1 Now, these, are the kings of the land, whom the sons of Israel had smitten, and of whose land they had taken possession, over the Jordan, towards the rising of the sun, —from the ravine of Arnon, as far as Mount Hermon, and all the waste plain, on the east:

Voici les rois que les Israélites avaient battus et dont ils avaient conquis les terres sur la rive orientale du Jourdain, depuis le torrent d’Arnon jusqu’à la montagne de Hermon, et toute la campagne du côté de l’Orient:

2 Sihon, king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, —ruling from Aroer, which is on the edge of the ravine of Arnon, and the middle of the ravine, and half Gilead, even as far as the ravine Jabbok, the boundary of the sons of Ammon;

Sihôn, roi des Amorréens, qui résidait à Hesbon, et qui dominait depuis Aroêr, qui est au bord du torrent d’Arnon, et l’intérieur de ce bas-fonds, et la moitié du Galaad, jusqu’au torrent de Jaboc, frontière des Ammonites;

3 and the waste plain as far as the sea of Chinneroth, on the east, even as far as the sea of the waste plain, the salt sea, on the east, the way to Bethjeshimoth, —and, on the south, under the slopes of Pisgah;

et la campagne aboutissant à l’orient du lac de Génésareth et à l’orient du lac de la Plaine ou mer Salée, Bêth-Hayechimot; et au midi jusque sous le versant du Pisga.

4 and the boundary of Og, king of Bashan, of the remnant of the giants, —him who dwelt in Ashtaroth and in Edrei;

Puis le territoire d’Og, roi du Basan, un des survivants des Rephaïm, lequel résidait à Astarot et à Edréi,

5 ruling also in Mount Hermon, and in Salecah, and in all Bashan, as far as the boundary of the Geshurites, and the Maacathites, —and half Gilead, the boundary of Sihon king of Heshbon: —

et dominait sur la montagne de Hermon, Salka et tout le Basan, jusqu’à la frontière de Ghechour et de Maakha, et sur la moitié du Galaad, limitrophe de Sihôn, roi de Hesbon.

6 Moses the servant of Yahweh, and the sons of Israel, had smitten them, —and Moses the servant of Yahweh, had given it, as a possession, unto the Reubenites, and unto the Gadites, and unto the half tribe of Manasseh.

Ceux-là furent battus par Moïse, serviteur de l’Eternel, et par les Israélites; et Moïse, serviteur de l’Eternel, donna leur pays en possession aux Rubénites, aux Gadites et à la demi-tribu de Manassé.

7 And, these, are the kings of the land, whom Joshua and the sons of Israel smote over the Jordan, towards the west, from Baal-gad in the valley of the Lebanon, even as far as the Mount Halak that goeth up towards Seir, —and Joshua gave it unto the tribes of Israel, as a possession, according to their portions;

Voici maintenant les rois du pays que Josué et les enfants d’Israël vainquirent sur la rive occidentale du Jourdain, depuis Baal-Gad, dans la vallée du Liban, jusqu’au mont Pelé qui s’élève vers Séir, pays que Josué donna aux tribus d’Israël en héritage, selon leurs divisions;

8 in the hill country and in the lowland, and in the waste plain, and in the slopes, and in the desert, and in the south, —the Hittite, the Amorite, and the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite: —

et qui étaient situés sur la montagne et dans la plaine, dans la vallée et sur les versants, dans le désert et la région du Midi: les pays habités par les Héthéens, les Amorréens, les Cananéens, les Phérézéens, les Hévéens et les Jébuséens:

9 The king of Jericho, one, the king of Ai, which is beside Bethel, one,

12 The king of Eglon, one, the king of Gezer, one,
