John 7
1 And, after these things, Jesus was walking in Galilee; for he was not wishing, in Judaea, to be walking, because the Jews were seeking to slay him.
इन बातों के बाद 'ईसा गलील में फिरता रहा क्यूँकि यहूदिया में फिरना न चाहता था, इसलिए कि यहूदी अगुवे उसके क़त्ल की कोशिश में थे
2 But the feast of the Jews was near, that of the pitching of tents.
और यहूदियों की 'ईद — ए — खियाम नज़दीक थी।
3 His brethren, therefore, said unto him—Remove hence, and withdraw into Judaea, that, thy disciples also, may view thy works which thou art doing.
पस उसके भाइयों ने उससे कहा, “यहाँ से रवाना होकर यहूदिया को चला जा, ताकि जो काम तू करता है उन्हें तेरे शागिर्द भी देखें।
4 For, no one, anything in secret, doeth, and yet is seeking, himself, to be well-known. If, these things, thou art doing, manifest thyself unto the world.
क्यूँकि ऐसा कोई नहीं जो मशहूर होना चाहे और छिपकर काम करे। अगर तू ये काम करता है, तो अपने आपको दुनियाँ पर ज़ाहिर कर।”
5 For, not even his brethren, were believing on him.
क्यूँकि उसके भाई भी उस पर ईमान न लाए थे।
6 Jesus, therefore, saith unto them—My season, not yet, is here; but, your season, at anytime, is ready:
पस ईसा ने उनसे कहा, “मेरा तो अभी वक़्त नहीं आया, मगर तुम्हारे लिए सब वक़्त है।
7 The world cannot hate you; but, me, it hateth, because, I, bear witness concerning it, that, the works thereof, are, wicked.
दुनियाँ तुम से 'दुश्मनी नहीं रख सकती लेकिन मुझ से रखती है, क्यूँकि मैं उस पर गवाही देता हूँ कि उसके काम बुरे हैं।
8 Ye, go up unto the feast: I, not yet, am coming up unto this feast, because, my season, not yet, hath fully come.
तुम 'ईद में जाओ; मैं अभी इस 'ईद में नहीं जाता, क्यूँकि अभी तक मेरा वक़्त पूरा नहीं हुआ।”
9 And, these things, having said unto them, he was still abiding in Galilee.
ये बातें उनसे कहकर वो गलील ही में रहा।
10 But, when his brethren had gone up unto the feast, then, he also, went up, —not openly, but as it were in secret.
लेकिन जब उसके भाई 'ईद में चले गए उस वक़्त वो भी गया, खुले तौर पर नहीं बल्कि पोशीदा।
11 The Jews, therefore, were seeking him in the feast, and were saying—Where is that one?
पस यहूदी उसे 'ईद में ये कहकर ढूँडने लगे, “वो कहाँ है?”
12 and there was great, murmuring, about him among the multitudes: some, indeed, were saying—Good, is he! [but], others, were saying—Not so! but he is leading the multitude astray.
और लोगों में उसके बारे में चुपके — चुपके बहुत सी गुफ़्तगू हुई; कुछ कहते थे, वो नेक है। “और कुछ कहते थे, नहीं बल्कि वो लोगों को गुमराह करता है।”
13 No one, nevertheless, was speaking, openly, about him, because of their fear of the Jews.
तो भी यहूदियों के डर से कोई शख़्स उसके बारे में साफ़ साफ़ न कहता था।
14 Presently, however, the feast being at its height, Jesus went up unto the temple and was teaching.
जब 'ईद के आधे दिन गुज़र गए, तो 'ईसा हैकल में जाकर ता'लीम देने लगा।
15 The Jews, therefore, began to marvel, saying—How, doth this one know, letters, not having learned?
पस यहुदियों ने ता'ज्जुब करके कहा, “इसको बग़ैर पढ़े क्यूँकर 'इल्म आ गया?”
16 Jesus, therefore, answered them, and said—My teaching, is not mine, but his who sent me.
ईसा ने जवाब में उनसे कहा, “मेरी ता'लीम मेरी नहीं, बल्कि मेरे भेजने वाले की है।
17 If any one intend, his will, to do, he shall get to know concerning the teaching—whether it is, of God, or, I, from myself, am speaking,
अगर कोई उसकी मर्ज़ी पर चलना चाहे, तो इस ता'लीम की वजह से जान जाएगा कि ख़ुदा की तरफ़ से है या मैं अपनी तरफ़ से कहता हूँ।
18 He that, from himself, doth speak, his own glory, is seeking: he that seeketh the glory of him that sent him, the same, is, true, and, injustice, in him, is there none.
जो अपनी तरफ़ से कुछ कहता है, वो अपनी 'इज़्ज़त चाहता है; लेकिन जो अपने भेजनेवाले की 'इज़्ज़त चाहता है, वो सच्चा है और उसमें नारास्ती नहीं।
19 Did not, Moses, give you the law? And yet, not one of you, doeth the law!—Why, seek ye, to slay, me?
क्या मूसा ने तुम्हें शरी'अत नहीं दी? तोभी तुम में शरी'अत पर कोई 'अमल नहीं करता। तुम क्यूँ मेरे क़त्ल की कोशिश में हो?”
20 The multitude answered—A demon, thou hast: Who, is seeking, to slay, thee?
लोगों ने जवाब दिया, “तुझ में तो बदरूह है! कौन तेरे क़त्ल की कोशिश में है?”
21 Jesus answered, and said unto them—One work, I did, and ye, all, are marvelling:
ईसा ने जवाब में उससे कहा, “मैंने एक काम किया, और तुम सब ताअ'ज्जुब करते हो।
22 For this cause, Moses, hath given you, circumcision, —not that, of Moses, it is, but of the fathers; —and, on Sabbath, ye circumcise a man.
इस बारे में मूसा ने तुम्हें ख़तने का हुक्म दिया है (हालाँकि वो मूसा की तरफ़ से नहीं, बल्कि बाप — दादा से चला आया है), और तुम सबत के दिन आदमी का ख़तना करते हो।
23 If, circumcision, a man receiveth, on Sabbath, that the law of Moses may not be broken, with me, are ye bitter as gall, because, a whole man, I made, well, on Sabbath?
जब सबत को आदमी का ख़तना किया जाता है ताकि मूसा की शरी'अत का हुक्म न टूटे; तो क्या मुझ से इसलिए नाराज़ हो कि मैंने सबत के दिन एक आदमी को बिल्कुल तन्दरुस्त कर दिया?
24 Be not judging according to appearance, but, just judgment, be judging,
ज़ाहिर के मुवाफ़िक़ फ़ैसला न करो, बल्कि इन्साफ़ से फ़ैसला करो।”
25 So then, some of them of Jerusalem were saying—Is not, this, he whom they are seeking to kill?
तब कुछ येरूशलेमी कहने लगे, “क्या ये वही नहीं जिसके क़त्ल की कोशिश हो रही है?
26 And yet, see! with freedom of speech, he is talking, and, nothing, unto him, do they say: —Have the rulers perhaps come to know, of a truth, that, this, is, the Christ?
लेकिन देखो, ये साफ़ — साफ़ कहता है और वो इससे कुछ नहीं कहते। क्या हो सकता है कि सरदारों से सच जान लिया कि मसीह यही है?
27 But, as for this one, we know whence he is; The Christ, however, whensoever he shall come, no one, getteth to know whence he is.
इसको तो हम जानते हैं कि कहाँ का है, मगर मसीह जब आएगा तो कोई न जानेगा कि वो कहाँ का है।”
28 Jesus, therefore, cried aloud in the temple, teaching, and saying—Both me, ye know, and ye know whence I am, —and yet, of myself, have I not come, but he is real, who sent me, whom, ye, know not.
पस ईसा ने हैकल में ता'लीम देते वक़्त पुकार कर कहा, “तुम मुझे भी जानते हो, और ये भी जानते हो कि मैं कहाँ का हूँ; और मैं आप से नहीं आया, मगर जिसने मुझे भेजा है वो सच्चा है, उसको तुम नहीं जानते।
29 I, know him, because, from him, I am, and, he, sent me forth.
मैं उसे जानता हूँ, इसलिए कि मैं उसकी तरफ़ से हूँ और उसी ने मुझे भेजा है।”
30 They were seeking therefore to seize him; and yet no one laid on him his hand, because, not yet, had come his hour.
पस वो उसे पकड़ने की कोशिश करने लगे, लेकिन इसलिए कि उसका वक़्त अभी न आया था, किसी ने उस पर हाथ न डाला।
31 But, from amongst the multitude, many, believed on him, and were saying—The Christ, whensoever he cometh, greater signs, will he do, than those which, this one, did?
मगर भीड़ में से बहुत सारे उस पर ईमान लाए, और कहने लगे, “मसीह जब आएगा, तो क्या इनसे ज़्यादा मोजिज़े दिखाएगा?” जो इसने दिखाए।
32 The Pharisees hearkened unto the multitude murmuring concerning him these things; and the High-priests and the Pharisees sent forth officers, that they might seize him.
फ़रीसियों ने लोगों को सुना कि उसके बारे में चुपके — चुपके ये बातें करते हैं, पस सरदार काहिनों और फ़रीसियों ने उसे पकड़ने को प्यादे भेजे।
33 Jesus, therefore, said—Yet a little time, I am, with you, and withdraw unto him that sent me:
ईसा ने कहा, “मैं और थोड़े दिनों तक तुम्हारे पास हूँ, फिर अपने भेजनेवाले के पास चला जाऊँगा।
34 Ye shall seek me, and not find me, and, where, I, am, ye, cannot come.
तुम मुझे ढूँडोगे मगर न पाओगे, और जहाँ मैं हूँ तुम नहीं आ सकते।”
35 The Jews, therefore, said unto themselves—Whither, is, this one, about to go, that we shall not find him? Unto the dispersion of the Greeks, is he about to go, and teach the Greeks?
हमारे यहूदियों ने आपस में कहा, ये कहाँ जाएगा कि हम इसे न पाएँगे? क्या उनके पास जाएगा कि हम इसे न पाएँगे? क्या उनके पास जाएगा जो यूनानियों में अक्सर रहते हैं, और यूनानियों को ता'लीम देगा?
36 What, is this which he said: Ye shall seek me and not find me, and, where, I, am, ye, cannot come?
ये क्या बात है जो उसने कही, “तुम मुझे तलाश करोगे मगर न पाओगे, 'और, 'जहाँ मैं हूँ तुम नहीं आ सकते'?”
37 Now, on the last—the great—day of the feast, Jesus was standing, and he cried aloud, saying—If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink:
फिर ईद के आख़िरी दिन जो ख़ास दिन है, ईसा खड़ा हुआ और पुकार कर कहा, “अगर कोई प्यासा हो तो मेरे पास आकर पिए।
38 He that believeth on me—just as said the Scripture, —River, from within him, shall flow, of living water.
जो मुझ पर ईमान लाएगा उसके अन्दर से, जैसा कि किताब — ए — मुक़द्दस में आया है, ज़िन्दगी के पानी की नदियाँ जारी होंगी।”
39 Now, this, spake he concerning the Spirit which they who believed on him were about to receive; for, not yet, was there Spirit, because, Jesus, not yet, was glorified!
उसने ये बात उस रूह के बारे में कही, जिसे वो पाने को थे जो उस पर ईमान लाए; क्यूँकि रूह अब तक नाज़िल न हुई थी, इसलिए कि ईसा अभी अपने जलाल को न पहुँचा था।
40 Some from amongst the multitude, therefore, having hearkened unto these words, were saying—This, is, in truth, the prophet.
पस भीड़ में से कुछ ने ये बातें सुनकर कहा, “बेशक यही वो नबी है।”
41 Others, were saying—This, is, the Christ. But, others, were saying—Out of Galilee, is, the Christ, to come?
औरों ने कहा, ये मसीह है। “और कुछ ने कहा, क्यूँ? क्या मसीह गलील से आएगा?
42 Hath not the Scripture said: Of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was, cometh the Christ?
क्या किताब — ए — मुक़द्दस में से नहीं आया, कि मसीह दाऊद की नस्ल और बैतलहम के गाँव से आएगा, जहाँ का दाऊद था?”
43 A division, therefore, arose in the multitude, because of him.
पस लोगों में उसके बारे में इख़्तिलाफ़ हुआ।
44 Certain, indeed, from among them, were wishing to seize him; but, no one, thrust upon him his hands.
और उनमें से कुछ उसको पकड़ना चाहते थे, मगर किसी ने उस पर हाथ न डाला।
45 So then the officers came unto the High-priests and Pharisees, and, they, said unto them—For what cause, have ye not brought him?
पस प्यादे सरदार काहिनों और फ़रीसियों के पास आए; और उन्होंने उनसे कहा, “तुम उसे क्यूँ न लाए?”
46 The officers answered—Never, man spake thus!
प्यादों ने जवाब दिया कि, “इंसान ने कभी ऐसा कलाम नहीं किया।”
47 The Pharisees, therefore, answered them—Surely, ye also, have not been led astray?
फ़रीसियों ने उन्हें जवाब दिया, “क्या तुम भी गुमराह हो गए?
48 Surely, none of the rulers, hath believed in him, nor of the Pharisees?
भला इख़्तियार वालों या फ़रीसियों मैं से भी कोई उस पर ईमान लाया?
49 But, this multitude, that take no note of the law, are, laid under a curse.
मगर ये 'आम लोग जो शरी'अत से वाक़िफ़ नहीं ला'नती हैं।”
50 Nicodemus saith unto them—he that came unto him formerly, being, one, from among them—
नीकुदेमुस ने, जो पहले उसके पास आया था, उनसे कहा,
51 Surely, our law, doth not judge the man, unless it hear first from him, and get to know what he is doing?
“क्या हमारी शरी'अत किसी शख़्स को मुजरिम ठहराती है, जब तक पहले उसकी सुनकर जान न ले कि वो क्या करता है?”
52 They answered and said unto him—Surely, thou also, art not, of Galilee? Search and see! That, out of Galilee, a prophet is not to arise.
उन्होंने उसके जवाब में कहा, “क्या तू भी गलील का है? तलाश कर और देख, कि गलील में से कोई नबी नाज़िल नहीं होने का।”
53 And they went, each unto his own house;
[फिर उनमें से हर एक अपने घर चला गया।
