Joshua 13
1 Now, Joshua, was old, advanced in days, —so then Yahweh said unto him—Thou, art old, advanced in days, and, much the larger part of the land, remaineth to be possessed.
૧હવે યહોશુઆ ઘણો વયોવૃદ્ધ થયો, ત્યારે યહોવાહ તેને કહ્યું, “તું વયોવૃદ્ધ થયો છે, પણ વતન કરી લેવાની ઘણી ભૂમિ હજી બાકી છે.
2 This, is the land that remaineth, —all the regions of the Philistines, and all the Geshuri;
૨જે પ્રદેશો હજી બાકી રહ્યા છે તે આ છે: પલિસ્તીઓનો અને ગશૂરીઓનો આખો વિસ્તાર.
3 from the Shihor which faceth Egypt, even as far as the boundary of Ekron, northward, to the Canaanites, is it counted, —five princes of Philistines, the Gazites, and the Ashdodites, the Ashkalonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites, also the Avvim
૩જે મિસરની પૂર્વમાં શિહોરથી, ઉત્તરે એક્રોનની સરહદ સુધી. તે કનાનીઓની સંપત્તિ ગણાય છે; પલિસ્તીઓના પાંચ શાસકો ગાઝીઓ, આશ્દોદીઓ, આશ્કેલોનીઓ, ગિત્તીઓ અને એક્રોનીઓનો જે આવ્વીઓના પ્રદેશ છે.
4 on the south: all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah which belongeth to the Zidonians, as far as Aphek, —as far as the boundary of the Amorites;
૪દક્ષિણમાં, આવ્વીઓનો પ્રદેશ, કનાનીઓનો આખો પ્રદેશ અને સિદોનીઓના મારા અને અફેક સુધી એટલે અમોરીઓની સરહદ સુધી;
5 and the land of the Gebalites, and all the Lebanon, to the rising of the sun, from Baal-gad, under Mount Hermon, —as far as the entering in of Hamath:
૫ગબાલીઓનો દેશ, પૂર્વ તરફ લબાનોન એટલે હેર્મોન પર્વતની તળેટીમાંના બાલ-ગાદથી હમાથ સુધી.
6 all the inhabitants of the hill country, from the Lebanon as far as Misrephoth-maim—all the Zidonians, I myself, will dispossess them from before the sons of Israel, —nevertheless, assign thou it by lot unto Israel, for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.
૬લબાનોનથી તે દૂર સુધી મિસ્રેફોથ-માઇમ સુધી પર્વતીય દેશના સઘળાં રહેવાસીઓ એટલે સિદોનના સઘળાં લોકો સહિત તેઓને હું ઇઝરાયલના સૈન્યની આગળથી કાઢી મૂકીશ. પણ યાદ રાખ કે મેં જેમ તને આજ્ઞા આપી છે તેમ તે દેશ ઇઝરાયલીઓને વારસા તરીકે તેમનાં કુળ પ્રમાણે વહેંચી આપ.
7 Now, therefore, apportion this land as an inheritance, unto the nine tribes, —and the half tribe of Manasseh.
૭નવ કુળોને તથા મનાશ્શાના અર્ધ કુળને આ દેશ વારસામાં ફાળવી આપ.”
8 With them, the, Reubenites and the Gadites, received their inheritance, —which Moses gave them beyond the Jordan, eastward, as Moses the servant of Yahweh gave unto them:
૮મનાશ્શાના બીજા અર્ધ કુળ સાથે રુબેનીઓને તથા ગાદીઓને તેમનો વારસો મળ્યો. મૂસાએ તેઓને યર્દનની પૂર્વ બાજુએ તે હિસ્સો આપ્યો.
9 from Aroer, which is on the edge of the ravine of Arnon, and the city, which is in the midst of the ravine, and all the table-land of Medeba, as far as Dibon;
૯તે આર્નોનની ખીણની સરહદ પરના અરોએરથી અને જે નગર ખીણની મધ્યે છે ત્યાંથી, મેદબાનો આખો સપાટ પ્રદેશ, દીબોન સુધી.
10 and all the cities of Sihon, king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, —as far as the boundary of the sons of Ammon;
૧૦સીહોનનાં બધાં નગરો, અમોરીઓનો રાજા, જે હેશ્બોનમાં રાજ કરતો હતો તેના સઘળાં નગરો, આમ્મોનીઓની સરહદ સુધી;
11 and Gilead, and the boundary of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan, as far as Salecah;
૧૧ગિલ્યાદ, ગશૂરીઓનો તથા માખાથીઓનો વિસ્તાર, આખો હેર્મોન પર્વત અને આખા બાશાનથી સાલખા સુધી;
12 all the kingdom of Og, in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei, —he, being left of the remnant of the giants; and Moses smote them and dispossessed them;
૧૨બાશાનના ઓગનું આખું રાજ્ય, જે આશ્તારોથ અને એડ્રેઇમાં રાજ કરતો હતો આ જે રફાઈઓમાંના બાકી રહેલા હતા તેઓને મૂસાએ તલવારથી મારીને હાંકી કાઢ્યાં હતા.
13 the sons of Israel, however, did not dispossess, the Geshurites or the Maacathites, —but Geshur and Maacath have remained in the midst of Israel until this day.
૧૩પણ ઇઝરાયલના લોકોએ ગશૂરીઓને કે માખાથીઓને કાઢી મૂક્યા નહિ. તેના બદલે, ગશૂરીઓ અને માખાથીઓ આજ દિન સુધી ઇઝરાયલ મધ્યે રહ્યા.
14 Howbeit, unto the tribe of Levi, gave he no inheritance, —the altar-flames of Yahweh God of Israel, are his inheritance, as he spake unto him.
૧૪કેવળ લેવીના કુળને મૂસાએ વારસો આપ્યો નહિ. જેમ યહોવાહ મૂસાને કહ્યું હતું તેમ “ઇઝરાયલના પ્રભુ, યહોવાહને અપાયેલા અર્પણો જે અગ્નિથી કરવામાં આવે છે,” તે જ તેઓનો વારસો છે.
15 Thus then Moses gave [an inheritance] unto the tribe of the sons of Reuben by their families;
૧૫મૂસાએ રુબેનીઓના આખા કુળનાં કુટુંબો પ્રમાણે તેઓને વારસો આપ્યો.
16 and their boundary was from Aroer, that is on the edge of the ravine of Arnon and the city which is in the midst of the ravine and all the table-land by Medeba;
૧૬તેઓની હદ આર્નોનની ખીણની સરહદ પરનું અરોએર તથા જે શહેર તે ખીણની મધ્યે છે, ત્યાંથી મેદબા પાસેના આખા સપાટ પ્રદેશ સુધી હતી.
17 Heshbon and all her cities which are on the table-land, —Dibon and Bamoth-baal, and Beth-baal-meon;
૧૭રુબેનીઓને આ પણ પ્રાપ્ત થયું એટલે, હેશ્બોન તથા પર્વતીય પ્રદેશમાંનાં તેના સર્વ નગરો, દીબોન, બામોથ-બાલ તથા બેથ-બાલમેઓન,
18 and Jahaz and Kedemoth and Maphaath;
૧૮યાહસા, કદેમોથ તથા મેફાથ,
19 and Kiriathaim and Sibmah, and Zareth-shahar on the mount of the vale;
૧૯કિર્યાથાઈમ, સિબ્માહ, ખીણના પર્વત પરનું સેરેથ-શાહાર.
20 and Beth-peor, and the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth;
૨૦બેથ-પેઓર, પિસ્ગાહના ઢોળાવ, બેથ-યશીમોથ,
21 and all the cities of the table-land, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, —whom Moses smote—with the princes of Midian, Evi and Rekem and Zur and Hur and Reba, dukes of Sihon dwelling in the land;
૨૧સપાટ પ્રદેશનાં સર્વ નગરો, અમોરીઓના રાજા સીહોનનું આખું રાજ્ય; તે હેશ્બોનમાં રાજ કરતો હતો જેને મૂસાએ માર્યો હતો. અને તે દેશમાં રહેનારા મિદ્યાનના આગેવાનો સાથે, અવી, રેકેમ, સૂર, હૂર, તથા રેબાના શાસકોને અને સીહોનના રાજકુમારોને માર્યા હતા.
22 Balaam also son of Beor, the diviner, did the sons of Israel slay with the sword among their slain.
૨૨જેઓને ઇઝરાયલી લોકોએ માર્યા, તેઓમાં બેઓરના દીકરા બલામ શકુન જોનારને પણ તેઓએ તલવારથી મારી નાખ્યો.
23 And so the boundary of the sons of Reuben was the Jordan and district. This, is the inheritance of the sons of Reuben by their families, the cities and the villages thereof.
૨૩યર્દન નદી તથા તેનો કાંઠો એ રુબેનીઓના કુળની સરહદ હતી; આ રુબેનીઓના વતનનાં નગરો તથા ગામો તેઓનાં કુટુંબ પ્રમાણે એ છે.
24 And Moses gave [an inheritance] unto the tribe of Gad, unto the sons of Gad by their families;
૨૪અને આ મૂસાએ ગાદનાં કુળને એટલે ગાદપુત્રોને તેના કુટુંબ પ્રમાણે આપ્યો હતો.
25 and their boundary was—Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the sons of Ammon, —as far as Aroer, which faceth Rabbah;
૨૫આ તેમનો વિસ્તાર હતો એટલે યાઝેર તથા ગિલ્યાદના સઘળાં નગરો તથા આમ્મોનીઓનો અડધો દેશ, જે અરોએર સુધી રાબ્બાની પૂર્વમાં છે.
26 and from Heshbon as far as Ramath-mizpeh, and Botonim, —and from Mahanaim as far as the boundary of Debir;
૨૬અને હેશ્બોનથી તે રામાથ મિસ્પા અને બટોનીમ સુધી, માહનાઇમથી તે દબીરના પ્રદેશ સુધી.
27 and in the valley—Beth-haram and Beth-nimrah and Succoth and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan and district, —as far as the end of the sea of Chinnereth, beyond the Jordan eastward.
૨૭અને ખીણમાં, બેથ-હારામ તથા બેથ-નિમ્રાહ, સુક્કોથ, અને સાફોન, એટલે હેશ્બોનના રાજા સીહોનનું બાકી રહેલું રાજ્ય, યર્દનનો કિનારો, યર્દન પાર પૂર્વમાં કિન્નેરેથ સમુદ્રના છેડા સુધી મૂસાએ તેઓને આપ્યાં.
28 This, is the inheritance of the sons of Gad, by their families, —the cities and the villages thereof.
૨૮ગાદપુત્રોના વતનનાં નગરો તથા ગામો તેઓના કુટુંબો પ્રમાણે એ છે.
29 And Moses gave [an inheritance] unto the half tribe of Manasseh, —so it belonged to the half tribe of the sons of Manasseh by their families;
૨૯મૂસાએ મનાશ્શાના અડધા કુળને વારસો આપ્યો. તે મનાશ્શાના લોકોના અડધા કુળને, એક એકને તેમના કુળ પ્રમાણે વારસો આપ્યો.
30 and their boundary was—from Mahanaim all Bashan all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan and all the Encampments of Jair which are in Bashan three-score cities;
૩૦તેઓનો પ્રદેશ માહનાઇમથી હતો, એટલે આખો બાશાન, બાશાનના રાજા ઓગનું આખું રાજ્ય અને બાશાનમાં યાઈરનાં સર્વ નગરો, એટલે સાઠ નગરો,
31 and, half Gilead and Ashtaroth and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, pertained to the sons of Machir son of Manasseh, to half the sons of Machir by their families.
૩૧અડધો ગિલ્યાદ તથા આશ્તારોથ તથા એડ્રેઇ, બાશાનમાં ઓગનાં ભવ્ય નગરો. એ મનાશ્શાના પુત્ર માખીરના પુત્રોને માટે એટલે તેઓનાં કુટુંબો પ્રમાણે માખીરના પુત્રોના અડધા ભાગને માટે હતાં.
32 These, are [the portions] which Moses gave for inheritance, in the waste plains of Moab, —over the Jordan by Jericho eastward.
૩૨યરીખોની પૂર્વ દિશાએ યર્દન પાર, મોઆબના પ્રદેશમાં મૂસાએ વારસા તરીકે સોંપ્યાં તે એ છે.
33 But, unto the tribe of Levi, Moses gave no inheritance, —Yahweh God of Israel, he, was their inheritance, as he spake unto them.
૩૩પણ લેવીના કુળને મૂસાએ કંઈ વારસો આપ્યો નહિ. તેણે તેઓને કહ્યું કે, તેઓનો વારસો ઇઝરાયલના પ્રભુ, યહોવાહ, છે.
