< Jonah 3 >
1 Then came the word of Yahweh unto Jonah, the second time, saying:
Nangngeg ni Jonas ti sao ni Yahweh iti maikadua a gundaway, kinunana,
2 Arise, get thee unto Nineveh, the great city, —and cry against it the cry that I am bidding thee.
“Agrubbuatka, mapanka idiay Nineve, ti dakkel a siudad ket iwaragawagmo sadiay ti mensahe nga imbilinko kenka.”
3 So Jonah arose, and went his way unto Nineveh, according to the word of Yahweh, —Nineveh, being a city great before God, of three days’ journey.
Nagrubbuat ngarud ni Jonas ket napan idiay Nineve kas panagtulnog iti sao ni Yahweh. Ita, ti Nineve ket nalawa unay a siudad, maysa a lugar a daliasaten iti tallo nga aldaw.
4 So Jonah began to enter into the city, one day’s journey, —and he cried out and said—Yet forty days, and, Nineveh, is to be overthrown!
Rinugian ni Jonas a serreken ti siudad ket kalpasan ti maysa nga aldaw a pannagnana, nagpukkaw ket kinunana, “Uppat a pulo nga aldaw manipud ita, madadaelto ti Nineve.”
5 And the people of Nineveh believed in God, —and proclaimed a fast, and clothed themselves in sackcloth, from the greatest of them, even unto the least of them.
Namati iti Dios dagiti tattao ti Nineve ket inwaragawagda ti panagayunar. Nagkawesda amin iti nakersang a lupot, manipud iti katatan-okan agingga iti kanunumoan kadakuada.
6 And the word reached unto the king of Nineveh, so he arose from his throne, and laid aside his robe from off him, —and covered him with sackcloth, and sat on ashes.
Nakadanon a dagus ti damag iti ari ti Nineve. Timmakder isuna iti tronona, inussobna ti pagan-anayna, nagkawes iti nakersang a lupot ket nagtugaw iti dapo.
7 And he caused an outcry to be made—and said—throughout Nineveh, By decree of the king and of his great men, Be it known: —Man and beast, herd and flock, Let them taste, nothing, let them not feed, and, water, let them not drink:
Nangiwaragawag isuna iti pakaammo a nagkuna, “Babaen iti turay ti ari ken dagiti opisialna iti Nineve, awan kadagiti tattao wenno ayup, wenno kadagiti taraken ti mangraman iti aniaman a banag ditoy Nineve. Saanyo ida a palubosan a mangan wenno uminom ti danum.
8 Let both man and beast, cover themselves with sackcloth, and let them cry unto God, mightily, —Yea let them turn, every man from his wicked way, and from the violence which is in their hands:
Ngem masapul nga agabbong iti nakersang a lupot dagiti tao ken ayup ket masapul nga ipukkawda ti umawag iti Dios. Masapul a tallikudan ti tunggal maysa ti dakes a kababalinna ken ti kinaranggas dagiti imana.
9 Who knoweth whether God himself—may turn and grieve, —and turn away from the glow of his anger, that we perish not?
Siasino ti makaammo? Mabalin a maasi ti Dios ket baliwanna ti pangeddengna ket saanen nga agpungtot tapno saantayo a matay.”
10 And God saw their doings, that they turned from their wicked way, —and God was grieved over the calamity which he had spoken of executing upon them, and executed it not.
Nakita ti Dios ti inaramidda, a tinallikodanda dagiti dakes a kababalinda. Isu a binaliwan ti Dios ti pangngeddengna maipanggep iti panangdusa nga imbagana nga aramidenna kadakuada ket saannan nga inaramid daytoy.
