< John 9 >
1 And, passing along, he saw a man, blind from birth.
Che Yesu paŵapitaga, ŵambweni mundu jwangalola chitandile kupagwa kwakwe.
2 And his disciples questioned him, saying—Rabbi! who sinned, this man or his parents, that, blind, he should be born?
Nipele ŵakulijiganya ŵao ŵausisye, “Jwakwiganya, Ana ŵaani ŵatesile sambi mpaka mundu ju apagwe ali ngakulola, mundu ju pane achaŵelesi ŵakwe?”
3 Jesus answered—Neither, this man, sinned nor his parents; but…that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
Che Yesu ŵajanjile, “Ngaŵa mundu ju atamuno achaŵelesi ŵakwe ŵaŵatesile sambi, nambo apagwile jwangalola kuti machili ga Akunnungu gawoneche gachipanganyaga masengo mu utame wakwe.
4 We must needs be working the works of him that sent me, while it is, day: There cometh a night, when, no one, can work.
Tukusachilwa kupanganya masengo ga ŵandumile une ŵala muusi uli chiŵela. Pakuŵa chilo chikwika ni ngapagwa mundu jwakukombola kupanganya masengo.
5 Whensoever I may be, in the world, I am, the light, of the world.
Ndili chiŵela mchilambo, uneji ndili lulanga lwa ŵandu ŵa pachilambo.”
6 These things, having said, he spat on the ground, and made clay with the spittle, and laid the clay upon his eyes;
Che Yesu paŵamasile kuŵecheta yeleyo, ŵasunile mata paasi ŵagumbile litaka ni mata ni kumpakasya pa meeso jwangalola jula.
7 and said unto him—Withdraw! wash in the pool of Siloam, —which is to be translated, Sent. He went away, therefore, and washed, and came, seeing.
Nipele ŵansalile jwangalola jula, “Njaule nkasukusule mu litanda lya Siloamu.” Siloamu malumbo gakwe “Ŵaŵalajiswe.” Pelepo jwangalola jo ŵajawile ni kusukusula, nipele ŵausile kumusi ali nkulola.
8 The neighbours, therefore, and they who used to observe him aforetime—that he was, a beggar, were saying—Is not, this, he that used to sit and beg?
Nipele, ŵapachiŵandi ŵakwe ni aŵala ŵaŵambweni ali nkuŵendaŵenda kundanda ŵaliusisye, “Ana ajuju nganaŵa ajula mundu juŵaŵendaŵendaga?”
9 Others, were saying—’Tis, the same. Others, were saying—Nay! but he is, like him. He, was saying—I, am he.
Ŵandu ŵane ŵatite, “Ni jwelejo.” Nambo ŵane ŵatite, “Ajuju nganaŵa jwelejo agambile kulandana.” Nambo nsyene ŵatite, “Uneji ndili jujojo junaŵendaŵendaga!”
10 So they were saying unto him—How [then] were thine eyes opened?
Nipele ŵambusisye, “Sambano iŵele uli nkulola?”
11 He, answered—The man that is called Jesus, made, clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me: Withdraw unto the pool of Siloam, and wash. Going away, therefore, and washing, I received sight.
Nombewo ŵajanjile, “Mundu jwakuŵilanjikwa Che Yesu jula ŵagumbile litaka, ŵambakesye pa meeso ni kuusalila, ‘Njaule nkasukusule mu litanda lya Siloamu.’ Pelepo uneji najawile ni panasukusulaga natandite kulola.”
12 And they said unto him—Where is, He? He saith—I know not.
Ni ŵambusisye, “Ana mundu jo alikwapi?” Nombejo ŵaajanjile, “Kwaalini!”
13 They bring him unto the Pharisees—him at one time blind.
Nipele ŵandu ŵanjawisye ajula juŵaliji ngakulola kundanda kwa Mafalisayo.
14 Now it was Sabbath, on the day when Jesus made, the clay, and opened his eyes.
Lyuŵa lyo Che Yesu paŵagumbile litaka ni kumbugula meeso jwangalola jula lyaliji Lyuŵa lya Kupumulila.
15 Again, therefore, the Pharisees also questioned him, as to how he received sight. And, he, said unto them—Clay, laid he upon mine eyes, and I washed, —and do see.
Nipele Mafalisayo ŵambusisye ajula mundu juŵaliji ngakulola kundanda, “Ana nkombwele chinauli kulola?” Nombejo ŵajanjile, “Ŵambakesye litaka pa meeso, none nasukuswile ni sambano ngulola.”
16 Certain from among the Pharisees, therefore, were saying—This man is not, from God, because, the Sabbath, he keepeth not. Others, [however] were saying—How can a sinful man, such signs as these, be doing? And there was, a division, among them.
Mafalisayo ŵane ŵatite, “Mundu jwatesile yeleyi nganatyochela kwa Akunnungu pakuŵa ngakugakamula malajisyo ga Lyuŵa lya Kupumulila.” Nambo ŵandu ŵane ŵatite, “Ana mundu jwali ni sambi chakombole kutendekanya imanyisyo mpela ayiyi?” Nipele, kwaliji ni utinda mwa ŵandu wo.
17 So they were saying unto the blind man, again, What dost, thou, say concerning him, in that he opened thine eyes? And, he, said—A prophet, is he.
Nipele Mafalisayo ŵambusisye sooni juŵaliji ngakulola jula, “Nkuti ambugwile meeso genu, sambano mmwejo nkuŵecheta ichichi nkati mundu jo?” Nombejo ŵajanjile, “Mundu jo ali jwakulondola jwa Akunnungu!”
18 The Jews, therefore, did not believe, concerning him, that he was blind, and received sight, —until they called the parents of him that had received sight,
Achakulu ŵa Ŵayahudi nganajitichisya kuti mundu jo ŵaliji ngakulola chitandilile kundanda ni sambano akulola, mpaka paŵaaŵilasile achaŵelesi ŵakwe.
19 and questioned them, saying—Is, this, your son, of whom, ye, say, that blind, he was, born? How, then, seeth he, even now?
Ŵausisye, “Ana aju ngati ni mwanagwenu junkuti ŵapagwile ngakulola? Ana sambano akombwele chinauli kulola?”
20 His parents, therefore, answered, and said—We know that, this, is our son, and that, blind, he was born;
Achaŵelesi ŵakwe ŵajanjile, “Tukwimanyilila kuti ajuju ni mwanagwetu ni tukwimanyilila kuti ŵapagwile jwangalola.
21 But, how he now seeth, we know not, or, who opened his eyes, we, know not, —Question, him, he is, of age, he, concerning himself, shall speak.
Nambo akombwele chinauli kulola ngatukumanyilila, ni jwantesile akombole kulola nombejo ngatukwamanyilila. Mumbusye nsyene, jwelejo ali jwankule, chaliŵalanje.”
22 These things, said his parents, because they were in fear of the Jews, —for, already, had the Jews agreed together, that, if anyone should confess, him, to be Christ, an, excommunicant from the synagogue, should he be made.
Achaŵelesi ŵakwe ŵaŵechete yeleyo ligongo ŵaajogwepe achakulu ŵa Ŵayahudi, pakuŵa ŵelewo ŵalangene chile kuti, mundu jwalijose ajitichisyaga kuti Che Yesu ali Kilisito Jwakuwombola chaŵinjikwe mu nyuumba ja kupopelela.
23 For this cause, his parents said—He is, of age, —question him.
Lyelelyo ni ligongo achaŵelesi ŵakwe ŵatite, “Jwelejo ali jwankule, mumbusye nsyene.”
24 So they called the man a second time—[him] who had been blind, and said unto him—Give glory unto God! We know that, this man, is, a sinner.
Nipele ŵambilasile kaaŵili juŵapagwile ali ngakulola jula ni kunsalila, “Nnumbile kwa Akunnungu iŵaga nkusala isyene! Uweji tukwimanyilila kuti mundu jwannamisye mmwe ali jwa sambi.”
25 He, therefore, answered—Whether he is a sinner, I know not: One thing, I know, —That, whereas I was, blind, now, I see!
Nombejo ŵajanjile, “Iŵaga mundu ju ali jwa sambi pane nganakola sambi une ngangwimanyilila. Nambo une nguchimanyilila chindu chimo, kuti naliji jwangalola ni sambano ngulola.”
26 They said, therefore, unto him—What did he unto thee? How opened he thine eyes?
Nipele Ŵambusisye sooni, “Ana antesile chichi? Ana agaugwile chinauli meeso genu?”
27 He answered them—I told you just now, and ye did not hear: Why, again, do ye wish to hear? Are, ye also, wishing to become, his disciples?
Mundu jo ŵajanjile, “Nansalile sampano, ni ŵanyamwe nganinsaka kupilikanichisya, kwachichi nkusaka kupilikanila sooni ngani ji? Uli, nombe ŵanyamwe nkusaka kuŵa ŵakulijiganya ŵakwe?”
28 And they reviled him, and said—Thou, art, the disciple, of that man; but, we, are, Moses’, disciples: —
Nambo ŵanyawo ŵantukene achitiji, “Mmwe ndi jwakulijiganya jwa mundu jo, nambo uweji tuli ŵakulijiganya ŵa che Musa.
29 We, know, that, unto Moses, hath God spoken; but, as for this man, we know not whence he is.
Uweji tuimanyi kuti Akunnungu ŵaŵechete ni che Musa, nambo mundu ju ngatukukumanyilila kwakopochele!”
30 The man answered, and said unto them—Why! Herein, is, the marvel: That, ye, know not whence he is, and yet he opened mine eyes.
Nombejo ŵaajanjile, “Ŵanyamwe nkuusimosya! Ŵanyamwe ngankukumanyilila kwakopochele mundu ju, nambo agaugwile meeso gangu!
31 We know that, God, unto sinners, doth not hearken: but, if one be, a worshipper of God, and be doing, his will, unto this one, he hearkeneth.
Tukumanyilila kuti Akunnungu ngakwapilikanila ŵandu ŵaali ni sambi, nambo Akunnungu akumpilikanila mundu jwakunchimbichisya ni kupanganya yakusaka.
32 Out of age-past time, hath it never been heard, that anyone opened the eyes of one who, blind, had been born. (aiōn )
Chitandile gumbikwa chilambo ngapagwa mundu jwapilikene kuti mundu agaugwile meeso ga mundu jwapagwilwe ali ngakulola. (aiōn )
33 If this man were not from God, he could have done nothing.
Iŵaga mundu ju nganatyochela kwa Akunnungu, ngaakakombole kupanganya chachili chose!”
34 They answered and said unto him—In sins, wast, thou, born, altogether; and art, thou, teaching, us? And they cast him out.
Ŵanyawo ŵajanjile, “Mmwejo mwapagwilwe ni kukula mu sambi ana nomwe nkusaka kutujiganya uweji?” Nipele Ŵayahudi ŵambinjile mundu jo mu nyuumba ja kupopelela.
35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out: and, finding him, said—Dost, thou, believe on the son of Man?
Che Yesu ŵapilikene kuti mundu juŵannamisye jula aŵinjikwe pa Nyuumba ja Kupopelela. Nipele paŵansimene ŵambusisye, “Ana mmwejo nkunkulupilila Mwana jwa Mundu?”
36 He answered [and said]—And, who, is he, Sir, that I may believe on him?
Mundu jo ŵajanjile, “Ambuje, ana ŵelewo ali ŵaani, musalile kuti nakulupilile.”
37 Jesus said unto him—Thou hast both seen him and, he that is speaking with thee, is, he.
Che Yesu ŵansalile, “Sambano mummweni, nombe ni jwelejo jwakukunguluka nomwe.”
38 And, he, said—I believe, Sir! and worshipped him.
Nipele mundu jo ŵatite, “Ambuje, ngukulupilila!” Ni ŵatindiŵele ni kwakotamila.
39 And Jesus said—For judgment, I, unto this world, came: that, they who were not seeing, might see, and, they who were seeing, might become, blind.
Che Yesu ŵatite, “Uneji nyiche pachilambo pano kukwasapulanya ŵandu, kuti ŵangalola akombole kulola, ni ŵakulola aŵeje ŵangalola.”
40 They of the Pharisees who were with him, heard, these things, and said unto him—Are, we also, blind?
Mafalisayo ŵane ŵaŵaliji pamo ni Che Yesu ŵagapilikene maloŵe go, ni ŵambusisye, “Uli, nowe ŵakwe tuli ŵangalola?”
41 Jesus said unto them—If, blind, ye had been, ye had not had sin; but, now, ye say, We see, your sin, abideth.
Che Yesu ŵajanjile, “Nkaliji ŵangalola, ngankaŵe ni sambi, nambo sambano ŵanyamwe nkulitenda, ‘Uweji tukulola,’ yelei ikulosya kuti nli mu sambi.”
