Joshua 13
1 Now, Joshua, was old, advanced in days, —so then Yahweh said unto him—Thou, art old, advanced in days, and, much the larger part of the land, remaineth to be possessed.
Josué era ya viejo y de edad avanzada. Yahvé le dijo: “Eres viejo y avanzado en años, y aún queda mucha tierra por poseer.
2 This, is the land that remaineth, —all the regions of the Philistines, and all the Geshuri;
“Esta es la tierra que aún queda todas las regiones de los filisteos, y todos los guesuritas;
3 from the Shihor which faceth Egypt, even as far as the boundary of Ekron, northward, to the Canaanites, is it counted, —five princes of Philistines, the Gazites, and the Ashdodites, the Ashkalonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites, also the Avvim
desde el Shihor, que está delante de Egipto, hasta la frontera de Ecrón hacia el norte, que se cuenta como cananea; los cinco señores de los filisteos: los gazitas, los asdoditas, los ascalonitas, los gittitas y los ecronitas; también los avvim,
4 on the south: all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah which belongeth to the Zidonians, as far as Aphek, —as far as the boundary of the Amorites;
al sur; toda la tierra de los cananeos, y Meará que pertenece a los sidonios, hasta Afec, hasta la frontera de los amorreos;
5 and the land of the Gebalites, and all the Lebanon, to the rising of the sun, from Baal-gad, under Mount Hermon, —as far as the entering in of Hamath:
y la tierra de los gebalitas, y todo el Líbano, hacia la salida del sol, desde Baal Gad bajo el monte Hermón hasta la entrada de Hamat;
6 all the inhabitants of the hill country, from the Lebanon as far as Misrephoth-maim—all the Zidonians, I myself, will dispossess them from before the sons of Israel, —nevertheless, assign thou it by lot unto Israel, for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.
todos los habitantes de la región montañosa desde el Líbano hasta Misrefot Maim, todos los sidonios. Los expulsaré de delante de los hijos de Israel. Sólo asigna a Israel como herencia, como te he ordenado.
7 Now, therefore, apportion this land as an inheritance, unto the nine tribes, —and the half tribe of Manasseh.
Ahora, pues, reparte esta tierra en herencia a las nueve tribus y a la media tribu de Manasés.”
8 With them, the, Reubenites and the Gadites, received their inheritance, —which Moses gave them beyond the Jordan, eastward, as Moses the servant of Yahweh gave unto them:
Con él, los rubenitas y los gaditas recibieron la herencia que les dio Moisés, al otro lado del Jordán, hacia el este, tal como se la dio Moisés, siervo de Yahvé:
9 from Aroer, which is on the edge of the ravine of Arnon, and the city, which is in the midst of the ravine, and all the table-land of Medeba, as far as Dibon;
desde Aroer, que está al borde del valle de Arnón, y la ciudad que está en medio del valle, y toda la llanura de Medeba hasta Dibón;
10 and all the cities of Sihon, king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, —as far as the boundary of the sons of Ammon;
y todas las ciudades de Sehón, rey de los amorreos, que reinaba en Hesbón, hasta el límite de los hijos de Amón
11 and Gilead, and the boundary of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan, as far as Salecah;
y Galaad, y el límite de los guesuritas y maacatitas, y todo el monte Hermón, y todo Basán hasta Salecá;
12 all the kingdom of Og, in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei, —he, being left of the remnant of the giants; and Moses smote them and dispossessed them;
todo el reino de Og en Basán, que reinaba en Astarot y en Edrei (que quedó del resto de los refaítas); porque Moisés atacó a éstos y los expulsó.
13 the sons of Israel, however, did not dispossess, the Geshurites or the Maacathites, —but Geshur and Maacath have remained in the midst of Israel until this day.
Sin embargo, los hijos de Israel no expulsaron a los guesuritas ni a los maacatíes, sino que Guesur y Maacat viven dentro de Israel hasta el día de hoy.
14 Howbeit, unto the tribe of Levi, gave he no inheritance, —the altar-flames of Yahweh God of Israel, are his inheritance, as he spake unto him.
Sólo que no dio herencia a la tribu de Leví. Las ofrendas a Yahvé, el Dios de Israel, hechas por fuego, son su herencia, como él le dijo.
15 Thus then Moses gave [an inheritance] unto the tribe of the sons of Reuben by their families;
Moisés dio a la tribu de los hijos de Rubén según sus familias.
16 and their boundary was from Aroer, that is on the edge of the ravine of Arnon and the city which is in the midst of the ravine and all the table-land by Medeba;
Su frontera fue desde Aroer, que está a la orilla del valle de Arnón, y la ciudad que está en medio del valle, y toda la llanura junto a Medeba;
17 Heshbon and all her cities which are on the table-land, —Dibon and Bamoth-baal, and Beth-baal-meon;
Hesbón, y todas sus ciudades que están en la llanura; Dibón, Bamoth Baal, Beth Baal Meón,
18 and Jahaz and Kedemoth and Maphaath;
Jahaz, Kedemoth, Mephaath,
19 and Kiriathaim and Sibmah, and Zareth-shahar on the mount of the vale;
Kiriathaim, Sibmah, Zereth Shahar en el monte del valle,
20 and Beth-peor, and the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth;
Beth Peor, las laderas de Pisga, Beth Jeshimoth,
21 and all the cities of the table-land, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, —whom Moses smote—with the princes of Midian, Evi and Rekem and Zur and Hur and Reba, dukes of Sihon dwelling in the land;
todas las ciudades de la llanura, y todo el reino de Sehón, rey de los amorreos, que reinaba en Hesbón, a quien Moisés hirió con los jefes de Madián, Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur y Reba, príncipes de Sehón, que vivían en la tierra.
22 Balaam also son of Beor, the diviner, did the sons of Israel slay with the sword among their slain.
Los hijos de Israel también mataron a espada a Balaam, hijo de Beor, el adivino, entre el resto de sus muertos.
23 And so the boundary of the sons of Reuben was the Jordan and district. This, is the inheritance of the sons of Reuben by their families, the cities and the villages thereof.
El límite de los hijos de Rubén era la ribera del Jordán. Esta fue la herencia de los hijos de Rubén según sus familias, las ciudades y sus aldeas.
24 And Moses gave [an inheritance] unto the tribe of Gad, unto the sons of Gad by their families;
Moisés dio a la tribu de Gad, a los hijos de Gad, según sus familias.
25 and their boundary was—Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the sons of Ammon, —as far as Aroer, which faceth Rabbah;
Su límite fue Jazer, y todas las ciudades de Galaad, y la mitad de la tierra de los hijos de Amón, hasta Aroer que está cerca de Rabá;
26 and from Heshbon as far as Ramath-mizpeh, and Botonim, —and from Mahanaim as far as the boundary of Debir;
y desde Hesbón hasta Ramat Mizpa, y Betonim; y desde Mahanaim hasta el límite de Debir
27 and in the valley—Beth-haram and Beth-nimrah and Succoth and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan and district, —as far as the end of the sea of Chinnereth, beyond the Jordan eastward.
y en el valle, Bet Haram, Bet Nimra, Sucot y Zafón, el resto del reino de Sehón, rey de Hesbón, la ribera del Jordán, hasta el extremo del mar de Cineret, al otro lado del Jordán, hacia el este.
28 This, is the inheritance of the sons of Gad, by their families, —the cities and the villages thereof.
Esta es la herencia de los hijos de Gad según sus familias, las ciudades y sus aldeas.
29 And Moses gave [an inheritance] unto the half tribe of Manasseh, —so it belonged to the half tribe of the sons of Manasseh by their families;
Moisés dio una herencia a la media tribu de Manasés. Fue para la media tribu de los hijos de Manasés según sus familias.
30 and their boundary was—from Mahanaim all Bashan all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan and all the Encampments of Jair which are in Bashan three-score cities;
Su frontera era desde Mahanaim, todo Basán, todo el reino de Og, rey de Basán, y todas las aldeas de Jair, que están en Basán, sesenta ciudades.
31 and, half Gilead and Ashtaroth and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, pertained to the sons of Machir son of Manasseh, to half the sons of Machir by their families.
La mitad de Galaad, Astarot y Edrei, ciudades del reino de Og en Basán, eran para los hijos de Maquir hijo de Manasés, para la mitad de los hijos de Maquir según sus familias.
32 These, are [the portions] which Moses gave for inheritance, in the waste plains of Moab, —over the Jordan by Jericho eastward.
Estas son las herencias que Moisés repartió en las llanuras de Moab, al otro lado del Jordán, en Jericó, hacia el este.
33 But, unto the tribe of Levi, Moses gave no inheritance, —Yahweh God of Israel, he, was their inheritance, as he spake unto them.
Pero Moisés no dio ninguna herencia a la tribu de Leví. Yahvé, el Dios de Israel, es su herencia, como él les habló.
