Joshua 16

1 Then came out the lot, for the sons of Joseph, from the Jordan by Jericho, at the waters of Jericho, eastward, —the desert, going up from Jericho, through the hill country to Bethel;

Și sorțul copiilor lui Iosif a ieșit de la Iordanul de lângă Ierihon până la apele Ierihonului către est, până la pustiul care urcă de la Ierihon spre muntele Betel;

2 and it goeth out from Bethel towards Luz, —and passeth over unto the boundary of the Archites at Ataroth;

Și ieșea de la Betel spre Luz și trecea până la granița archiților spre Atarot,

3 and descendeth westward, unto the boundary of the Japhletites, as far as the boundary of Bethhoron the nether, and as far as Gezer, —and the extensions thereof are to the sea.

Și cobora spre vest până la ținutul iafletiților, până la ținutul Bet-Oronului de jos și până la Ghezer; și ieșirile lui erau la mare.

4 So the sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, received their inheritance.

Astfel copiii lui Iosif, Manase și Efraim, și-au luat moștenirea.

5 And the boundary of the sons of Ephraim, by their families, was, —yea the boundary of their inheritance on the east, was Ataroth-addar, as far as Beth-horon the upper;

Și granița copiilor lui Efraim, după familiile lor, era așa: granița moștenirii lor spre est era Atarot-Adar până la Bet-Horonul de sus;

6 and the boundary goeth out westward at Michmethath, on the north, then the boundary bendeth round easward, to Taanath-shiloh, —and passeth by it on the east to Janoah;

Și ținutul ieșea spre vest la Micmetat în partea de nord; și granița se întorcea înspre est până la Taanat-Șilo și trecea înspre est până la Ianoah.

7 and goeth down from Janoah to Ataroth and to Naarah, —and toucheth upon Jericho, and goeth out at the Jordan.

Și cobora de la Ianoah la Atarot și la Naarata și atingea Ierihonul și ieșea la Iordan.

8 From Tappuah, runneth the boundary along westward, to the ravine of Kanah, and the extensions thereof are to the sea, —this, is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, by their families;

De la Tapuah, granița mergea spre vest, până la râul Cana; și ieșirile lui erau la mare. Aceasta este moștenirea tribului copiilor lui Efraim, după familiile lor,

9 together with the cities which were separated for the sons of Ephraim, in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh, —all the cities, with their villages.

Și cetățile care au fost puse deoparte pentru copiii lui Efraim au fost în mijlocul moștenirii copiilor lui Manase, toate cetățile și satele lor.

10 But they did not dispossess the Canaanites who were dwelling in Gazer, —so the Canaanites have dwelt in the midst of Ephraim unto this day, and have become tributary servants.

Iar ei nu i-au alungat pe canaaniții care locuiau în Ghezer, ci canaaniții au locuit în mijlocul lui Efraim până în ziua aceasta și servesc, dând tribut.
