ohana a ka poe Beniamina mamuli o ko lakou mau hale, o Ieriko a me Betehogela, a me ke awawa o Keziza,
22 and Beth-arabah and Zemaraim, and Bethel,
O Betearaba, a me Zemaraima, a me Betela,
23 and Avvim and Parah and Ophrah,
O Avima a me Para a me Opera,
24 and Chephar-ammoni and Ophni, and Geba, —twelve cities, with their villages:
O Heparahamonai, a me Openi, a me Gaba: he umikumamalua kulanakauhale, a me ko lakou mau kauhale:
25 Gibeon and Ramah, and Beeroth,
O Gibeona a me Rama a me Beerota,
26 and Mizpeh and Chephirah, and Mozah,
O Mizepa, a me Kepira, a me Moza,
27 and Rekem and Irpeel, and Taralah,
O Rekema, a me Irepeela, a me Tarala,
28 and Zelah, Eleph, and the Jebusite, the same, is Jerusalem, Gibeath [and] Kiriath, fourteen cities, with their villages. This, is the inheritance of the song of Benjamin, by their families.
O Zela, a me Elepa, a me Iebusi, oia o Ierusalema, a me Gibeata, a me Kiriata; he umikumamaha kulanakauhale a me ko lakou mau kauhale.
